Country Place Farm & Venue is a 27-acre country wedding venue located just outside Gainesville, Georgia. This charming property features a beautiful former horse barn overlooking a large pond. The barn became a wedding venue in 2019; the dirt floors are long gone, but the memories and the joy of quiet, simple country living remain. Brenton and Amy Pierce are proud to offer a cozy, intimate space where you can get together with your family and friends to celebrate your love and the beginning of a new and fulfilling chapter of your life. They aim to make your wedding an event to remember, and they can’t wait to meet you and get to work turning your dreams into reality.
Facilities and Capacity
Country Place Farm & Venue accommodates parties of up to 150 people. The barn measures 3,000 square feet and features tongue and groove cedar topped with a tin roof ceiling. The barn is climate controlled to keep you and your loved ones comfortable, whatever the weather. There is a wedding suite located just inside the entrance. It has a full-length mirror, four illuminated get-ready stations, and a relaxation area. The room adjoins a private bath, so you can unwind and enjoy some quiet time before your ceremony. A second dressing area is available for the other half of your wedding party. The barn also has a dry catering kitchen with a refrigerator, a stainless steel sink, an icemaker, and warming drawers.
Services Offered
Country Place Farm & Venue offers intimate, venue-only, and venue with decor packages. Their basic package includes a one-hour rehearsal and day-of coordination services. Only Partial Refund After Fiancée's Sudden Death
In November (on the 4th), more than six months before our date, my fiancée passed away suddenly and tragically. I reached out to Amy to discuss options.
I didn't even ask for a full refund, but when she returned less than half of our deposit, I requested that I be allowed to repurpose the booking for a celebration of life instead of a wedding.
Amy refused. She returned only $2,000, keeping over $3,100.
She stated she didn't need to see a death certificate (I had offered, worried she might think I was fabricating the tragedy) and emphasized the contract's no-refund policy.
While I understand contracts exist, the lack of any flexibility or compassion in the face of a verifiable death—with ample notice for potential rebooking—felt callous.
Amy was warm and helpful while booking and collecting payment, but the response after our loss was cold and business-only.
Advice to future brides and grooms:
Read the cancellation/refund policy extremely carefully—especially any "no refunds" clauses—and ask about exceptions for unforeseen tragedies like death or serious illness.
Consider paying by credit card (not cash) for better protection/dispute options if things go wrong.
Ask current/former clients about how the venue handles cancellations or emergencies.
This place may look beautiful and affordable, but in our case, the policy prioritized dollars over decency during the worst moment of my life. I hope sharing this prevents anyone else from experiencing the same added grief.
How a business treats people during tragedies matters
I am deeply disappointed with this venue. My best friend and her fiancé booked their wedding here, but tragically, she passed away (6 months) before the wedding could take place and one month before her 37th birthday. After offering an insultingly small partial refund, her fiancé requested the opportunity to repurpose the booking for a celebration of life in her honor. The venue refused.
Beyond the complete lack of flexibility, the communication was cold, dismissive, and entirely lacking in compassion. This all took place amidst profound grief and tragedy, yet there was no care or understanding shown toward a grieving partner and loved ones. How a business treats people during tragedies like this matters.
There was ample time for the venue to secure another booking, and it is difficult to understand what difference it would have made whether the space was used to celebrate a moment in her life or to honor and celebrate her life itself. This experience revealed a profound absence of kindness and empathy. I would strongly caution others to take this into account before trusting this venue with such an important life event. As someone who is recently engaged, I plan to share this experience with other brides-to-be so they can make informed decisions.
