City Winery & Ryan were AMAZING to work with! When our wedding had to move from San Diego to Nashville due to the pandemic, they helped us change plans quickly and made great recommendations for new vendors. Thank you City Winery!!

My now husband & I had our elopement ceremony & intimate, elegant dinner party for 11 people at City Winery in their Cellar Room next to the bar area. Everything went off without a hitch. Vows were exchanged on the patio & dinner was inside. The service and food were first class. We started with a champagne toast with hors d’oeuvres, followed by a plated sit down dinner. (The choices offered were fab.) Our designated server Jamie was most attentive, ushering in cocktails & the food. The food was perfect. The room was perfect. I was amazed how sound proofed it was when the door was shut - we heard nothing from the bar area. We were truly in our own little haven there. Tianna Connelly was our Event Coordinator and she was wonderful from booking to the day, always responsive, always helpful. I can’t speak to bigger affairs there, but for an intimate one, we were treated like royalty. Go for it!

We used City Winery for our rehearsal dinner and it was amazing! The space upstairs was perfect and had great outdoor views. The food was delicious and they had a great bar option. This would also make for a nice venue for the actual wedding if you had a smaller wedding. However, I highly recommend it for the rehearsal dinner! The even coordinator was great too. She made everything stress free and was very responsive to questions.

We had our rehearsal dinner at the Lounge, which is the upstairs room of City Winery. The area has two amazing decks with breathtaking views of downtown Nashville. Our rehearsal dinner was right at sunset and everyone was raving about the views and taking pictures. The staff is also extremely great to work with and willing to work with your budget, guest list, and time. Overall we had a great experience.

Ryan Walters and your staff did a wonderful job throughout the entire process. The tasting was a phenomenal experience and having the tables arranged the night before allowed us to set-up the room which was a tremendous help to us. The evening of the dinner could not have gone better. The wait staff and the bartenders were very friendly and attentive. We've received many complements from those people in attendance and we would highly recommend City Winery for anyone wishing to have a special event in the future.

We had the rehearsal dinner there for our son's wedding. They did an amazing job at walking us through all the details and planning. So easy to work with! The night of the event they handled everything so perfectly and I was able to just enjoy family and friends! Highly recommend!

We wanted a NYE celebration for our wedding. Nashville being a top city for travel and fun the prices of some locations we checked out the were outrageous! City Winery was an affordable option that provided hors d'oeuvres and open bar for less than $15000, that's an amazing deal! They kept me posted on everything and the event went off without a hitch. My girls and I received champagne and pastries while we got ready in the bridal suite. All our pictures were done on site because EVERYTHING is beautiful! I really wanted the goat cheese tarts and the chef put a plate aside for me because we were so busy with pictures and mingling we had zero chance to eat. The carving station chef also brought me a whole plate of prime rib because it was out when I went through. We had a event captain that refreshed drinks, moved furniture and set everything up for us day of. Included in the price was rental of the lounge area (100 guests), with 2 outdoor patios, audio visual person, hors d'oeuvres, open bar, valet, bartenders, wait staff, coordinator, tables, chairs, and linens. It was GREAT!!! Our only complaint was the outdoor heaters weren't working so we couldn't smoke cigars.

I couldn't have asked for a better wedding day at City Winery. Ryan and Tianna truly made my dreams a reality. They were there for me every step of the way and helped me to create designs each time I changed my mind (which was often). Ryan's experience in the wedding industry certainly shined throughout the planning process and especially the day of our rehearsal and actual wedding. The ceremony and reception were downstairs in the venue and the cocktail hour was upstairs. Our guests absolutely loved the patio area during cocktail hour...so much so that even in the July summer heat most of our guests stayed outside! The room flip occurred seamlessly; everyone knew what they had to accomplish. My husband and I saw our dreams become reality and it was an amazing feeling. Unfortunately, there were some unforeseen family circumstances that occurred right before our wedding and Ryan and the entire CW staff came to the rescue and ensured everything was handled. The food and beverages were phenomenal! Guests really enjoyed the risotto, brussel sprouts, and especially the dessert bar!

If you are looking for a unique wedding venue close to downtown, absolutely consider City Winery. The room can accommodate a larger sized wedding, everything is done through the venue (rentals, catering/alcohol, decor, etc.), and they will work with you to ensure your day is perfect!

My husband and I, overall, had the absolute perfect day. The venue was beautiful, the food was delicious, and everything went without major drama. However I wanted to give an honest an in-depth overview for any brides and grooms who are probably more detail oriented than we were.

- I highly recommend hiring an outside wedding planner or coordinator to work with you and coordinate with the venue. The venues in house event coordinator is supposed to act as your day of coordinator if you don’t have one, however her performance was lacking. Her communication leading up to the event (both with myself and other vendors) was poor; multiple emails over several months went ignored, 45 min late for scheduled call the week of the wedding, miscommunicated a COVID policy to multiple vendors, was absent for hours on the day of, and left before our event was over. It was clear she was stretched thin trying to work our event + others. So it would save you a lot of stress and a headache to hire somebody else.
- City Winery booked two other (decent sized) events in the venue that lasted from morning to early afternoon. Both events plus at least two wine tasting groups were loud to the point where we couldn’t hear during pictures, or they wandered through where we were getting ready/setting up/taking photos. One event was set up in our ceremony area and went until an hour and a half before our guests were set to arrive. This meant that they didn’t start setting up the ceremony room until after that event had to be cleaned up. This was also clearly not communicated to my photographer or my florist beforehand, who were working really hard to adjust their timelines on the fly to make our day work the way we wanted. This also caused our first look (between bride and groom) to be moved outside into 95 degree heat, because of poor lighting and inability to hear each other over the other events. We also weren’t told that there would be that many events simultaneously going with ours until the rehearsal, the day before. The event coordinator (who acted as our day of coordinator) was nowhere to be found to prevent or help with these friction points as they occurred.
- The chef did an absolutely phenomenal job with the food. I would say this was a HUGE plus for us. Everyone loved it, nobody has said there wasn’t enough (and we’ve asked). The desserts and our cake were also a huge hit. The bar had tons of beer and wines options available as well. So these are all a huge thumbs up for us.
- - The decor I brought with me was set up perfectly. I did hand the event coordinator a diagram of the floor plan with notes of where I wanted everything but they really did a fantastic job setting it up. It all looked so beautiful and we couldn’t have been happier.
- Ensure you made concrete decisions and have them in writing. Originally we discussed and agreed to having a mobile bar outside. We didn’t get it in writing but had discussed it repeatedly. Day of the event coordinator told my bridesmaids we hadn’t “really” agreed to it and it was too hot outside. Bridesmaid was thankfully there for the first discussion of it, and insisted it get set up. We had a TON of guests use it, and sit outside, so don’t be afraid to insist of something.
- Event coordinator did ensure that post-ceremony we got private time (about 30-45) minutes to eat privately before being introduced. This gave us time to walk around and say hi while people ate.

Overall we loved our day!
