Fr. David Kenney is Pastor of the Church of St. Augustine. The parish belongs to the Ecumenical Catholic Communion, which is a gathering of independent Catholic communities across the nation. Open and inclusive, our churches never turn anyone away from the Sacraments. All are welcome into all aspects of church life. Women and men alike may be ordained to the priesthood. Our governance is by the people themselves, gathered with their bishops and clergy in biennial Synods. At the center of our lives and worship is the ancient Eucharist. We celebrate Eucharist and the other Sacraments, and we uphold much of the great Tradition of the faith, all the while discovering a more open way of being church, in which truly, all are welcome.

Before embracing the Independent Catholic movement, Fr. David had devoted himself to ministry in the Roman Catholic Church. He is a certified Spiritual Director, a board-certified Chaplain, and an Ethicist in Health Care. He is a principal in the Clinical Ethics Consultancy, LLC, doing training and providing ethics consults for hospitals and physician practices. Fr. David's graduate work led to completion of an MA in Systematic Theology, a Masters of Divinity, and a Masters in Bioethics and Health Policy. He is now at work on his Doctorate in Bioethics at Loyola University Chicago.

One of Fr. David's great joys is the ministry of marriage preparation. Each year, he works with 15 to 20 couples, providing each with many hours of counseling and companionship as they prepare for their married lives together. Fr. David has now worked with over 200 couples in preparing for and celebrating their unions. He is dedicated to knowing and serving his couples not only in marriage preparation, but in their married lives together down through the years.
