A Country Estate overlooking the Delaware River
The grounds sit inside Bellevue State Park; purchased by the State of Delaware in 1993; now managed exclusively by Jeffrey Miller Catering. The rich history of the property dates back to Native Americans, a Swedish farm settlement around late 1630’s and Charles Lore, Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court who purchased the working farm in 1870 and is believed to be responsible for many of the currently standing buildings. Subsequently, Daniel Cauffiel, chief legal officer to the duPont Company constructed the current Colonial Revival- style house as a summer residence from early 1920’s until its completion in 1928 and kept the property as a working farm. The house still sports the original mid-twentieth century furnishings. The fascinating house boasts a formal parlor, an elegant dining room, bright sun porches, expansive lawns, and impressive gardens to provide the perfect setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions and rehearsal dinners; in addition to offering quaint overnight accommodations in the seven bedrooms. The property also includes a newly restored Pennsylvania bank barn located within steps of the house. The extraordinary barn makes Cauffiel Estate perfect for those looking for a sophisticated-rustic venue. With an abundance of historic charm and natural beauty, the Cauffiel Estate is the ideal choice for an enchanting event minutes from I-95!

A Fantastic Planning Experience
Working with Jeffery A Miller (JAM) catering and Tom (the Cauffiel site manager) has been an absolute pleasure thus far in our wedding planning journey. We fell in love with Cauffiel Estate after our tour and started the contract process shortly after. Everything about planning our big day has been completely customizable, especially their farm-to table menu! Our day is shaping up to be exactly what we dreamed of. Tom has been amazingly patient through the whole process, and also so knowledgable about making our vision come true, we couldn't imagine working with anyone else. We're incredibly excited for our upcoming wedding and are so thankful we found JAM for our special day.Sent on 08/31/2020

Can't wait to have our rehearsal dinner here!
My fiance Keith and I will be having our rehearsal dinner at Cauffiel Estate in a couple of nights, and we are so excited! Tom, the venue manager, has been an absolute lifesaver and helped us plan a great rehearsal dinner in very short notice, after we learned our initial plans elsewhere would no longer be able to happen due to covid restrictions. The staff has been extremely accommodating, supportive, flexible, and organized! The venue itself is beautiful! There's tons of outdoor space, including a back patio with views of the Delaware river where we plan to have drinks before and after dinner. Dinner will be held inside the Cauffiel house, which offers multiple dining areas with a ton of character. Apparently you can also rent out the house and its bedrooms for your bridal party/guests to stay overnight, which seems like it would be so cool and unique!Sent on 09/02/2020

Amazing team! Beautiful venue! True heros!
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here, and I couldn't recommend it more. The food was fantastic and very well priced! Everyone loved it! The venue was BEAUTIFUL. Perfectly appointed. Clean. And we had an AMAZING view of the Delaware River in the background. It was probably only 1/8th of a mile away. The grounds are also gorgeous. Although we just had our rehearsal dinner here (with 38 people) this venue would accommodate, and be perfect, for a wedding as well. It is totally quaint. Five-star reviews on everything for this location. And the best part is that Tom will be your right-hand man throughout the planning process, and he is a JOY to work with. He made the planning fun...and that seemed almost impossible given our COVID situation.
Lastly, I should mention that the Cauffiel house has 7 incredible bedrooms. We rented out the house for 2 nights. The bridesmaids stayed here and they LOVED it. It was ridiculously reasonable in terms of cost (more cost-effective than hotel rooms for sure) and absolutely elegant. Hardwood floors. Big, beautiful wood trim. Plush beds. Perfectly decorated. Pretty furniture. Newly renovated and clean. Air Conditioning. It could not have been more perfect. You will not go wrong by choosing to have your bridal party or guests stay here.Sent on 07/22/2020
