Ghislaine (“Gigi”) – Caribbean Blue Wedding Planning

We hosted our daughter’s destination wedding in Curaçao in November, and I can say without hesitation that Ghislaine (“Gigi”) from Caribbean Blue was the single best decision we made in the entire planning process.

About a year before the wedding, we interviewed Gigi and immediately knew she was the right person. From day one, she was organized, responsive, thoughtful, and completely tuned in to our daughter’s vision. Her communication was constant and clear, and she truly listened—not just to what was being said, but to the feeling and intention behind the dream wedding our daughter had imagined.

Gigi has an incredible ability to take a vision and translate it into what’s realistically possible on the island—while still making it feel magical. She was creative when needed, resourceful when challenges arose, and seamlessly pulled together a series of flawless events for nearly 100 guests.

Every event was outstanding:
    •    Welcome drinks and a white-party celebration at Soi 95
    •    A beautiful rehearsal dinner at Avila Hotel’s Blues (over-the-water restaurant)
    •    And finally, the wedding itself at Avila’s Octagon, which was absolutely breathtaking

Not a single event missed the mark. Everything ran smoothly, on time, and without stress—for us, for our daughter, or for our guests. People are still raving about how incredible the entire experience was.

I knew I was marrying a force when our story started over spaghetti Bolognese (that wasn’t on the menu and something she managed to have made for her only) at someone else’s wedding. But seeing Ghislaine and the Caribbean Blue team plan our wedding took it to another level.

We wanted an enchanted garden at home—string lights laced with flowers, a fully lit pergola walkway, and a half-moon ceremony arch bursting with color. She designed it all to feel personal: each member of the bridal party had a unique color and flower that came together in her bouquet. It was thoughtful, joyful, and very “us.”

The day itself felt effortless. No formal seated dinner—just a taco station, burger station, a cocktail bar, a regular bar, and a beer boat in a wheelbarrow (instant crowd favorite). Cocktail tables glowed with tiny vases and fairy lights, and the whole night flowed—no bottlenecks, no “where do we go now?” moments, just easy celebration.

What impressed me most was the balance: the amazing design that came to life with real hospitality that made everything go so smooth. I watched Ghislaine be both bride and creative director while the CB team handled the moving pieces so we could be present. We laughed, ate, danced—and never felt the logistics. It was exactly what we wanted, for us and our guests to just really celebrate and enjoy the moment.

We truly can’t say enough good things about our wedding coordinator, Ghislaine. From the moment we started working with her, she made everything feel effortless. She was warm, responsive (even late at night and on weekends!), and always willing to adjust plans to make things work for us. All of her vendor recommendations were incredible – we loved our photographer, videographer, florist, musicians, and more!

Even when the weather threw us a curveball on the big day, Ghislaine remained calm and worked with the Avila team to seamlessly pivot and still deliver the most incredible day. One of our favorite touches was the personalized welcome packages she put together for our guests – they were so thoughtful and beautifully done.

We were so pleased she was able to help with our elopement marriage in Curacao. Ghislaine has lifted all the stress off’ our shoulders by planning every step of our wedding day as well as activities before and after the wedding. This included transport to and from the airport, arranging special rates and a room block at the wedding venue and excursions around the island by bus and boat.
Ghislaine has also made a mood board to share her vision while incorporating our wishes for our big day. All vendors and communication was taken care of without any hassle.
