My wife had an appointment set up and received a call the day before her Bungalow8 appointment at 12:15pm (24hrs prior to appointment) as a reminder. She returned the call promptly at 5:15pm (19hrs prior to appointment) when she got off. The person my wife spoke with told her that she would be charged the FULL amount ($105) because of their policy (shown below). Apparently when you make an appointment at Bungalow8 you have to give them your CC to keep on file. This, by-the-way, gives them to right to charge your card anytime they deem necessary - such as in our scenario.
"The salon kindly requests to be contacted at least 24 hours prior to a client's scheduled appointment (48 hours prior to a Saturday or Holiday appointment) as a courtesy to the stylist and to allow the salon to potentially accommodate the needs of other guests. Failure to cancel an appointment (no-show), multiple last-minute cancellations, or recurrent appointment rescheduling may result in a full-price charge of the appointment."
This was the FIRST time this has ever happened and so we were a little frustrated. So, I called Bungalow8 shortly after hearing the news (because it was my CC that was charged) and got to speak with the owner (Eric). I explained that nowhere in his policy does it say we would be charged the first time we missed an appointment (people make mistakes) within that 24hr timeframe. He was extremely unprofessional and unwilling to pay back the money that he had charged us.
The problem here is that the stylist is the victim. Eric just lost his stylist a client (which my wife really liked) because of a fraudulent charge to my CC
