Buchanan House Winery

Buchanan House Winery is a historic vineyard and wedding venue located in Tipton, Iowa. This gorgeous property features a restored, 19th Century brick mansion, and 19 acres of wine-quality grapes and fruits. They offer a Colonial Revival Garden for outdoor ceremonies and receptions. Buchanan House Winery is an elegant venue that can’t wait to bring your vision to life.

Facilities and Capacity
Couples can accommodate up to 300 guests at this outdoor venue. They feature a one-and-a-half-acre garden for your celebration. Your guests will be able to stroll down a traditional brick and gravel pathway to your affair. You'll be surrounded by perennial plants and ornamental flowers similar to those from the 19th Century. There’s a romantic gazebo where you can exchange your vows, and then dance the night away underneath a tent on their beautiful property. You can take photos with their historic mansion as your backdrop, or among their lush vineyards.

This unique venue allows you to bring in your own vendors, so your wedding can be exactly how you envisioned it. They offer an in-house bar containing speciality and house wine and beer. You’ll have the option of an open bar or cash bar for your affair. They'll also supply bartenders and a champagne toast. Additional services include:

History
Alexander Buchanan built this 16-room wood and brick mansion between 1883 and 1885. He was known for owning and operating a 560-acre farm near Mechanicsville. In 2009, Randy and Lynn Weaver saved the mansion and moved it to its new home. They spent years reviving it, so they could open it to the public as the Buchanan House Winery. Now, they produce red, white, sparkling and fruit wines at their vineyard.
