BRG was so much fun! They were just what we wanted: a *non*-wedding-wedding-band, who played their own music and covers that didn't include the cheesy wedding songs no one ever wants to hear again. Benjie was really easy to talk to and plan with, and they were pros the day of. Can't wait to see them play in Breck sometime!

We loved having Benjie and the rest of Blue River Grass out in Vail for our wedding this past summer! They were the most positive and fun people we could've worked with and their music was the perfect fit for our mountainy wedding vibe. They were flexible even with some rain delays and many of the guests complimented them throughout the night. Highly recommend!

Blue River Grass was absolutely wonderful for our small wedding at Three Peaks Ranch in Westcliffe, CO. They were professional, attentive, and so helpful throughout the wedding planning process. Their bluegrass vibe was unique and the two songs they learned for us were delivered beautifully with their own BRG flair. I'm not exactly sure how to fully express just how much we LOVED BLUE RIVER GRASS at our wedding, so I'll start by saying this: having Blue River Grass as our band MADE OUR WEDDING. I absolutely cannot overstate the amazing live-music experience they provided for us and our guests and if you are looking for a live band, particularly with a rocky-blue-grass feels, save yourself time and energy and just HIRE THEM. My husband and I knew we wanted a live band over a DJ, and we were most excited about hiring a blue grass band. After an extensive search through every wedding band imaginable in Colorado (and surrounding states) I finally found BRG. Benji was super responsive and we quickly got on a call together where he patiently answered all my questions like the true professional that he is. We hired them almost immediately.

Between finalizing our booking and the big day we had communication back and forth about songs they could learn or already knew for first dances, sound system setups, etc. All of it felt incredibly smooth and despite all the other stressors that can and did come with plannign our wedding, I always felt so confident that Benji and BRG were completely on top of it.

Cut to the day of our wedding. I walked down the aisle to my cousin playing guitar on BRG's speaker, enjoyed a playlist they made for our cocktail hour, and we both had so much fun clumsily stomping around the dance floor to our first dance song that BRG played live (thanks for braving a Valerie June cover for us!).

Benji's voice is raspy gold and his rock star energy is undeniable, Maureen absolutely rips on the violin and knows how to work a crowd, and Brett not only serenaded us with those sweet sweet low bass vibrations but served as an excellent emcee for the various events on the dance floor.

We told BRG to play a mix of covers people would recognize (based on some of our general music taste) and some of their own stuff and for us this blend was PERFECT. This resulted in covers of The Talking Heads, The Cure, The Head and the Heart, Trampled by Turtles, Lorde, and so many others I just can't remember them all now.

My side of the family loves to dance (we don't dance well, but what we lack in skill we make up for with enthusiasm), but my husband's not-so-much; but we were shocked when we noticed both sides of his family couldnt' help but move their bodies to BRG's playing! One of his cousins coined the term "board breaker" because we were all out there stomping our feet so hard to the bluegrass that the whole deck we were on was shaking (note to ensure structural integrity of wedding dance venue - ours held up). If you have nosey family members asking "how do you dance to bluegrass" the answer is "stomp your feet," the rest will come naturally.

If you made it this far into this review, I think you know what you need to do, hire them, hire them, hire them!! Cross entertainment off of your mile-long wedding to-do list and let these absolute musical angels take care of your special day for you in whatever way you're looking for live music to be integrated into it.

Such a great band for our wedding! They were so fun, played great music and not just the typical wedding songs. I appreciate that they learned a few songs that we had requested. The big difference between them and other bands was their customer service, they really took it seriously being a part of our wedding ceremony & reception. I'd recommend them to anyone, especially those looking for a great bluegrass vibe!

BRG was a huge hit at our wedding. Everyone was dancing until the last note — they were a huge bright spot on our already perfect wedding day. Wedding planning can feel a little stressful at times, so we really appreciated their confidence in the process - they knew what they were doing and made us feel at ease. We would highly recommend BRG to anyone looking for a fun and dynamic wedding band.

We LOOOVE Blue River Grass!!! They flew out to Ohio for our wedding July 1st. They played during our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. They learned a song for me, that I requested to walk down the aisle to, and it was so beautiful. Listening to them while I walked had me crying!! Throughout the night they went wherever I needed them, no hesitation, even helping set up the DJ after they finished playing. They even offered to play for us privately right before our first dance so that we could practice, and it really made for such a nice, private moment for my husband and I. They were the highlight of the night and sounded amazing. We really enjoyed having them and cannot recommend them enough!

Blue River Grass did such a great job with our wedding ceremony. They made all the details so easy and were flexible with our wishes/needs. We've been told by dozens of our guests that was the best wedding ceremony they have attended and Blue River Grass helped make that happen

We hired Benjie and Maureen of Blue River Grass to play at our ceremony. They were AMAZING and truly made the ceremony special. Having a live performance makes any event - especially a wedding that much greater! Their attention to detail that went into planning songs and music was incredible. They made sure to have a performance that fit us as a couple! They were on time and great to work with. Not many people say that their ceremony was the best part of their wedding… but our ceremony was our favorite part because of them!
