From the first phone call, we knew Laura at the Blue Owl would be great to work with for our wedding! She accommodated our crazy schedules to come in for a tasting immediately, since we were already so close to the wedding date. When I showed her the design we wanted for the cake, she was genuinely excited to create it for us (whereas other bakeries acted as though it was a bother to create the design for us). She was also one of the few bakeries that actually wanted to place the fresh flowers on the cake herself, rather than have the florist do it, which we loved...because, after all, it is the bakery bringing the design to life! Laura was very patient and went through every single detail on the cake with us to make sure they made it exactly as we requested. She even told us where we could save some money on the design we had chosen, and the pricing was right on point for the quality of cake we received! On the big day, our wedding cake was BEAUTIFUL! The buttercream exterior was SO smooth, and we loved getting such a sleek elegant finish without using fondant! And last, but certainly not least, the cake itself was DELICIOUS!

We also used the Blue Owl to make our groom's cake for the rehearsal dinner. It was not an easy task that we gave them - a 3D replica of my husband's truck, with him in his military uniform and me in a dress with a computer, tool box, etc. in the bed of the truck. It turned out so cute and my husband was very surprised and impressed by it. The only thing I would do differently - pay the extra money for Blue Owl to deliver the groom's cake. We thought we could take it by ourselves since it wasn't a large cake, but you don't realize how fragile it is, especially when driving through roads in the city.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend using the Blue Owl for your wedding cake needs!!

Blue owl did our wedding dessert buffet! It was fabulous! The glitter sprinkled donuts were a huge hit!! Only wish we would have bought more!!

Very tasty desserts for the dessert table and the display was lovely. So many compliments on the variety of cheesecakes and pies ordered and everyone loved the donuts and cake pops. We provided a photo of a wedding cake to the Blue Owl and it turned out exactly as we had hoped. The tasting provided by the wedding coordinator, L. Costello, was all that we needed to convince us to use them for the wedding reception.

So good! I've loved every restaurant item I've tried there. The atmosphere is so delightful! We had them do our wedding cake as well, and it was so lovely, tasty, and wonderful! We were completely satisfied. Laura was a joy to work with! Thank you!

We used Blue Owl for our wedding cake. Laura was so great and easy to work with! From the tasting to our wedding cake, everything was so delicious and perfect! They were quick to reply to emails. They took my ideas and pictures and turned them into reality… our cake was exactly what we envisioned! We received so many compliments on the presentation and the taste of our wedding cake! We also ordered the lemon gooey butter cheesecake for the “groom’s cake,” which was absolutely delicious! We highly recommend Blue Owl!

The Blue Owl was wonderful! They took all my ideas and pictures and were able to turn my ideas into reality. They worked within my budget still giving me what I wanted.

My (now) husband and I got married the weekend of hurricane Issac, and due to destruction & flooding caused by the hurricane, we found out 2 days before the wedding that we would not have our wedding & grooms cake as planned.

We did a quick google search for best pie in the St. Louis area, and Blue Owl was the first up! We made one quick call and were informed that they would be able to help us, even with the short notice.

My mom, the groom and I got into the car and made the very quick drive to Kimmswick. Such a cute town by the way. We decided to eat lunch before tasting pies, and had a delightful server who made us excellent drinks! Lunch was tasty and I loved the vibe of the place.

Next we went to the pie counter and spoke to Kayla S. She was so sweet, helpful and was obviously an expert. She took us to taste many, many pie flavors and helped us choose the right options for our wedding. We chose 4 flavors (but it was so hard to choose, they were all delicious!), pecan chocolate chip, coconut cream, apple and strawberry rhubarb.

We decided to have individual sized pies on a "cupcake" stand with a heart shaped pie for us to cut. Kayla was so helpful and specific about our needs and she did a beautiful job setting up the pies for us day of!

I could not recommend Blue Owl Bakery more. We received SO many compliments on our wedding pies (people couldn't keep their hands off, and went back for seconds and sometimes thirds!) They were beautiful and best of all delicious. I believe Blue Owl pies are a unique and affordable alternative to traditional wedding cakes.
