We adore the photos Maya took for our wedding. She was very easy to work with, professional and very helpful. We gave her a theme we wanted the photos to look like and they came out perfectly. She definitely puts a lot of effort, care and thought into her work. Loved working with her and would recommend to anyone looking for beautiful professional photos.

I found Maya on two different wedding websites. She didn’t have many reviews, but her work appeared to be of substantial quality. Maya was contracted to be with us 5/14/25 from 12:00 - 7:00 pm (8 hours). She arrived over two hours late (between 2:10-2:15 pm) and did not apologize upon arrival. The only apology I got on our wedding day was a “sorry for the inconvenience” in a text. The text stated she was late due to a detour for an accident.
Yes, things happen, but we could not find reports of a wreck/traffic in real time. She is based in Huntsville, and our ceremony/reception was in Collinsville, AL (same location). Collinsville is a bit over one hour south of Huntsville. For her to have arrived so late, she likely never left Huntsville (assuming that is where she departed from) on time to begin with.

She was ill-prepared as she did not have our "necessary shots" list to work with. We sent the list using a link she sent to us. She expressed confusion about parts of the list on our wedding day, which was troubling because I had asked for her feedback/opinions within the same link. In her email, she claimed she never received the list. Not sure how she thought she could get her job done well without it.

She made no attempts to plan before the wedding and did not respond to mine. My event coordinator called multiple times and left voicemails to schedule a meeting. She also claims they never contacted her. She did reach out about a week before the wedding to ask where the ceremony and the reception were being held. She had those permanent details in January when we hired her. She also claims she captured our entire reception, even though I missed most of it because I was with her taking bridal portraits that should have been captured before the ceremony. Her offer of fair compensation (in response to my email sent May 21st) was 15% of our total ($309), to retouch our photos, and she would reach out when done. I did not accept her 15%. 2 of the 8 hours missed account for 30%. Not to mention, out of the 14 items that we requested, we got 3. I sent a short email asking for clarification on 5/23/25 and a longer one declining the 15% on 5/29/25. It has been over two weeks, and Maya's last and only communication was on 5/22/25.
