History
Ten pieces of baggage, no friends, no relatives, no idea what to do. That is how Latvian fashion photographer Eva Šica and her husband, graphic designer Kristians Šics, arrived to Mexico in 2008. For the first six months, they lived with a Mexican family, learning the Spanish language, manners, and recipes.
Soon, Eva met project director Pierre Morillon from France at a fashion photo session he was managing; this connection led to the establishment of the PhotoShoots Vallarta studio, and in 2015, it changed its name to Ave Sol.
They also added the invaluable Jessica Téllez to their photography team that same year, whose career is thriving with them to this day.
Now
After 15 years, some 900 weddings later, Eva and Kristians live in their own small fruit jungle with chickens, turkeys, cats, and dogs roaming freely. Their ten-year-old son, Carlos, proudly proclaims himself as a future master photography assistant and editor.
Studio
Ave Sol studio was the first in Puerto Vallarta to deliver photographs to clients within three weeks or less, and every couple is thrilled to receive a sneak-peek gallery on their wedding night. Each image is refined with impeccable attention to detail through their in-house editing process, designed by Kristians Sics. There are no generic filters; Ave Sol chooses to celebrate the natural beauty of colors.
Acomplishments
While Ave Sol has published images in many wedding magazines and blogs over the years, it has been a great career highlight to have the prestigious Carats & Cakes magazine recommend them. Ave Sol has worked with high-end clients such as Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato, and Bob Guiney. Each summer, the studio’s team gains fresh inspiration by shooting weddings in Europe, mainly in France and Latvia.
“We love to work with all couples, all traditions, everything outside traditions, same-gender couples, and couples with their own flower girls and ring bearers. Above all is love, which is always astonishingly photogenic,” says Eva.

Ave Sol Photography is Absolutely Amazing
They photographed both our rehearsal dinner and wedding day, capturing every emotion, detail, and moment with such warmth and artistry just as outlined in the Vision Board I created for them on Canva. From the second they arrived, Ava and Jessica brought calm, positive energy and made us feel completely at ease. They were professional, kind, and so intentional with every shot capturing the special moments, while keeping us on time. The way that Ava allows you to be yourself in front of the camera, while providing subtle tips and suggestions to improve the shot and capture what we were envisioning was incredibly helpful. We did not feel posed or overwhelmed with her guidance. The sneak peeks we’ve seen already look like they belong in a magazine and I cannot believe it is us in them. The lighting, framing, and emotion they captured in just a handful of images is breathtaking—and if this is just the preview, we cannot wait to see the full gallery.
We are beyond grateful for the way they documented our most important weekend, and we can already tell we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

The day of the wedding she and her assistant Memo arrived early and took charge! Jessica found the perfect place for our first look and family photos. She and Memo staged the room where I was getting ready and Memo even took over steaming the train of my dress.
Jessica is a genius behind the camera. Our photos came out better than I ever could have hoped. We had sneak peek photos before the end of the night and the rest of them within 3 weeks! It's so hard for me to choose which pictures to post here as an example because I love them all. I could not be happier with the final result.
