Athena Strings is a wedding ensemble based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Started by Lindsey Smith-Trostle in 2002, this group was originally founded to support female musicians in the industry. Today, they work with experienced and professional string players in Nashville to bring a serene and sophisticated sound to celebrations of all styles. Their repertoire features a diverse range of genres and can always include arrangements of couples’ favorite songs.

Services Offered

Athena Strings offers free consultations, during which they help clients choose the setlist, string instruments, and amount of musicians they’d like at their event. Once these have been selected, the ensemble will set up half an hour before the wedding and welcome guests with a prelude. They play the couples’ musical choices during the ceremony and perform a variety of melodies during the cocktail hour. These include contemporary favorites in pop, indie, and rock, as well as traditional numbers such as Celtic jigs, Classical arias, and Argentinian tangos.
