We're Afia and Adam. Husband and wife, both DJs, both deeply in love with music, hospitality, and celebrations done right. We built Ampersound Media Group around a simple belief: your wedding deserves people who actually care about what it sounds and feels like.

Both of us are DJs. But inside your wedding, we each bring something different.

Adam is your sound director. He builds a live sonic arc across your entire evening, reading the room and mixing in real time. He doesn't play playlists. He creates a conversation between the music and your people, from the first guest arrival through the last song of the night.

Afia is your MC and host. A published spoken word artist with nearly a decade of stages behind her (opening for Rupi Kaur's world tour, performing for 10,000+ at Smith's Ballpark, winning poetry slams across four states, and founding her own monthly open mic series), she brings the same presence to your wedding that she brings to a stage, but scaled to feel intimate. She guides your evening with warmth, keeps your timeline tight, and makes every transition feel intentional.

Together: one person shaping what your wedding sounds like, one shaping what it feels like. Both deeply prepared, fully present, working as one unit.

We commit to one wedding per day. We arrive early. We coordinate with your planner, venue, and vendors. Full ceremony audio, wireless mics, reception production, and breakdown are all handled.

Something we offer that no one else does: Afia writes and performs original spoken word pieces. For a ceremony opening, a vow transition, a toast, or any moment you want to mark with something deeper than a playlist change. Custom-written to your story, performed live, completely optional. For the couples who choose it, it tends to become the moment guests remember most.

We start with a real conversation, not a form. We want to know what music means to you, what your family dynamics look like, and what you're excited for. By the time your day arrives, we know your people and your vision well enough that everything feels effortless.
