Misty and her team did a great job for my daughter's wedding! We needed tables, chairs, tent and more for an outdoor wedding. She was informative and very flexible in meeting our timelines. Being a marketing executive who handles events regularly, I would highly recommend Alston Event Rentals and will surely use them again.

Breach of Contract by Owner
I placed an order on 4/18/2019 for a 20x20 tent, (specifically not a high peak tent), 8 -60 in round tables and 64 chairs for a graduation celebration taking place 5/25/2019. (While it’s not a wedding all potential clients should be aware)
On May 22, 2019 I received a phone call from delivery personnel, Tim, confirming items to be delivered which now included an extra 20x40 high peak tent in addition to everything else. I told him I wasn’t sure that I ordered an extra high peak tent but since I was driving and couldn’t get to my invoice, I would call him back to confirm accuracy. We agreed to touch base in the morning, (the day of delivery).
On Thursday, May 23rd at 10:34am I received a call from Misty who identified herself as “Alston Rentals,” I had to ask her name twice as I couldn’t make out what she was saying. She started the conversation saying, “something about the high peak tent,” I said “yes, I didn’t order a high peak because I don’t really like them, the look like circus tents and... ” before I could finish explaining that they were trying to deliver two tents instead of one... she cut me off and told me I was being rude, I told her I wasn’t and to stop being defensive. That I just wanted to make sure they didn't think I was getting over on them, she said, “No one said you were! I’m not going to talk to you right now,” and hung up on me.
I called Tim and left him a voicemail to return my call. He called me back with Misty on speaker, who failed to introduce herself at the beginning of the call with him, but when I asked him what did he say to her that she was so nasty to me, she jumped in and hollered that I was the nasty one. I told her I refused to speak to her because she was unprofessional and disrespectful, she yelled that I had no choice but to speak to her because she was the owner and would cancel my order.
I attempted several times in speaking with Tim to have my order delivered, however he claimed that she demanded I speak to her or she would cancel delivery- I told him she was breaching the contract by cancelling - he said she said she could do whatever she wants as she was the owner and he couldn’t do anything.
Tim unsuccessfully played mediator over the phone going back and forth, pointing out that Misty claimed I asked her name twice.. and I said “and? I couldn’t hear her. I asked your name twice last night when you called Tim, and you didn’t get offended.” He said, “I’m used to people not understanding me when I speak and things like that don’t bother me.”
This is when I realized that this situation was absurd! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing and experiencing.
Tim did say he didn’t want to lose my business, however, I told him that I refused to speak to Misty to further escalate the issue and that all I wanted was my items delivered. He said that he felt I was being childish and that the order would be cancelled with a full refund.
I don’t work for Misty so I have no fear in letting her know that she is very unprofessional, disrespectful and condescending.
She acted like a five year old, throwing a tantrum by cancelling my order and delivery because I wouldn’t allow her to speak to me.
There was no real reason for her to speak to me after it was figured out, that there was one tent too many, other than to continue to escalate rather than defusing the situation just to prove a point.
I would NOT recommend this business as the owner is a bully who feels she can breach contracts over silly misunderstandings at her leisure. Her business is not even worthy of one star due to the owner’s impulsive and loose cannon behavior.
I know she cancelled to be malicious thinking I wouldn’t be able to rent anywhere else at the last minute, however, Coweta Equipment Rental was more than happy to provide more for less with a 100% discount of unprofessionalism!! I think some business owners like Misty allow success to get to their heads and tend to forget that there is competition ready and willing to do business with their unsatisfied customers!
