The folks at the Alerus Center are always great to work with and make planning an evening very easy. We've worked a number of weddings there that all of them were fantastic.

Everyone loved the food! We received multiple comments on the servers professionalism and how great the food was.

The Alerus Center does a really nice job on the food but they are the most expensive place in town. We had them serve a sit down supper with Deluxe Beef Tips, Chicken Cordon Blue and Vegetarian Pasta as the entrees. They were really good to work with on the planning and preparation and they worked with us on our last minute requests. There are 3 main ballrooms so you can have one ballroom for up to 320 guests but we were expecting close to 400 so we had 2 ballrooms (called ballroom 1-2-3 and 4). The ceilings are really high in there so decorating is a little daunting. We hired some outside lighting people and used our tall floral arrangements from the ceremony to decorate. Overall, we were very pleased with the Alerus Center. It is especially nice to have a hotel attached to the Alerus (Canad Inn) and that is where most of our family members stayed as well as across the street and down the street a block.

Very beautiful vendor space. They were very accommodating, and helpful with everything we wanted. Will recommend for sure.

Rented a ballroom for our wedding, and everything was wonderful. They required that we buy many things from their approved locations, which makes sense from a security standpoint but was a little offputting as many of the places were more expensive than the average.
Worth the money, definitely.

First off they have a great price for a ballroom for the day and that was $400 when I booked my reception. I had a small one with 40 people and one ballroom was plenty. Any bigger would have been overkill and they attempted to get me to have two ballrooms. If you KNOW you only need one, go with one. There was also more than enough space and I had a 16x16 foot dance floor. That cost me $200 and I think that was overpriced. Also, they charged us $13 for a 24 oz bottle of CIDER. Really, that's pretty ridiculous. I was told that it was 32 oz as well so that bothers me some. That's where my markdown in value comes from. The servers were really sweet however one was "color blind" as he put it so our red and blue stickers indicating chicken and beef got mixed up. My father was also served an extra plate and they didn't okay it with me. The man waiting on our head table was nice, though. The set up was nice with the tables, however, I was told that they would all have skirts on them to match the linens (black on black) and only the head table and cake tables had skirts. Disappointing since I could see all the table legs. I was dealing with one person when I first booked and switched to another who was professional but not friendly. It would have been better if she was friendly. Can't win them all I guess. Overall I think 4 stars is a good rating for them, and I would use them again. The baked chicken with au gratin potatoes were great and far superior to the sirloin tips. Thank you!

My feedback is mixed. Although I would probably hold an event at the Alerus again (their setup is well done), the lady that was assigned to our wedding seemed to have other things to do. In fact, she only met us the Thursday before our wedding!!! She had someone else do all the work for her since she was never available. If I were to go to the Alerus again, I would REQUEST DANIELLE!!!! SHE IS PHENOMENAL!!!!!!
That being said, the ballroom was nice, but don't expect much in regards to decorations or low cost... the ballroom alone was over $1000. As unimpressed as I was though, I would go back...
The "nice" thing is that they also cater and provide bar services. Although again the cost is extreme for the quality, and they didn't keep our glasses full of water/milk/wine as we had asked. Maybe next time
