We had originally hired Akbar as our caterer for our big Indian wedding in NJ in 2020, but due to COVID, we had to change plans (twice!) and decided to make Akbar our venue too. They were so kind about the two COVID postponements and working with them was super duper easy. We had had countless appetizers and entrees and that is all thanks to them! The food was AMAZING (as usual, they have a restaurant also that is just as amazing) and we got so many compliments on it! Love Akbar and I always will, they consistently crush it!

Akbar's food is second to none! Would recommend them to anyone and their professionalism and attention to all details is tremendous! Can't wait to use them for our next event.

We had a blast at our sangeet hosted at Akbar. We met with Sandeep a few times to discuss the details of our event (and to do a tasting to refine our all-vegetarian menu choices). Everything worked out even better than we'd imagined. Many of our guests commented on how good the food was. The space was a great canvas for our decorator to transform into what we'd envisioned, and it was amazing to see so many of our friends and family let loose and have fun. Sandeep accommodated our requests (some being a bit unusual), and in the end, he ended up personally setting up our name cards! Everything worked out really well -- wouldn't be surprised if many of our guests end up hosting their own events at Akbar too!

I had my sangeet party at Akbar and it was fabulous! My guests, a mix of indian and non indian guests, loved the food and the establishment itself! Many said that they would love to come back for dinner or lunch. The staff did a great job with presentation and service and a huge thanks to Sandeep for working so closely and patiently with us!

There are seldom moments in a wedding when the bride & groom can look back and say - this was perfection! For us, Sandeep & his team from Akbar are absolute perfection!

The food is incredible! We regularly dine at Akbar's Garden City location and we love their food. We love them so much that we had them cater our wedding weekend this past May. Across a number of days and events each showing was better than the last. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the food. Akbar specializes in all the different cuisines that make up 'Indian food' as well as popular Indo-Chinese dishes. Their deserts are eclectic and delicious. They have lots of experience catering both intimate & large gatherings. Their management will work with you closely to ensure each event's menu reflects your favorite dishes and vision. We would fully recommend Akbar catering for your special event!

Two pieces of advice:
1) pick your top 2 dishes as favorites/must-haves and express that to the team
2) let the team guide you for the rest of the menu - their experience and knowledge is far reaching!!

Akbar has a great food, their team was on point starting from the cocktail hours, to dinner till end of the night. Everyone loved their food and service. We would recommend to all.

great party, great food, great service. Only advice I would give is to make sure you gather all your belongings on the night of the event rather than waiting until the next day, otherwise you will have a hard time finding it!
