I got married in the Jackson Hole, WY area in July 2021 where finding a reputable cake designer was challenging unless I wanted to pay a fortune due to inflated Jackson Hole pricing. We found John at Absaroka Cake Company and never looked back!

CAKE TASTING: John opened his home bakery to my mother, sister, nephew, and me to taste a handful of cake flavors two months before the wedding. Here is when I knew we found our baker! Not a single cake did we dislike. Heck, I had never been a carrot cake fan until trying John's! Seriously the best carrot cake I have ever had. We ended up going with both the carrot cake and raspberry filled. I would have loved to go with the red velvet had I been able to have a third option. There was even leftover sample cake that we took home for my dad and fiancé to try. His icing is fabulous....mmmm.

DESIGN: Working through my cake design ideas with John was so easy. I shared with him sample photos of what I wanted, and he matched them while adding a bit of his much-encouraged creative flair! I even mailed him a few cake décor items I wanted to add to the cake and he added them with style.

DELIVERY: John delivered the cake to my location for a very reasonable fee, on time, and the cake looked AMAZING! I was blown away by how much the cake resembled my vision and met my expectations. The cake continued to stay beautiful throughout the entire ceremony and reception.

We had a great experience and loved our cake! We ordered it for our intimate wedding in Grand Teton National Park. I live in Texas so I did all of the communications over phone and email with the baker- he was great and made us just what we asked for! The cake was beautiful (sculpted Teton range in the frosting!) and tasted great (we got white cake with vanilla buttercream frosting- we even ate it the next day until it was all gone!)! Long story short I would DEFINITELY recommend this baker!

Have a backup plan if you book with Absaroka Cake! I would love to say I had the chance to eat this cake, but I never got that chance! I want to start off by saying I did get a full refund, but I didn’t get a tiered rustic wedding cake like I’d ordered.

My wedding was in August and I signed my contract with this vendor and paid in full in April. On the morning of our destination wedding (we’re from Ohio and planned everything remotely), our friend went to pick the cake up from Jackson 45 minutes away, only to find out there was no cake. At first, he said there was no record of the order. After I produced the evidence of the signed contract, the excuse was then he didn’t know what I wanted, even though it was defined in the contract. His idea of “making things right” was to sell me a leftover cake for a PARTIAL refund. How generous right?

After he agreed with my friend to give me a full refund, our friend, who is also from Ohio and has no idea what’s in Jackson, had to scramble around trying to get us some sort of wedding cake to enjoy on our big day. It was stressful for everyone, to say the least.
