Gina was absolutely amazing start-finish. Venue was perfect inside and out. Very responsive to all inquires. Great help in finding other local venders and the support needed for our event. Can’t think of a single negative about our experiences! Will use again for other events in the future for sure

Amanda was amazing and professional. She made everything stress free, and it was a beautiful wedding. The food and the staff were outstanding!

801 Ocean was perfect! The venue was gorgeous and Lisa was so helpful and a pleasure to work with.

Our wedding was more than I could have imaged. The venue itself is a decent size. We had about 75 guest and were able to have a big space for a dance floor. With simple decorations the venue itself brought the place together. Lastly the point of contact was very responsive and quickly answered any questions I had.

Venue is very beautiful, however, the manager named Lisa is very rude. She was rude to the whole bridal party, bride groom, and all the groomsmen. She was very unprofessional and made the day for a lot of people miserable. Weddings are supposed to be the best day of your life, and she is bound, and determined to ruin them, if you want a happy time behind-the-scenes of your wedding, do not rent this venue until they change the manager.

I have been putting off writing a review for months now because I hate to think of my wedding in a negative light at all. I got married here in February, and I will start with the positives. The price in comparison to similar venues is unbeatable. Having access to the venue a day ahead is amazing. The venue is gorgeous. All that being said, it may have actually been worth spending a whole lot more money to use another venue. It makes me feel sick to talk bad about someone, and I will say, the venue coordinator was okay via email correspondence. Once the rehearsal dinner began, the venue coordinator had a terrible attitude from the start. I tried and tried all of the rehearsal dinner to be extra friendly and make her life easier because I wanted her to be in a good mood so the wedding day would be smooth. It didn't work. The next morning, I arrived to the venue with my girls and was IMMEDIATELY met by her bad attitude and barking orders that didn't make any sense. God bless my coordinator and MOH who had to deal with her all day because I literally couldn't. I started off the day upset because of her. Many things happened throughout the night that I was not even aware of until after the wedding was over (again God bless my people for dealing with her.) One of the biggest things that absolutely blew my mind was that she literally pulled my husband out of processional, pulled the GROOM out of processional at CEREMONY TIME as he was ABOUT TO WALK DOWN THE AISLE stating something might be a breach of contract and she needs a credit card at that very second. She had my credit card on file, a security deposit, and a list of people to contact on the day of the wedding so the bride and groom do not have to be bothered. I am SO angry about this. The next biggest problem was probably her literally red faced screaming at my family to get out of the building after the wedding ONE HOUR before the CONTRACTED TIME. I was also told by some of my vendors that she was very rude to them. This venue is absolutely gorgeous and would have been perfect, but the venue coordinator really ruined it. Ruined it so bad, I don't think I can recommend this venue to anyone. In fact, we told one of our friends who were about to book the venue not to do it. I will say there was one woman who covered for the main venue coordinator for a few hours who was very nice and friendly and asked how she could help. This venue would be perfect, but oak island really needs to listen to the community and have someone else be the face of this place!
