Deciding to have our special day at the Overhills mansion was one of the easiest tasks we encountered planning our wedding. The value for the money spent was shown in the quality of the venue, expertise in professionalism, and kindness from the staff. They were able to meet our budget needs and most importantly worked with you immensely on what you want, not what they think you need. You are set up with a portal to stay on track and make tasks easy for you. We emailed, texted, and called during various parts of our planning and never waited for responses.
The venue is beautiful inside and out. We wanted to have our family and friends comfortable attending a hot summer night wedding. We loved that our guests weren't confined to one room and had the option to move around. We loved that we could pick where to have our ceremony: inside, outside, tent, etc. The ballroom, bar area, veranda, tents, foyer, and getting ready rooms were clean, cool and beautifully decorated even before we added our own.
To start, the food which is all prepared in house was 5-star hands down! Baltimore crab cakes and filet to die for! All the food was beautifully presented. Homemade and farm to table dishes, plenty of options, apps and late-night fare. Even our wedding cake was prepared for us! They have the best culinary and pastry chefs around... and we are foodies!!! Check out their Chef's dinner nights, you will not be disappointed!!
The staff was very professional and wholesome. They didn't act as if we were a check, but more like friends and real people-happy to be a part of our day. They are all experienced in the wedding business and have networking capabilities with others that will have your wedding being the best party of the year! We are still getting calls from family and friends about how much fun they had at our wedding and how awesome our venue was. Do not overlook Overhills! Believe me when I say the other places you are visiting are a huge waste of your planning time! -

Lynda did such an amazing job coordinating and helping my husband and I with the wedding planning process. She made everything feel seamless. The venue is beautiful and spacious. What I mostly loved were the options we had in choosing where we want to have the ceremony and reception. The staff is very accommodating and listened to our needs, which is imperative to achieve a successful wedding day. Overall, we had a wonderful experience! -

If you're considering Overhills Mansion as your venue, DO IT!! We got married at the mansion on April 10th and our day could not have been more magical — special thanks to our amazing planner Lynda and day-of-coordinator Karen. They took care of everything, I had to make 0 decisions on the wedding day. The food was amazing, our DJ (Leni) was amazing, the photo booth was a huge hit. 10000/10. -

We just had our March 2026 wedding here and WOW I could not recommend a venue site more. Overhills Mansion was such an amazing venue - from our initial tour last year, to the months of thoughtful planning communication with Lynda, to the amazing day of coordinating work with Karen, the Overhills team is truly a 10/10. If you're looking for an estate wedding with beautiful, warm colors, amazing construction and build, thoughtful and kind staff, and amazing food, you really should consider touring. We had 117 guests at our wedding and everyone fit so comfortably, plus we had so much additional space for the reception to use for fun extras (we had a cigar and bourbon bar outside plus we used a verandah room for table games). This venue also provided us so many things included with our package that made everything so convenient (chairs, tables, linens, bartenders plus smaller things for rent at affortable prices like table frames and votives). In all honestly, I encountered NO frustrations, snags or disruptions throughout the wedding planning process with Overhills which I imagine is rare. Lynda and Karen were absolute professionals who honestly made wedding planning so easy for us. The price for what you get with this venue is great and we are so so happy that we had our wedding here! Some of our guests said it felt so intimate and romantic, like they were in our cozy home. -

We had our wedding at Whitehouse Caterers at Overhills Mansion on January 9th, and it was truly perfect. The mansion was still beautifully decorated for Christmas, which added such a magical and cozy feel to our winter wedding.
Lauren, our planner, was absolutely amazing to work with. She was incredibly responsive and accommodating through multiple décor changes and made the entire planning process feel easy and stress-free. We used Something Borrowed Blooms for our florals, and the venue graciously decorated the reception space with them. It turned out even better than I imagined.
Lauren also created our sweetheart cake, which was not only stunning but delicious. I’m genuinely looking forward to having another slice on our anniversary. Karen and her team of day-of coordinators and staff were delightful, professional, and so kind, making sure everything ran smoothly.
The chef and culinary team prepared an outstanding meal. Hands down one of the best wedding dinners we’ve ever had. Even with a few last-minute guest cancellations, everything went seamlessly.
I had the most amazing day and night, and I am so grateful we found this venue. The people, the service, the food, and the atmosphere were all exceptional. I cannot recommend Whitehouse Caterers at Overhills Mansion enough. -

Lynda and her team did an amazing job planning with us for a perfect wedding day. If you’re getting married in the greater DC/Baltimore area, I would absolutely recommend Overhills Mansion for your venue. The mansion itself is beautiful and historic, with a nice view out the back and plenty of parking for your guests. There are a variety of indoor and outdoor areas (porches, a patio, a heated tent for winter, a lovely event hall, a built in bar room) to work with for the ceremony and reception. From our first meeting, Lynda made us feel like part of the family. She was an absolute professional walking us through the options for food and event flow. Overhills was a one stop shop and their vendor lists gave you plenty of variety to choose from (all of them top rated) which was extremely helpful in guiding our search as we were planning our wedding from the West Coast. I can’t say enough good things about the quality of the food. We had multiple chefs in our party and they were wowed by the menu and presentation. Having the upstairs of the venue for the entire day to get ready with our party and relax prior to the ceremony was invaluable. We had an absolute blast and have gotten so many compliments from our guests on the entire event and that is all thanks to Lynda and the Overhills team! -

Highly recommend!!
Overhills mansion was amazing! They made my dream wedding come true. I loved that the venue was all inclusive so I didn't have to worry about booking a ton of vendors like catering, desserts, day of coordinator, etc. Lynda was my planner and was super helpful throughout the process. Destiny was my day of coordinator and she was phenomenal! Every time I turned around she was right there anticipating my needs or dropping off food/drinks for me to enjoy. Definitely recommend having a wedding at Overhills :) -

I am the owner and lead photographer for Formica Studios (www.formicastudios.com), and I have been photographing and filming weddings for over 25 years. My team and I had the absolute pleasure of providing both photography and videography this past Saturday at Overhills Mansion in Catonsville, Maryland—and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue and its staff.
From the moment we arrived, the site coordinator, Karen, was composed, prepared, and completely in tune with every detail of the day. Her warmth, professionalism, and calm presence set the tone for a truly beautiful celebration. Both the ceremony and reception took place on-site, and she managed every transition with ease.
As a photographer, I deeply appreciate a coordinator who understands timing, flow, and the importance of communication. Karen excelled in all of these. She ensured everyone was where they needed to be, gently guiding the wedding party and family with kindness and confidence. Because of her seamless coordination, the day flowed effortlessly—allowing the bride, groom, and their families to be fully present and enjoy every moment.
I also want to highlight the outstanding work of her entire staff. They were attentive, gracious, and consistently one step ahead. And the food—simply exceptional. It was clear that great care and pride went into every dish.
Karen’s thoughtful touches, attention to detail, and genuine care for the couple were evident throughout the entire day. Coordinators like her elevate a wedding from simply well-planned to truly unforgettable. I sincerely look forward to working with her again and highly recommend her to any couple seeking someone who brings excellence, grace, and heart to their wedding day. -

Overhills Mansion is the best place to have a wedding. I’m admittedly a little biased since my wedding was there. But when I tell you that this woman owned, woman-run business is incredible, it doesn’t even begin to cut it. From booking, Lynda and Lauren were responsive and professional. This is not a place that is going to leave you hanging at any point. They will be in touch with you the whole process. The day of the wedding, Julia was with us and she is the best person ever. So bubbly and interactive, and she made everything so special. She is amazing at what she does. The food was incredible. People raved about it. It is like fancy restaurant quality food. The staff was amazing. We are just over the moon. -

Overhills Mansion was a dream! The planning team was so professional and on top of all the small details. We first met Karen, who really made the venue work for our needs, and then worked with Lynda for the rest of our planning; Lynda was amazing! Overhills Mansion is absolutely wonderful, and I wouldn't have wanted to have my wedding anywhere else! The staff is incredible, and the venue is extremely accommodating and customizable. When you book with Overhills, the venue assigns wedding planners from their staff and day-of coordinators. We worked with Lynda and Karen, and they were deeply dedicated to executing our vision for our wedding. They were creative with solutions to challenges, know their venue like the back of their hands, and helped walk us through the planning process--ensuring we didn't forget about any details. They were flexible with our vendors, and with our use of the venue space. They are also both a perfect balance of both kind, but also level-headed, providing a calm and understanding but practical perspective on all wedding details. They guided us through the whole wedding day from start to finish, and ensured the day was smooth, and that I didn't have to worry about anything. Going with Overhills is one of the best decisions I made while planning my wedding, and I HIGHLY recommend you do the same!! They provide TOP notch service. -

Choosing Overhills was the best decision we made for the wedding. Our planners Lynda and Lauren were very professional and easy to work with throughout the entire process. They answered our questions in a timely manner, were always well prepared and energized for meetings, and made coordinating with our many vendors very easy. From our very first visit/tour with Karen, we fell in love with the venue. We knew we wanted a fall wedding, and the outdoor areas/options at Overhills are phenomenal. There are multiple options for where you can have your ceremony and reception, and most of those options are weather-friendly. We got married in the tent, had cocktail hour outside/on the patio, and then had our reception in the ballroom.
When it came to the planning process, it was amazing to work alongside Lauren and Lynda. They are both extremely professional, organized, detail-oriented, and kind. They really kept us on track with our planning tasks, and helped us develop our vision. They really supported us every step of the way when it came to venue logistics and our overall day. We also loved that we could rent out decor through the venue - made it so easy for us, and we didn't have to worry about purchasing or reselling anything.
Julia was our day-of-coordinator, and ran our rehearsal. We cannot say enough amazing things about her. Her energy is amazing. We did not worry about a single thing on our wedding day because she had everything well under control. It's clear how much experience she has, and how much shares about each couple and making their day perfect.
Last, but certainly not least, the food was outstanding. Having planners and caterers be part of our venue package was one of the best decisions we could've made for ourselves. It made the planning process so much smoother. We went to a dinner at Overhills to eat some of their food before deciding on our menu. We were simply blown away, and that made us more excited about our choice to host our wedding here. For our cocktail hour, we had pretzel bites, grilled cheese and tomato bites, spinach and artichoke dip, fruits, veggies, chicken terriyaki skewers. For our entrees, we offered a choice of short ribs or Chesapeake chicken (alongside bread, a salad and sides). For dessert, we brought in a cake, but also had their icecream sundae bar. We also got ready at the venue and ordered some of their sliders while getting our hair/makeup done.
Everyone who came to our wedding raved about the outdoor space, the grilled cheese and tomato bites, their entrees, and the icecream sundae bar. As a couple, we are so glad people had a good time and enjoyed themselves and their food. We had the most perfect day we could've imagined, and cannot express our gratitude for Overhills enough (the venue, and the staff (planners + caterers) -

My husband and I loved having our five year vow renewal at Overhills Mansion! We received so many compliments from our guests on the beauty of the venue and the service of the staff. The day was magical from start to finish. We originally picked the mansion because we wanted a venue that had catering on site—and let me tell you, the food is delicious! But a HUGE plus is that they offer so much support in the planning of the day, from vendor recommendations to on-site planning meetings and more. Our event planner, Lauren, was spectacular at helping us put together all the little details that made our day special. I could always come to her with any questions I had, and she was ready with expert advice. In addition, our day-of coordinator, Lynda, made sure the day’s events ran in a smooth and timely manner, and our whole wedding party enjoyed working with her. So much goes into planning a wedding, and it can be overwhelming at times; it makes such a difference to have a team like the staff at Overhills that is there to support you throughout the entire process. This is the letter that we wrote to the spectacular team at Overhills Historic Mansion in Catonsville, MD after our daughter's October 2024 wedding.
I just wanted to thank Overhills for the spectacular job that your excellent staff performed for our daughter's beautiful October wedding at Overhills Mansion this past weekend. I don't even know where to begin! From the year-long planning with Lynda to the extraordinary work accomplished by Overhills' "dream team" of Karen, Lynda & company planning/orchestrating every last detail down to the floral/decorative tablescapes, mansion decor, the logistics of the event supported by a first rate crew along with delicious menu, the double bar set up & fantastic music to the overall experience of the wedding celebration, the day could not have been any more perfect! Everything was on-point & a lovely time was had by all of our guests. My texts have been pinging non-stop ever since with praise for both your venue & all who helped to make the day run seamlessly. The food was incredible & service excellent. The recommended musicians were also a huge hit. The Bachelor Boys Band along with their string duo & cocktail hour jazz ensemble further contributed to the festive atmosphere of the night. The hard work undertaken by you two amazing ladies & your incredible staff truly showed down to the smallest detail. I could go on, but suffice it to say that we made the best decision to have our daughter's wedding at Overhills. It has been a pleasure working with and getting to know you both over the past year. You ladies will forever hold a very special place in our hearts. Our entire family is very thankful for everything that you & your staff put forth into making the day a magical & joyous occasion to remember.

Every single person we interacted with made the process seamless and memorable.
We decided to book in January 2023 based on the tour Karen gave us. She was so transparent and welcoming and we had not felt that at any other venue tour. She then handled our private tasting and it was so fun and we got to each so much amazing food. She has such a great personality and always made us feel welcome!
Lynda was our event coordinator and I cannot express how incredible she is. She answered all of my questions and my parents questions with so much kindness and patience. She truly knows how to understand what people what or what they are asking and that is such a special skill to have. She made my entire vision come to life and helped me so much creatively! Also, she never input her own opinions unless I asked for them, but i loved hearing what she thought for design ideas. She was able to set up early before our rehearsal and the venue was beautiful! She even stopped by in the morning to say hi and see how everything was coming together, which meant a lot to me when I saw her because we worked together for such a long time.
Julia was our day of coordinator and she made the day go so smoothly. Julia- I hope you see this because you rock girl! The groom and groomsmen were confused and nervous about what the plan for the day was and she sat down with them in their suite and made sure to answer all of their questions and make them feel comfortable. She had mimosas constantly flowing in the bridal suite and we were even able to borrow speakers and a blanket. She made sure everyone in the wedding party had their drink orders taken and then delivered during our cocktail hour photos and then made sure I never had to get my own drink for the rest of the night. My favorite part of the entire evening was when I told her about how nervous I was the whole day and didn’t eat much but was hoping to have some more bread to not get sick from drinking and she brought me an entire bread basket to have during the reception. There were so many highlights during that night that I could praise each member for, but the review would be too long!
TLDR- AMAZING food (seriously everyone kept praising it, especially the grilled cheese and tomato soup), amazing staff, and beautiful venue. My husband and I both said we would get married again and redo everything the same way because of how perfect Overhills mansion made everything for us! -

We just had our wedding at Overhills, and we can't stop gushing about how great the place and the people were. Great atmosphere and great team. The mansion felt very homey, warm, and welcoming. The team, whether they are assigned to your event or not, were very helpful, welcoming, and accommodating. The whole team will definitely help you execute your wedding as smoothly and as stress-free as possible. The catering team was also wonderful. Food tasted and looked amazing.
They were also the first people to give us a gift. We had a guest sign on canvas with a hand-made "picture" covering a spot for our future wedding picture, and Julia sneakily printed a picture of us and replaced the hand-made "picture" as a surprise for us. -

Look no further for a wedding venue! Lauren and Lynda were the most amazing planners to make the best day of our lives become reality. As someone who didn’t hire a separate planner, they were super responsive to any questions we had, gave great suggestions, and were extremely helpful in making all the little details come together over the course of our planning. We really appreciated how the venue was accompanied with catering as well as a list of vendors to choose from that were recommended / highly rated. You could still make everything your own but they helped provide a framework which was much better than working from a blank slate. The food was incredible and we loved the farm to table quality of ingredients. Everyone was raving how good the food was. The mansion itself is so beautiful and I received so many compliments from my guests. We added details to make it our own but similarly, it already is charming on its own. We loved how it was both inside the ballroom/bar and outside in the back by the patio and trees so guests could step in and out at their leisure. On the day, the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Truly could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you Overhills for making our dream wedding come true! -

It’s no understatement to say that the Overhills team MADE our wedding day! Weddings can be stressful, and the team made everything flow seamlessly, so we could be present and enjoy the day. We’re endlessly grateful to y’all! :’)
Our wonderful experience started with Karen, who showed us the venue and talked through all our options for planning the perfect event. Her vendor recommendations were top-tier and we’re so grateful for her guidance as we picked our venue.
We then worked with Lauren to plan all the details in the months leading up to the event. Lauren is AMAZING!! Incredibly detail-oriented and so patient as we thought through different options (ranging from add-ons, to our menu, to decor). She’s a delight to work with, and we’re so grateful that she was in our corner in the months leading up to the wedding.
As the date approached, we worked closely with Lynda, who was amazing in ensuring that the wedding week went smoothly. She has an incredible eye for detail, arranging our wedding decor beautifully and helping us stay organized as we wrangled alcohol deliveries and last-minute details.
As the ceremony time approached, Mark stepped in. He is phenomenal! Mark kept us on schedule and calm, wrangling guests and ensuring that everything was in place for a great night.
The bartenders and other staff were amazing as well! Thanks for taking such great care of our guests! :)
TLDR: if you’re on the fence about having your wedding at Overhills- this is your sign! The venue is gorgeous, the food is amazing, and the team is the best you could wish for. It takes a village to plan a wedding, and I’m so grateful for ours :) -

Provided the perfect day
Choosing Whitehouse Caterers at Overhills Mansion was a great decision! They made everything so easy and manageable. Great communication from start to finish. The venue had many areas for us to utilize. Our ceremony was in the garden, reception and cocktail on the deck and tent, and dinner in the dining room. The getting ready areas for the wedding party were beautiful and accommodating. The food was AMAZING! On the day, there were many hands working behind the scenes and I am grateful to all of them. However, one in particular needs a special shout out... Mark! Wow! He was working magic. From making sure we had everything we needed to hiding behind my veil so he wouldn't get caught in photos and my veil wouldn't drag on the lot. I didn't know he was doing that until my dad told me after! HAHA. He made everything go off without a hitch. All the staff at Whitehouse Caterers were amazing and I am grateful for how easy they made things for me. -

We had the smoothest process working with Overhills Mansion and the Whitehouse Caterers team (special shout-out to Mark and Lynda, especially)!! The food was delicious and plentiful. The venue is beautiful. Even though it rained on our wedding day, the "plan B" location was equally as amazing. Staff were always responsive and attentive to our needs. We were able to visit the venue as many times as we wanted to test out table settings, talk through wedding details, and walk around the site. All of our decorations were set up as discussed, on-time, and adjusted as needed. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and are very happy with how everything turned out! -

Great All Inclusive Venue
Whitehouse Caterers at Overhills Mansion was a great venue! I loved being able to have our ceremony and reception in one place and be able to get ready on the property. Amazing Venue!
If I could give 100 stars I would! The entire team at Overhills Mansion went above and beyond to make our day amazing! Mark, Lynda and the rest of the team worked tirelessly to meet all of our needs and answer all of our questions quickly and completely. They were able to provide incredible recommendations for vendors as well as let us shift around costs for things we didn't need (we did a sparkler send off instead of a sweetheart cake.)
P.S If you are looking for a venue to have a TRUE Pittsburgh Cookie Table, this is it! Family and friends were able to bring them the day of, when they arrived at the venue and they were accepted at the door and arranged beautifully. -

They were super helpful with any question i had (And i had many lol) and were super friendly. The pricing in my opinion was well worth it, the mansion is absolutely beautiful. They have different wedding packages and i decided to do a micro-wedding, which was a miracle that they offered that because not that many places do micro wedding anymore. We had our January 2022 wedding at Overhills Mansion in Catonsville, and we can't recommend this venue enough!
We found Overhills on WeddingWire about a year prior and visited the venue. We fell in love with the space — it was absolutely beautiful. Simple but elegant, which fit our vision for our wedding. Anyway, I can go on and on about Overhills because we loved them so much. But here are some highlights:
1. Communication: We worked with Lauren, Lynda and Mark. Lynda was actually our wedding planner and Mark was our day of coordinator. They were all so amazing and quick to respond to any of our questions. They made sure our day went as planned and it did!
2. The food: We loved our menu and so did our guests! There were a lot of food options and everything was seasonal and fresh. We got the lamb and salmon, cooked to perfection. Overhills actually hosts menu tastings each month, which you can attend as part of your package. We were able to go to two tasting nights as part of our package and try out different selections. Those tasting nights were so fun, and we actually plan on attending more in the future just for a date night.
3. Great value: We ultimately chose Overhills because you get a lot of bang for your buck. You get an on-site event planner, which really helped us with the smallest details. We didn't have to stress about the linens, glassware, tables, chairs, etc. - they had a lot of options you can choose from. You also get plenty of time at the venue which made things really convenient if you plan on getting ready there.
All in all, Overhills is a fantastic wedding venue! We're so glad we went with them! -

Look No Further
I cannot say enough complimentary things about Overhills and their staff. We worked with Lynda for more than 2 years of planning, including during a COVID postponement, and on the day of. Having to postpone due to the pandemic was devestating, and the staff at Overhills was graceful and understanding, and made us reassured that we would still get our day. Lynda is FANTASTIC. She was patient, helpful, responsive, organized, and put my husband and I completely at ease the day of our wedding. I had complete faith in her making our wedding dream into reality. Overhills provided a place for us to get ready the day of, including private suites and snacks/drinks to make us comfortable as we prepared. She helped decorate for the ceremony and reception and completely captured my vision. The dinner was delicious -- locally sourced and beautifully prepared (we had butternut squash soup, pumpkin-encrusted trout, steak, green beans and smashed gouda potatoes). Their coordination with all of our other vendors was flawless. If there were ever any issues the day of, Lynda handled them without my knowledge of there ever being an issue! We got married on New Years Eve and Overhills went above and beyond a "typical" wedding ceremony & reception to make our wedding truly one of a kind! I could go on and on about what a truly awesome venue Overhills is; you will not be disappointed. -

My daughter and son in law made a great decision in selecting Overhills Mansion as their wedding venue. Every person that we dealt with was very professional. I would like to especially recognize Linda. We could just tell that nothing was going to slip by her, no matter what! She really set my daughter at ease knowing she was in good hands. To top it all off, Linda ended up being her day-of coordinator! We could not have been happier! I know Linda went above and beyond in a few circumstances that we encountered. (Overzealous NYE Wedding guests😉.)
The food was delicious and artistically prepared and presented. The venue looked beautiful and festive. The upstairs portion of the mansion available for getting ready, was recently updated and very accommodating ( if not a bit too warm up there- it was a very warm 60-65 degrees out on NYE!)
We would not hesitate to use this venue again. -

Overhills Mansion was the perfect place for our wedding reception! The location is great because it allows your guests to stay in downtown Baltimore and still easily get to the venue under 15 minutes. The staff was very professional and friendly, and the complimentary day of planner helped make the event run smoothly. It rained a bit on our wedding day but that did not matter thanks to not only the beautiful ball room but also the additional space under the tent in the backyard. The food was delicious and not having to hire a caterer made planning easy. We would highly recommend Overhills to anyone looking to get married or have their reception in the Baltimore area! -

Overhills mansion was one of the first venues we toured when we started planning our wedding. We immediately knew it was the place for us. We were originally set with a December 2020 date, but of course like many other couples, had to postpone due to the pandemic. The staff at Overhills helped us navigate this process with ease and we were quickly rescheduled for December 2021. Lynda was so wonderful to work with throughout the wedding planning process. She was responsive and flexible, had great insight, and was always on top of everything.
Mark handled our day-of wedding coordination like an absolute star. Our wedding party, families, and many of our guests commented about how he kept everything running so smoothly. Between Lynda and Mark, they made sure everything was perfect, which meant we had nothing left to do but really enjoy ourselves.
Because we had a December wedding, the mansion was decorated for the holidays, which meant we could go light on the florals and let the venue speak for itself. We couldn't have been happier with the look and feel of the entire day. The food was delicious, the space flowed perfectly from tent to bar to ballroom, and our guests had an absolute blast. We look forward to coming back to many restaurant nights in the future. I would 100% recommend this venue to other couples looking to get married in the Baltimore area. -

I do not have enough great things to say about Overhills Mansion and their staff. We worked with Lynda throughout the wedding planning process (had to change our date 3 times due to COVID) and every interaction was so pleasant and comforting. I heard so many horror stories from other brides and their venues not working with them in regards to COVID post-ponements and I am so lucky we had such great people at Overhills to work with. Lynda made sure we had every detail covered and made the planning process so easy and answered our last minute questions promptly. Our day of coordinator was Mark and he was just outstanding. He made sure the bridal party and groomsmen had everything needed throughout the day and that everything was set up how I envisioned it. Throughout the evening, Mark hustled around and made sure that my husband and I had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. We had so many compliments from guests on the aesthetic of the building, the food, and the service they received from Mark and his staff. Lauren made our cake and cupcakes and omg, they were good! Another great thing about this venue is that they provide the food, tables, tablecloths, chairs, bartenders etc and they are partnered with a vendor, The Wine Bin, for liquor which was also a delight to work with. I truly cannot imagine getting married anywhere else since we had such a pleasant experience with Overhills Mansion. Having our wedding at Overhills was one of the best decisions we ever made! Their team is absolutely phenomenal! The two main individuals I worked with during the planning and day of (Lynda and Mark) were the most organized, caring, and responsive individuals ever! Overhills' Caterer (Whitehouse) was amazing, our guests really enjoyed everything from appetizers to the main course. From the beginning to end they handled everything so perfectly, that if there was a flaw I did not notice. I cannot say enough good things about this place, and we would get married here over and over again if we could! The ballroom is beautiful, the outdoor ceremony space as well! We loved this venue!
We are so happy we went with Whitehouse Caterers at Overhills Mansion for our wedding. We visited a dozen other venues in the DMV and decided on Overhills pretty much immediately after leaving the venue. We wanted a venue we knew would be nice for an indoor wedding because we were getting married in January, but their outdoor space is also beautiful for an outdoor ceremony. We are happy we chose this place because it is a beautiful Mansion, the Whitehouse Caterers employees were excellent, we still hear about how good the food was from our guests, it’s convenient to BWI for our out-of-towners, and the price was reasonable for everything the venue provided.
When you book WHC you get a wedding planner, day of coordinator, bartenders, staff, linens, and additional perks such as separate getting ready spaces for the bride and the groom. Jessica was our wedding planner and made the entire process as easy as it could be for us. We met with her to plan our wedding day several months out and again about a week before the wedding to make sure all the fine details are ironed out. Rosie was our day-of-coordinator and she was wonderful! She made sure our ceremony went smoothly and made sure we were taken care of the entire night.
Make sure to go to the tasting event hungry! The selection is so large that we ‘tasted’ enough food to eat about three full meals. All of the food was good, but the pumpkin seed encrusted trout, grilled cheese & tomato soup “shooter” and cannolis were our (and our guests) favorites.
WHC supplies their own bartenders and partners with The Wine Bin as their liquor providers. We loved they do this because you only pay for what your guests drink at liquor store prices. It saved us about $2k on alcohol compared to venues that offer flat fees per guest and we got to choose whichever brands we wanted including some fun local beers.
Overall, White House Caterers at Overhills Mansion did a fantastic job hosting our wedding and we would recommend them to anyone getting married in this area. Their employees are wonderful and the food is excellent. The price was reasonable for everything Overhills provides, as other venues we looked at were around 30% more for a similar package. -

Whitehouse Caterers at Overhills Mansion was the best caterer and venue we could have hoped for. This was only the second place we visited as an option, and we knew from our first visit that this is where we wanted to get married! Our first visit was with Terri who provided us with a full tour of the facility and a cost estimate for what we had in mind for our day. Most of my communication thereafter was with Lynda, who I cannot say enough good things about. She answered every email in a timely manner, met with us at least 3 times (probably more) to go over logistics or any concern I had, and I was lucky enough to have her there the day of our wedding as well. We had a very specific vision, as our wedding was Alice in Wonderland themed, and they were not only accommodating with our vision, but also went above and beyond to make everything perfect for us. We had our ceremony and reception there with a brunch buffet for dinner, and all of our guests raved about the service and the food. We also had a short rehearsal there the week of the wedding where we met our day-of coordinator, Rosie, who was an amazing help the day of, especially with our ceremony. We provided directions for the staff set up all of our centerpieces, aisle markers, and all of our decor for us, which was a HUGE help. The waitstaff and bartenders even seemed like they were having a good time with our guests!
Some things to keep in mind:
PLEASE NOTE that these are not complaints, simply things to consider when choosing this venue.
1. We got married mid afternoon on a Sunday because we wanted to be the only wedding that day. If you get married on a Saturday, there will likely be another wedding either before or after you.
2. You are able to drop off your decorations a few days before your event, but you will need to have help with getting all of your decorations out on the day of. You are not able to pick anything up the next day.
3. While we had a rehearsal, it was on the Thursday before our Sunday wedding, we were not able to have this scheduled until one month before the wedding, which I'll admit was a little stressful, but honestly, it’s completely understandable. It is unrealistic to expect a venue to hold the space open for you on a Saturday for a $50 rehearsal fee when they should be booking another wedding or event that day.
Overall, Overhills and Whitehouse Caterers was the absolute best venue we could have hoped for. I cannot recommend them enough, especially Lynda and Rosie!

Overhills Mansion is THE place to get married at in the DMV. From the beginning, the entire staff was responsive and friendly, and remained that way throughout the entire process. Lynda was our event coordinator, and she made sure every detail was covered. Rossi was our day of coordinator, and despite only meeting her at the rehearsal, it felt like we had a friend in our corner that day and the day of the wedding. The staff is flexible and accomodating, the entire affair is more affordable than anywhere else we looked and still held its value, and the space is beautiful, inside and out. The food was also mind-blowingly delicious, and having catering on site put a lot of worries at ease. Working with the Wine Bin is great as well, as you can customize your bar to your crowd and you only pay for already opened alcohol, which enables you to save a lot of money over paying per person for an open bar. We really can't say enough good things about Overhills! Thank you everyone. -

The second we walked into Overhills for our tour, we knew it was the place we wanted to get married. This 100 year old mansion was absolutely beautiful on the inside! The space was perfect for our 120 guest wedding. We had the ceremony and reception on-site. The transition was flawless. I loved that the caterer was on-site and used locally sourced farm to table ingredients. The Overhills staff was always easily reachable whenever I had any question or concern. The fact that this is a BYOB venue was a HUGE plus (not only for cost reasons, but their supplier The Wine Bin was extremely easy to work with, provided delivery, and we were able to return any unopened alcohol). On the second floor, there is a whole wing for the bride side to get ready in (complete with foosball table, sofas, multiple vanities, and a private room to put your wedding dress on!). On the opposite side is the groom's suite with another foosball table, couches, etc. The exterior of the venue is picture perfect even in our mid-November wedding. All our guests complimented how good the food was and how beautiful the venue was! I almost wish I can get married again (but once was enough and our day was perfect!) Thank you Lynda, Lauren, and Terry, who made the planning process incredibly easy. You guys are a wonderful team!!! -

I did my tour with Lauren, and she worked with me through the whole process. She is so sweet! She took the time to help us with picking our menu, etc. and was always available via email. Secondly, I love how they lump together so many services - you make your different selections and you get one quote that includes the food, the tables/chairs, set up and breakdown, staffing, and the venue rental. No hidden charges. I appreciated this straightforward pricing a lot. They also have a beautiful bridal suite I chose to rent -- I definitely recommend this!! The bridal suite was very nice and they stocked it with crackers, cheese, juice, water, and other snacks. It's a great place for your makeup artist to do everyone's makeup. They also have relationships with different preferred vendors that make choosing your other vendors quite easy. Whitehouse Caterers @ Overhills Mansion also provided me with a day of wedding coordinator, and she made sure my actual wedding day went smoothly. They also coordinated with the other vendors I booked - the DJ, the officiant, the alcohol supplier, the cake supplier, and photographer. ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS, the food was amazing. I had a plated dinner and all the food came out hot. And it was all flavorful! The chef accommodates dietary restrictions for your guests with no hassle. Even separate from the venue, I would choose this caterer a second and third and fourth time. The venue IS gorgeous - we had our ceremony in the garden outside at sunset and our reception was in the ballroom. I fell in love with the venue all over again when my photos came in from my photographer. I loved it here so much that I'm almost even searching for a reason to have another event here!!

Throughout the entire process, the staff at Overhills were always willing to answer my many questions and responded very quickly to all my emails. The food was phenomenal, and the chef made sure our menu was catered to us. My husband is Puerto Rican and we wanted to make sure we had food that all our guests would enjoy. He also made sure my dad (the only vegan) had a great meal to eat! Everyone at Overhills made planning my wedding so much easier and less stressful. Lynda, Terry, and Rosie responded quickly to any email, with plenty of detail, making sure that there was no stress before the wedding. Absolutely everything was wonderful. The food was delicious- we chose the beef tips pot pie and pan seared scallops as our entree, and it was delectable! The manor is beautiful, inside and out, perfect for pictures. We booked the bridal suite upstairs, which included three rooms, lots of seating and mirrors for getting ready. Our wedding planner did a marvelous job of keeping everything going according to schedule, since I was having so much fun I wasn't paying any attention to the time! Everything went without a hitch, and we all had a great time. I am so happy we chose Overhills for our wedding! Thank you!!

Julia was fantastic not only as our wedding planner/coordinator but as our officiant as well! The staff is easy to work with, they set up all the time lines and are open to any/all communication! Let's not forget to mention that the food was DELICIOUS! My guests are still calling and texting me about how good the food was. I loved getting ready upstairs in the bridal wing, it was chic and relaxed. The guys had their own area to hang out and get ready as well. The mansion and grounds are just beautiful, our photographer just loved every aspect of it! They are simply the best.
