After seeing Lori's amazing work with my bridal clients, I booked Lori for hair and make up for my own family photo shoot. I had never had make up and hair done for my own session and I can't even tell you what a difference it made. Lori and her assistant did makeup for me, my mother, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law for my 6/4/2022 wedding. They did a wonderful job! I'm not someone who wears a ton of makeup so I appreciated that she was able to do a more natural look that accented my family and I's features. I felt so beautiful and still like myself. Lori and her team are wonderful to work with- definitely hire Edge for your big day! -

Reliable bridal hair
I loved working with Lori! She was extremely flexible with my trial hairstyles I brought to her which made the day of decision much easier. She understood my vision and perfected it with detail. I absolutely loved my hair on my wedding day. I am so thankful to have found her semi last minute since my original vendor cancelled on me a few months before my wedding. Lori squeezed me into her busy schedule with ease and certainty! She was quick to respond and great to work with. Would highly recommend. -

I love Lori! I worked with her on both my engagement photos in 2019 and my micro-wedding in 2020. The best advice she ever gave me was to not focus on how hair or make up looks on someone else, focus on you and your day and what makes you feel comfortable and beautiful. Lori is amazing! She is so sweet and so talented! I loved my hair and makeup trial—she was able to squeeze me in last minute when I found out I was going to be in town. My wedding hair and makeup were gorgeous and I felt like a princess! I got so many compliments on everything. She helped me feel like a beautiful bride on my wedding day. My mom also looked amazing! My bridesmaids loved their makeup! Lori’s assistant did most of the hair for my bridal party and they looked amazing. Working with Lori was easy and stress-free. She responded to emails quickly and was accommodating as I added and took away bridesmaids that needed hair or makeup. She came prepared day-of and was so sweet! We all had a great time getting ready and everyone looked amazing. Thank you, Lori! -

I just had to show Lori one photo of my hair inspiration and she knew exactly what to do. She talked me through a few tweaks that she felt would help, and honestly I've never felt so stunning in my entire life. I had so much fun sitting in her salon chair, I wish I had more excuses to go and get dolled up!

She did an excellent job and some of the girls ended up with some really cute "pinterest style" updos. It looked great! Lori is very easy to work with (responsive, helpful, listens to suggestions, on time) and I would recommend her to anyone. -

Lori did my hair and makeup for my backpacking elopement and I can't say enough wonderful things about both her and her work. Not only was she prompt, professional, and flexible to our last minute changes, but she was an absolutely delightful, calming presence on our wedding day.
Lori does incredible work and was so receptive to my request for natural looking makeup. She created a look at made me feel absolutely beautiful, while still feeling like myself. Even after hiking/sweating several miles with a backpack on, my hair and makeup looked flawless!

Lori at Edge Hair & Makeup was such a pleasure to work with throughout my wedding experience and it was so nice to just be able to relax and be pampered for my various events! I would absolutely hire her for future occasions. She’s easy to talk to, comfortable to be around, and really helped me feel relaxed while getting ready on my big day. We had a trial session before my engagement photos, and she also did my hair and makeup for my rehearsal/welcome party and the wedding day itself. Each time, Lori took the time to learn about my preferences and adjusted to my skin and hair’s tendencies, making improvements each step of the way. I have an olive complexion that makes everything look orange (and I learned makes golds look green overtime) and very fine, flat, and straight long hair with a lot of weight.
For my trial, we experimented with airbrush makeup, gold tones, and a half-up curled style. I was happy with the results at the end of the appointment but as I saw how it held up throughout the day saw the colors in varying lightings and how they adjusted overtime, I wasn’t quite as happy with the long-term results; however, I realized that’s exactly what trials are for! I’m really glad we did the trial because it gave me the opportunity to see what worked and what didn’t. I found that airbrush makeup wasn’t the best fit for me because it aged me, and the gold tones didn’t work with my skin tone. I also learned that I needed tighter curls, more volume, and a slightly more "lived-in" look.
For my welcome party, Lori arrived on time and fully prepared with her tools, taking into account everything I mentioned from the trial. She used a new curling iron to give me the tighter curls and volume I was looking for. My fine, straight hair typically doesn’t hold a curl, but Lori worked her magic, and it held up beautifully all night! The look she created was exactly what I envisioned, and it gave me the confidence that my wedding day hair would be perfect too. And it was! Lori replicated the same technique for my half-up wedding hairstyle, and it stayed in place beautifully, even through a long day and night of celebrations.
She also did hair and makeup for my sister and mom on the day of the wedding, who were both happy with their results. I’m only saying this to help other brides communicate exactly what they want, this is not a negative comment regarding Lori. Lori’s specialty did seem to me to be more of a natural makeup look but it also could have been a purposeful approach since makeup is always easier to add/layer on than remove. My sister and mom felt their eye makeup was a bit lighter than they expected. But to be fair, they didn’t give her that feedback on the day because they didn’t want to take up extra time for adjustments or get us off schedule. If they had, I have no doubt Lori would have made the changes. Personally, I had shown Lori inspiration photos with more contour and detail, but I didn’t specify every detail and felt too tight on time to add those details in. I was happy with the result and didn't feel it was necessary. I had also told Lori that I trusted her if there were things in my pictures that wouldn't photograph well because it was a hot day and I didn't want to look sweaty from too much shimmer, squinty from too much eyeliner, etc. so I knew I may have even contradicted myself if I asked for those details. Lori made sure I felt comfortable with the makeup choices given the hot weather, and I trusted her judgment to keep me from looking too shiny or too much makeup in photos.
The only minor inconvenience was that Lori can be a bit slow to respond to emails. She did let me know early on that calling or texting would get a quicker response if needed. However, since nothing was incredibly urgent and more of a preference of wanting to get things like the trial and extra session timing ironed out versus needing an immediate response, I didn’t feel texting/calling was absolutely necessary. But once we had everything scheduled, she was timely, professional, and fully prepared.
