Lifesaver !

Who can pull off a wedding in six weeks?? You can if you work with Wedding loft! Marita captured my vision and gave us a beautiful event. I can only imagine if we gave her more time. Such a pleasure to work with too!

The Australian native arnagements wer perfect!

Marita and her team took our request to source native Australian flowers for our wedding and delivered stunning arrangements that recieved rave reviews from Americans and Australians alike. She was friendly, flexible, able to work with our budget and gave great advice. She showed up early on the big day and made sure everything was perfect. As someone who works at weddings every weekend I've seen hundreds of florists and Marita was the obvious choice.

Expert, Caring, and Affordable Day-of-Wedding Coordination!!

Marita and her assistant Mari were absolutely amazing. They provided affordable, expert, and caring day-of-the-wedding coordination for my daughter’s wedding on March 9, 2019. As mother-of-the-bride, I was doing much of the planning since my daughter works full-time and attends graduate school at night. Initially, Marita invited me and my daughter to meet with her several months prior to the wedding and we thoroughly discussed our plans. She kept in regular contact with me between our initial meeting and the wedding. Marita read and responded to all of my emails in a very timely manner and nudged me when she needed additional information. We also met two days prior to the wedding when I dropped off the escort cards, gift card box, and decorations.

Marita provided essential advice during the planning process. As the wedding day approached, she reached out to all of the vendors multiple times to make sure that everyone was prepared. Marita attended the rehearsal the night before the wedding and provided essential guidance regarding how to arrange the ceremony. On the wedding day, she arrived at the venue prior to the wedding party and vendors so she could greet everyone and understand what was being done.

As a result of her excellent coordination, the wedding and reception went extremely well. Mari provided strong support. Timeline in hand, both were ahead of so many things.

While we did have a professional photographer documenting everything, Marita took photos and videos with her cell phone and sent them to me that night and the next morning which was much appreciated.

At the end of the evening, Mari extracted flowers from one of the large florist bouquets to transform them into a lovely and manageable arrangement in a vase I brought so they easily could be transported back to the hotel.

She also checked in with me to make sure all went well on the return trip to the hotel.

It is very clear that Marita is extremely experienced and will do an excellent job in planning, providing day-of-the-wedding services, and also flowers. I cannot praise her enough!

We absolutely loved our flowers for our wedding day! Marita worked with us to stay in budget, yet have an elegant and tasteful floral presence. The flowers were of outstanding quality and lasted for days!

Marita and Oliver,
Just. a note to tell you how much we appreciated the servies we received from Wedding Loft. Beginnig with the photography at both our engagement in Paris, to our wedding here in Alexandria and ending with a fantastic wedding album, it was professional and beautiful.
Of course, we cannot say enough good things about the flowers for all our events. The sunflowers at the rehearsal dinner which were then recycled into the courtyard of the church for the reception (a genious idea) were just stunnng. We loved the attendants coursages and the flowers in the front of the church made to match our color scheme of yellow and purple and green. Fantastic.
Of course we thank you then again for the table flowers at the reception. So many people commented on how lovely they were....and we agree.
All your flowers contributed to a lovely wedding event and we thank you so much. You took all the worry away from us and produced a memorable weekend of photos and flowers. And all for our agreed upon price - a unique outcome.

Marita is truly an artist. I had a very specific image in mind for our wedding, but needed help bringing it to life, and Marita did just that with her floral arrangements. Our wedding was at a vineyard in July, and I was set on having muted pinks, and crème flowers. Marita is a lover of bright color, but she understood my vision, and was able to deliver.

We met twice before the wedding, and she showed me every single flower she would be using. Certain individual flowers were too bright for me, so she found muted alternatives. I wanted pale earthy green vines, and loose bouquets, and again, she completely understood. I also requested a certain shade of peonies, which were challenging to get in July. But she worked hard to find them, and got the exact kind I wanted.

She’s also very respectful of budget, and was much more reasonably priced compared to many other vendors. But I do not feel at all that her services are of lesser value.

On the day of the wedding I hardly saw Marita, but was able to trust she would do a phenomenal job. I did not feel the need to have anyone check on what she was doing – we had set a plan and I felt confident in her. And she absolutely delivered. Looking back in pictures I am blown away by the beauty of my bouquet, and our table arrangements. She truly brought my vision to life, and I am so grateful!

Working with Marita was an ABSOLUTE pleasure! She's easily one of the most professional, down-to-earth, responsive and kindest people you'll ever meet. I didn't feel like I was working with "just another vendor" - I felt that I was working with a friend (someone who genuinely cared about my needs/wants). Being that I eloped, none of my friends were involved in the planning process. Marita stepped up and gave me all of the the candid advice and feedback/guidance I needed! I felt a lot less stressed because of her help! She didn't have to go the extra mile, but she did and that is something I will always remember. I could go on forever about my experience with her!!! JUST HIRE HER!

Marita from the wedding loft did my flowers because I remembered how amazing she was at a friend of mine's wedding 9 years ago. When I called her and told her that I was interested because I remembered her from that long ago, she was shocked, but happy to hear! She did an amazing job! We could not have been happier! I was a tough customer too - I wanted a lot of really unique things done that she'd never done before, like some amazing bouts with coxcomb and thistle and she pulled it all off - the flowers were absolutely amazing!! Love you, Marita!!

We hired Marita to do our wedding ceremony and reception flowers as a referral from our wedding coordinator, and she did an amazing job! We were blown away; they exceeded our expectations. She is very reasonable and will work with you on design and budget. I highly recommend. Hiring Marita for our flowers was one of the best decisions we made!

After seeing the awesome work of Holland Flowers for both of my god daughters' weddings, I knew that I wanted Marita to provide the flowers for the reception after returning from our own destination wedding. Not only is Marita incredibly personable, creative, and professional, but the quality of her floral arrangements is superb. For our reception, Marita tailored the flowers to the different rooms at our venue, so that each arrangement had its own personality while blending seamlessly with the overall theme and colors. If you are looking for the most gorgeous flowers available, you will not be disappointed with Holland Flowers!

The Wedding Loft, and Marita Alabaster, were hired by a couple I assisted with many of the details of their small wedding with family and close friends. Marita was engaged based on my recommendation to the couple and did not disappoint at all. In fact, I was over the moon with the quality of the bouquets and floral arrangements she delivered that afternoon. And I couldn't wait for the bride and her relatives to see what she had designed for them. The one main centerpiece was absolutely stunning -- and perfect on the terrace. The linen choices and the accent candles all around gave the reception a magical appearance -- the bride, groom, and I were all extremely pleased with the quality, value, and professionalism that Marita brought to this event -- it was exceptional!!!

It was wonderful to be able to secure our florist and photographer at the same time and place. This husband/wife duo is amazing! They listened to all of our special requests and were so accommodating! We had hoped to have Cherry Blossoms grace the table by the Cherry Blossom SIgnature cocktails, but Cherry Blossoms are not blooming the end of May. Sure enough, Marita kept buds cooling in her flower cooler until the reception and they were blooming beautifully the day of the event! The arrangements and bouquets were spectacular. The colors and arrangements were stunning. Our guests have all been commenting on how fabulous the flowers were. We have seen the preliminary photographs from our wedding and are overwhelmed with how gorgeous they are, too! Oliver was creative in seeking the perfect spots for photographs around the cathedral. My favorite shot of the newlyweds was in an alcove that I didn't even know existed! We are beyond thrilled with this couple and their talents. In addition to the flowers and photography, their experience with weddings, in general,enabled everything in our wedding to go smoothly. They are just top-notch!

I hired Holland Flowers to do all the flower arrangements and personal flowers for our wedding day. From the beginning my mom and I knew Marita would be a dream to work with due to her responsiveness and complete understanding and respect of our vision and budget. At my first in person meeting with Marita, I was so glad I had hired her since I had only skimmed the surface in my mind about what I needed for flowers. She walked me through the entire process and took good notes. When it got closer to the wedding, Marita was in constant contact making sure that what she was creating matched my vision. The final product was just stunning. She stayed within budget and delivered a CRAZY amount of flowers. I am so glad we went with her - the flowers were stunning and look so amazing in our pictures!

I loved working with Marita on my wedding flowers. She was very responsive and kept me updated each step of the way. Marita walked my fiance and I through the entire ceremony and reception and we discussed what floral options we had for each step. Marita then gave us a ballpark of what our cost would be so we could see how that matched against our floral budget. Once we finalized our budget, Marita helped us determine where we could cut items or suggest a more cost effective alternate so we could have everything we wanted and remain in our price point.

In the end, our flowers were just gorgeous and everything looked perfect. I loved Marita's work and would highly recommend her to any bride.

Summary: Marita and Holland Flowers literally transformed my reception into the most beautiful setting and it made for the perfect day!

From the moment I first talked to Marita, I knew I was in good hands. I had a pretty specific idea of what I wanted based on what I had seen in a couple different photos. But I quickly learned that every flower I wanted were spring flowers, and I was getting married in October. Marita guided me to check out different options that would work with my color scheme as well as within my budget. She is a true expert in this field and made my wedding into everything of my dreams. My reception was at a restaurant and I was worried it would look plain, but Marita transformed the whole space so that it took your breathe away as soon as you walked in. Everything I saw in pictures doesn't even compare to what Marita brought to life for us.

I only wish I could post photos so you could see first hand how beautiful she made everything! I would absolutely recommend Marita to ensure your day is just as special as ours was!

I could not have been happier with the decision to work with Marita and Holland Flowers (part of Wedding Loft, the other half is her husband's photography). From the start, she was extremely mindful of the budget point I was working with, and gave me an array of options to create the perfect feel I was looking for. She was quick to respond both by phone or e-mail, even just to say "I can respond in further detail after 5pm", etc. This is so reassuring for the stressed out bride I was! My bouquet was amazing, the centerpieces were PERFECT for our unique library venue. A+, Marita! Thank you so so much!

I did a lot of research trying to find the most reasonably priced Florist. The Wedding Loft was recommended by the Spirit of Washington (my wedding venue). So I decided to call. My initial visit went very well. I had not clue what I wanted. But Marita was very helpful and helped me with deciding the best look for my wedding. My colors were orange and gray. The bouquets that Marita provided turned out beautifully. Another fact that had me worried was that my wedding was at 930am! I was so worried that one of the vendors would be late. But Marita was there WAY before I was and had everything set up and ready. She was such a pleasure to work with. Her prices are very reasonable and her flowers are gorgeous! I definately recommend The Wedding Loft over the many I researched in the Northern VA area.

Excellent experience - Marita is fun and creative to work with and I still get compliments on the flowers! Everything was beautiful and she anticipated so many of the details I didn't even know to think about. Oliver was also fantastic, constantly inspired with ideas for new photographs and I have lovely pics not only of myself, my husband, and our wedding party but everyone else at the wedding! It was great to be able to catch up on everything that happened as the big day can be such a blur! I would recommend The Wedding Loft to all.

We had two photographers and Oliver's were the best by far. We were incredibly happy with the shots and his professionalism. We would like him to do the photography for our baby!

Holland Flowers is part of the WeddingLoft. When I met with Marita, I brought her samples of my colors and told that I was looking for an English garden kind of look with herbs and greenery mixed in with the flowers. She came up with some beautiful flowers that accomplished the look in a way that was beyond what my husband and I could have imagined. Because I am unfamiliar with some of the more unique flowers, married showed me pictures of some and gave me a list of others. I was then able to tell her which ones I liked best (I actually liked all of them). All of the flower arrangements that were used for decorations and centerpieces were absolutely beautiful, and the bouquets were beyond amazing. Even the toss bouquet was pretty. She obviously puts a lot of time, care and pride into her flower arrangements. Because Marita gave me a list of the flowers well enough before the wedding, I was able to share that list with the bakery, which resulted in a beautiful wedding cake decorated with sugar versions of the flowers in my bouquet.

Photography: quality of service: 2.5 stars, responsiveness: 2, professionalism: 2.5, value: 1, flexibilty: 2.5
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the photography from the WeddingLoft. I am absent from pictures of the reception, and the few pictures of my parents and brother during the reception are of them bent over tables, taking pictures with their own cameras and heads out of the shot. There are posed and candid shots (with heads, no cameras, and no unflattering bending over shots) of my husbands parents and sister before the ceremony and during the reception. The photographer was introduced to my parents and brother when we did the posed shots (my husband and I have small immidiate families, plus there were only 40 guests at our wedding), but the imbalance of attention was still present. There is actually one shot of me and my brother during the ceremony...my back and my brother's arm. Those can't be recreated. He even ignored a request that we reitterated several times (once when we met in person and several times when he asked us through email). He also offended the Marines who were our swordsmen because he wanted half the Marines to place their swords in their left hands for a certain posed shot; my husband (who is a Marine), the swordsmen, my matron of honor, and the best man kept telling him over and over that it was against regulation, but he kept telling them to switch hands. I wish we could give separate ratings for a vendor that offers two services. I chose to rate Marita's flowers because I want to make sure she gets proper praise for the gorgeous flowers.

We hired Oliver for the photography and Marita to do the flowers for our wedding, and let me tell you, this duo is quite a team! They bent over backwards to accommodate our wants and needs, helping to customize services to make our day just perfect.

I was completely clueless about flowers and Marita was my saving grace. She patiently walked me through the process of figuring out what I wanted, explaining what was available in season, and helping me find options that were both creative and cost saving. She really knows her stuff - several times she graciously guided me toward sensibility when my imagination started to go off in a direction that would be too expensive or a mismatch for the venue. But she patiently listened to all my wild ideas, and in the end, was able to incorporate many of my favorite flowers into a truly unique floral theme. The result was absolutely stunning - I wanted something creative and distinct, and never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined what Marita came up with. Her table arrangements were works of art - gorgeous and lively and the perfect balance of elegant and playful. Everyone loved them! I will never forget the flowers at my wedding. I highly, highly recommend Marita.

I was the opposite with photography - I knew exactly what I wanted. Oliver was quickly able to meet my needs with a team of photographers to capture every moment of our event. He even brought on an extra photographer at the last minute to take posed shots of guests in the "photo booth" we wanted to set up. The photographers were not intrusive at all, and aside from posed photos, I hardly realized they were there. After the wedding, the photos were available to view very quickly, and it was easy to send the link of the online gallery to family and friends. We spent hours pouring over the hundreds of photos from the day--Oliver's work is just spectacular. I feel like I am reliving my wedding day each time I flip through just a few photos. And when it came time to select prints, the online system was so easy to use. To top it all off, Oliver is wonderfully charismatic, and was such a delight to have around on our wedding day. He is an outstanding wedding photographer.

Marita did the flowers and decorations for our wedding and did a fabulous job. My husband and I live overseas, and I was planning a wedding for Alexandria, Virginia. She was always so responsive and worked with me on the time difference, sending pictures and suggestions via email and setting up times to talk via Skype.

We arrived just a few days before the wedding and didn't have to worry about anything. Everything was set up and ready to go, looking beautiful on the wedding day. I would recommend using her to anyone and would use her again for another ocassion.

Alexandra and Arjan Wedding

We have planned our wedding in two months and contacted Marita from Holland Flowers only three weeks before the event. Marita worked with our maid of honor and decorated the wedding venue it was magical, beautiful, romantic. We loved it!

We were impressed with her responsiveness and ability to make our dreams come true in terms of the decoration and flower arrangements each of the arrangements (bride's, bride's maids, table settings, etc.) were perfect!

Our maid of honor who worked directly with Marita told us all along how please she was with working with Marita.

The flowers were beautiful and rich. We had five star wedding on a very small budget.

Marita from Holland Flowers a part of Wedding Loft did the flowers for my daughter's wedding. She was amazing to work with. Since my daughter was out of the area, she made the process extremely easy. The day of the wedding there was 20+ inches of snow falling. Marita went above and beyond to make sure that the flowers arrived at the church and at the reception. This was no easy feat and speaks volumes about Marita and her staff. The flowers were absolutely exquisite and made this day extra special. This will be one day that our family and guests will never forget. I can't thank Marita enough for helping to make this beautiful day happen.

I used Marita and Holland Flowers (a part of the larger Wedding Loft) at the suggestion of our wedding venue. She had done a ton of weddings at the Mount Vernon Inn, and had lots of stuff to show me. She also knew exactly what we would need, since she knew better than I how everything would be set up!

First things first--our flowers were EXQUISITE. Our colors were pink, white/ivory, and black. Since our wedding was in May, I talked to Marita about making things seasonal. Luckily spring gives a lot of options! Our flowers were even more amazing than I had dreamed. The few more elaborate arrangements (name card table and ceremony space) were truly stunning--full of perfect roses, hydrangea, tulips, lilies, and even a few peonies. The bridal and bridesmaid bouquets were exactly what I had hoped for. The bridesmaids had roses and tulips in shades of medium and dark pink, wrapped in black satin ribbon. My bridal bouquet was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen--ivory and pale pink roses, tulips, freesia, and lily-of-the-valley, fully wrapped in ivory satin with pearl pins. It smelled like heaven, and didn't want to put it down! All the corsages and boutinieres were also exactly right. Marita got all the details right, and I truly believe that the flowers are what made our wedding magical. The venue was lovely on its own, but our flowers really complimented everything perfectly.

Marita was also very sweet and fun to work with--I only needed to meet with her once, and we handled the rest by phone and email. I think she understood my "vision" right away--I didn't need to be very instructive; just gave her some ideas and a few specific requests, and she ran with it.

At the end of the day, the whole thing was pretty expensive, but worth every nickel. I've seen beautiful flowers at weddings before, but ours were by far the most amazing. I'd give Marita and her staff 10 stars if I could!

I did quite a bit of research before picking my florist. Flowers to me played an important role in the look that I was going for. Marita was great in working with me and helping me come up with ideas as to what would work. I was very satisfied with all the flowers from the church ones, reception, decor for the reception and our bouquetes and boutaniers. I would highly recommend her.

Marita provided gorgeous flowers for my wedding. Her personalized service and attention to detail make her worth every penny. She provided me with the exact look I was wanting and had wonderful suggestions. She was flexible and willing to work within my budget. I would recommend The Wedding Loft to a bride who wants classic and timeless floral designs for her wedding day.

The Wedding Loft designed all the flowers and decor for our wedding on the Odyssey Cruise. We provided Marita with general direction to what we wanted such as color and style and she designed all the bouquets, boutonnieres and decor on a ship that provided minimal opportunities for decoration. Marita was a pleasure to work. If we had questions, she provided insightful information that helped us understand what would and wouldn't work. She also worked closely with the florist to add real flowers to the wedding cake. The day of the ceremony was stressless. She was there on time with fresh flowers that were all so beautiful. The cost below only accounts for the flower that were not included in the Odyssey Wedding Package.

The WeddingLoft provides such beautifully elegant arrangements. The flowers were very fresh, and the bouquets were gorgeous even after our lengthy reception! Marita was very responsive to our needs, and mindful of our budget. She made the most graceful arrangements and made our wedding look fantastic. The photographer was able to capture the most memorable shots without being intrusive to our ceremony, or reception. The book he put together for us will help the memories last for decades to come. Thank you WeddingLoft for making our day extra special!
