From the very beginning, it was exactly what we wanted.
From the moment my husband and I walked into Waldenwoods, we knew we wanted to have our wedding ceremony and reception there. Waldenwoods checked every box we had going into our visit. We wanted a venue that was not like anything else (i.e. four white walls). Cromaine Hall spoke for itself with the beautiful wood paneled walls, large fireplaces, and floor to ceiling windows. Numerous guests first statement to us during our reception was, "This venue is beautiful". We were extremely satisfied with our selection of food. The staff and our event coordinator (Jenna) were very responsive to our needs and requests, and gave us so much support to us on the day of the wedding. This short review cannot fully describe how happy we are that we decided to go with Waldenwoods. We highly recommend this venue.

A Stunning Experience
We had our daughter's December wedding reception inside Cromaine Hall and it was stunning! All of the white lights and tastefully done Christmas decor made the place gorgeous. The wood burning, stone fireplaces were such a warm and cozy addition to an already beautiful evening.
The food was delicious, the staff was very helpful and friendly. We opted for the Gourmet Coffee & Hot Cocoa bar and it was a hit! The guests really appreciated that extra fun touch on a cold night.
We would not hesitate to recommend Waldenwoods to any bride & groom looking for an exceptional and beautiful reception.

Incredible wedding venue and service!!
Waldenwoods was the second venue we toured and I fell in love the second we got on the grounds. We got married in the lakeview tent and it was GORGEOUS. we also rented the friendship lodge for the entire weekend so our friends and family could stay with us all weekend. The staff was responsive, professional, and so helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to have our wedding.

Amazing experience had at Waldenwoods for my wedding!
Waldenwoods was absolutely the right choice for my wedding. The venue is gorgeous with pre hung lights - huge fireplaces and just gorgeous design. But what really sets this venue over the top? The amazing help with planning and execution from the staff and the INCREDIBLE food. I received multiple comments from guests saying this was the BEST wedding food they have ever had. Do not hesitate to book this venue!

Perfect day!
I held a baby shower at Waldenwoods and everything went smoothly. Right from the beginning of planning the staff was responding immediately to all our questions. The event went better than we even expected with the help of the staff. It is a beautiful place with wonderful, helpful people.

You won’t find a better place!!!!
The staff and the setting at Waldenwoods can only be described as magical. All the stress that may be had about your wedding melts away when you arrive. The staff is so attentive, and they are fantastic at making sure everything is in order for you so you don’t have to worry about it on your big day. The amount of care they put into each detail is amazing! On top of it all, the lake offers the perfect sunset for beautiful photos! My husband and I feel so lucky to have gotten married at such a beautiful place with such a kind and caring staff. Pick Waldenwoods! You won’t regret it! Best decision ever!!!!

Amazing with everything!
They’re so organized and super responsive making sure you’re on top of things as much as they are up until the moment you arrive for the big day. Their day-of planner, chefs, and entire staff were incredibly helpful and made it so that we didn’t have to worry one bit about any detail before the ceremony/reception started. I can’t recommend them enough. Waldenwoods services and staff are worth every penny.

Winter Wedding
My husband and I just got married last Friday 12/14/18! We had both our ceremony and reception in the Cromaine Hall at Waldenwoods. It is such a beautiful venue and their service was phenomenal. Everyone was easy to work with, friendly, and quick to respond. We had everything we asked for and they were on top of everything, keeping things moving smoothly. They had people always accessible to help with anything we needed. All of the food we had was extremely tasty and that champagne was amazing! We received many compliments on the food, coffee, and the venue itself. Initially they seemed a little pricey but they include so much within their packages that in the long run they provided a better deal than many other places we considered and to us, they are well worth the price. We also booked the bridal room which I think was worth it as well, and it included lunch for up to 12 people which was definitely nice and needed lol. We absolutely would recommend Waldenwoods!

My daughters wedding was spectacular. The office team at Waldenwoods was attentive to all the special details we wanted to happen. The food was delicious and plentiful. No one went home hungry! My Wife and I could not be happier with our wedding at Waldenwoods. Throughout the entire process, the staff was very accommodating to what we wanted and there were no issues with special requests.
The food was fantastic, so many people came up to me to tell me how good the food was.
The pricing was extremely reasonable, I feel like we got an extremely high end experience for an affordable price.
Renting out the entire lodge next to the reception was great for our wedding party and close family, it made the day more relaxed having our "home base" right next to the ceremony and reception area.

I can not say enough good things about Waldenwoods. Waldenwoods came recommended by my coworker who's daughter got married there a year before our wedding. I am SO HAPPY we chose them for our special day. I received SO MANY compliments about the venue and food the entire evening and days to follow. The staff was fabulous to work with. The day went off without a hitch. We rented the bridal suite and did the day of coordinator. Both were WELL WORTH IT! It was so nice to be on location, relaxed with my girls while everything was being set up downstairs. I could pop down from time to time to watch it all progress. Even better was they cleaned it all up at the end of the night for us to pick up at our brunch the next morning. Everything was so perfect and wonderful. I HIGHLY recommend!

Our wedding this past September at Waldenwoods was perfection. Not only was the venue and location absolutely stunning, but the team that we worked with was so helpful. They were quick to answer questions, and believe me, I had a lot. We had lots of special requests and they met them all.
Our friends and family stayed in the "Sunshine Lodge", the "Friendship Lodge" and other cabins throughout the property and it made the experience that much better. Staying all in one location, all together, made the experience less stressful and felt like a family vacation.
Our reception took place in the Lakeside tent, and Waldenwoods, along with a dedicate team of vendors transformed the space into an enchanting vision.

The food here was phenomenal and service top notch. All of my guests couldn't stop talking about how great everything was and how beautiful it was here. Keep mindful of any contract changes because occasionally a thing or two might not be updated correctly (which had me a little worried at first) but they were very responsive in making it accurate immediately and everything went off without a hitch. They were very accommodating and flexible as well as helpful. I would recommend Waldenwoods to anyone. They know what they are doing and service is very friendly. This is the way to go!

The director Anne was wonderful in helping every step of the way. She was very accommodating to make it a very special and personalized day! The timing of the entire day was perfect. I have had a lot of guests comment on how perfect the entire day was and how nice it was for the guests. From being served drinks during the cocktail hour to being served dinner promptly. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly. I would absolutely recommend Waldenwoods, it is beautiful setting to get married. My wife and I were very pleased with Anne Graham and the staff at Waldenwoods. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in high style at the resort, complete with plated dinner (guest are still raving months later), floral decorations, photo booth and bar. Anne made sure that everything went smoothly, and even jumped in to help move our cocktail hour indoors when the rain moved in! We could not be more pleased and would not hesitate recommending Waldenwoods for a place to celebrate that will provide unbelievable memories for years to come.

I can't say enough great things about this venue. Not only was it beautiful, the women that work there are amazing and sweet. They always answered questions leading up to the wedding enthusiastically (even though you know they've answered the same questions with every bride). The food surprised me with how great it was actually. We chose a split plate and people commented that they never get that good amount of food at a wedding. The day of coordinating was great. They helped so much with the ceremony and made it run so smooth. They were SO Good with the little ring bearers and made sure they got out the door and down the aisle. The bartenders and all the food staff were wonderful. Everyone really went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us.

When looking for an outdoor wedding location my Mom mentioned Waldenwoods to me because she had seen it driving North on 23. We went in for a walk around to check out and grounds and see what they offer for outdoor weddings and I fell in love with their Sunshine Garden tent wedding location. Right off lake Walden, with the beautiful scenery and rustic buildings and atmosphere.
We picked late June knowing the weather may be gorgeous but could also be wet. Turns out we got the shorter end of the stick when it came to the weather. It was 60 degrees, strong winds and rained all day long. Everyone kept joking that it was the hurricane of June 27th. This never once affected our wedding day and how much fun we had, we wouldn't change it for anything. The staff did everything they could possibly do to make our guests comfortable considering the elements. Our ceremony was moved from the outdoor lake front pergola to the reception tent with ease, and other then the high winds you would've never known it was raining while underneath the tent. It kept us all warm and dry. We somehow got lucky enough that our reception was ended with the most beautiful sunset over the lake.
All our guests were raving about the location, the service and the food. The food was amazing! People are still talking about how much they loved the food! We highly recommend the Cromaine chicken and potatoes au gratin.
We also had our rehearsal dinner at Waldenwoods, food was also amazing! The staff was very helpful and watchful if we needed anything at all.
We recommend Waldenwoods to anyone looking for a private, rustic, vintage romantic wedding location.
You can even rent the lodges or cottages, makes getting ready and packing up after the reception a breeze. The bridal party and I stayed in the A Frame cottage (sleeps 12), it was perfect for a girls night the night before the wedding, and you can also spend time swimming at the lake. Every single one of my wedding guests kept asking me...where did you find this place!?!
We had our wedding ceremony on the lake, roasted smores at a campfire by the lake while watching sunset, danced all night long inside in the romantic lighting, and then my entire family and all my friends stayed at the sunshine lodge or cabins on site to keep the party going.
It was magical, and everyone has told me it was one of the best weddings they have been to! That was all thanks to Waldenwoods!!! Thank you!!!!

Waldenwoods made our day beyond perfect. It was above and beyond what I could have expected. The staff was incredible and wanted everything to be perfect. Waldenwoods will not let you know. They will work with you every day leading up to the event and the day of, they make sure the bride isn't stressed. When I walked into the reception venue, I was stunned and completely breathless because I was mesmerized by the decoration. The food was wonderful. If you want to have a magical and unforgettable day, I recommend this staff and venue.

Our wedding experience at Waldenwoods was perfect! The venue was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was accommodating and very helpful. It was very easy to get in touch with someone and questions were answered quickly. The service the day of the wedding was extraordinary. All of our guests raved about how friendly and helpful the servers were and how great the food was. We were working on a budget and the value was far beyond the price. We had 160+ guests and with a premium bar option, ceremony space, bridal room, and gourmet coffee bar we paid around $13,500. I would recommend Waldenwoods to anyone who was looking for a historical and rustic wedding. Though the weather did not allow for an outdoor wedding, the indoor space made the experience more intimate and they transformed the space wonderfully.

We had the most memorable wedding weekend at Waldenwoods. Everything turned out better than I even expected. There was one minor hiccup and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate for it. I highly recommend Waldenwoods to anyone looking for a personable experience in a truly unique location. Not to mention that pictures on the property turn out beautiful!

We had an intimate ceremony at Meditation Point, which is a narrow peninsula on Lake Walden, nearly opposite of the beach (away from people noise). My husband wanted a beach ceremony and I loved the wooded ceremony from the Twilight series. This was a nice blend of both. When you first enter, the tree branches reach across the wide, grass path, forming a canopy. As you get closer to the end of the peninsula, the foliage height gradually drops and you are rewarded with a beautiful view of the water. At the tip of the peninsula, there is a tall, wooden cross, a mature shade tree and a wooden bench. The serene setting coupled with the autumn colors required no additional decorations. All we did was walk down, stood under the shade tree branches to perform the ceremony, took pictures and left. It was simple and elegant.

Our wedding day was THE best day of our lives ! Thank you waldenwoods for the most beautiful & perfect venue, it was like a fairytale ! : ) when you're at waldenwoods, it's not your typical church ceremony & 4 white walls reception. you're in the woods, with a beautiful lake, wood walls, & fireplaces. the food was amazing!!! we had appetizers (Swedish meatballs, coconut chicken tenders, fruit, & cheese & crackers), dinner (filet mignon, salmon, Caesar salad, asparagus, & fettucine alfredo), & late night snacks (Bonfire with smores. & pizza) & all were top notch! the vegetarians also loved the chefs choice dish! we upgraded to the premium bar & loved that all of our guests got a glass of champagne for the toasts. the staff is incredibly friendly & helpful, for about 2 years prior to the wedding I emailed with any questions & they responded quickly. our guests are still talking about how this was the best wedding they have ever been to! my husband & I stayed apart the night before the wedding, we rented cottages at waldenwoods & stayed there with our bridal parties & got a separate one for us the night of, adorable cottages! I really recommend having your bridal party stay with you the night before, it's a lot of fun : ) also there is lodging available for guests there so nobody has to drink & drive. they allow sparklers & wish lanterns ! gorgeous chiavari chairs available for rent ! everything about waldenwoods was perfect for our rustic themed wedding ! we have memories from this day that will leave us smiling for a lifetime !! : )

Had an outdoor ceremony and reception at Sunshine Garden and was truly amazimg!!! Thank you Waldenwoods and its staff! The staff went above and beyond, very responsive and accomodating! The food was delicious and had more than enough our guests could devour. At the Hartland Chamber we have utilized the services of Waldenwoods Resort & Conference Center for our monthly luncheons, our annual holiday party, and golf outing for dinner. Each and every single time the staff at Waldenwoods has been polite, patient, understanding, and willing to serve. Terri, Melissa, & Anne has been accommodating and creative when it comes to assisting with our events.
Waldenwoods always works within our budget, but manages to make it look like we spent much more than we actually did. The facility and setting are beautiful.

I held my reception at Waldenwoods Resort for my February 9th 2013 wedding. I have nothing but good things to say about Waldenwoods! More than any other wedding vendor (and we had some good ones!) the staff at Waldenwoods made me feel taken care of and relaxed through the entire planning process. From our very first tours of the building (where they graciously allowed me to take excessive amounts of photos!) I knew that this was the place. It’s historical ambiance, detailed touches, and beautiful setting in the woods right on the lake, were perfect for our warm, elegant winter wedding. Their off-season pricing was an excellent deal and allowed us to upgrade our bar and add on extras like white glove service for our hors-d'oeuvres. Instead of doing individual tastings they have a big event every year - a valentines dinner/dance where prospective brides/grooms come to try the food, I loved how they did this because you could see the hall in action, what it looks like full of people and with a DJ, and also taste food that was prepared for a large group rather than just the two of you (there is a difference!). Plus, it was a lot of fun! Through our two year engagement we spoke with several event coordinators because their main coordinator, Terri Bendes, was out on medical leave. Despite always talking to new people I never felt stressed about it! Everyone was so well-informed and understood exactly where I was coming from during my planning process, they transitioned us smoothly. Our final details meeting was a breeze! We left feeling absolutely giddy. I designed and made 90% of the reception decor which included wood and candle centerpieces, pinecones, lots of candles, and photos to be placed on the mantlepieces - not only did they do the setup perfectly but they added little touches like extra pinecones and one of our extra centerpieces on the coffee table in the lobby! All of the fireplaces were lit for our reception which added that cozy ambiance we loved so much. T

They were overwhelmed by the experience and many guest commented that this was the most beautiful and fun wedding that they had ever been to. We were recently married at Waldenwoods and had an even more perfect day than we could have imagined. Every couple envisions their day, but to have a day that surpasses that is a true dream come true. From the first day we toured we knew that Waldenwoods was the place for us. Terri and her staff do an exceptional job of working with couples, but more importantly they really care and want to make sure your day is perfect. Throughout the planning, the day of and even the day after when we held a good-bye breakfast for our stay over guests, Terri and her staff were there attending to every detail and making sure that everyone had a wonderful time. They were very helpful. We only had about 6 months from the day we picked our wedding date until the big day. They provided us with all of the information that we needed to make our day the best day possible. They provided us with the information for the officiant and also the company to contact for the rental items we needed to get. We would recommend them to anyone. It's beautiful there, too. We were married overlooking the lake and we had our reception inside in their banquet hall. It was just amazing!

So many compliments...
Waldenwoods was the perfect place for us to get married. First of all, the setting was amazing, with the lake and all the trees, as well as the beautiful character of the Cromaine Lodge with all its windows and lighted branches. All of the food was delicious, and there were so many great options to choose from when crafting the menu. They were so accommodating of dietary restrictions, even my vegan friend with a chickpea allergy (she said their vegan lasagna was amazing). Plus, their Personal Touch service is great so you can focus on yourself instead of setup, and no one has to stay late to clean up after the reception. They even have a fair amount of decor items that you can rent, which I hadn't seen elsewhere.
Having onsite lodging was another bonus, although it is someone rustic, but we love that. We ended up renting one of the villas for the night before and night of the wedding. With its spiral staircase, fireplace, and indoor hottub, it was the perfect getaway and so convenient.
Fair warning: there are multiple consultants working at this place, and they share a communal email address. You may not always be talking to the same person, so sometimes you have to remind them of details. The person who does your rehearsal also does your ceremony coordination, so there's at least that continuity. I kept notes and communicated mostly through email so it wasn't a big deal to me, but could be to some.
Finally, the cost for this place was an amazing value, and I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes much more expensive as word gets out about how great their weddings are. We got so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful the venue is.

Fall Wedding
We had snow for our fall wedding but we would not change a thing! The Cromaine Lodge was very warm and inviting with the gold chivari chairs, cream linens and the real wood burning fireplaces going. As much as we had our hearts set on getting married lakeside, having it inside the Cromaine offered an intimate ceremony that we did not expect and ended up being better. The staff was easy to work with, flexible, and they made sure the whole night went smoothly. We also booked the lodging at Friendship and Sunshine. The rooms were clean and cozy and offered a convenient place for our wedding party and close friends to hang their hat for the night.

My biggest complaint was during dessert we had to ask atleast 5 times for the lemon pie to be brought out for my father in law and grandfather. As well as asking my husband every 2 minutes why I was late instead of just calling/texting me, I was late on purpose I had a small hair mishap because of the rain. Other then that everything went amazing even with rain. I couldn’t be happier with how our day went.

Amazing Food and Attentiveness
The day of our wedding was amazing and ran very smooth when we arrived at Waldenwoods- Cromaine lodge, for our reception. We had our ceremony at a sentimental site and arrived to Waldenwoods for dinner and dancing. The hall is gorgeous. The windows, the lighting, the fireplaces were exactly our taste. The food was extraordinary and we received so many compliments with many people going back for seconds. We requested french macarons specifically as a portion of our dessert and they were some of the best we’ve ever had. We provided the cake which came early and a little large for their fridge but they were accomodating. The lovely servers waited on us hand and foot and were always readily available for any requests. Due to no outside alcohol allowed they provided a specialty drink for my husband and I which were already waiting for us when we arrived at the site. I wish I could come back for dinners. So amazing.

Waldenwoods is the definition of a unique venue. It is impossible for me to list the amount of compliments that we received from our guests on booking Waldenwoods as our venue. The setting is so unique.
We didn't want a traditional banquet hall, and this had such a different vibe than a banquet hall. The possibility for a ceremony outside was something that we valued, and it's something we were able to have. It was so convenient to be able to get ready at Waldenwoods, have the ceremony there, and the reception there immediately following.
The last thing that I'd like to communicate is just how open, available, and willing to accommodate the staff is. From the very first phone call of us inquiring about setting up a date to take a tour of the venue, all the way through the end of our wedding, the staff from Waldenwoods was there to answer any questions we had. Let me tell you, we had A LOT of questions. Whether we called, emailed, or stopped in to talk, they were more than willing to answer any questions. There were definitely times where I was pretty nervous to call and inquire about something, but I was never told my questions were too much, too annoying, or not important. They were important to me, and therefore important to the staff at Waldenwoods.

This is a superb venue! Guests are able to roam around outside by the lake, they offer s'mores as a dessert option, which is a really fun option, and they have a couple (fairly rustic) lodges on-site for guests to stay at and continue the celebrations at after the reception ends. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. They were wonderful to work with.

We had our winter wedding at Walden Woods, and it was perfect. The staff was extremely accommodating to guests, and the venue itself was BEAUTIFUL. Very little decorations were needed. We got TONS and TONS of compliments from all of our guests on how beautiful the venue was, or people saying they wish they knew about this place when their son/daughter got married. The food was AMAZING. All of our guests loved and said it was the best meal they have ever had at a wedding. The bartenders were awesome and they knew what I (the bride) was drinking throughout the night so I would not even have to ask, they would just keep them coming! AWESOME STAFF and GREAT food!

Anne, Sheila, Tracy... the list goes on of fabulous and accommodating staff at Waldenwoods who all took special care in our wedding reception details. It's obvious they take pride in what they do. I chose Waldenwoods because of it's close proximity to our home, and was so fortunate to have selected the most amazing venue in the state. In addition to the caring service and attention from the coordinators and staff the evening of our event, the beautiful scenery, the lake, were an added bonus. Guests are still raving about the character and charm Cromaine Hall had to offer, nothing like that of the average banquet hall found at a hotel. I'm so thankful for our perfect wedding day and will surely recommend Waldenwoods to everyone I know looking to host an event.

Beautiful venue with great service and the food was outstanding and the portion sizes were large. The management was very on top of things and the night went off without a hitch. The lakeside purgula was a great setting for the wedding, and the rustic feel of the hall was just what we were looking for. It had a very unique atmosphere that our guests all loved.

My husband and I were thoroughly pleased with the coordination and commencement of our wedding at Waldenwoods! Anne, Tracey, and staff were accomodating, patient, and exceeded our expectations. They truly care about making your event exactly what you want it to be. Anne went above and beyond what we anticipated on the actual wedding day. She was there every step of the way through the ceremony and had her staff placed to assist in ensuring everything went smoothly. Our guests absolutely LOVED the venue and complimented the food and the overall event! The cost is on the higher end but you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to service as we had our own wedding coordinator to smooth out the process and details. We would highly recommend Waldenwoods for a unique and memorable event...you won't be disappointed!!!

Rustic but elegantly done. Lake is beautiful, overnight accomodations are a nice idea with a buffet breakfast in the morning. Bathrooms are upstairs with no air conditioning though. Restroom on main level for handicap was not convenient to enter through kitchen. Overall a nice experience though.... pleasant people to work with.

Waldenwoods was a truly beautiful location for my wedding ceremony and reception. The staff was always quick to respond to my (many) emails, and always helpful throughout my wedding planning. The day of, everything was executed perfectly and professionally.
This is not an inexpensive venue, but I believe it's a great value, particularly compared to venues in Ann Arbor (where we also looked). I was really pleased with everything at Waldenwoods, and would definitely recommend to other brides.

Waldenwoods definitely knows how to do receptions! The whole process was perfect. Excellent communication, immediate responses, very professional throughout the whole process. I loved that they had every single note / idea / meeting / phone call / email in my file, creating a stress free, flawless evening / weekend.
Our wedding day went perfectly smooth. They were accommodating and flexible as we got ready there before the ceremony. They set up the hall exactly as we requested. The food was fantastic. Premium bar and late night pizza were upgrades our guests appreciated. We also had brunch there the next morning, well worth it!

Waldenwoods was a great place to host our wedding and bridal shower. The site is very beautiful and it is a great place to take beautiful outdoor wedding photos. The site is very unique compared to other local banquet centers. Also, the food at Waldenwoods is amazing and very well prepared. I would recommend Waldenwoods to any future brides.

Fantastic venue! They really work with you to plan a flawlessly executed day. Beautiful location that our guests continue to talk about. The food was also great. My only complaint would be that the food tasting is done in a one night event with all engaged couples and some of their family. It was a bit crowded, hectic, and almost impossible to find seating. Other than that, we would highly recommend!

I loved the venue. This pretty much decorates itself! Its cute, romantic, and rustic. The staff was wonderful and knowledgeable. The day of the wedding the staff was more than great, we had amazing service. He help you with almost everything. They are very willing to answer any and all questions. I loved working with them. I really liked how they took care of alot in house, it made the whole wedding planning process simple. They were very flexible with last minute timeline changes. we rented a cabin they have on the grounds and my guest stayed in a house they have on the grounds (walking distance). We also had breakfast there in the morning which was amazing (much needed). And again at the breakfast, all the staff was awesome.

Beautiful Wedding Venue
Waldenwoods provided us with a truly unforgettable wedding experience. The venue's natural beauty and unique charm made decorating a breeze, allowing us to create our dream setting effortlessly. The staff was helpful throughout, but their were a few small details that weren't taken care of like using the linens I had specially ordered through them for the cake and card table (I still got charged for them).
When it came to the food, we were pleasantly surprised by the exquisite flavors and presentation - our guests couldn't stop raving about it.
They made the planning process feel smooth and organized. From our initial inquiries to the day of the event, their responsiveness and attention to detail put us at ease. While there were a few areas where we felt a bit uncertain, such as some minor logistical details and keeping all our small requests documented, the overall experience was positive.
Waldenwoods helped create a day that was truly magical and memorable. All of our guests are still raving to us about how amazing our venue was. We highly recommend them to any couple looking for a venue that combines natural beauty, good service, and delicious food for their special day.

I had to talk with the manager a few times. Overall great!
There were a few instances the front desk people showing me around could not give me a final answer in so I had to call and talk to Anne. But once I reached her it was very easy to get what we wanted for our day.
The venue was beautiful and everyone went out of their way to help. We loved the security of knowing that no matter what the weather, we would have a lovely time, inside or out. It took so much of the stress of an outdoor wedding off.
The food was good and we were thrilled at how accommodating they were of our family's various vegan, GF, DF requests.
The only serious error on their part was not letting us know there was no wireless microphone for our officiant to use during the ceremony. Our DJ could have brought one if we had known we needed one. We felt this was an oversight on their part as we did not know to ask and should have been told about something so integral to the ceremony.

I was so pleased that I chose Waldenwoods for my ceremony and reception. It was breathtaking as we had the ceremony on the lake. The reception indoors was beautiful, with a touch of rustic and glam. The staff was so helpful and responsive. The food was tasty and enjoyed by all guests. I felt confident that when I dropped off all the decor that it would be done correctly. The only frustrating part was that I failed to remember that we were responsible to take the vases home that night, per our contract. They made us pay a $250 fee even though we got them the next morning and were full of apologies. I understand that this was our mistake, but it truly was a mistake. Despite this bump, I would definitely recommend Waldenwoods to anyone!

This is one of the most beautiful venues you could get married at. The staff is incredible, super organized, and they will not disappoint in terms of efficiency and getting everything well accomplished. I never had to worry about one detail on the day of my wedding because Terri and the staff at Waldenwoods took care of everything. I planned and they took it in their hands to execute perfectly. The entire day was magical and was the best day of my life.

Waldenwoods was an absolute beautiful place for a wedding! The staff was great and very helpful. You can tell they have done this many times and have it down to a science. Anytime I called I always got a friendly answer and they did an excellent job of explaining everything. There were always questions that popped up and they did an excellent job of answering quickly. Dinner was amazing! Portions were huge (which is hard to find at weddings) and we had plenty of appetizers to go around. The bar was well stocked and never a long line. They did a great job of making your day just how you want it. They will definitely direct you on what to do and when to do it, which was helpful. Some might think they are a bit 'direct' but that is their job to be a director! Overall, I LOVED having my wedding at Waldenwoods!

Walden Woods was a beautiful place to get married. The ladies who work in the Cromaine Lodge were very friendly and helpful! For what you get, you CANNOT get a better value in the menu. The food was delicious, my only criticism is that there was no one really coordinating on our wedding day, so our reception got started a little late. It would have been nice to have someone helping us along on the actual day. Other than that, we were very happy!

Beautiful, amazing hall with spectacular lake front views and perfect inside!!! Will never forget and everyone else wont either! Everyone commented how beautiful and different it was from your traditional hall. Love it! A little pricey, but well worth it!

Beautiful venue!
The venue was great at being flexible and allowing us to make the day what we wanted, and the answer to most of our questions was "yes." They were hard to get in contact with most of the time but email was the best way to get a response. We booked the Sunshine lodge for our guests, and almost every one of them had trouble reaching the venue to provide their credit card information and book the room. The voicemail was usually full so there was no way to leave one. Aside from that, they were really great to work with and made the day beautiful and everything we wanted it to be! We got many compliments on how beautiful the spot was.

Waldenwoods is a beautiful venue. If you are looking for a vintage look that is absolutely magical this is the place. The food was great, the staff professional and the grounds and buildings beautiful. We looked and many places and my daughter wanted a smallest wedding with a cozy warm feeling and Waldenwoods fit the bill. The lodge has beautiful view of the lake, where we had the ceremony by the lake and the reception in the lodge. If you are looking for a personal tasting experience you will be disappointed Waldenwoods does tasting parties once a year. The downside to these is that you might not get to taste all the food on their menu before you event. Having said this all the food we sampled at the tasting was excellent and I don't think we could have made a bad choice. The lodge is gorgeous and needs very little decorating. There are vines w/lights in the ceiling, five fireplaces and huge windows on each side of the room. The bathrooms are upstairs and one single handicap restroom near the kitchen on the first floor. We did use the bridal suite upstairs which is helpful when you have a lot of women trying to get ready or need to go freshen up during your event. The only problem we had was the a/c stopped working and it got quite hot. Also we were suppose to get champagne for mimosa but it never showed up. The other con to Waldenwoods that I feel is important to mention is that they charge a 20% gratuity on the whole bill. When we questioned if this was just on the food and bar they said, "No it's on everything. It's actually more like a service charge." So we were charges an extra 20% on our ceremony site, the bridal suite, the groom's room, extra tables, and the linens, chargers and chairs we rented from the vendor that Waldenwoods required us to rent from. So just be aware this additional cost can add quite a bit to the final bill. Overall, this a beautiful venue and it was a magical day.

Waldenwoods is a beautiful place! Lots of scenery for fantastic pictures. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They had a big room upstairs for the ladies to get ready in (bridal suite), and the bathrooms were upstairs as well. The decor was very beautiful, almost a rustic feel. Such a beautiful location for a summer wedding!

Waldenwoods was a beautiful venue for my November 2012 wedding. The food was also great (and the portions were impressive!), and the premium bar upgrade was well worth the money. However, as a bride planning this wedding from several states away, it was sometimes difficult to work with Waldenwoods since they don't always communicate very clearly over email (and I certainly don't always have the time to have a phone conversation during business hours). Half the time the subject line of their emails is empty or just simply 'wedding', so good luck finding anything if you are searching for it later. Everything worked out just fine in the end and I had a lovely day -- I don't regret my venue choice for a second!
