Village Bakehouse was by far the best cake I have ever tasted in my life. Paulette was friendly, patient, and knew her stuff. She designs gorgeous cakes. She helped us design a unique cake that we absolutely loved and tasted amazing. I almost cried when I saw our cake at the venue. She went beyond our expectations. We received so many compliments on the taste, design, and beauty of our cake. I would highly recommend Village Bakehouse!

I wish I could give Village Bakehouse more than 5 stars. The first time I tried Village Bakehouse was at a bridal fair and up until that moment I must admit I had not given much thought to our wedding cake. That bridal show made me automatically book an cake testing appointment and I became obsessed with Village Bakehouse at that moment. We went cake tasting in December and we fell in love with a pink champagne cake with raspberry filling and cream cheese icing. I obsessed about our cake from December to August (which was our wedding month) and everywhere I went and everyone I could I would tell them about our delicious wedding cake and that they had to try it. I got married at Saguaro Buttes and I made the girls that worked the office get a piece of cake because I kept telling them how delicious it was. Everyone at our wedding was asking about it and I had to dedicate a facebook post to our cake because everyone wanted to know about our delicious cake. There were too things I looked forward to on our wedding day, 1) our husband and I exchanging vows and 2) our cake!! It so delicious that I feel no review in the world could make our cake any justice. You have to try for yourself. Service and professionalism were excellent and cake was beautiful! I am very happy!

The cake that Paulette made for us was wonderful. It was such a great surprise to finally see it on our wedding day. We thought that Paulette provided a great value compared to others that we tasted and she had some wonderful flavor combinations that made this choice an easy one for us.

That fact that she went above and beyond to provide us with a gift certificate for our anniversary makes her and Village Bakehouse an A+ in our book.

Loved our cake. The staff is great. Only issue I had was we requested a silver cake and it wasn't silver. I didn't let it ruin the day though. But if you are someone who would have an issue...make sure you are around when the cake is delivered

My Fiance and I sampled the Village Bakehouse at a small bridal show, and it was delicious. The customer service was wonderful, Paulette was very patient and friendly, helping me come up with the design and decide on the flavors. They even gave us a Military discount! \r\n\r\nWe had a family member pick up the cake, which I was nervous about, but it turned out just fine. I honestly didnt even see it until it was put out, and it was exactly as I had imagined it. \r\n\r\nEveryone that attended the wedding complimented us on the cake, how delicious it was, \"The wedding cake by which all others will be judged\" is how one of my guests described it. We chose half buttercream and half italian buttercream, to cut down the sweetness, and it was so smooth and creamy melt in your mouth. The layers were white with raspberry, chocolate with chocolate mousse, and lemon with raspberry. The cake was moist and rich, not dense, it held together remarkably well, and the filling was not gelatinous, but amazing and flavorful, full of raspberry pieces. I seriously had guests asking for more!\r\n\r\nI couldnt have asked for a better wedding cake, Thank you for providing such a lasting memory, and for the quality and care you put into making our cake!

Great tasting cake! We changed our plans after making them and decided to do cheesecake and regular cake layers and Paulette was very excited. The cakes looked great too and we provided her with the ribbon and flowers that we wanted. We also got a chocolate grooms's cake in the shape of a football and the Packers logo was really professional looking. Paulette is not the most organized person however so other brides might not like that. Also, she did not let me know that I needed to return the rental stand by a certain day (I had no idea what day that would be) but luckily someone else reminded me.

Our wedding cake was absolutely FANTASTIC! The price was right in line with the other bakeries in town, and definitely the best of the bunch! The tasting was so much fun and the cake ladies are all so friendly and willing to do whatever you want! Our cake looked PERFECT and everyone is still talking about how delicious our cake was.

I am so grateful to the Village Bakehouse for making our wedding cake. I have a few allergies that they accommodated for, and they made the whole process so easy, and they made something beautiful and delicious!

What I really admired about them is that they found a way to make me feel special. We had to come into town suddenly, and they arranged an appointment and a tasting. What pros! And what tasty cakes they make!

Village Bakehouse made our wedding cake dreams come true!! They allowed us to request different flavor combinations in each tier and worked with us to make a rather heavy cake topper that we'd selected work. They delivered right on time, without a hitch (that I know of anyway :]) and the cake was so delicious. When meeting to design and taste cake options, they took down everything we were saying and were drawing up ideas as we went! The cakes, icings, frostings, and fillings are out of this world! The Italian buttercream was so delicious that they allowed me to choose a blend of Italian and American buttercream for icing the cake! I would highly recommend any family or friends to Village Bakehouse for any special event.

I have known for years that when it came time for my wedding, I would do cupcakes instead of the traditional tiered cake. So, my FH and I set out to visit only the bakeries that had experience with making cupcakes for weddings. We visited 3 places in town and then a coworker suggested Village Bakehouse, which is a little further north. I am so glad we decided to check it out because we loved it from the moment we sat down with Missie and sampled the flavors! Way more moist and flavorful than the others we had tried. OH, and the Italian buttercream was to die for! Our decision was pretty much made.
We were happy to find out that we could have a flatter and less thick icing on the cupcakes because we didn't like the 3-inch high frosting we'd seen at one place. The hard part was choosing which flavors we wanted. They were very flexible, so we were able to have 5 different flavors, not including our cake topper's flavor. We chose: sour cream chocolate with chocolate ganache, white champagne with Italian buttercream, white cake with raspberry filling with chocolate ganache, autumn spice with cream cheese, and red velvet with Italian buttercream. Our cake was a white champagne cake with lemon cream cheese icing.
One thing though: it was hard to get an idea of price because depending on which decorations or special touches you wanted, it would add a few cents/cupcake here and there. It was sort of a mystery, unless you knew exactly what to ask for and I had NO clue how to decorate the cupcakes, other than knowing that I didn't want to have sugar flowers or fondant. With Paulette's and Missie's help, we were able to come up with a way to highlight the wedding color (purple), but also keep a consistent look and not have icing that would color peoples' tongues ; p. I gave them photo examples of how I wanted the cupcakes laid out and what our cake topper style should be and I left the rest up to them.
They did an AMAZING job, organizing and decorating the cupcakes like I'd hoped and I even was impressed with the cupcake stand. It was more solid and attractive than I had imagined. My only regret is that I didn't get to eat the different flavor cupcakes myself! At the end of the night, we had a few leftovers of the autumn spice ones (which we ate in the following days), but other than that, they were all eaten up.
Finally, unlike with other vendors, we didn't have to pay anything for our order months in advance, so we could easily make any additions or deletions closer to the wedding. I do agree with a previous reviewer's comment that Missie and Paulette were hard to get a hold of. They're so busy and in high demand, I guess! Regardless, we highly recommend Village Bakehouse for your cake needs.

Our cake was one of the best parts of our wedding. The Village Bakehouse did a magnificient job.
This was the only bakery we went to because we fell in love when we went for our tasting. Missy was very pleasant, and the cakes were to die for. We chose pink champagne for the top and bottom layers and white for the middle, with a mixed buttercream filling.
The design was gorgeous. I found a picture online, and they were able to recreated it using our wedding colors and flowers. I wanted to use buttercream instead of fondant, and I thought that it wouldn't look quite as good as the picture, but it looked even better.
Everyone loved the cake- and it was DELICIOUS!!

Our wedding cake from Village Bakehouse was gorgeous! I had a very specific design in mind (that I saw from a magazine), but it was in fondant (which i dislike), and I wanted it done in buttercream. Obviously I knew this would not be the same, but the cake I got on my wedding was very close! Plus everyone told me how delicious it was, and one of my friends at the wedding actually asked me who my bakery was so she could order a cake from them the next day-- talk about validation!

The only thing that would have made this a perfect experience is if the email/phone communication would have been faster. I was doing my wedding from out of town, on a very short planning schedule (3 months), and it was sometimes difficult to get a hold of people that could answer my questions and concerns. I'm sure it would have been a lot easier if I were in town. But I will say they were very flexible in changing what my cake was going to look like, and the guest count, letting me finalize just a few days before the wedding. Overall, this was a great bakery to work with, and really came through where it counted-- taste, looks, and on time.

My cake turned our PERFECT. I was a little scared of how it would turn out because I had found a picture and wanted a few details different. But they did a GREAT job. They even placed all the flowers and topper on the cake for us and it was so pretty. The taste was Great as well. We did vanilla and lemon curd on 2 layers and the sour cream dark chocolate with raspberry for the other 2 layers... So tasty!

We met with many bakeries and Paulette with Village Bakehouse blew us away. We had been considering tarts instead of cake and Paulette was the only bakery to provide a sample. Also, the design we wanted for the cake was made out to be a very difficult design by others and we had been told it would likely need to be done in fondant - which, if at all possible, we did not want. During our tasting, Paulette whipped up a sample in a flash and it was exactly what we wanted.

My husband's parents decided to order him a groom's cake - a VW mini bus. It could have turned out goofy, or awesome, and it was definitely the latter. It was adorable. People cracked up over it.

Not only did our cake(s) turn out unbelievably gorgeous, it tasted amazing too! We got pink champagne with Italian butter cream, sour cream chocolate with chocolate ganache, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, and autumn spice with classic buttercream. The cake could have been made in only three tiers, but we couldn't decide on just three flavors (all so good), so Paulette made it in four (still the same amount of cake) and it was the perfect size.

Paulette really made the experience for us - so talented, sweet and responsive. I would recommend the Village Bakehouse to any bride.
