We're so happy we found Tim! Our venue was a bit on the small side, so we needed a photographer who could be a fly on the wall. We were also looking for someone familiar with downtown Brooklyn, as we knew that's where we'd be doing our first look. After reading Tim's reviews, looking at his work, and hopping on the phone with him -- we knew he was our guy. We were even more confident in that decision when we received a handwritten "thank you" in the mail soon after signing our contract. On the day, Tim was a rockstar -- keeping us true to our timelines, putting our families at ease, and capturing all of the magic. Within 24 hours, he sent us several photos as a sampling (and to satisfy our Instagrams). We got our full album within a MONTH -- organized by section, with hundreds and hundreds of beautiful selects to choose from. He also did a fantastic job at obeying our request to capture a photo with each table at the reception and getting plenty of photos of our family and guests. Tim's the best! -

We hired Tim Ryan Smith for our wedding in October 2019, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Tim and his assistant Austin delivered a very complete set of hundreds of incredible shots, and the editing treatment is exactly what we were looking for. Tim was very professional, personable, friendly, and sincere. We were also impressed by his ability to get the most difficult subjects to pose/smile properly, as well as his ability to scope out the best scenes on each property. We also love the fact that Tim delivers high resolution photos. The quality and professionalism Tim provided were top notch, and we feel strongly that we got what we paid for (and more). -

Tim was one of our absolute favorite vendors to work with. From the minute we booked with him he was easy to communicate with, made it very easy for us to make decisions about our plan and day-of timeline and even made extra time to meet with us in person before our wedding day to work out some details. Tim made the day of our wedding a dream come true for us. He made us feel so at ease and everything was seamless. Tim also came up with so many cool ideas for our wedding pictures and made sure all of the details were covered. His work is incredible. Highly recommend! -

We were fortunate enough to be put in touch with Tim by another photographer prior to our wedding. Tim's work speaks for itself - his photos are stunning and he's unbelievable at what he does. It was after our first conversation on the phone, however, that we knew we wanted to work with him. He's incredibly personable and goes above and beyond in getting to know his clients. We met up several times leading up to our wedding and also had him take photos during our engagement party which we thoroughly treasure.
On the day of the wedding, Tim was a calming presence for us. It felt like he was a longtime friend which helped put us at ease and he offered really useful advice which we appreciated. He successfully guided the wedding party and our large families, keeping us on track prior to the ceremony and throughout the reception.
Tim quickly shared a preview of the photos with us, just days after the wedding. We received our full gallery approximately one month later and we could not be more thrilled with the final product. Our friends and family cannot stop talking about how beautiful the photos are. We would absolutely recommend Tim and hope to find an excuse to work with him again someday. -

Tim is honestly the best photographer you'll ever find. He is incredibly talented, and has a knack for capturing the "real" vs staged moments. After working in the wedding industry, and helping to plan my sister's wedding and then planning my own wedding, it is beyond clear that Tim is the best in the business. Tim is easy to work with, thoughtful, easygoing, and is such a pro at what he does. He makes your day completely seamless and stress free, and never gets "in the way" like a lot of wedding photographers and videographers do. He continued to send sneak peak photos at lightning speed to both myself and my husband following our wedding, and the photos were so stunning that friends of ours are already booking Tim for their weddings!!! He is the ABSOLUTE BEST and it would be a mistake not to use him for your wedding (or honestly any photo needs).
Thank you, Tim, for capturing the best day of our lives -- we are so so happy you were a part of it.
Now we need an excuse for another event so we can work with you!!!!! -

For the sake of getting to the point, you should choose to work with Tim for 3 reasons: his photography, his professional presence, and the fact he is just an awesome guy. When I was searching for photographers, Tim came highly recommended and I loved his work. I was looking for his documentary-style of photography, which I feel really captures the essence of your special day (although we certainly got the required staged family and wedding party photos in there, without them at all being cheesy or forced). Additionally, I was thrilled to learn Tim is very low maintenance when it comes to equipment; meaning he's not going to roll in with tons of lights or tripods that I often feel ruin the ambiance of a wedding. He has such an amazing eye and will guide you where, when, and how to take the best pictures. (The night of, he and our wedding coordinator even made the executive decision to move up the cake cutting because of the incredible sunset!) Given I am extra Type-A and thorough though, I wanted to explore my options. I reached out to him and a few others via email, and spoke to them on the phone. Right away, I loved his demeanor and personality. He was calm (but not dull), confident (but not at all obnoxious), and clearly loves what he does. It's important to remember you will be spending pretty much your entire wedding day with your photographer(s), so clicking personality-wise was super important to me. After meeting with him and another highly recommended photographer, there was no question; we knew we wanted to spend our special day with Tim documenting it. Between our engagement shoot, coordinating the months leading up to, and of course our wedding day, Tim was patient, flexible, friendly, and genuine. Before the wedding, we gave Tim our must-have shot list per his requests, and didn't think twice about whether or not he would handle it. My husband and I truly enjoyed ourself during what can be an awkward and forced few hours, thanks to Tim (and his lovely day-of second shooter, Allison!). Thank you, Tim, for doing such an amazing job capturing our wedding! -

We planned to capture our wedding photos before the ceremony, and Tim brought a wonderful calmness and sense of humor to a hectic morning. His documentary approach to wedding photography is so refreshing. We just received our photos from Tim, and they are BEAUTIFUL!!! He captured lovely photos of my husband and I. There are so many to choose from, and I am really picky about photos of myself. Tim also took beautiful images of so many of our guests, as well as amazing photos from the dance floor! I feel that Tim captured the experience of our wedding. Tim is a great person to spend your wedding day with, and his photography is stunning!

We used Tim for our rehearsal & our wedding, and we are very glad to have had him with us for both events. We now have beautiful, heartfelt photos that capture the moments from both.
He was on time, comfortable and assertive. He hustled and even hung around a little extra time to make sure he got us all the shots we were looking for! Generally, he rocked it & and was a pleasure to be around.
We received our photos in a timely manner and love the quality! We are grateful he was part of our special day!! We recommend & would use him again. -

User3375062 Sent on 01/04/2018My now-wife-then-fiance and I flip flopped for a long time on whether or not to have a photograher at our wedding. We felt unsure about letting a stranger into our lives on such an intimate occassion. It’s funny to think about now, because after having Tim at our wedding, we can’t imagine what we would have done without him. Choosing Tim turned out to be easily one of the best decisions we made.
We clicked with Tim immediately. He was kind enough to meet with us a couple weeks before—on his suggestion—to get an idea of what we wanted, which helped us get comfortable and develop a rapport. Had he not been our photographer, we probably would have invited Tim as a guest.
Never having been married before, my wife and I didn’t know what we didn’t know. Luckily, we had Tim to guide us through. It was like having a good friend by your side who just happens to be an amazing photographer. He knew the venue, he knew the best shots to get, and he knew the best way to get them. He was calm, cool, steady, tactful, prepared, and professional. And somehow, he managed to keep everything feeling totally natural, not only in the compositions but also in the moment.
Tim took on every request—including embarrassing parent ones—with a playful grin. He somehow managed to do the seemingly impossible by impressing everyone one of our family members and friends—something we will spend the rest of our lives trying to live up to.
We had countless guests tell us how much they enjoyed Tim, to which we excitedly responded, “We know! He’s great, right?!” He was a complete joy to have out our wedding and we feel lucky to have gotten to spend the day with him. His pictures feel exactly what the day felt like: filled with love, happiness, and warmth. If we could make only one wedding-related recommendation, we would recommend Tim Ryan Smith. And if we could make two, we would recommend Tim twice.

He arrived early to our hotel on the day of our wedding to scope out places to take pictures and to also go over our desired photos to make sure we got everything we wanted. He kept us on time throughout the day, and even learned all of our parents and siblings names!
He was unobtrusive during the ceremony, which i found to be very impressive seeing as it was a bit of tight quarters. During the reception he made sure to gather the groups we wanted to take pictures with and then grabbed my husband and I last. It was effortless for us to get the photos we wanted.
We were also pleasantly surprised that we got our pictures back so quickly, and that they turned out gorgeous. He is truly talented at capturing light and composing beautiful and emotional photos.
Not only is he incredibly professional, but he has a warm personality and overall good vibe. We cannot recommend him more for weddings or any other special events! -
