Theresa is amazing! After having planned my wedding and getting through it, I learned a few important things. My wedding was the happiest day of my life. And alot had to do with how I felt: beautiful and loved! All in all, not everything is going to go your way but, my dress was perfect (which is important), but also my makeup and hair was gorgeous (which I realize is also the other most important part)! And the morning of my wedding, I felt calm and confident because I looked like myself but so so beautiful, natural, pristine and glowing. (And I typically am much more self conscious about how I look as all girls are.)
I had Theresa do two looks, one for the ceremony in the morning and one for the reception at night. She was great at helping me decide what looks to do and suggested how my makeup and hair will look for each event based on how I wanted to look (especially with a Vietnamese outfit change, I had to wear this donut shaped hat for 30 minutes and she was able to create a hair style that looked gorgeous on me.) We met on my preview and also I had done a engagement session with her too and saw how great she worked and my makeup and hair was so lovely, I didn't have to worry about anything on my day because I knew she had the capability, skill, but also refined taste. Theresa also offers a groom service which I got for my husband. Her team went by his place and did a quick touch up to maintain shine especially having a ceremony outside in sunny California weather. I think that's very beneficial for your photos is you're husband have oily skin. It just completes everything.
Theresa arrived with her team at 4 in the morning to get us ready for our 830am long day. She is an angel because not only is she talented in her makeup and hair skills, she's a great person to have on your day, to laugh and calm you down and so professional. She's also a perfectionist, so she will fix every little thing, even when you area already astounded by her work. She really has an eye for making you look the best, most symmetrical and balanced just by how she contours and applies the makeup and really looks at all the shape and detail of your face.
I don't have perfect skin, but my skin was clear and perfect on the day with the airbrush makeup. It was light on my skin as if I didn't have anything on and I think that was a main reason I wasn't fussing with my hair or makeup. I could smile and laugh as much as I wanted and knew nothing was going to smudge because she set it all in place. Also, I'm a sweater, and my wedding was outdoors in a Japanese garden, so one of my main concerns was perspiring off my makeup. Theresa advised me to do airbrush, and even if you have nerves, there was not a drip anywhere. My dress was strapless, and my whole chest and arms were all a nice even tone with my face. She provided me a touchup kit and I didn't even use it because my makeup stayed on from 730am -5pm, I only put on more lip gloss after eating lunch.
Theresa is also very flexible in changing my hair look on the day of my wedding. She ended up doing three looks because my hair was a bit messy after a full day of posing for pictures and laying on it and fixed up my five bridesmaids makeup and hair too. She really wanted to make sure all of us looked fabulous and was very focused and put all her effort into us. She is able to make hair just listen to exactly what she wants it to do and manipulate it from casual to sophisticated but all looking natural with minimal pins and hairspray so your hair still looks soft and pretty.
Before I even planned a wedding, things seem to cost alot, but the one thing I learned is the day is determined by how you feel and also how your fiance feels seeing you....and that is really priceless. So, I advise that makeup and hair is something that you can set abit of your budget for and Theresa is comparable to others but also a doll and so sweet to work with. She's someone you would love to be your friend because she really cares and takes pride in her work, in every detail. And from a business standpoint, she is the top of the top in skill and talent.
Lastly, she helped my bustle my dress because for some reason my bustle was missing and she helped my bridesmaid come up with a last minute fix and I was able to do my first dance with my hubby! She's just overall talented and quick and efficient too. I know she will be very successful.
I never write reviews, so it takes alot for me to spend the time to do this because I really appreciated her efforts and I know how stressful it is for a bride to be planning a wedding and putting the trust and money to a vendor and hope that they provide you what you always hope it will be or dreamed of and more and Theresa was able to deliver that! So, just call her up and book a preview and you will fall in love with her!

i can't say enough about Theresa & her talent. her makeup & hair on my wedding day was exactly what i wanted! she definitely listens to what you want & executes nothing less than perfection. she's professional, on time (showed up at 5am EXACT), yet she's friendly & so sweet.
i found Theresa through The Knot magazine. after reviewing her portfolio on her website i knew i HAD to book Theresa. i felt confident that she knows how to personalize the perfect look for any ethnicity & occasion.
my makeup and hair lasted from 5am for my morning ceremony/reception until 4am (for my cocktail party that same night). i'm so impressed & would highly recommend her to any of my friends for ANY event.

Theresa was wonderful. She is not only talented and does a super job on the hair & make-up, she also helped me with some other aspects of the wedding. On the day of the wedding there was a mishap from the hotel on getting rooms ready for the wedding party and all the girls had to get ready in a small regular room instead of the suite. Needless to say I extremely unhappy and frazzled by the situation since moving from one room to another threw off the schedule, but Theresa was able to calm me down and still got everyone ready and looking great on time. I could not be any happier with her service. Book with Theresa, you won't regret it!

Theresa is amazing to work with! She responded quickly to my initial email and we met for a trial hair/mua the very next week. Theresa listened carefully to the look that I wanted for my wedding and the very first look that she gave me ended up being the only one I needed to book her for my September 5, 2009 wedding!
I could really only afford to have one look for my wedding, but a couple of days before the wedding I decided that it would be worth if for her to stay around after the tea ceremony to make sure I was ready for my western ceremony. She was completely flexible and agreed to work for an extra few hours. Although Theresa does a great job of having your makeup stay for a very long time, and you will be completely happy if she just does one look for you, I just HAD to have her stay a little while longer to help me with my second look. Boy was she worth it! All of my friends and family commented on how beautiful the makeup and hair was!
I have thick hair and with previous up-does they would always fall down. With Theresa's expertise, my hair stayed up all night long! I'm also a big crier and none of my makeup wore off the entire night! Her touch-up kit is also a nice touch. I didn't really need to use a lot of the things in the kit, but the kit remains in my purse for all of my beauty needs! She's really knowledgeable so listen to every word she has to say!
Theresa and her assistant also did a great job with my mom and mother-in-law. My moms felt beautiful and really shined all night long because of the great hair and makeup they received. I am pretty sure my dads were happy with the results as well.
What else can I say? Theresa is on my speed dial should I have another event to attend! What are you waiting for? Book her NOW before the word really gets out on how wonderful this stylist is.

Theresa is a natural at what she does. She doesn't have the years of experiences as other hair & makeup artists, but it's only because she's younger than most. She can customize any look you ask of her. I was a bit worried by some of her ideas because I'm more traditional when it comes to the way I look, but I went with her ideas and man ... I LOVE IT! She meshed both of our ideas together and I came out looking amazing for all 3 styles. She provided all-day service and was prompt to every event. Theresa is cheerful and easy to work with. She is amazing and I am completely satisfied with her work.

Theresa and her team are fantastic. I used Theresa for my hair and my bridesmaids' hair on my wedding day. I had endured 4 hair trials before finding Theresa -- and she was worth the wait. Not only is she incredibly sweet, but she made my hair look amazing. She pulled it up in an updo that looked effortless and full, despite the fact that I have shoulder-length, very fine hair. It was stunning. I highly recommend her services.

I am sure you want to know what my amazing and talented Hair / Make-up artist, Theresa Huang, did for me on my big day. Following traditions from Taiwan, I changed into three different dresses and 4 looks for the wedding. Theresa Huang, helped accent my features and provided four different looks for me. The Elegance designer dress featured an extravagantly long train and was the romantic epitome of modern bridal beauty.
During the Tea ceremony, I wore a custom made sleek and sexy Chinese dress with dragon and phoenix designs as well as a red and gold flower in my hair to complement traditional Chinese dress. The red color in Chinese culture signifies happiness.
Reception Grand Entrance ? Theresa changed my look to a Vintage by hooking my train in the raised position and changed my hair style to a 1940s-inspired side chignon with finger wave and dramatic pleated hair accessory accented by creamy white gloves complimenting my elegant wedding dress.
Lastly, I changed to a dramatic pink ball-gown dress for the cake cutting. The Princess style hair was perfect: playful half-up half-down asymmetrical hairstyle accented by a pink beaded hair flower to match the romantic outfits for this aspect of the reception.

Our wedding was featured in one of the largest wedding magazines in Taiwan. And our wedding video was selected in the 2nd annual real wedding awards at the Knot.

I would definitely recommend Theresa for any occasion. She did a great job with my make up for my wedding. Even though my wedding we in July during the hot weather, my make up stayed put for the entire night. She is also great with hair. I can't say enough about Theresa. She is a very sweet, kind, talented, and thoughtful make-up artist. I almost lost the opportunity to have her as my make-up artist because I almost booked someone else. She is the ONE! After our first meeting, I told my husband that I have to book her. Her working attitude is focused, honest, and responsible. She even helped me look for my evening dress and matching heels. She was just like my personal shopper. On my wedding day, she got there on time with her 2 assistants. When I got into my dressing room she was already set up and ready to work. She made me look like a princess. All my guests were very impressed. I got A LOT of compliments that day even after the wedding. In addition to working on me on my wedding day, she also helped my 3 bridesmaids, mother-in-law, grandmother, 3 aunts, and 1 cousin touch up after her assistants left for the day. They all looked BEAUTIFUL. Even my picky mother-in-law liked her work. Theresa was a superwoman and VERY professional on my big day. Theresa saw that I was nervous before walking down the aisle so she made me laugh by telling me a joke and helped me relax by telling me that I looked gorgeous. Having Theresa around really made me feel calm and beautiful. She is worth every single penny. I have already referred 2 brides to Theresa. Finding the best makeup artist and hair stylist is critical for you big day. Not only your makeup artist/hair stylist got the talent, she also needs to be easy to work with and willing to meet the needs the bride. Theresa Huang got all these qualities. The bridal service by Theresa Huang herself is highly recommended, and she is a passionate, trendy and excellent makeup/hair stylist. I would give her 5 stars. One star less is for the services for bridesmaids and moms by other artists, some of whom could be selected a bit more wisely. But in general, we had a pleasant time.

With 5 bridesmaids and 2 mothers, they were very open to different requests when it came to slight changes in hairstyles and most importantly the girls looked GREAT! I have to give excellent reviews for Theresa! I booked her almost a year prior to my wedding day because I felt in love with her work after looking through her portfolio and I liked her personality. I just stopped looking around for more make-up artists after I met her. She was professional, nice and I can't say enough about her makeup skills. Theresa did my make-up for engagement portraits, wedding, and bridal portraits. They all turned out great and I love how my make up looked so natural and soft! She definitely made me feel pretty and confident on my wedding day! I would give Theresa more than 5 stars if I could!
