I am the mother of the bride who paid for the wedding and I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend having a wedding here. When we booked the hall, Jaimie was very nice and promised us a lot more than what was actually given. You MUST have every single thing in writing if you are planning on having your wedding here.

We were told we can have any cake filling and cake design that we wanted just as long as it wasn't outrageous. My daughter said she wanted a red velvet beach themed cake and was told "no problem". A couple of weeks before the wedding we were told we had choice of "3" cakes and no red velvet because the baker didn't know how to make red velvet and if we wanted any design on the cake, we would have to pay for it!!!!! because we had the "OPAL PLAN"???? No one ever mentioned any different kinds of plans!!!! The cake we did get was so dry, it seemed like it was AT LEAST A WEEK OLD!!!!

The day of the wedding we had the ceremony outside (the main reason we had it here) and the beach area was FILTHY!!!! My daughter had to walk over garbage to take the pictures.

We were supposed to have 6 passed appetizers. I got ONE!!!! Half way through the cocktail hour I mentioned that we were supposed to have SIX passed appetizers. They came out with the rest but it was enough for about 20 people not l35!!!!

One of my guests arrived early and asked the person sitting at the reception area about the wedding and was VERY RUDELY TOLD TO GO AND SIT DOWN AND WAIT until they called them!!!!! This woman is always rude and has to be a family relative because no reputable place would have this woman greeting people!!!!

They told us the chicken dish would be a cornish hen stuffed with bread and prociutto stuffing. It was an EXTREMELY DRY chicken cutlet stuffed with spinach and peppers!!! No one at my table could eat it!!!!

The only good thing I have to say is that they did a good job on the flowers. Artie is the nicest man ever. (Oh, by the way....you have to get your flowers from them!!)

The only good thing about the Surf Club is the appearance when you walk in the vestibule......EVERYTHING ELSE SUCKS!!!!!! DON'T HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE!!!

Our venue was beautiful. The people there are very nice and do a great job. The food was not only great but there was so much of it!!! The only issues I had was when you sign the contract they are alittle misleading with the vendors/kids half price thing. If you guarentee 200 guests then you pay full price for all of them no matter if they are kids or vendors. Its only if you go over do they reduce the price. They also charge $1,500 just to turn on their kinetic lighting(to flip a switch)! Other then that great views and great service.

Don't get a wedding cake from this vendor. The cake is plain and nothing special in taste. I tasted the wedding cake at this vendor on my friend's wedding and it was not good at all.

As soon as we walked into the beautiful lobby surrounded by the marble staircase we knew this was THE PLACE. We met with Carlo who was amazing to work with. He assisted and answered all of our questions and concerns. He made the process so much easier for us. On the day of the wedding, our Maitre d' was Chris. This guy was on point and kept watch over the entire event like a pro. Our bridal attendant was amazing. This woman put it all together for me. She was right there when someone stepped on my bustle and ripped it – she fixed it immediately and no one was the wiser. She thought of things I didn't think of and made suggestions based on her experience as a bridal attendant. She was fabulous. Our guests are still talking about the cocktail hour and Viennese hour. The quality and presentation of the food was incredible. Our wedding day was amazing and went off without a hitch...not one. If you want an elegant, beautiful event with amazing food and professional staff - This is the place for you

We started working with the surf club about 8 months before our wedding. We met with Carlo who was amazing to work with. He assisted and answered all of our questions and concerns. He made the process so much easier for us. We also worked with Artie (you will have to use the florist from the Surf club). At first I had a bit of an attitude that I couldn't choose my own florist. Well, Artie was much more than a florist. He had great ideas but wasn't pushy. He listened to us and provided it us with a beautifully decorated room. On the day of the wedding, our Maitre d' was Chris. This guy was on point and kept watch over the entire event like a pro. Merrill was our bridal attendant. This woman put it all together for me. She thought of things I didn't think of and made suggestions based on her experience as a bridal attendant. A true gem. Our wedding day was amazing and went off without a hitch...not one. If you want a classy, seamless, beautiful event. This is the place to go.

This venue is amazing. The renovations are beautiful, the food was excellent, and the staff was absolutely amazing. We had no issues the day of the wedding.

One thing I will note however is that it can be very difficult to get in touch with anyone there with questions. This improved greatly once we began dealing with Artie (who is wonderful!) and Chris G. Communication can be improved, but in the end everything turned out perfect!

I booked Surf Club through my wedding coordinator, so I didn't have as much exposure to their staff as others may have. What I can say is this:

1. the site itself is STUNNING. Simply unforgettable. The location wowed our guests more than anything else. We had our cocktail hour on the veranda, our ceremony outside and our meal in the 1st floor ballroom. All was beautiful. We looked at a similar venue on the same street and it wasn't nearly as nice.

2. Lauren was my bridal attendant on the day of. She was excellent - there when I needed her and otherwise out of the way.

We are so happy we chose the Surf Club for our reception venue. The service was excellent. We initially booked with Carlo and finalized everything with Chris G. Chris was very responsive to any questions we had and worked with us to figure things out and set our menu. Our maitre'd Chris R. was attentive, made sure everything was running smoothly and asked us frequently if we needed anything. My bridal attendant Merrill was wonderful. She was always there to help me out and made sure we ate (not to mention she made sure we got a tast of everything from the cocktail hour). She even packed up our entree to go since we didn't get to eat it. The quality of the food is top notch and all of our guests couldn't say enough about how much they loved the food and the venue.

Beautiful venue. Customer service leaves something to be desired. Managers and owners were very rude to us, often lied about things, didn't return our calls, etc. Not flexible at all and we felt very nickle and dimed. In the end, they gave us a beautiful wedding, but there were a lot of snags along the way.

The staff at the Surf Club was professional and efficient. I was so worried about the hundreds of wedding details, but the staff at the Surf Club knew had to get it all done. The wedding was absolutely stunning. I would use the Surf Club again.

BEAUTIFUL VENUE WITH GREAT PHOTO OPS. AMAZING FOOD & KIND STAFF. A LITTLE LESS FLEXIBLE THAN OTHER CATERING HALLS, HOWEVER A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND A MUST FOR ALL OF THOSE PICKY BRIDES LIKE ME.

There are three things that The Surf Club has going for it: the location on the Long Island Sound, the renovations in the hall and entrance are gorgeous, and there is no shortage of food at the cocktail hour and the reception. We were pleased with the attention that we received from Chris, the owner, when we initially signed our contract and picked our menu. However, when I called with questions or to set up appointments with Chris, I spoke with Amy, one of the receptionists, who was extremely rude. She is not professional and you would think that The Surf Club would not want her to be the first person that people deal with, because they'll turn away.

The wedding was beautiful overall; however I was disappointed with several things. We had the reception during the afternoon but the ceremony was outside at 11:30am. We were told by Chris that the guests could start arriving at 10am, because there were several out-of-town guests coming and the ceremony had to start on time so it did not run into cocktail hour. He said that they would be all set up at 10am and that there would be plenty of mimosas passed. However when guests started to arrive, the place cards had not even been set up, no champagne was being passed, and there were workers working on the unfinished fountain in the front when I arrived at 11:00am. Tacky. Not to mention, they were showing people the grounds 20 mins before my ceremony was about to start (photographers had to wait for them to move before pictures could be taken).

I was pleased overall, but these few things should not have happened, especially since they claim to be so attentive to detail!

Such an amazing and beautiful Venue!!! The scenary is absolutely breathtaking and great for pictures. Great Customer service and the food was super delicious!!!

The Surf Club did a great Job On My wedding Day. The place looks very classy & elegant. Jamie and Chris worked closely to insure that everything thing went as planned. The food and service were Fabulous. I liked that Chris was overseeing the whole event and made sure we were happy. Thank you to Chris and Jamie for all your help. I highly recommend this place to anyone who knows good food and quality service.

I loved the Surf Club .. it was a dream come true.. Them did renovation right before my wedding everyhthing, was done except the big fountain in the front driveway... but other than that i was very please with the staff,and the venue!!! The food was great!!!
