I can't express enough how grateful we are to have chosen The Royal Courtyard at West Neck Event Venue as our wedding venue! The venue is breathtaking and checks off all the boxes needs for a beautiful event. The owners and staff were extremely professional, friendly and efficient. Our day was stress free and our guests raved about both the venue the delicious food. Sharon and my planner Ellen were the "A" team! -

They made the planning process seamless. We had last minute changes and they accommodated our ceremony as well as reception. They truly capture exactly what your dream is and turn it into a reality. Our wedding was more than we could have ever imagined. Thank You -

The Royal Courtyard is THE PLACE to host your event! From the wonderful staff that treats you like family, to the amazing food, and beautiful decor! This venue is a hidden gem in Hampton Roads. Look no further when in search of a venue for your next event. I hosted my engagement party in February and everything was superb! I will be booking them for all future events and recommending all family and friends do as well! -

Samantha Sent on 09/12/2012The Royal Courtyard is a nice venue, and Mrs. Norman the owner includes a lot of things in your package that a lot of other venues would charge for. The only problem I had with Mrs. Norman is that she talks a lot about other things versus just stinking to the subject you are talking about. -

Beautiful place to have you wedding and reception. Mrs. Sharon and husband tries to accommodate you on all your plans to make it happen. Service was great. I would definitely recommend them to make your dreams come trueThe Royal Courtyard's reply:

User1879372 Sent on 10/22/2014The food was HORRIBLE! ! When my fiance and I had a taste testing two months prior the food was excellent. We just requested two minor changes to the menu and the chef and owner agreed to the changes. When we got there ready to eat dinner, we noticed that they didnt honor our request and everything was dry with no flavor. It was embarrassing because my guest did not eat the food. They just picked through it like I did. For the most part Isabelle did an outstanding job decorating the reception hall. -

My Fiance and I went into this place on Saturday to take a look at it for our wedding in April of next year. Noel gave us a tour of the property and then we sat down with the coordinator. We gave them the exact date that we were looking for and went through a few of the things that they offer and they told us they would present us with a proposal. We did get the proposal that day and emailed them on Sunday to let them know that we accept and asked how do we make the requested downpayment.
Today Noel called my Fiance to let her know that a couple came in after us and was unsure about when they wanted to do their wedding so Noel and coordinator suggested to them the day that we came in and asked for!
Now I am no expert in the wedding business but I would think that you would not suggest a day that someone just came in and asked for. These people paid their deposit and set that date. Had they asked for a deposit while we were there we would have given it to them or they could have at least called us to let us know that someone else was inquiring about that date and we would have paid it.
This is a horrible way to do business and I would never recommend this place to anyone. If they treat you like this in the beginning, I would hate to see how they handle things later.The Royal Courtyard's reply:
Thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about your concern. We set a high standard for ourselves and are truly sorry to hear that standard was not met in your interaction with our business. We do understand your frustration as your potential wedding date has been booked. When sending out a proposal, this is not a hold for your wedding date. During this time, the date is available to whomever would like to book on a first come first serve basis. Which in this case the other couple came in specifically for an open Saturday in April as well. Please refer to your proposal that states verbatim "Thank you for considering the Royal Courtyard as a possible Venue to celebrate your Special Event. This is a Proposal ONLY. It is not a contract and does not secure the date until deposit is made. Should you desire to move forward, a contract will be drawn up for your review and signature." Fortunately, we have other dates available throughout 2021! We will be more than happy to adjust your dates to a more suitable date we have available. We have reached out to you, unfortunately these dates did not fit your event. We apologize again for the misunderstanding; however, this is a common procedure among wedding venues worldwide. Congratulations again on your engagement! Best of luck moving forward with your wedding.
