The venue was the first and only site we looked at for both our Ceremony and Reception. The entire family of Z Mansion vendors provided a very warm and professional environment. Our package included great music from the DJ, delicious food from the caterer, drinks, flowers and linens, and excellent photography. The key to success with the Z mansion family is communicating any and all of your concerns and questions. As a Bride and Groom, if you plan with them they will help make your wedding day wonderful. The biggest selling point was the flexibility in creating the package that works with the Bride and Grooms individual needs and preferences.

I had the most amazing wedding thanks to all the vendors. The owners are nice. Tom is very social and easy to talk to. Em isn't as approachable and is kind of to herself. The vendors however are great! They ensure everything works perfectly and smoothly. The vendors took care of every detail, anything that was needed was taken care of. The bartenders, caterers, florist/decorator, the makeup artist, reverend, and photographer made sure that it was the most memorable day of my life. I have zero regrets or complaints. It was absolutely the most beautiful day of my life.

its nice to have everything bundled up.. on their website it says that they treat you like family and that you feel like youre at home.. i wouldnt go and say all of that.. they were pretty flexible when it came to payments.. as for customer service i felt like they knew we needed them so when we would go over to do wedding related things they really could care less that we were there. they did get the job done. the vendors there were pretty great though. also for all the money that you can only assume they get from weddings almost everyday of the week. you'd think they'd do some updating on their lighting for the outside. little lights on trees are cute but flood lights .. i could have done with out

This was one of the first places my husband and I checked out. We were immediately impressed with the packages/affordability and flexibility of picking what we wanted from the packages. We only had our reception here. You have the option of selecting one of their vendors or selecting outside vendors. However, I did feel as if they make it a little bit more difficult if you choose to go with an outside vendor because of all the required paperwork (license and insurance policies. I had to go to my cake vendor and request that they send their insurance information to the mansion. They were very confused about that and I felt like I was put in the middle). Look into getting event insurance if you plan on booking here and plan on using outside vendors, they don't require it but it sure feels like it. The owners can give you a website where you can purchase it. Keep in mind that it is their home that they rent out for these events and I'm sure that their home owners insurance requires this of them. I'll have to say that the owners were very friendly and nice at first. Once we booked, it was a little difficult to get a hold of them by phone. I found that I was most successful at communicating with them through email. Their payment process was great and very flexible. I did find it was easier to book any additional add-ons (linens, catering) through the vendors themselves instead of going through the owners and pay them separately. Rincon market was our caterer and they were AMAZING! Kelly was so accomodating especially since we maxed out their guest limit. The food was sooo good, we got a lot of compliments from our guests. Sheila the bartender was also very accomodating, we dealt with her the most since the owners take a lot of trips out of town. Kelly and Sheila both made sure that the evening went smoothly. The linen and flower ladies were also very helpful. I did have a lot of my own ideas and I was very specific about what I wanted so that helped as well. We went over things quite a few times and they were also very accomodating. Wilson and Henry photography were spectacular! I was really impressed with their photography package and the amount of hours they worked my wedding. (From 10 am to 1 am).
I was a very organized bride and I was on top of everything and I really think that helped. If you book this place, don't expect every little detail to be done for you, remember that this is your wedding and these vendors deal a ton of weddings weekly. Here are my complaints: we booked a projector through the owners and when I was trying to find out who was in charge of setting it up, I couldn't get a straight answer. The owners told me the DJ would set it up, the DJ told me the owners should set it up. That was extremely disappointing especially since the projector did not end up working and we didn't get to show a slideshow that our friend made for us even though we paid for it. The DJ (AJ DJ services) never contacted me once I booked him. I had to call him several times before we met. I already had everything laid out for him (which music to play for what, the names of people in my wedding party, etc.) and he still got it wrong. He even mispronounced names and blamed it on not having his glasses on (why didn't you bring your glasses if you knew you'd be reading???). Even though I had a band playing, I still had to pay the dj for extra hours and he gave me one price when I first booked him, then gave me another when it was time to pay. This is the only reason why I'm giving them a 3.5 out of 5 on quality of service.

The venue is nice, but just nice. Nothing more. It's convenient, but only if you want an out-of-the-box cookie-cutter wedding. Add any flare or personality to it, and they get too confused. The vendors work well together. That is the only plus side to it. The Hills are accommodating, but only to a certain extent. I was actually very glad that they weren't present for our wedding, as it felt like they were wardens watching over our every move. Not only that, but they are inept. All they have to do is take your money and hand it out to the appropriate vendors in the correct amounts, but they can't even seem to do that correctly. We had to call and write to have the correct amounts delivered to the correct vendors. They over paid one, while short-changing another. Just awful. At night, the venue looks nice, but the spotlights are just atrocious. You'd think they could afford something a bit more classy...

It was a beautiful place to get married and my special day was the way I wanted it. I did not like the online planning form or all of the staff turnover. I would recommend them but I would advise people to be cautious and good consumers. The family says that when you book you become a Z family member. My family members never asked me to fill out an online planning sheet because they didn't have time to ask me questions like who X vendor is. My family would also not change their package nor would they be unwilling to change out services. The people who made a real difference were Sharon (the flower vendor), Kelly (the caterer for Rincon Market), and Sheila (Bartending 101). Without them, I don't even want to think about how my wedding would have turned out. Wedding planning services are included but probably not in the way you think. You need to ask for every meeting, every service, and every piece of advice. No one will come to you until they need their checklist done. I chose the venue for its beauty and because I thought that I would be getting something that would be more personal.
The bottom line is that you should choose what is best for you. The Z Mansion won't disappoint you in terms of a great day. The planning should be more personable.

I was married on May 22, 2011 at the Z mansion, and could not have been happier. Fom the very first day that I visited Z mansion I knew that this was going to be the place that I was getting married at.Tom, Em and the rest of the staff and vendors made me and my fiance welcomed and part of the family. I know that I will truly remember this as the easiest, happiest and most perfect day of my whole life.

My wife and I had the complete misfortune to attend what we may only describe as the worst wedding we've ever attended here last Saturday (4/9/11). What was intended to be an outdoor wedding was interrupted by a cold and rainy day. We realize that weather cannot be controlled, unfortunately the actions and response to the weather certainly may be. First of the approximately 200 wedding guests attending less than 100 were protected from the rain by a canopy for the ceremony. Next, they split the tables of 10 in 3 separate places. 6 tables were on a second floor veranda another 6 tables were placed on a covered patio area and the remainder were literally crammed into the "carriage house". Admittedly they attempted to make everyone warm by placing small table top butane heaters on most (note not all of them) tables in an effort to keep the guests warm. That failed miserably because of the breezes. Not to mention we had to round up staff to request replacement of the butane bottles when they ran out. The tables placed on the 2nd floor veranda were so far away as to leave the guests feeling they were not a part of the wedding festivities whatsoever. To add insult to injury if it wasn't for the photographer finally coming up to the 2nd floor to tell us the food was being served we never would've been told. The staff were no where to be found. The public address system could not be heard on the 2nd floor veranda leaving us feeling completely isolated from any of the festivities. The food service line and the 2nd floor veranda seating was so far away from each other that after traversing through the wind and rain our food was thoroughly chilled by the time we got re-seated. Now for the bar service, we had to crowd under another tiny awning to wait in line in the rain for the very slow bar service, one would think they would have more than one bartender for this large of a group. Not to mention that their staff failed to even address the pooling 2 inches of water that guests had to wade through to get to the bar. The final insult was in an effort to attempt to get some respite from the cold and the rain the outside guests discovered the staff had locked the doors to the main building. So those unfortunate individuals were subjected to rain, very cold wind, wading in water, cold food and nothing could make it better and certainly the staff made no attempt to mitigate the circumstances. When they had finally called everyone over to the "carriage house" for the bridal toast and cake cutting it was immediately apparent no additional guests were going to get inside since it was already packed with the tables and the 100 guests already in the "carriage house" we could only shake our heads in complete amazement at their complete ineptitude. Again, we recognize the weather is uncontrollable, unfortunately the staff were completely inept at mitigating the circumstances. So our advice ignore the 250 guest metric and if you use this facility plan on no more than 80 - 100 guests who may fit in the "carriage house". But then why would you risk one of the most important days in anyone's life with their staff inability to respond to the weather??

I have nothing bad to say about anyone at Z Mansion. Tom and Em were always amazing, and welcome couples, not only into their home, but into their family. At Z Mansion, the answer is always yes, and its no wonder they are booked every weekend! Its an all in one package that can be changed and altered in innumerable ways to suit any couples needs. Its definitely one of the most cost effective places in town, and it is beautiful. My only complaint is that it can sometimes be difficult to get in touch with the Hills, but its understandable with the number of weddings they do each year, and they always try to respond in a timely manner.

Very beautiful place to get married, vendors great, excellent price! The vendors I dealt with are sooooo nice and great!! The only hard thing at times was getting a hold of Em and Tom to get answers. The night of my wedding went absolutely perfect!! The only weird thing is that you have to keep in mind it is their house so you can hear the kids in their room with a connected bathroom in the bride's room but you know what it really didn't interfere as long as you know that coming into it. There is no tac and service fee which I could not find anywhere else! It was gorgeous and my wedding went perfect, I even had plenty of guests compliment us on how smooth it all went but really the vendors at the Z are the ones who made it go as smooth as it did. Great place and i recommend it 100%!!!! :D

Horrible! Stay away!! Overpriced and not very nice! The owners set up the wrong colors for our wedding tables and were very rude to us the day of the wedding. I trusted the vendors they recommended, but none of them were very good either. All I could hear during the ceremony was the nearby train going by. I didn't even think abut parking for my guests, but it was a nightmare!

I am appalled at whoever CLAIMS to have been married here on November 6, 2010 and have had a horrible experience. Nov 6 was the day I was married there and we had an absolutely fabulous experience, with the site and all of our vendors, as I am to understand the other bride married there that day experienced. If you don't have the cajones to post your real date, or God forbid complain to the vendors themselves, don't steal my date. I developed great relationships with the Hills and my vendors and would hate to see that ruined by someone hiding behind a fake date.
That being said, I want to say that my wedding here was perfect, but I did have to be an active planner (as it should be). You can't just sit back and expect any venue to plan your dream day for you. I saw so many brides there show up two weeks before their date to start planning...of course your wedding sucked, you didn't think about it until the last minute...that's not the Z mansions fault. But for the rest of us, the Z mansion is truly wonderful.

Ok, first the good things.
The price was great even though there are a lot of "add-ons" if you really want to get everything. They should just have an "Absolutely Everything" package. The place was GORGEOUS when lit up at night for our wedding. That's it..... Now the BAD. They tell you alot of things to get you to rent there, and a lot of them have ended up not being true. We were told we would have the place until midnite. of course the DJ only goes until 10pm so if you want him there until midnite... that is extra. We had driven buy many times at night and seen the place empty by 10pm and always wondered why.... NOW WE KNOW. They do everything in there power to get you out of there as early as possible. RUSH RUSH RUSH the whole night So we paid a couple $hundred$ for an extra 2 hours of DJ and did not even need him WASTE OF MONEY we were piut ny 1030. Then they bartenders told us...." We have done a million wedding here, for $100 people this is all the alcohol you will need and we have never run out." "Never run out" because they start shutting everyone off by like 8pm and start feeding you some BS about how they feel "everyone has had enough" They told us "100 beers and 1 bottle each of a few different main liquors plus lke 6 bottles of wine would be enough for 100 people but if by some chance we ran out we could go buy more". AND WE BELEIVED THEM !!!! 100 beers for 100 people????? Me and my 5 Groomsmen were allowed to drink 2 beers each before ceremony. Well there is 12 beers gone, 88 left and we have not even started And when the Bride said she would have someone go pick up some more beer, the female bartender gave THE BRIDE a TON of attitude and backtalk. Well they all got their way and we were out of there by 1030.. NOT MIDNITE What a joke !!!! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMENT THIS PLACE AND THEIR LIES ![]() Wedding: 1+ year ago 1 Reviews

The venue is beautiful, the packages are well priced and the location is perfect. The vendors were fabulous to work with and it was a huge relief to not have to run around town finding the perfect DJ, florist or caterer. They were all right there and have worked together before and knew what they were doing. I arrived and everything was exactly what I asked. Just a few reasons I did not rate the mansion 5 stars:
They book weddings back to back and it is a struggle to plan around everyone else's weddings and you do not feel like you are significant. There was not any room for us to store our supplies at the venue and it was very stressful to wait for the day of the wedding to get all of our items to the mansion. We also had to wait 2 hours before the wedding to bring any of our things in. Which means, in the middle of makeup, dressing, and pictures, we had to somehow work out when to rush all of our stuff in before the ceremony started. We arrived for our rehearsal, and another wedding was still having theirs. We waited an hour and a half before we could start our rehearsal and then we were rushed out by the staff to leave once it was 8:30. We only had an hour to rehearse and eat dinner. On the wedding day, we had reserved the venue until midnight, but felt like we were rushed out as the staff were clearing off tables and our centerpieces at 10:30. My husband thanked the owner after the wedding and was ignored. The owners say that their home is your home on the day of your wedding, but you definitely do not feel that way. Overall, if you are looking for a place that is cheap, pretty much planned out and dont mind being in someones home, this is perfect for you! But if you need more flexibility, and are a detailed oriented person and freaks out about time slots..this may stress you a little.

The Z Mansion turned out to be a nightmare. An open house is held every Wednesday at the property and at that time you are given a chance to meet the owners, the “in house preferred vendors” and tour the property. Everything from the beginning seemed to workout nice as the owners Tom and Em Hill seemed very kind, polite and professional, until we were paid in full. From that point on we could not receive a timely return phone call or email. This is there business and what they do full time, so how hard would it be to return a phone call to make a bride feel comfortable about simple questions and concerns. What they seem to emphasize to every bride, is that they make you feel “part of the family” and our home is yours on the day of your wedding. Never once did that come close to true.
1 month prior to my wedding I wanted to change locations and I would have done so if I could have received a complete refund. My gut feeling and instinct was sending me warning signals left and right about how things where not going to they way they should be. I’m not a picky person but if you are paying thousands of dollars for your wedding it should go somewhat according to your plans not the way someone else dictates it. When booking with this venue you should be aware that the family lives in the home and will be present during your wedding along with their ugly cat, who appears in the background in a ton of our pictures. Weddings are booked back to back at this venue and you allotted a small window of opportunity to have your vendors set up and decorate, after the staff cleans up the wedding prior to yours. It was a hassle to just get myself and bridesmaids situated in their children’s bedrooms, that’s the bridal dressing room / area to freshen up. On the day of my wedding simple requests were never paid any attention. My father was enraged with Tom Hill when he shrugged his shoulders, threw his hands up and walked away, ignoring what my father had to say when attempting to address a few issues. As our wedding concluded, our items that where left in the bedrooms where thrown in the hallway, not set down, but it seems as if they were tossed into the hallway and the doors where locked. Overall, now that I have a better look at the internal workings of this place it is cheap, needs a good cleaning, a new paint job and they just take your money and run. GOOD LUCK!!!

What a horrible experience! They were nice to us up until we were paid in full then it just went downhill after that. The owners were rude to my maid of honors, no flexibility, top of my wedding cake was ruined, closed bar down early, paid extra for DJ to play longer and we didn't even get that! Plus, photos aren't even good. Place is horrible! Very disappointing and waste of my money! Would never recommend to anyone.
