    Great Service and Location

This venue was the perfect setting for my wife and I's wedding day and everyone we talked to was friendly and helpful. This venue included set up of chairs and tables, and allowed you to bring in whatever vendors you wanted. The aesthetic to me was perfect. It has enough warmth and character that we didn't feel the need to go overboard on decor to make it feel like something special was happening. We’ll cherish the memories made here. We would recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding or other event.

Laurelhurst Club is an affordable, lovely spot to have a wedding if you have between 50 and 160 guests. Everything was perfect for our wedding; Rochelle and Erin did everything they could to help with set-up and they were very professional and upbeat throughout the whole process. We had a few last-minute changes in room set-up and they were happy to oblige. They were super helpful and answered all of our frenzied questions in the whirlwind leading up to the big day. This venue doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is very charming, and the lawn where we had our ceremony was so beautiful. Highly recommend this place!

This club is a beautiful and affordable place to have a medium-sized elegant wedding without feeling too grand. It has an old world feel, and is right across from Laurelhurst park which is a great place to take photos. The grounds are beautiful. Some downsides to the place... since it's residential you can't play music too loud (I thought it was fine, it's not deafening but it's still loud enough) and they don't have someone on site at all times so you have to plan viewings and meetings in advance. The six hours you pay for at the club include your vendors setting up and taking down so you will likely need to pay for extra hours unless your reception is 3 hours long. With that said, it was still more affordable than other places I saw of the same quality. You also have to purchase liability insurance which can be up to 200 dollars, so factor that into your total budget. There's only street parking, and that gets taken up quickly because of the park so beware of that. Erin, the manager, is great to work with and very efficient at getting things done.

We chose the Laurelhurst Club after looking at lots of beautiful venues in the Portland area that ended up being out of our price range because they required us to work with a list of preferred vendors/caterers we couldn't afford (and didn't even want!). When we found the Laurelhurst Club, I was so excited about their flexibility in terms of bringing in your own vendors and setting your own rental time (you pay hourly, including for set-up/clean-up time-- we did about 8 hours). I was so thrilled to find that I also LOVED the space! The hardwood and natural light make the main reception/dancing area just beautiful, its proximity to the park is unparalleled and amazing for photos, and we loved the vintage vibe of the upper mezzanine/bar area (which you can rent for just another $100). Amanda was our main contact throughout the process and was very responsive to questions and willing to accommodate multiple visits to the venue as our wedding got closer. She was very helpful, too, in recommending other services-- including our awesome caterer (As Good As It Gets). This place worked particularly well for us because we were having a mid-day, brunch reception, which means we weren't planning to throw a rager. Due to the fact that the club is in a residential area, there is a decibel limit that the DJ needs to adhere to (although our music was just fine in terms of volume, so it can't be too restrictive), all events need to finish by 9 or 10 PM (I can't remember which, but it was a non-issue for us since ours was earlier in the day-- could be a deal-breaker for others, though), and there's no hard alcohol allowed (although, Amanda appealed to the Board on our behalf and we were granted permission to provide hard liquor in the form of Bloody Marys for one hour, which was perfect for our brunch cocktail hour). It may not be perfect for everyone, but the location across from the park, the building's character, and the price/flexibility were right for us!

Buyer Beware!!!! This venue is in a despute with the neighbors. During my cousins ceremony they set their car alarm off every 5 minutes. They banged pots and pans in their back yard. They came over and began antagonizing the groom and family wanting them to throw a punch so they could have a case against the venue. Laurelhurst Club didn't notify us that this neighborhood fued. We had to call the cops to assist us with the annoying car alarm. Very disappointed in the venue not communicating with us.
