Ohmahgawd...what can I say about The Barn? After getting engaged and seeing the barn, I KNEW I needed to get married there! We ended up lucking out and booking the last Saturday they had available. The wedding. was. fabulous. Seriously, it was honestly above and beyond everything I thought it could be. People are still RAVING about it, and the day went off without a hitch--seriously. Lorin and Kimberly and their staff know EXACTLY what they're doing, and they have it down to an art form.

The barn is insanely gorgeous, the land is beautiful, the drive in is so scenic and Wisconsin-y, it's just perfect. Their new bridal suite is beyond perfect--it's SO worth it to stay on-site, and it's so enjoyable because it's so nice/new/fancy! Lorin and Kimberly will seriously work with you to make whatever ridiculous bridal vision you have work--they're seriously miracle workers!

I did vote lower on responsiveness, as it does tend to take awhile to hear back from Kimberly via email, HOWEVER, it's TOTALLY WORTH IT. DO NOT let this scare you off at all. It makes it a little tough if your a total anal control freak like myself, but seriously, they know what they're doing and it SHOWS the day of--they're fabulous. I'd recommend this place over and over and over again.

Thank you!!! :D

The team at the Barn were amazing and so helpful in executing our vision for our special day. The entire day went off without a hitch which was just wonderful because we didn't have to worry about a single thing and I tend to be a micro-manager/perfectionist and really wanted to be able to relax on the day. Everything was magical, they added 2 extra horses to the 2 they already had wandering around which really made my heart sing, I love horses. We also had a campfire and were so glad we did- the most amazing food was the Cornish game hen... Soooo tender and full of flavor, I would highly recommend it. The barn also recently installed some great washrooms, very cute and in theme with the venue. Overall everything was absolutely perfect and we were glowing with happiness on the day and are still smiling remembering all the little details they took care of.

One of the best things about the barn was the fact that they took care of the flow of the evening- they organize the tables and rearranging everything so all you have to worry about is telling them where you want everything and then leave it up to them! It was such an intimate wedding and all our family and friends were raving about it and how beautiful everything was- we caught it at the peak of fall colors and on a perfect sunny day. I would highly recommend a fall wedding as the barn really retains heat and we had no issues at all with it being chilly out. When we visited the barn in the summer to see it, it was an oven! The last thing I will give them props for is their recommending vendors to use. Because I was planning from a across the country I needed all the help I could get and when I had several vendors fail to be professional, the barn team were right there to recommend some better ones and they ended up being amazing too!

When we first started looking for a venue for our wedding we knew we wanted something unique- we definitely found that with The Enchanted Barn!! This venue is gorgeous and is the perfect place to have a wedding!! You don't have to do very much for decorating because it is already beautiful, just a few things here and there. And, it is the perfect place for photos because it is in a beautiful location. I would not have wanted to have my wedding anywhere else!

The venue is beautiful: elegant, yet rustic. The staff was fabulous and accommodating to our requests and changes. The timing of the switch from ceremony to appetizers to dinner to dance was incredible: amazingly fast. I felt the value for cost was excellent and the organization exemplary.
We used the recommended caterer, and the food was fine. The appetizer, bruschetta, was superb, and the cheese and crackers were deli pick up, with the meal being ok. When using a caterer, I guess I expected a bit more than frozen peas and carrots for the "summer blend". Having said that, we were blessed to have found The Enchanted Barn.

Based on my wedding last month, here is the following review I have:

PROS:
Beautiful location
Barn is charming

CONS:
Communication and organization skills of the owner is non existent
WAY overpriced for what little he provides
No preparation given, I literally had no idea what to expect at my wedding, despite taking two trips out there to get an “idea” of how to plan for it.
Outhouses were disgusting the day of
The catering was less then desirable; I had several guests tell me their chicken was undercooked and saw it myself with my own.
The seating arrangement that they “supplied” completely fell apart and was so embarrassing. My advice is DO PLACECARDS despite what he says.
The vendors that were recommended to us from the barn either fell through last minute or didn’t do a very professional job. This led to countless hours of me researching the nearest town for available vendors and hoping they did a good job.
The ceremony stage looks like back stage at a high school theatre in all my pictures (i.e, ropes, wires, miscellaneous items…not very romantic)
I had to change into my reception dress in the garage because the room I was supposed to use was being used by caterers. A garage full of windows…
The absolute worst part: The barn owner, Lorin, gave a tour of about 20 people around the barn at our rehearsal the day before and on the day of my wedding. Yeah, 20 strangers in my way as I am rushing around trying to set up and dealing with my own wedding chaos. I was fighting back tears the whole time.

The bottom line is this: if you are reading reviews on The Enchanted Barn because you are having some doubts, please listen to your instincts and save yourself the stress. Unless you have a wedding coordinator who can deal with all the drama and worry for you, seriously look elsewhere. I had not one review available to me when I signed on and I wish someone had told me what I was really in for. I did everything myself and it ended up being so disappointing. It just was so thrown together it didn’t seem like a well organized business. To top it off, his motto of “Just show up and get married” couldn’t have been farther from the truth which was why we had signed on in the first place. Take it from me, find somewhere that is more accommodating and professional.

The Enchanted Barn is such a unique venue to have a wedding! My husband and I loved it, family loved it, guests loved it! The barn itself was built in the 1880's and has retained all the unique characteristics, details, and beauty from when it was first built. My husband and I appreciate the simplicity and elegance the Barn displays and it just took my breath away on the day of our wedding! Everything was set up so beautifully and the workers really kept things running smooth! I am so thankful that we went with The Enchanted Barn as the place that we got married! Wow, it was so fun!!!

The Barn was beautiful!!!!! It was the most amazing day of our lives and the Enchanted Barn made that happen. The whole atmosphere was enchanting! There were a few things that did not get done, which were a little frustrating but all together it was a great experience. One suggestion I would make is to get a wedding coordinator and to respond to the couples in a more timely fashion.

My fiance is from a small town in Wisconsin, and the typical places that people would choose for their wedding event were pricey and not that special. If you have been reading my reviews, I think it's pretty obvious that I wanted something special and different! Something beautiful!
The Enchanted Barn was suggested to us at a church dinner (!) when we mentioned that we wanted a place to celebrate that was out of the ordinary. She said, "Why not an Enchanted Barn?"
I giggled, thinking that she was joking. But as it turns out, the place does exist! The owner had the insight of taking a rustic barn, cleaned it out, and then added details that brought out it's simple beauty. On the website you can see the tiny little candle holders, but it's not until evening starts approaching that their romantic glow can truly be experienced!
Because of the time of year (July) there were beautiful flowers out around the barn in a gorgeous garden, but if you plan it carefully (like August) there are some amazing vibrant colors!

There is also facilities for your caterers to set up, and a DJ. We were a group of about 80, but you could easily fit twice as many. The only drawback is that there is no hotels right by the barn, and we were worried about people driving drunk (with good reason). We settled it by having the shuttle bus service! Safety for all!

For people who are in Minneapolis and are nature-oriented, I would highly suggest this place. It is very, very affordable, they can provide you with contacts for caterers if you don't already have them, and we felt that this was "our place" on the day of. We felt at home, and it was a great and beautiful place to have our family and friends.
