Please listen carefully to the reviews before you put yourself through any horrible experience. After being sold a dress by the owner Nelly (who runs everything like a one woman show) I had to pick up my dress last week to find awful alterations (Middle of Sweetheart was off by at least 2 inches, there were black marks on my dress and I had never take in out of the store, jagged edges cut and boning removed). She tried to blame me saying I lost weight, tried to blame the boning and begged me to try and let her fix it. I left my dress overnight and sent photos to seamstresses all over (about 5) all highly recommended online or by friends, they were the ones that noticed the major problems of dimmensions. I finally found Annette who rents a space in Jon's Bridal in Tampa. She saw me that weekend fitting me in between appointments and opened the dress and went through every little detail with me taking pictures along the way and explaining the awful things that had been done (including the very uneve sweetheart top that led to a straight edge on the one side basically). One of her seamstress' who barely spoke English was shocked the more they went into the dress- they were not trying to sell me and even said "she should have bough this dress with all the damage" and had me look at other dresses in Jon's Bridal in case I just wanted to move on. I love my dress and they are working on fixing it but it was so nice to see the great customer service they provided. Not pushy and just there to help. HONESTY is very important. Here's my final piece of advice- find your dress elsewhere ... it's not worth the stress leading up to your wedding. I'm a very easy going bride and simply wanted my dress to fit correctly. Between lumps in the fabric and unever dimmensions it looked awful! I was lucky that someone would fix it. Nelly yelled at me that it would take at least $400 dollars to fix it and taht all the goodle reviews were just awful people and waived her bible at me. I am a God loving person who found a great person over in Tampa who will fix these awful problems for $200. I typically judge for myself but the people on goog reviews are right, sad to say. I am not writing this awful review to be mean, but will say it is very mean what she does to brides that simply want to look pretty on their special day when marrying the loves of their life. If you do find a dress you want and its only at Aventura- get it and get out of there. I highly reccommend Annette at Jon's Bridal in Tampa.

I have read all of the reviews and I must say, that Nelly is a professional and a great seamstress. She has giving the attention that I need for my special day, and when I went into Avebtura Bridal I was depressed for a reason that happened with my first gown purchased in another bridal boutique, and Nelly said that she would help me and so she did, so to all of you out there, please take my experience and try because when I saw myself at my first fitting I was overwhemed with how I looked. I will post more after my wedding.

DON'T DO IT!!! Went here because the bride thought it would be better on the budget. Dress prices beat competitors, or at least we thought. I can go into any store and buy a 0/2 off the rack and need no alterations. When I was measured, I asked what size it would translate to, Nelly would not say and it depended on the designer. Ok fair enough. About a month before the wedding I didn't get a call that my dress was in but a few of the other bridesmaids did. When I called they told me they didn't have it and they would take a size 8 and fit it to my size. I was iffy but ok. Turns out, they found mine but neglected to order one of the other bridesmaids. She tells me over the phone that the size 4 is ready for me. I was skeptical and asked her to make sure that was my size per the measurements she took, she confirmed that it was. When I went to pick up the dress and try it on, it fell below my waist. They proceeded to tell me that if I wore a bra the dress would fit,( note: I could literally wear 7 bras and it still wouldn't have fit). THEY MAKE MONEY ON ALTERATIONS! 2 out of 5 girls were ordered the wrong size and 1 wasn't ordered a dress at all! BRIDES BE WARE, dealing with their lack of organization, attitude, and lack of competence and truth is not worth the couple of bucks you think you'll save!!!! Major major headache. BTW I just got my dress from them on 10/9/11 and now have to take it somewhere else and won't get my dress fixed until 10/19/11 and the wedding is 10/22/11. Thanks!

I had a great experience with Nelly. I was a little worried after reading some reviews and I must admit the atmosphere is lower key then some other salons I have been at. I had already purchased a dress that I was pressured into buying by my mom so this was an attempt to find a second dress 1.5 months before the wedding. Of course I had to find something affordable as I had already bought one dress. I tried on several dresses and brought the options down to two dresses that I loved, one was more expensive then the other. With Nelly's advice I actually got the less expensive dress. She could have sold me the other one but she cared what would work best for me. It was also a much larger dress so she had to do some extensive alterations for me as well. The finished product was my dream dress and fit like a glove. She even helped me more by reducing some of the alterations costs. She truly was trying to help me find and get "the dress". I can't thank her enough for guiding me and helping me.
It does seem that she is really a one woman show being owner/consultant/seamstress at Adventura Bridal so I would recommend making an appointment for fittings and alterations. That way you can give her a chance to help you too find your dream dress:)

I brought my wedding dress from Nelly . The dress was beautiful. I needed alterations done on the dress. After THREE alterations attempts Nelly could not sew a straight hem on the dress. The second alterations part was the lace hemline. Nelly charge me $80.00 to hem the front part of my dress. She cut up beautiful lace and did the worst alteration job I have ever seen. She refused to refund my money. she was rude to my bridesmaid. I had to pay another seamtress to fix all her botch up mistakes on my wedding gown. I told her I was very disappointed .
Do not let her alter your dress. This is too much stress prior to a wedding

I tried on so many dresses at so many different stores and finally found my dress at Aventura. I purchased an Allure dress from Nelly and it is absolutely beautiful. The quality of the alterations, fabulous. Nelly helped me so much and made a beautiful dress, my dress. I highly recommend Avetura if you want a high fashion, quality, unique wedding dress!

I purchased an evening gown from Aventura Bridal about a month ago for a black-tie event. I was very satisfied with the service provided. My dress required alterations and everything turned out perfect. I was especially appreciative of the salesperson, Nelly, who was very honest and wasn't trying to "push" a sale. Although some comments I've read seem to perceive her as "rude", I appreciate her honesty and rather be told the truth of how I look in a dress. I was given several dresses to try on until we found the perfect fit for me...that is a true salesperson!!! Aventura Bridal has great prices! My dress was ordered and I was only asked to place a deposit so the order can be placed (totally understandable) and I did not need to pay the balace remaining until the dress arrived in the store...Thank you, Aventura Bridal! I have a wedding next month and will be back for another dress!

First, I want to say, I didn't give this place a poor rating to be a jerk. I had an AWFUL experience at this place. I walked in & no one asked if they could help me. I found a picture of the dress I wanted in a magazine & went to the counter for help. The lady behind the counter must have been front desk babysitting b/c she directed me to someone who could help me while she just sat there & smiled & did nothing. The lady she directed me to was busy & didn't seem eager to help me at all. Annoyed, she asked how she could help me. I handed her the magazine & asked "Do you have this dress?". She replied "No", so I asked if she had anything similar & again, she said no. She then told me I should look up online who carries the dress & they'd have it. Well DUH! I already did that which is why I went there in the first place! She obviously did not want my business & I won't be going back there or referring anyone to the shop.

This place is in the Sanford Mall! I am getting married but we dont have a set year because we are saving and paying for the wedding ourselves! Went in to look around and maybe try one on to see a style that looks best on me. She asked me when is my wedding and is said "maybe next year" :) and in a rude tone she said " THEN YOU DONT GET TO TRY ON DRESSE! ONLY THIS YEAR NOT NEXT!" Shocked I walked out! There is no tile on the floor! They have a patch of pink DIRTY carpet and the dresses have dirty foot prints on them. For the 30mins that I was browsing the selection felt like I was in a thirft store! BIG THUMBS DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!

We rented our tuxes from this shop and I was very impressed with the lady handeling the tux rentals. I think her name is Kim. Very professional, very nice and very attentive

I went with Nelly because I found the perfect dress at an amazing price. She typically wouldn't sell a dress for that cheap though-- the only reason was because she had already received a deposit on it, but the bride ended up sort of disappearing. So she was left with this dress in a rather small size, and she wanted to get rid of it. She rarely picks up the phone at her place of business and isn't the most pleasant person to deal with. She sometimes came across as a bit rude. Again, I mainly bought my dress from her because it was such a bargain. She's got a great collection of dresses, shoes, and veils.

Got my Dress and vail from the store, nelly was great! She ordered my dress in no time and made sure it was prefect. She even offered to sell it for me..would deft recommend her!
