DJ Steve exceeded the high expectations that my family had for our wedding. We had a party including mixed age ranges, cultures, nationalities, and music tastes, but he made it all happen so seamlessly. Even during the planning process- his many years of experience with weddings made us feel like we were in good hands and put us at ease. We can't thank him enough for making our big day such a fun party. Our wedding was on a Sunday but everyone was out of their seats and on that dance floor until the end! -

If you're getting married at Five Crowns (or honestly, anywhere in SoCal), you should absolutely book Steve Burdick. He was hands down one of the best vendors we worked with for our wedding, and we are still hearing from guests about how amazing the DJ was.
Steve was a preferred vendor for Five Crowns, and now we totally get why. From the very first phone call, he was incredibly detailed, thoughtful, and professional. He listened to everything we wanted and then gave us fantastic suggestions based on his experience. His planning tools made it so easy to organize the music and timeline, and he made sure all of our must-play songs were included.
One thing that stood out right away was how much Steve genuinely cares. He even reached out to our friend who was officiating our wedding (his first one ever!) and gave him tips on how to run the ceremony. Our friend ended up doing such a great job that people thought he was a professional officiant. He definitely didn’t have to do that, but it made such a difference and meant a lot to us.
On the day of the wedding, he showed up and had everything set up perfectly. He’s clearly a pro at Five Crowns and knows exactly what to do. Throughout the night, he kept the energy high and the dance floor full—without ever being over the top or cheesy. He was upbeat, fun, and just knew how to read the room. There were even a couple of moments where the crowd wasn’t vibing with a song, and he adjusted right away to keep things going. Everyone, even the shy guests, ended up dancing.
We also had a unique challenge where we wanted to run to every table to get a photo with each group. Steve was awesome at helping us coordinate it and keeping the momentum up. He also worked closely with our photographer throughout the night to make sure all the activities we planned went smoothly.
Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better DJ and emcee. Steve made the planning process feel easy, handled all the details we never would’ve thought of, and totally delivered on everything he promised. If we ever need a DJ again, he’ll be our first call without a doubt. -

Steve was great, very energetic to help us get everything done. Music was the hardest part for us to decide on, but steve was flexible and responsive helping us make decisions and make sure everything went well. MC part was great, on point kept things moving at a great pace and things were done as we requested. thanks for an epic night Steve.

Steve Burdick was such a joy to work with! My now husband and I hired him for DJ/MC, photobooth, and uplighting. Steve was very professional and organized. He made sure to prepare my officiant with the mic for our ceremony & provided good music throughout the whole wedding day. Communicating and planning with him was so smooth, as he was always very quick to respond back to my emails & provided good advice on song selections. My whole wedding day from start to finish went so smoothly without any hiccups thanks to Steve’s hard work and professionalism. He provided a wonderful sound track for my wedding and was such a fun MC . The sound quality was clear & Steve did a good job moving from one song to the next. We also hired his company for uplighting and photobooth. The uplighting was so beautiful and definitely elevated the place and the photobooth was such a hit! My guests had so much fun! I highly recommend Steve Burdick Events if you’re looking for a DJ/MC, photobooth and uplighting! -

From our very first phone conversation, Steve was professional, approachable, and genuine. He was supportive throughout our wedding planning. He checked in periodically to see how we were doing, and he was always available if we had questions. He has a website that we were able to visit, at our convenience, and upload song preferences and choices, which simplified things. Weeks before the wedding we had a sit-down meeting with him and discussed the wedding: our goals, preferences, song selections. He gave advice and valuable feedback when we asked. We also took advantage of the other services that he offers: the photo booth and up-lighting. The uplighting significantly enhanced the ambience of the venue, giving it a magical quality. All my guests took advantage of the photo booth and had fun with it. It really broke the ice and brought out everyone's silly side. Soon after the wedding, we were sent a dropbox link that had all of the Photo Booth photos in it, which we were able to download. The best testament to Steve’s abilities, though, is how much fun everyone had at the wedding. Everyone was on the dance floor at some point, and a significant amount of the guests were on the dance floor all night long. I couldn’t recommend Steve enough; he is amazing. -

Best dj ever!
We got married in March of 2021 in San Juan Capistrano, CA and this review is LONG overdue, sorry! I still get compliments about our wedding day and reception (only had 32 people due to Covid concerns) but somehow Steve was able to get every single person out on the dance floor partying! We had the time of our lives at our wedding reception. Steve was amazing at guiding the audience and reading the room when we needed bump up the energy or switch gears to a classic song. He was energetic and a joy to work with. Thanks for making our wedding day so special Steve! We will cherish these memories for years to come. Steve made my wedding reception a dream come true! During the planning he was attentive, knowledgeable, and asked all of the right questions. He and his crew were so professional, friendly and fun! I was pretty picky about my playlist and the tone I wanted to set and Steve nailed it! Banger after banger!! All night long my guests were telling me how great the DJ was. The dance floor was never empty, we danced and had a blast all night long. He also provided uplighting which was beautiful, and a photo booth with an attendant and props which was so much fun! All in all best decision we ever made, he made things easy and it was perfect! -

Steve was referred to us by a friend and we are so glad we hired him to be our DJ. Of all the vendors we dealt with when organizing our wedding, he was my favorite. By the time we found Steve, I was a very tired and stressed bride. Planning a wedding is hard work & I was fatigued from all the decision making. Steve’s vast experience and professionalism put me so much at ease. He spent a lot of time making sure he understood our vision for how we wanted the reception to go. When we got stuck on which song to have for special dances he gave us a lot of great suggestions. He made sure when we chose our 1st dance, we picked a song that we could actually dance to! So many of the decisions he guided us through were things we had never thought of. I am so glad we chose Steve to basically run the show at the reception. Our dance floor was full the entire evening. He was so good at reading the room and keeping everyone happy. He even did a trivia game about us which out guests LOVED. Even serious and quiet guests got in on the action & were so excited with their wins and prizes. I REALLY did not want anything cheesy and Steve did not disappoint
. He is a class act. He looks & acts professional, he coordinated with our live entertainment and the venue to make our evening perfect, and it was. Several guests took his contact details for their own upcoming events. Thank you Steve, it was a wonderful evening & you were a big part of that. -

Steve was fantastic! He was referred to us by our photographer and all the reviews online said he was great. He definitely outshined our expectations.
We got married on August 1st, 2020 amidst the COVID19 Pandemic. Because of this, we ran into various obstacles and changes along the way, but Steve was very flexible, organized, and skilled so things went extremely smoothly. With him, we didn’t need a wedding planner because he basically was our planner. He was responsive to texts and emails and would always check in with us frequently to help us stay on track.
We couldn’t get married inside the church building so he helped us with the ceremony and played exactly what we wanted and timed the music perfectly as planned. There were no mic feedback issues.
For the reception, he had great ideas and he also had a collection of music that is on his website planner that helped a lot with music requests and with selecting songs for the special dances.
He played most if not all the songs we requested. And of the songs he played that we didn’t request, they were all excellent selections. We heard nothing but positive comments from our guests about the music all night, thanks to Steve. We had a very small outdoor wedding of about 50 people and he was still able to get most people to dance on the dance floor because he reads the crowd so well. He is a professional and there were no technical errors or skips or pauses all reception long. The music transitioned flawlessly. He's also a great MC and he's got a great mic voice.
Ultimately, He was respectful, an absolute pleasure to work with, and worth every penny. We had him from 230 - 830pm and he was there at noon setting up, very diligent, reliable. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again for another party or recommend him to anyone who needs a DJ! -

We just got back from our honeymoon, but we can’t stop thinking about how wonderful our wedding turned out. We loved all the music Steve played and he kept the night so lively and fun. So many of our guests came up to us that night to compliment the amazing music. We were both surprised how many people were on the dance floor too, thanks to Steve!
It was the best night of our lives and we are so thankful for Steve in helping create such a wonderful night for us and our party!
We definitely recommend Steve for anyone who wants a DJ who really cares about you and your event, every step of the way!

Steve is the real deal, what he says he will do he does!
Steve helped us select a good selection of music and knew how he could make that music work. He was positive and upbeat throughout the planning. Then the event itself he was terrific, made everything flow beautifully and had great advise along the way, which helped a lot! When it came to the reception, he kept everything moving perfectly, the lighting was beautiful and the we danced until the night nigh was over. There was never a point when there wasn't someone dancing. It was a great wedding and a great reception, in a large part to Steve. -

Steve Burdick is a true professional that lives up to his commitments, listens well, pays attention to the smallest of details and is a great DJ. Our wedding day and evening would not have been the terrific event it was without Steve coordinating the tone of the event with his music. Then for the reception, there was never a moment when people weren't up and dancing. everyone had a great time and Steve was a driving source behind the success. His demeanor, music and lighting are all 1st class and we are so pleased that we hired him.

From beginning to the end, Steve was the best!!!! The first question that Steve asked my husband and I was "What do you think a DJ is or what do you think their job is?" I said, their job is to take the audience through a journey, and when he agreed, I knew that he was the DJ from us. We had a variety of music being played (very diverse) and he was able to mix them so seamlessly. Everyone was dancing throughout the entire night!!!!! Even when we through some unforseen curveballs his way, he handled them so seamlessly and found the solution immediately. He is friendly, flexible, professional, and a down to earth guy who does everything with a passion and will exceed your expectations to make your event a memorable one. ALL OF OUR GUESTS LOVE HIM!!! Thank you Steve, from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding the best!! -

He's responsive, professional, and shows a true passion for what he does. That's important to us. Working with Steve using an online planner on his website made it easy for us to customize some of the music we want and when to play it (guest arrival, cocktail hour, reception). During our wedding my husband and I loved the songs he picked. In fact, we were not the only ones, we had complements from our guests! He did an amazing job in feeling out our guest and playing music accordingly. We're very pleased by Steve's work and highly recommend him. -

Marianne Sent on 03/28/2012When we first met Steve Burdick, it was at our friend's wedding 2 years ago. I made a mental note of Steve because it was the first wedding (90% asians) that I've been to where almost everyone was on the dance floor. I don't know how Steve did it but it was amazing to see young and old on the dancefloor. Steve did the Venice Dance which I loved and I specifically requested for that for our wedding. The best thing about Steve was that he's a Dj and MC.
We met up with Steve 2 times before the wedding. The first time was to get to know each other and the second time was to go over the timeline and music choices, etc. Steve was responsive in all emails and he made numerous suggestions on how to seat the guests and how to strategize to get our guests on the dance floor. Every dance we had, guests came out on the dance floor and filled it up.
Steve was real flexible to work with. He had an online timeline and gosh, that made everything so easy for me, as I'm in front of a computer all day. If a song pops up I was able to log on and add that song. For the cocktail hour I had no idea what type of music I wanted to play but Steve made some suggestions and I trusted his professionalism and taste so I agreed to whatever he had in mind.
I know most people don't really care about the sound system.. but I have to compliment on how clear Steve's wireless mics were. From our video our speeches and vows were so clear and loud. All of the guests had no problem hearing. They said they heard us loud and clear. In our video footage all the audio clips were super clear.

During the planning process, Steve couldn't be any nicer or more responsive with our questions and requests. He is very organized and pays great attention to detail. At the end of the night, Steve got a round of applause from us and all of our the guests. He really kept the reception going and we got many, many compliments from friends and family about his ability to keep the vibe alive. He was able to keep the dance floor packed for about 4 hours! We had a spectacular time and will cherish those memories for life!
