April with J.Starr helped to make my wedding dream come to life. She was incredibly organized, positive, and helpful, and made it SO easy to make decisions. She guided me through every step of the process and helped connect me with the most perfect vendors. The wedding was SO smooth and went perfectly. I can't imagine planning a wedding without April - she is incredible and J.Starr planners truly care about their couples. -

I can't emphasize enough how fantastic our experience was working with JStarr! Being from out of town, we had no idea where to get started with the planning process, choosing vendors, etc. After reaching out to several planners in the area, our conversation with Jennifer assured us that JStarr was the perfect fit for us! Their wealth of experience impressed us, but what truly won us over was their authenticity, warmth, and and attention to detail. We had the honor of working with Lead Planner Alicia, and she was absolutely phenomenal! She was incredibly attentive, accommodating my hectic work schedule, and made the planning process effortless. Unfortunately, just a month before the wedding, I had to make the difficult decision to call off my engagement. During this incredibly hard time, Alicia and Jennifer were unwavering in their support and kindness to my family and I. They helped seamlessly transform the day into a memorable dinner party, accommodating our changed circumstances with grace and understanding. Thanks to the incredible JStarr team, what could have been a challenging and upsetting day turned into a cherished memory for my family and me. My husband and I got married in April 2024 and were paired with Alicia. I cannot even begin to explain how wonderful of an experience we had with Alicia and the JStarr wedding team! Our experience was nothing short but wonderful. Alicia, you truly made our vision come to life and it was even better than we ever imagined. I'll never forget that night and even the little things you did to help make our day a little less crazy, from helping bustle my dress, to changing me out of my heels and into my sneakers, and making sure everything is taken care of and accounted for afterwards.

We had the great fortune to be paired up with Heather and the J. Starr team for our wedding planning experience. Heather was a truly essential resource for all the details we encountered as we hired vendors and planned out the wedding day. As the mother of the bride, I was fully engaged in this process, and I was impressed by Heather's organizational skills, vendor knowledge, ability to keep us on track, her overall accessibility, kindness, and professionalism. On wedding day, every little detail was carried out with precision. All our requests were honored and expertly executed. We had the potential for rain which would have meant a change in plans to move inside, but Heather closely monitored the weather situation and ultimately decided we should continue with an outside ceremony which was absolutely the best decision as the sun came out just as the bridal party began to walk down the "aisle". On a personal note, Heather was supportive, kind, dependable, and fun to be with. We most highly recommend the J. Starr team and thank them for helping to make our daughter's wedding day the most special and perfect day in our all lives! Thank you! -

I just got married two weeks ago and we had the UTMOST pleasure of working with Heather from JStarr Wedding Company. We are so lucky to have found this company! We had contracted Heather for the day of coordination. However, she initially started helping us months in advance by providing a wedding planning document that was key in our planning process. Then, specifically, six weeks in advance is when we got down to the real business. This planning document was vital in helping us get everything organized. The preferred vendor list that was provided was a HUGE asset as well, as we did hire all of our vendors off of this list. Heather was truly amazing. She is so organized, professional, helpful, and just such a warm person to be around. Her assistance with our day of timeline, all of the vendor coordinating and correspondence, assistance with the details - everything she did was so helpful! We really could not have done it without her!! The wedding day went off perfectly, and everything was in sync and all of the vendors were aligned working with each other flawlessly. It was truly amazing to see how well her and her assistant, Cami, coordinated everything so smoothly. Heather advocated for us to keep our ceremony outside as per our wishes, despite the fact that there was a chance of rain. She fought to keep our ceremony outside and luckily there was no rain!! The sun started shining as the bridal party walked down the aisle! I am forever thankful for her for that.
We are so thankful to have found Heather and JStarr Wedding Company. It took so much pressure off of myself and my mother. Jennifer, the owner of the company is an absolute joy to work with as well. Thank you so much, Heather!!! -

We cannot recommend HEATHER and the entire J. Starr team enough! I truly do not know how we would have pulled off our wedding without Heather. It certainly would have been a lot less fun and a lot more stress. Heather had a way of putting us at such ease the moment we first talked to her. We felt like she really listened to and understood our priorities for our wedding and she did everything possible to ensure we had the day we dreamed of. We live out of state so were planning our wedding from afar, and Heather was so patient on countless long Zoom calls going over every detail and addressing or calming every worry that I had. It really felt like we were talking to a friend who also just happened to be the most organized, intuitive, proactive, creative, honest, genuine, thoughtful, FUN wedding planner ever. Leading up to, the day of, and after our wedding, so many of our friends and family commented on how awesome Heather was and how seamlessly everything ran because of her. She was so personable with everyone, anticipating our needs and taking care of any potential issues before we were ever aware.
It is so clear how much Heather and Jennifer and the entire team at J. Starr love what they do. The resources they provided to us during planning were so valuable - the preferred vendor list, timeline, checklist, etc. kept us on track and put us in touch with vendors who provided the same level of quality service that J. Starr did. What is also clear is how respected J. Starr is by other vendors in the area, everyone we hired expressed to us what positive experiences they have had with the J. Starr team and how excited they were to work with J. Starr again.
It is not an overstatement to say that choosing J.Starr and Heather was 100% the best decision we made when it came to planning our wedding. During the planning process and even to this day, two months after our wedding, when we look back on the day, my husband and I express to one another how grateful we are to have had Heather as part of our wedding planning experience. Our celebration was exactly what we had envisioned - so fun, stress-free and beautiful and we have Heather to thank for it. Thank you Heather & J.Starr!!! -

My husband and I are from Chicago so thinking about planning a wedding in Phoenix was extra stressful. With that said, thank god for J.Starr, we couldn't have done this without you!
From the very first introduction calls with Jennifer and Megan, I felt so at-ease and like I was talking with close girlfriends that I've known all along. They kept emphasizing how they were going to work to bring all my dreams to life and they weren't kidding! (I interviewed a few other companies that laughed when I shared ideas and budgets- not a great feeling nor professional.) Not once were they pushy or made me feel like high maintenance with all of my questions, requests, or changes. Whenever I'd ask a question for an opinion, Megan would tell me her honest thoughts but always finished her sentence with, but we will do whatever YOU want to do.
The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect and went off without a hitch. If something did go wrong, I still have no idea months later! We are still receiving compliments about how beautiful and perfect everything was and how no details were spared. Throughout the entire day, Megan was checking in with my husband and I to see if we needed drinks, apps, anything. She also made sure to check in with the bridal party, our family, friends, everyone! It was so appreciated and we all felt so cared for. Megan was so attentive and all those little things meant so much to us.
There's NO way we could've done this without her and are so grateful for her and the J.Starr team! -

Jstarr was incremental in helping us plan our destination wedding in Scottsdale in Sept 2023. We started the process late and began looking at venues in April 2023. Once we found a location, we were pleased with I reached out to Jennifer and the planning began that day. Heather was assigned as our lead planner. She was always available, extremely helpful and knowledgeable and was so calming in a hectic process. She was very responsive and made time for quick questions or to go over details as needed. JStarr’s list of preferred vendors is amazing. They have a good selection and the relationships they have are awesome. This made for a very easy wedding day. Heather took my vision and made it come to light and was always cognizant of our budget. I can’t say enough great things about Jstarr and the team. They made our day AMAZING! I would highly recommend to anyone no matter how small or large the wedding. They made our day a happily ever after! -

J. Starr was better than we could have ever imagined!
Let me start by saying planning a wedding is no joke! When we got engaged and started talking about having our wedding the following year, I knew I needed help. I had introductory phone calls with 3 different wedding planners (and emailed a few more for pricing sheets) and J. Starr was a clear winner! It can be so intimidating starting the process when you haven’t planned a wedding before and when you haven’t been to a lot either, but talking with both Jennifer and then April for the first time was like sunshine and rainbows! I knew they were going to be great from the start!
It is hard to put into words how much April did for us over the entire year we worked with her, but she is the sole reason we had such a beautiful wedding! And one we continue to get compliments on a month later! I have friends getting married and starting to plan who ask me what we did in certain parts of ours, or how we found certain vendors, because they one someone the same. And it was all April!! With every one of my questions answered and every detail executed, it was like she was planning our wedding but with the precision of if it were her own. She understood our vision and made sure we had vendors that did the same and went the extra mile to make it happen.
Sidenote, we live out of the country 10 months out of the year for work, so with an exception of one week that I came back for food tasting, cake tasting, hair and makeup trial, and floral mock up (all which April helped me plan during that week) everything for us was done remotely! April scheduled/organized/grouped vendor calls all within a timeframe that worked for us overseas and around our lives here. She really made everything so so easy for us.
I could probably write a novel titled “How Amazing April Is” but these are a few standout items she made possible for our wedding:
We draped all the walls and ceilings in our venue. Not easy, not cheap. April went through at least 4 (that I know of) vendors before finding someone who could do it within our budget and to our liking!! This was a huge part of our vision! While we were open to discussing other options because of the budget, she was determined to get us what we wanted. Even with a last minute meeting the month of our wedding, we added a little more and the vendors gave us a discount which I don’t think would have happened if they weren't constantly in contact with a planner that was so nice!
The DJ. Another huge party of our vision, because we wanted our reception to be an absolute party! (Which it was!) We looked through at least 6 or 7 different DJ’s before she found someone who was so perfect for us! …** Our DJ might have been our most complimented vendor/part of our wedding.
The timeline and scheduling in general. The scheduling sheet she emailed me a week or so before our wedding blew my mind! Everything detailed down to 15 minute increments! She made us one without all the vendor info too and it made it so easy for my husband and I to send to our bridal parties and families! Everyone knew where they needed to be and it relieved us of having to answer a million questions leading up to the day of.
April, you were the best!! J. Starr gave us the most incredible wedding and I’m confident anyone who works with them will have the same experience we did.

I would never have been able to have the most amazing wedding day experience without the constant aid & attention I was given by April & her dream team at J. Starr. To have 2 ceremonies in 1 day, involving 3 different locations, 4 outfit changes, 2 makeup & hair looks, AND a 2nd-line to parade us to our reception, all go off without a hitch is a testament to the professionalism & follow-through of this company! Not to mention their finger on the pulse of EVERYTHING made it so we were always on time, checked off everything on our to-do list, & was able to enjoy the day stress free & feeling like a bride without a care in the world! Also, they were by far the least expensive of all the planners I interviewed, the most responsive, & the most patient with the different needs & wants that comes with blending a Hindu & Methodist wedding together. Without them, it would not have been possible for myself & my husband to keep a smile on our faces all day; not to mention our families & bridal party since they didn't have to do a bunch a grunt work on the day of, they felt they were gifted fairy godmothers!!! I honestly get emotional thinking about all they did to help our families' & our own dreams come true. I am truly grateful for them & highly recommend them to anyone who wants to be a happy & well taken care of bride on their wedding day. Thank you, ladies, for doing what y'all were hired to do, finding us the best vendors, doing all the research on costs, & basically pulling the day off so beautifully & effortlessly; I still can't get over how awesome my wedding was! Cheers!
