    When were were looking for wedding photographers, my fiance and I knew what kind of style we were looking for, but we couldn't quite find anyone who could give us what we wanted. We asked around for recommendations, and Gene came very highly recommended to us by a co-worker and friend of mine.

    Gene was absolutely the right choice for my husband and I. We wanted someone who could capture our personalities as well as the unique setting for our wedding (our ceremony was in the gardens of the Reading Public Museum and our reception was under the stars in the Planetarium). Gene and his assistant Charlie were both there for our wedding, and they made us feel relaxed and made us laugh quite a bit.

    It's only been a few days since our wedding, and he has already uploaded some pictures to his blog. We have been so happy with Gene throughout the whole process - we would definitely recommend him to anyone getting married!

    When a photographer gets married, who shoots his wedding? In my view, photographers are nerve-racking clients for other photographers, because they also live behind the lens and can see and articulate what normal clients often can't that makes a photo deeply moving and timeless. They are incredibly detail-oriented, picky, exacting and expect nothing less than perfection. They want the wedding photographer of photographers - the best of the best - and I believe that's Gene. He's incredibly amiable, creative and professional. I didn't have to wonder about my photography after hiring him. He took over and surpassed my expectations, which - being a photographer myself - were unimaginabley high.

    If you want to employ the best dentist, you ask a dentist, "Where do you go to get your teeth cleaned?" If you want the best produce, you ask a farmer, "Where do you go shopping for food?" If you want the best wedding photographer, you ask a photographer, "Who would you choose to photograph your wedding?" I would hope they would all unequivocally respond, "SmirnovWeddings.com."

    We thought they did an incredible job with the pictures and were a pleasure to work with. Some of the photos were truly memorable, and he showed what is meant by a professional photographer.

    Gene is a pleasure to work with. He is timely in his communications and flexible in scheduling. Calm under pressure and willing to move 50 banquet chairs if it means getting the right shot. He has an eye for capturing those special moments and singular actions that define who you are as a person and couple. He translates the energy and style of your event and weaves it into a story. I highly recommend Gene to anyone looking to capture a special moment in their lives from their engagement, wedding day and beyond.

    Gene was wonderful to work with and made me and my husband feel totally comfortable. He was responsive to calls and e-mails and was very flexible when we had to push our engagement shoot back last minute. He takes beautiful pictures and has a cool style. He sent us a gorgeous teaser photo the morning after our wedding to give us a taste of what we have to look forward to.

    Words cannot describe how happy and escatic we are about our wedding pictures. Gene completely blew us out of the water! He managed to capture every moment, even ones that we didn't even think of. With each picture, you can see the emotions from the day.

    Gene was very responsive with all of our questions and change of plans. He was very professional with the shoots but also managed to have fun - Gene is very creative with capturing that moment and knows when to show a sense of humor (like planking in our engagement pictures).

    Yes, the price is not cheap; however, the value and the quality and having Gene (plus extra hands) there to make sure YOUR day goes smoothly and pictured exactly how it is - there isn't a price tag you can put on it.

    Hiring Gene to shoot the photography for our wedding was the best decision we could have made. Gene was not only willing to work with us on the cost of our photography package to stay within our budget, but his service and the quality of his work far exceeded our expectations. Gene's professionalism and personality made everyone at ease while shooting. You could tell that he is truly passionate about his work. Gene's artistic photojournalistic style of photography was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding photographer, and his expert eye for detail and composition was what really made his work stand out. Everyone who saw the final photos from our wedding commented on how wonderful they are. We hired Gene to do a photobooth during our wedding reception as well. He brought a trunk full of props for the this which really helped our guests to get into the celebratory spirit! We would recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer (we already have, actually) and we are so glad to have found him.

    Had a wonderful time with Gene. He was professional and friendly - making everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. I could not have pulled the day off without him.

    Gene Smirnov is excellent and my husband and I are thrilled that he was able to photograph our wedding. Another wonderful photographer, Asya Shirakova, referred us to Gene when she realized she was booked on our date. He had photographed her wedding, so we figured it was safe to assume that he'd be wonderful--and he was! Definitely an artist through and through, while at the same time, respectful of our wishes. The photos are gorgeous and do a wonderful job reflecting the amazing day and evening that we had.

    He's on the more expensive side, but totally worth it! He was so flexible, all over everywhere to get the best shot, and totally willing to stay past the allotted time when things got too good to miss. Great job!
