Rebecca is the absolute dream makeup and hair artist from Skyla Arts Makeup & Hair. From the very start of communication with her, to my wedding day, Rebecca made me feel comfortable and cared for. She brought calmness and support to my wedding day as well as friendship and laughter. Rebecca listens to what you want and delivers. Everyone loved and complimented on how beautiful my makeup was. It stayed on all day and night looking absolutely flawless. I have never felt more beautifulI and confident with my makeup and hair. I could not imagine my wedding day without you! Thank you with all my heart Rebecca!! -

Wonderful on all levels!
I'm so thankful I found Skyla Arts and booked them for my wedding! First, the customer service that Liz and her team provide is unparalleled! I spoke with many makeup artists before booking Skyla Arts and got varying degrees of responsiveness and information. But from the moment I reached out to Skyla Arts, Liz was in contact with me, set up a phone call, and answered my every question. This was extremely helpful because once I booked them, Liz was also extremely responsive in helping me coordinate the wedding day schedule for getting my wedding party's hair and makeup done on time, in addition to mine.
Second, Liz and her team are absolutely wonderful. With the stress of planning a wedding, having vendors who are calm, cool, collected, kind, and flexible is an ABSOLUTE treasure. Their demeanor leading up to the wedding and on the day of was amazing and helped me (and my wedding party) enjoy the day.
Finally, the hair and makeup! Camille did my hair and makeup, and I absolutely loved it! As someone who doesn't wear makeup often, I wanted to make sure I booked a makeup artist that would do a more natural look. I had two sessions with Camille where she listened to what I envisioned for my hair and makeup, and she executed to perfection day of! I felt absolutely beautiful and like myself, which is exactly what I wanted.
I can't recommend booking with Skyla Arts enough, you'll get get quality, care, customer service, and your dream look! -

User1310585 Sent on 09/01/2013Liz did my hair and makeup for my wedding in August 2013, as well as hair for my two bridesmaids. Liz came highly recommended through my coordinator, and though were unable to meet in person until the day before my wedding as we live in Chicago and were married in Sonoma Valley, I was able to have a hair trial with her at the venue the day before the wedding. While her services are not cheap, she is quite talented, professional, very punctual, can travel to you and does a great job of taking scattered ideas and putting them together. I was extremely happy with my hair and makeup, even though I was not quite sure what I wanted at the outset. She really knows how to do makeup that does not look caked on and photographs very well. I think that takes a lot of talent and patience for a hair and makeup artist, especially one that has not gotten to meet the person they are working until a day before the wedding! She really knows how to do makeup that does not look caked on and photographs very well.
An example of Liz's professionalism was when my strangely sensitive skin had a random reaction to one of the products that had been used on me before that day (think tomato red and a little puffy all over my face!) a few hours before the wedding. Liz did a great job of letting me know, keeping everyone calm about it and helping me take the redness and swelling down. By the time pictures rolled around, the redness had subsided, and even if it had not, I am confident she could have covered it no problem.
On top of everything else, Liz is just a genuinely nice, friendly person, which makes the hours of bridal prep at a stressful time much more relaxing. I would strongly recommend her to anyone! -

Jeah Sent on 12/31/2009Liz did my makeup for our wedding and she made me look my best on our special day. The products that she used were ALL great quality and the makeup stayed on for more than 10 hours. I didn't even need to do a retouch! It probably would've stayed longer if I didn't decide to remove it before going to bed! I never got that "cake" look on my face. I loved what she did with my eyes... I wish I could have that stay on forever!
Being Asian, it's hard to find somebody who knows how to work on Asian features.. Especially the eyes. When I saw Liz's website, I felt that she was the one... So I e-mailed her and asked if she could do a last minute trial makeup. The following day, I came to her place and it didn't take me long to feel comfortable with her. She's very friendly and easy-going.
While we were finishing up and I was admiring what she did with my eyes, a crazy incident happened... The building right next to her apartment caught on fire and there was black smoke everywhere! We panicked but I realized one of us had to stay calm so I did. Plus, I had a pre-wedding photo shoot in about an hour and I didn't want to ruin my makeup! Hehe! We ran outside and stayed at the manager's unit, trying to calm each other down. The firefighters came and contained the fire. When it was safe to come down, she took me back to her place and did a retouch on me. Despite that very scary event, she managed to collect herself and finish off with a makeup that made me look like that incident didn't stress me out. She was very professional and she kept apologizing to me... I told her it was definitely not her fault and that she was doing a wonderful job... I remember telling her "Well, at least this is very memorable for both of us" and we just laughed it off. I felt bad leaving her right away but I had a photo shoot to catch. The pre-wedding pictures turned out really great, you couldn't tell that I was scared for my life few hours prior to the photo shoot!
During the wedding day, I had a few minor problems that morning and was running late for my hair and makeup session. Liz was very nice and patient... She waited for me at the hotel and I felt so bad for making her wait. When we got to the hotel, she immediately went straight to doing her stuff and as expected, she did an amazing job on my makeup. She did my stepmom and my mother-in-law but because we were running late on schedule, they rushed her into getting the makeup done. I had to leave and I didn't know about this until my friends told me few days later. I felt so bad. They didn't really have to do that because I wasn't going to start with the wedding without the mothers. Anyway, she made the moms look young and pretty! I loved their makeup too, even though she had to do it in a rush. Sorry Liz.
Overall, I would say she has all the great qualities to be a successful makeup artist. She deserves the 5.0 star rating that I gave her. Trust me. She does. I wish she didn't have to move up North, I wouldn't have mind if I had to pay a few extra bucks to get my makeup done with her for any other special occasions.
