I knew from the moment I got engaged that I wanted Christy from Simply Captivating Salon to do my wedding hair, and she exceeded every expectation.
Not only is Christy incredibly talented, but she is also one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. From my trial to the wedding day, she made the entire experience so enjoyable and stress free. She was such a calming presence on the morning of the wedding, and she styled my hair exactly how I envisioned it. I truly felt like the best version of myself, and I received countless compliments throughout the day.
Michelle was amazing as well! She styled several of my bridesmaids, and everyone was thrilled with how their hair turned out. The entire team was so wonderful to work with.
I cannot recommend Simply Captivating Salon enough. There is no one else I would have trusted with my wedding hair. Thank you for making me and my girls feel so beautiful on such a special day! -

Christy is the BEST!
Although I should have done this sooner, what a better way to kick off my one year wedding anniversary by writing a vendor review! Christy was the hairstylist for myself and my bridesmaids on 1/25/25. When I tell you she is the BEST there is, please believe me! I had an elegant black tie winter wedding, and my dress went perfectly with old Hollywood waves. Christy exceeded my expectations and gave me the perfect waves. She is known for being the master of Hollywood waves in Pittsburgh for a reason! She was also able to do do my bridesmaids hair beautifully, and they looked incredible throughout the night! Although I had a small enough group to only need Christy's skills, I am sure that anyone from Simply Captivating Salon would be exceptional. Will always recommend her business for any friends getting married! -

There are not enough words to express how wonderful Christy and her team are. She was so amazing to work with. Not only is Christy professional and so sweet, she is AMAZING at what she does. I took an inspo picture to her knowing that it may not be able to be done since the inspo was a wig. She had ZERO doubt that she could pull it off and when she spun me around to the mirror i could not believe my eyes. My wedding was old Hollywood glam vibes and i had chosen a Marilyn Monroe-ish type hairstyle and it was even better than the pictures. She made my dreams come true and made me feel like a princess. Then on wedding day her and her team did my hair along with 6 bridesmaids and both moms and every single one of them looked AMAZING too!! My sister-in-law actually cried at how good her hair looked. Christy was wonderful to work with for my wedding hair. She was super responsive when we needed to communicate and very easy going. I absolutely loved my final hairstyle and so did my bridesmaids who got theirs done as well.
The hair trial was easy - I sent a few inspiration photos and she pulled it off without a problem. My mom also wanted a trial and Christy accommodated so that we could do them both together. She was very organized, sending multiple communications for both the trial and wedding, a suggested time schedule based on the number of people getting their hair done and when we needed to be finished by, and a flyer with day-of instructions. I would absolutely recommend Simply Captivating Styling for your styling needs! -

Whole brbidal party was thrilled
As an out of town Bride who had never really spent much time in Pittsburgh, I devoted a lot of time to researching vendors, and when it came down to hair, the resounding feedback I received was that Christi and the Simply Captivating Team were the team to work with. From my initial inquiry to the big day, Christi was incredibly warm and easy to work with. She cares deeply about her clients, and it is evident in how she conducts herself. At both my trial and on the big day, Christi and Michelle brought the best energy, and every single member of my bridal party walked away LOVING their hair. While my hair was important, my non-negotiable when inquiring with vendors was their ability to work with textured hair – which, my MOH has! In the past, my MOH had been at weddings where the Hair team was not able to accommodate her hair or if they tried, they ended up damaging it. That was simply not the case with Christi and her team – not only did they make my MOH feel comfortable with their styling products and tools, but they also did a beautiful job. My MOH was so excited, she facetimed her mom as soon as she got out of the chair to show her – she was almost in tears she was so excited. My party had a mix of all different hair types and needs, from fine, to thick, to those experiencing hair loss due to health issues - every single bridal party member looked and FELT amazing. Each unique need was met, and each style lasted all day and night. We could not have been happier with Christi, Michelle, and the Simply Captivating team, and would STRONGLY encourage everyone to work with them!! -

Christy made the entire process so easy and fun, and I can truly say I've never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day and that was largely thanks to Christy and her team! She listened to what I wanted, and made adjustments as needed, being thorough and helpful every step of the way. She checked in numerous times over the course of planning, allowing me to feel so at ease and relaxed. The morning of the wedding I was able to just sit back and let her take over. I knew the end result would be incredible, but she went above and beyond my expectations. I received compliments all night about my hair, and it held perfectly despite all my dancing and the 86 degree weather! If you're looking for a wedding hair stylist who is professional, responsive, creative and genuinely cares about her clients, look no further. Christy is THE BEST. -

So so happy!
I don't have enough good things to say about Kara. She brought such a calming presence to our wedding day. What really impressed me was her ability to ask really good questions to take my hair from perfect to somehow even more perfect! I had some difficulty trying to describe what I wanted as I couldn't find a sample photo that exactly aligned, and totally she knocked it out of the park! She was also helpful talking me through buying extensions for the style I wanted, which was unfamiliar territory for me. Kara and Shayna were friendly, adaptive, and so talented. I'm over the moon that I booked Simply Captivating for our wedding hair. And as for my bridal hair - absolutely no notes, speaking as a perfectionist! I received so many compliments and it somehow didn't move an inch despite hours of dancing! I felt so bridal and so beautiful, and Kara was an imperative part of helping me feel that way. I can't recommend her enough! One of the best decisions I made for our wedding. -

First, it was very easy to communicate and set up my contract. Everything was very clear and I think the pricing is very reasonable. My head stylist was Amelia and it was very easy to choose which stylist I wanted due to the ample amount of media/examples on each stylist's instagram pages. This is super helpful! For my trial, Amelia was super helpful with fitting me in for a time that worked with my schedule, so I didn't have to take any time off work, which was super nice. Amelia was super easy to communicate with and understood exactly what I wanted for my bridal hair. And she absolutely delivered! Amelia and her other stylist were super professional, timely, and did an amazing job on everyone's hair. I am so satisfied and 100% recommend Simply Captivating for a stress-free experience and their beautiful work! -

Amelia and Michelle did such a wonderful job styling my own hair and my bridesmaid's hair for my wedding day. I chose a low bun option with pieces left out in the front. Amelia executed the style perfectly! She was able to attach some hair pieces that I purchased around the bun as well, and they looked great with style! She even taught my maid of honor how to remove the veil for after the ceremony which was super helpful! As for the bridesmaids, each stylist took her time and made sure their up-dos were perfect. Kara is so sweet and great to work with. My mom and I did a trial which was so nice to meet Kara and get a feel for how the styles looked. She was so helpful with giving input on different styles, veil placement, and hair accessories. She made us feel comfortable making a few changes for the wedding day and could not have been nicer about it. She checked in with me along the way to make sure I was happy with each step. I absolutely loved how my hair turned out! It was beyond what I was expecting and made my entire look! It lasted all night and was so comfortable. Thank you so much for making my day so special!!
Kara also did my mom's and bridesmaid's hair. She arrived early to set up, took her time with each person, and made sure we stayed on schedule. She made getting ready enjoyable and stress-free! I hired Simply Captivating to do hair for myself and my bridal party. Everything from the response to my initial inquiry email to working with her on the day of my wedding, was exceptional. At all times Christy was professional, attentive, and personable. My initial hair trail was one of the most relaxing experiences throughout the entire wedding planning process. I felt she truly listened to me and did an excellent job of executing my vision. My bridal party was made up of all different kinds of hair types and lengths and she managed to make everyone feel and look beautiful. On the day of my wedding, she was early to setup and worked very well with the make-up artist in order to ensure that everyone had plenty of time for hair and makeup without being rushed. I myself never once felt rushed or stressed and Christy did an amazing job of making me feel special and beautiful on my wedding day. A Happy Sept 23, 2023 Bride!
I chose Simply Captivating Salon because of the outstanding reviews and noticing other brides who have used them in the Pittsburgh area in the past all over social media. As soon as I inquired, Christy reached out to me to start the booking process and answer any questions. I was lucky enough to book with one of the lead stylists, Kara, who was quick to respond to any of my emails / texts. Kara and Christy were so accommodating when I needed to add my mother in law late notice and helping me plan my day of hair schedule.
When we had my hair trial I wasn't as prepared as I wanted to be. I kept going back and forth on the hair style I wanted on my wedding day since its such a huge decision. I also wasn't set on my hair accessories (which I actually ended up changing). Kara was honest with her opinion and helped me decide as I am super indecisive. I truly valued her opinion.
I got to know Kara during my hair trail and was even more excited to have her as my hair stylist on one of the biggest days of my life. She is easy to chat with and very personable, and also shares the same love as I do for coffee! :)
On wedding day, Kara & Haley arrived right on time and happy as can be. I felt comfortable telling Kara what I wanted differently on the day of vs. my trail. My hair turned out exactly how I imagined it. Each bridesmaid loved their styles and enjoyed Kara and Haley.
It POURED on my wedding day out of nowhere (Pittsburgh weather for ya) and my hair did stay for the most part. I truly think Kara was awesome and will suggest her to everyone!

Best experience i could ever ask for!
Amelia and Michelle were absolute perfection! Not only professional and kind but absolute artist who went above and beyond to make all the girls look absolutely stunning. Getting ready with them was not only easy, but just so much fun. From the second I booked this team I was over the moon excited, but what made it even better was hearing all of the girls reactions when they saw what their looked like!
I have fine hair but wanted it to have lots of texture and volume, not only did Amelia accomplish that but it stayed in ALL NIGHT LONG!
As for my girls, everyone wanted an updo and with all different types of hair and ideas boy did Michelle and Amelia take that and crush it. Helping give insight to the girls of what would work best, they all looked flawless. Not only that, but every single updo stayed in. I have heard from so many of my guests how beautiful and elegant everyone’s glam was, and that is a huge testimony to this team. I could never recommend them enough to anyone. Truly was the best experience I could ever ask for and I am forever grateful!!! -

Christy and Michelle are truly ARTISTS and I have never been more impressed with event hair in my life. My bridal party included girls with so many different hair textures, from super thick and long, to thin and short, to naturally curly. Every single person truly looked incredible in a range of styles and was so happy with their hair. Multiple bridesmaids, including one whose hair never stays curled (it fell flat on her own wedding!) showed up to brunch the next morning still looking fresh out of the chair! We have all been bridesmaids many times each, and repeatedly the girls were saying how this is the best they've ever looked!! I have very fine hair and was very worried about achieving the regal low bun of my dreams. Christy was extremely communicative and helpful in planning ahead of time, making adjustments at my trial, and executing the perfect style on wedding day. Christy was absolutely amazing from start to finish! She was a huge help with finalizing the wedding morning timeline and she and Shannon Cole (makeup artist) worked wonderfully together. Amelia is a hair queen!!
When I got engaged I started to reach out to some past brides I knew to see who I should try and book with for my wedding hair. Simply Captivating was always mentioned even if a bride couldn’t have them do their own hair!! I was lucky enough that when I reached out there was still availability for my date and am SO thankful I got Amelia as my hair stylist. Christy and Amelia were so responsive and made the booking process so easy. Any question I had or edits I wanted to make to the contract they were happy to answer or do. Amelia is so extremely talented and gave me the wedding hair of my dreams. It was so fun meeting with her for my trials and getting to know her. She made my getting ready experience the morning of so special and memorable. I wish I could always have her do my hair for any event in my life! Could not recommend enough. Christy did an amazing job! She was very responsive to emails and experienced with naturally curly hair, which is very hard to find. She was able to use my natural curls and made it feel like the best version of my natural style. Our bridal party had a range of waves, half updos, braids, buns, etc. and Christy rocked them all and they looked great all night! I never worried about my hair coming undone and would highly recommend.

Christy is so amazing!!! I honestly don’t have words for how great she is. From start to finish, she made my wedding so amazing. With a large bridal party, she was super accommodating and was so great to all of my girls! She is seriously one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Hire Simply Captivating!
I got on Simply Captivating Hair's waiting list and booked them as soon as their 2023 books opened and it was one of the best decisions I made when planning our wedding! Christy was amazing to work with leading up to the wedding! She is SO organized which I love. My mom and I did a trial a month before the wedding and we both changed a few minor details from the trial to the wedding. She was so organized the morning of with that too, she had printed pictures out of inspiration and pictures from the trial and what needed changed. Her whole team was so sweet the morning of my wedding which is so important when you're getting ready on a day with a lot of emotions and a lot going on! We had 18 ladies getting hair done and Christy made sure we were prepared with a schedule ahead of time so that we wouldn't run behind. Bre, Michelle, and Haley all did amazing as well! All of my bridesmaids loved their hair and everyone kept commenting on how it stayed all night long!
Christy made me feel so beautiful and calm the morning of my wedding! She is seriously one of the sweetest humans!

Amelia was amazing! The trial was so helpful and she was so patient to listen to any concerns I expressed. The day of she was efficient, professional and fun to be around. The best hair squad!

Absolutely perfect from start to finish!
Christy and her team at Simply Captivating are absolutely amazing and all are incredibly talented. If you show them a hair inspo picture, they will bring it to life!
Christy is also one of the sweetest human beings I’ve ever met. She is extremely organized and sent emails with not only what was due and at what time but also a time line for when each person in the bridal party would be getting their hair done. She took out all of the guesswork and made the entire process seamless and enjoyable.

Simply the BEST!
Christy and the rest of the Simply Captivating team were the absolute best. From the beginning, Christy‘s communication was prompt, professional, and organized. She made my experience better than I could have imagined. From the day of the trial to the day of the wedding I had total trust in Christy that she would give me the hairstyle of my dreams- and she definitely did! She and her team DID NOT MISS A BEAT on my wedding day. I had a large bridal party, flower girls, and 2 mothers who needed their hair done and we were on time for everything. No one felt rushed at all. I wore my hair down for my wedding day and the style held throughout the entire day and even the reception. Not only that, but everyone else also looked amazing and their hair stayed throughout the whole day and night also!
It was so great to get to know Christy. She is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. I would recommend Simply Captivating to everyone I know for their wedding hair needs. Amelia is the best!!
I cannot imagine another hair stylist other than Amelia! She was so incredibly patient with me and my vision. I started with one idea initially, and after realizing it wouldnt work for me and my dress, I panicked and needed a second trial. Amelia was kind enough to fit a second hair trial with me in her busy schedule, and it was great! She continued to be patient with my further changes/suggestions and on the wedding day she pulled off the most beautiful and perfect hair style I have ever seen in my life. It was exactly what I wanted !!! She is an artist and is excellent at her craft! -

We worked with Amelia from Simply Captivating Salon for my wedding, and would hire her again in a heartbeat. Amelia is incredibly talented, I was blown away by how my hair and my whole bridal party looked. It rained all day, and our hair held up through all the humidity, rain, and dancing. Amelia from simply captivating was absolutely wonderful to work with! She is the best hype woman and made me feel beautiful for my big day. The best in the burgh (& beyond!)
I really don't know where to start.. I first met Christy years ago when her and Michelle did our hair for a friends wedding. I never liked my hair when I got it done in the past and I was OBSESSED with how Michelle did it that day. I knew I needed them both for my day (when the day came! lol) That said, Christy was the FIRST person I booked -- before even securing a venue and it was easily the best decision I made!
On top of her amazing work, she is very personable and down to earth. She really went above and beyond for me when the weather took an unexpected turn, calling for up to 9 inches of snow at our location, an hour outside of pgh -- talk about a panic attack! lol Christy and her team put my mind at ease and booked rooms at a nearby hotel so they could make it to do our hair! It actually makes me emotional still thinking about it.
I could go on for days but at the end of the day, they are THE BEST in the game. Christy, Michelle, and Haley -- you ladies are the real MVPs. Michelle and Haley, you two are just as amazing and I 20/10 recommend you also! EVERYONES hair looked AMAZING. THANK YOU SO MUCH! -

Christy is the best!!
I am so glad I hired Simply Captivating Salon for my wedding hair! Christy and Michelle did an amazing job doing 10 beautiful hairstyles on myself, my bridesmaids, mothers, and grandmother. Everyone raved about how much they liked their hair and how well it stayed in place. Christy is very organized and helped plan out the timeline, which was so helpful for getting ready. Christy is so incredibly sweet, and I felt comfortable talking to her at my trial and on the day of! I was not entirely sure on what style I wanted, and she talked me through different options and worked with me to create my perfect style and even made tweaks to the style after the trial. On the day of the wedding, she was also incredibly helpful and worked with some of the bridesmaids who weren’t quite sure what they wanted either. I felt beautiful on my big day, and I have Christy to thank for that! I highly recommend Christy and her team! -

Simply captivating was amazing!
Can't recommend Christy and her team enough! I had a wonderful experience with Christy, she took the time during my trial to understand exactly what I was looking for and made it happen. She made sure I was 100% happy before she let me leave, just for the trial! When my wedding day came and I decided to make a change she didn't bat an eye. My curls stayed in place all day, which is no small feat for my hair. It was absolutely perfect and I loved working with Simply Captivating! -
