I couldn't have asked for more. Working with Will and Jo Anne was an absolute pleasure. As a bride planning from afar (I live in Boston) they were more than accomodating - often working around my schedule to help me visit the site, discuss the ceremony, etc. They were responsive to my questions and did their absolute best to accomodate my requests or suggestions! The venue is picture perfect but it's Will and Jo Anne that make the place truly shine! They were amazing. My wedding was absolutely flawless thanks to their attentiveness to detail.

Our daughter and son-in-law were married at Rock Hill Plantation House on 9/10/11, and their special day, as well as the wedding ceremony, and reception couldn't have been more perfect! Rev. Will Cannon, and his lovely wife, Joanne couldn't have been more attentive and gracious to the Bride and Groom, as well as to the parents and all of our guests!
The setting is exquisite, serene and inviting ~ perfect for the maximum amount of guests the site can accommodate (130). Granted, we parents may be paying for the event itself, but the Cannon's treated the special couple as though they were their own children ~ such a special touch! They are such lovely people, and I simply cannot say enough kind things about them both!! Throughout the planning, they truly became like family to all of us :}
The preferred catering vendor we chose, was simply awesome as well!! Great food, and even greater service!!
The Cannon's home is beautiful, and the surrounding grounds are stunning, but not ostentatious. The carriage house is simply the most perfect place to hold a wedding reception!! You can't help but love it! The grounds are impeccable, and I truly believe, that no matter what time of year a couple is married there, the surrounding grounds and landscaping will be impeccable as well!
We visited at least 6-8 venues, prior to chosing Rock Hill Plantation House, and knew right away, that this was THE most perfect place to celebrate such a special occasion! We felt that Rock Hill's prices were extremely reasonable, but more importantly, we could sense that this was going to be the most positive experience, simply by the sincere and personal welcome and assurance we felt, upon meeting with Rev. Will and Joanne that first time!

Rev. Will and Jo Anne are wonderful. The venue is beautiful, the service was great, the planning sessions were great. Absolutely everything was prefect. We couldn't be happier. The options they provide for the ceremony are limitless and ours was better than anything we could have imagined. Once you first contact them you become part of their family and they treat you as such. Jo Anne kept my sanity the day of the wedding before the ceremony and she was there throughout the rest of the wedding. Rev. Will did a superb job with the ceremony and talked with family the rest of the night. We can't express enough how happy we are with how everything went. What can I say....I have nothing but GREAT things to say about Will and Jo Ann. From the day we first met them we knew we would be getting married at Rock Hill. Anytime I had a question, there was a quick answer waiting for me. It had been raining off and on within the hour before my wedding and the had the back up plan all set in the event the rain didn't hold out. Luckily though, the sun came out long enough for us to have the ceremony out in the gazebo, which is gorgeous, and for us to get our pictures. The property is amazing as are the people who own it. Everyone that came kept saying how lovely the place was.

Rock Hill Plantation House is the best place to get married in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan and greater Frederickburg areas. Reverend Will is warm, friendly and funny, and Jo Anne is sweet, kind, and an absolute doll. They will work with you to make sure that you have the wedding ceremony and reception of your dreams. They also know great vendors and their recommendations can be trusted.

The venue is absolutely beautiful, there are many great spots for photo opportunities, and the carriage house is large yet has an intimate feel. Like another bride, our original plans did not include Rock Hill, but everything does happen for a reason. I am so glad my husband and I got married at Rock Hill. Our family and friends couldn't say enough about how perfect it was.

Rock Hill Plantation was the best choice for my wedding! The grounds are gorgeous and the guests enjoyed the freedom of walking around outside during the day. Rev Will and Dr. Jo Anne are so friendly, accomodating, and easy to work with. They ensure that you are comfortable at all times, and they will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. Highly recommended!!!

Hmmm...where should I start to tell you about this wonderful place:)

I “accidentally” stumbled on Rock Hill Plantation House during a HUGE upset in my original wedding plans, but I’m a true believer that things happen for a reason!!

I went home and looked at the website and decided instead of emailing I would call and leave a message because this looked like a place I wanted to have my wedding and I needed to get a hold of them immediately!! Even though it was “later” in the day my “angel” Jo Anne Cannon picked up the phone and talked to me for half an hour settling my nerves about my wedding “upset”.

We met with Jo Anne and Rev Will a couple of days after the call and as soon as my fiancé and I pulled up and saw the beauty of the place and as soon as Jo Anne greeted us at the front door I knew this was “the place” I was going to get married and the people that would be involved in my wedding day.

Jo Anne is a very warm, kind, and AMAZING person and I couldn’t have done this without her. She has all of the answers and just take MY advice…and take HER advice…she won’t steer you wrong; she of course has been involved in every wedding at Rock Hill and she only wants the best for you and your wedding day.

Rev Will is a very warm and funny guy with a big smile and a big heart!! He gives you the guidance to put together the perfect ceremony for you and will take suggestions to make it special for you. I thought I would be a “emotional mess” during the ceremony…turns out I went the other way and became a little nervous (and made some terribly nervous faces ha-ha) BUT I know either way I showed up at the alter that he would have made me feel at ease so my husband and I could enjoy our “perfect” ceremony and that most important moment in our lives.

Regarding the venue itself: Everything is perfectly beautiful!!
The house is beautiful inside and out with wonderfully inviting porches and so much welcoming charm. Inside is so warm and inviting with its beautiful hardwood floors (for you Jo Anne) and Irish charm.
The Bridal suite was so beautiful and relaxing…even a couple of places to hide from your bridal party for a minute or two if you need to get away…ha-ha.
The grounds are absolutely pristine, green and AMAZING!! Flowers and trees everywhere…ponds, ducks, even cute goats and a beautiful pony named Murphy in the background…what more could you ask for! With all of the beautiful scenery you will hardly have to do any decorating at all…which is a huge cost savings over other venues!
The grounds are huge and live music sounds amazing bouncing off the hills.
The ceremonial gazebo is beautiful and the brick walk path is “magical” to walk down to greet your husband to be!
The carriage house has so many beautiful details so you also don’t have to do any decorating. The walls are draped with beautiful fabrics that add such a lovely touch.
Jo Anne has thought of every little detail to make your wedding day as perfect as it can get.

I wish I could do the whole day over again in slow motion (minus the rain…even though they say it’s “good luck”). I got so many compliments from everybody about how beautifully perfect Rock Hill Plantation House was and how amazing the people were.

My friends and I have already been talking about one day have a “vow renewal” with multiple couples at Rock Hill just because it was so perfect!

What a beautiful place for a wedding!! Our daughter was married at Rock Hill Plantation last Saturday and the facilities and staff were awesome! The lawn and house were beautiful and Bill and Jo Anne were perfect hosts. Everything was flawless and we are totally satisfied with our experience. We would recommend this location for any wedding. I could write for days about how wonderful Rock Hill Plantation House was! Jo Anne and Will are the nicest people you will ever meet and are there in every step of the way of planning your wedding! Their list of vendors was so helpful and we only used people on the list and we were not disappointed! The bridal suite made me feel like a princess. I absolutely could not have imagined a more perfect wedding!

My husband and I had our wedding at Rock Hill plantation on May 1st and we had the most amazing experience. My parents live in Stafford,VA and we live in New Mexico (my husband is military) so the planning was a little difficult but Rev. Will and Jo Anne were very very accommodating, from the first time we met them they felt like family! They recommended vendors who knew the facility so when we called them they new exactly what to do and how to do it and were able to give suggestions on what works best! Rev. Will was our officiant and he supplied us with so many options on how the ceremony could go so we were able to choose how exactly we would want our ceremony to go! On the actual day Jo Anne was like a combination of a second mother and a wedding planner! It was wonderful to have her there so we knew exactly when and where to be throughout the day! I would recommend Rock Hill Plantation to everyone, the place is absolutely beautiful and everything about it and the family gave me my dream wedding!

P.S. We used Star Dust photography (which is one of their recommended photographers) and Nathaniel and Hannah are great photographers and such wonderful people!!!

My husband and I got married at Rockhill this April and enjoyed every bit of the experience. Rev. Will and Jo Anne are so wonderful and easy to work with. They have so much knowledge and experience in coordinating weddings and parties and were on top of every little detail. The vendors that they work with frequently clearly respect this venue and the owners a great deal. They have made great connections with florists, caterers, bakers, and DJ's! I would definitely recommend working with as many of their recommended vendors as you are comfortable with. My husband, family, friends, and wedding party showed up the afternoon of our wedding and were amazed to see that everything was taken care of beyond our expectations. We literally just had to show up.

We had a beautiful ceremony & reception at Rock Hill. Not only did Jo Anne & Rev. Will arrange lovely warm weather (in March, no less! ;-)), they went out of their way to make everything perfect for us. Jo Anne is the queen of details, and made sure every aspect of the decor and environment was perfect for us. I trusted her judgment completely and knew that no matter what, if anything went wrong or if anything we planned ended up not being as good as it possibly could be, that Jo Anne would fix it either with my approval (if changes were noticeable) or without my knowledge (so as not to stress me out!).

From the beginning of the process, Jo Anne was the most responsive vendor we had. She sent me long emails explaining everything and offering advice and ideas, but always respectfully and with an attitude of: whatever we wanted would be fine, and they were happy to work with us.

Reverend Will was fun and helpful before the wedding, giving us lots of options for our ceremony. His planning materials made sure that the ceremony was uniquely ours and very, very personal. He had materials that were not only appropriate for us (spiritual, non-religious), but really spoke to how we feel about love and life and our relationship. (He also has a large selection of religious planning materials, for people who prefer that.)

However, he was HYSTERICAL during the ceremony!! Everyone thought we must've imported him (my husband is from Scotland, Rev. Will is from Ireland), because he was so funny and charming that no one could believe we just lucked into finding him! :-) It was perfect though, he used humour to help everyone relax so we could enjoy our ceremony, but still maintained a beautiful sense of reverence for this sacred moment.

The only thing (and I mean the ONLY thing) that was less than perfect was that they don't include on their paperwork the $150 fee for the rented dance floor. We were definitely told this upfront, but we forgot about it, so it was a surprise when they sent us the reminder for our 30-day payment. It was our fault for not writing it down initially, but would have been helpful to have it in writing.

Despite that one minor blip, Jo Anne, Rev. Will, and their lovely venue went above and beyond our expectations and hopes. We knew without any doubt that anything they were in charge of would be perfect. They are THE MOST gracious hosts and we were thrilled to get to know them and share our special day with them. We can't recommend them highly enough!!

The venue is perfect for any wedding /reception. The owners tend to the details, and take stress away from the bride and groom. The grounds are well maintained. We have received nothing but compliments from our guests on the beauty of both the ceremony site, photography sites and reception area. The owners have it down and know what they are doing. If you are looking for a beautiful venue at a reasonable price and want to be treated like a queen this is the place.

I can't speak highly enough of Jo Anne and Rev. Will at Rock Hill. Beginning to end, they made me feel like family and made wedding planning a breeze. We started planned our wedding long distance and Jo Anne set me up with vendor appointments before I even booked with her. She's WONDERFUL! She always responded to my emails the same day, most of the time within an hour and was a huge help in answering my questions and making suggestions.

The plantation is incredibly beautiful with so much natural decor and flowers that I barely had to decorate for the wedding and reception (besides centerpieces of course). They love what they do and it truly shows. I highly recommend everyone to book here. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The grounds are perfect for photography with so many beautiful natural backdrops. Rock Hill gave me the gave me the romantic and timeless atmosphere I wanted while still keeping everything relaxed and carefree. Not many brides can say they had a stress free perfect day, but I did :) Reverend Will was the perfect choice for officiating our ceremony. He was funny and sentimental and everything we wanted. THANKS JO ANN AND WILL!!!

Rock Hill Plantation was absolutely amazing. From the first day of planning through the entire reception, Reverand Will and Jo Anne were great to work with and made sure our wedding was perfect. We loved everything, our parents coundn't be happier, and we received compliments from all of our guests.

Reverand Will's ceremony was perfect. He is entertaining and very charming. He personalized every detail of the ceremony for us which was very helpful. I think a handful of the guests were asking him questions and are ready to sign him up for their weddings.

The reception hall and the outdoor veranda area are beautiful. We had about 110 guests. There was plenty of room for all the tables and dancing, and the guests enjoyed stepping outside to enjoy the fresh air. The veranda was beautifully decorated with flowers and lights that Jo Anne and put up.

If we could do it all over again (which I wish we could) we would go right back to the Rock hill Plantation again. The venue is beautiful.

Will and JoAnne were great ... they did double book our rehearsal day but it turned out fine and didn't get too far behind on time (we had dinner planned right after). The price was a bit high for the venue and we had to pick from only 2 catering companies, one of which took weeks to return our phone calls and then didn't fax pricing information when they said they would. Read the contract carefully - it doesn't give you a lot of time to prepare or decorate before the ceremony, so plan carefully. Overall the venue was beautiful and we got our deposit back within 2 weeks after the wedding.
