From the beginning of venue searching to the day our wedding occurred, the staff at Riverside Receptions has been absolutely amazing. They are a well oiled machine and made our wedding everything we could have imagined and more. Can't forget to mention the absolutely stunning view from every window. We envisioned an indoor wedding that captivated nature and Riverside Receptions is it!

Renee was fantastic! She really did make planning a wedding so easy! The venue is absolutely stunning, the food is fantastic (all our guests raved about it), our dessert table and cake were beautiful. Renee and team worked with our vendors and we literally did not worry about a thing on the day of our wedding! Renee truly is so professional, personable, and organized! She was very easy to work with! Plus, the pricing was extremely fair considering how fantastic and stress-free everything was!

Riverside receptions made my dream wedding come true! The staff was on top of everything, the food is to die for and the venue itself is one of a kind. My husband and I couldn’t be any happier with the outcome!

The staff at Riverside Receptions is amazing, the food is to die for (guests called and texted for days to tell us how good) the space itself is just gorgeous. Did I mention the food. Clean plates and happy bellies for sure. They are all inclusive, and made the process so simple without having to chase down a bunch of various vendors, which is the way to go. I would not hesitate to book any type of event there.

This venue is a hidden gem! We saw this venue after late nights researching, and although it was a little further out than we were initially planning, we knew we had to at least take a tour. Honestly, we should have stopped looking at other venues after that. Every venue we toured was compared to Riverside Receptions, and nothing could top it.

Tina, Renee, and the rest of the team are all so wonderful to work with. They are in the business of making wedding dreams come true. They were so accommodating in ways that we never even imagined. We were in contact mostly with Renee. Renee showed us the venue, answered our seemingly endless questions, met with us for our drop off appointment, worked with us during our rehearsal, and coordinated the lineup for our ceremony. It was nice to see a familiar face at our meetings. She also was very helpful with her suggestions, and she knew what worked and what did not.

The venue itself is gorgeous. We had the lower level for our wedding day. The weather was beautiful in the afternoon, so we took beautiful pictures outside and behind the venue on the river. It rained during our ceremony and dinner. Luckily, we had planned for our ceremony to be inside regardless. The reception room was right on the river with full windows across the whole room and a gorgeous view. Later in the evening, when the rain stopped, our guests were able to spend time outside.

The food was delicious. We enjoyed all the food at our tasting, so we had a hard time making decisions. The food was just as delicious at our wedding. The drinks were also great, and there was never a long wait. Our guests had such a great time. Overall, if we had to do it all again, we would not change a thing.

The coordinators were so helpful and they did so amazing making sure everything was set up how we wanted and on time. The only thing i heard from the guests was that their champagne glasses were cleared before the toasts, but that was probably just a miscommunication.

Riverside Receptions and Amy Hardersen we’re absolutely fantastic to work with and Riverside is an incredible venue with beautiful views. Amy was so helpful and responsive to emails when asking questions and scheduling the food tastings and various meetings. The food here is so delicious and the wait staff is so professional and kind. I cannot thank Amy enough for her professionalism, responsiveness, kindness and positive attitude. Riverside made my reception everything I could have dreamed of. Now I just need my other friends to get married here so I can enjoy another evening there!! Thank you

Riverside was unbelievably amazing! They are so helpful and kind truly brought my vision to life and executed the day to perfection! Amy is amazing to work with!

My only advice would be to not work with their preferred florist Town and Country Gardens we had huge problems with them.

Nothing but greatness from this venue! Amy & Tina were amazing to work with. Planning a wedding during covid was anything but easy, but they made it so much better! They were helpful, had responses immediately and overall just great to work with. Venue is breathtaking. We rented the whole building for our wedding (ceremony downstairs, reception upstairs) but also had the option to rent upstairs to get ready for the day, and it was so peaceful to have the river in the background while getting your hair and make up done . Food is AMAZING! We had nothing but compliments from everyone! Thank you Riverside!

We couldn’t have had a better experience with Riverside. They were so flexible with us - we made so many changes due to covid and budget restraints. Amy was the sweetest, most kind person and helped every step of the way. Our wedding was absolutely gorgeous and everything I could’ve ever wanted.

I don't know where to start. Riverside Receptions was the best decision we could have made for our wedding reception. Frances is no joke, extremely professional, kind, helpful, and one of the sweetest people I've ever met. The whole staff is wonderful too, Amy and Jessica helped along the way and always got back to me quickly whenever I'd reached out with a question. Our wedding ceremony and reception were perfect and I have Riverside to thank forever! The food... INCREDIBLE! BEST chicken I've ever had, everything was amazing and was served hot food hot, cold food cold! The service was outstanding and the staff all friendly and accommodating. My husband and I LOVED how us and the head table was served with the staff parading out to kick off our entree course! I can't compliment enough, choose this venue if you want the best experience!

Riverside Receptions is exceptional. Don’t even waste your time looking at other venues if you want to get married in the Geneva area. We had our ceremony and reception there in March of 2019, and everything was perfect. The only reason it has taken me so long to write this review is because I’ve been worried I won’t be able to do them justice, but I will try my best.

The wonderful staff are so friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive, and they will gently guide you through the process from start to finish. Throwing the perfect reception/party is all they do, and they have it down to a science, yet make it look like art. That’s one of the many advantages you get when you book your event here. This isn’t a restaurant or gallery, etc. with a back room that is trying to be an event space; this is a one-stop shop of event-planning excellence.
Amy, Frances, and Jessica are so helpful and positive, they want to help make your dream event come true. Everything is so well organized, and they make it simple for you make sure all of your bases are covered. They know what questions to ask and think of all the little details you might overlook or not think to plan for.

Our day-of-coordinator Neal was also a godsend. He made sure everything ran smoothly and again, asked questions I wouldn’t have thought to ask. He was our point of communication with our band/emcee, photographer, and florist to be our eyes and ears when we were getting ready/occupied. His service is invaluable because you as the bride(s) or groom(s) simply will not have time to do/oversee everything yourself that day. Also bar/waitstaff is top-notch and were so attentive, ensuring every one of our guests was comfortable.

Speaking of value, I don’t think Riverside can be beat. The venue itself is gorgeous, with all of the ammenities of a banquet hall, yet none of the cookie-cutterness/tackiness. This place has charm/character for days. Also so many places will nickel and dime you with linens, chair upgrades, etc. Not Riverside. Their packages include linens, chiavari chairs, centerpieces, 4-course meal, your cake, their expert coordinators/staff (priceless), and so much more for a very reasonable price. Also I know all the reviews talk about how amazing the food is. They are 100% correct. All of our guests raved about their meals, not one complaint. Even my cousin who is a professional chef couldn’t believe how good his steak was and was so impressed that all 200 guests were served their food at roughly the same time, hot and delicious.

In summary, do yourself a favor and book Riverside and some of their preferred vendors for your next event. You will not regret it!

***We had Riverside do a brunch the day after our wedding for our out of town guests, and it was delicious! Such a nice, relaxing way to get some more time with your friends/family.

My husband and I got married at Riverside Receptions this past June and we can't say enough great things about the venue and staff! First of all, Amy, Frances, and Jessica were a pleasure to work with. We met with them on a few occasions throughout the wedding planning process and they were always so helpful (answered our many questions, gave vendor recommendations, etc.). We didn't hire a wedding planner so having staff there day of to set up and take down was a huge weight lifted off our shoulders and when we met with Amy we knew we were in good hands. The staff was very attentive to our guests the entire night, the food was delicious (we received many compliments) and the outdoor space was great for taking beautiful scenic photos! We are so thankful for the Riverside staff for helping us from the start of the planning process to when the very last guest left on our wedding night. They even boxed up our leftover late night pizza to take with us to the bar next door. They are truly awesome! If we could give 10 stars we would :)

The staff at Riverside Receptions made my dreams come true in every way; thank you so much to Amy, Jessica, and Neal, (and my now husband, Andrew, of course) for the best day of my life. I’m writing this review and posting it everywhere I can so that other brides can have the wedding of their dreams too; I recommend the Riverside in every way.

From start to finish, booking a wedding at the Riverside is a joy. When we first toured the Riverside, I knew I needed to have my wedding there. I was looking for my inspiration words – romantic, whimsical, elegant, historical – and the Riverside was a perfect fit and more. The venue and the people impressed me right off the bat. In every room, the venue is unique and has so much character. We loved the fireplaces, the mantles, and the opportunity to decorate them so that the wedding was full of our love and personalities. The views from the windows are also a GORGEOUS backdrop for a wedding. Amy and Jessica, who showed us around, were so kind and helpful; I was in love with the venue almost as much as my now husband.

After booking at the Riverside, everything was a breeze. The tasting event that we attended helped us choose our meals – DEFINITELY recommend the chicken. It is not your average chicken; it is decadent, flavorful, and delicious. I also recommend the New York Strip Steak with boursin mashed potatoes - YUM.

In addition to the tasting event, we also enjoyed all correspondence with Amy. Communication was easy and she was so helpful and patient with questions we had. I cannot compliment her enough; she is truly a pro at weddings and is an absolute joy to work with and be around.

When it came time for the rehearsal at the Riverside, everything ran smoothly. Big thanks to Amy and Jessica for helping coordinate our group and my sassy grandma 😊.

On the day, we were so happy and we were not at all disappointed. Amy and Jessica made sure everything we worked so tirelessly to plan went off without a hitch. They were on top of everything! My ceremony was so romantic and sweet and well-organized; they made sure of it! They made sure everyone had the right cue into the ceremony, the string trio was given their cues, and that the LEGO props were given to the bridal party as they entered into the reception (to Everything is Awesome!). At night, Neal took over for the reception and was an absolutely wonderful help coordinating the different details of the night: making sure the parents were enjoying themselves, ensuring the bride/groom had what they needed, and helping to clean up and organize the huge amount of décor we brought with us (we rented a U-Haul…I went a little overboard but it was so worth it). The security gentleman Louis was also a treat! I enjoyed some brief chats with him. Really, the entire staff – bartenders, waiters, waitresses, everyone did a FANTASTIC job and guests have not stopped complimenting the kindness of the staff. Also, THE FOOD. It was even more delicious than I remembered from the tasting event. The appetizers were a hit (everyone loved the charcuterie table!), the sweets table was AWESOME and the late night snacks (pizza and wings) were amazing. We honestly wish the Riverside delivered pizza regularly – it was that good…and we’re pizza people who live in Chicago. Lastly, the VENUE itself was just perfect. We had 160 guests and rented both floors (downstairs ceremony and happy hour, upstairs reception) and it was so, so lovely. Everyone had a blast and it was a perfect day.

Future brides and grooms, I speak the truth here: the Riverside really has everything – indoor space if you have weather concerns, a picturesque outdoor space, two floors with twinkle lights on the windows, a big dance floor, DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS catering, and a staff that works so hard to make a perfect day.

When I was searching for wedding venues, I knew I wanted something intimate and unique that we could have the ceremony & reception. When I first saw Riverside, I instantly fell in love!! Additionally, I had found a venue that provides food, beverage, tables, linens, & chairs, which lowered our costs tremendously! Although this was an all inclusive wedding venue, Amy was extremely flexible and allowed us to schedule the day & set up the venue as we wanted. Neil, our venue coordinator was AMAZING on the day of. He basically was a day of coordinator -- he helped set up centerpieces, search for a sewing kit, and communicated with other vendors when necessary. All of the staff were friendly and helpful during the event; the bartenders were even coming up and asking if there was anything we needed! I couldn't recommend Riverside enough!!!

Riverside Receptions was the perfect venue for our wedding! We initially booked one year out, but after some consideration moved the date an additional year. Riverside was more than accommodating and made the process easy. Through wedding planning all of the staff were very easy to contact. They addressed all of our needs. When we got closer to the wedding they were even better. It was record high temperatures the day of our wedding, but fortunately for us no one had booked the bottom floor so we were able to move our wedding ceremony inside for no additional cost! It saved many trips to the ER and was more than beautiful. It was also a relief to not have to worry about center pieces or decorations. For the additional personal decorations, the venue took all of our decorations and set everything up the day of. I did not have to do anything! It was such a relief to just have to get ready and have our venue perfect. We also suggest getting the vegetarian option for one of the plates! The butternut squash ravioli was honestly one of the best pastas I have ever eaten. All of the food got raving reviews as well from our guests. We cannot thank Riverside Receptions enough for the perfect day! We truly recommend this venue!

Riverside offered a great package with even better service. They made sure we didn't have to lift a finger the day of the wedding! Incredibly pleased with our venue and would highly recommend to others looking for a beautiful location and accommodating staff!

I got married at Riverside on Sunday, May 27, 2018. I can't say enough good about these people! I worked with Frances, Tina and Neal and all of them were so accommodating and kind! Riverside Receptions has been wonderful to work with so far. The wedding is in 2 months and we have been so impressed with everyone at Riverside Receptions. Looking forward to a wonderful wedding for our daughter!

We held our wedding reception at Riverside Receptions in June 2017. We were extremely happy with our experience from beginning to end! Everyone in their office is friendly, helpful, and genuinely wants you to have the event of your dreams. We were looking for a venue with gorgeous views, delicious food, and a price point that we could afford. Riverside Receptions delivered on all accounts!
We reserved the second floor for our reception with the floor to ceiling panoramic windows overlooking the Fox River. THE VIEW IS SPECTACULAR! We fell in love with the view immediately and our guests are still talking about how picturesque the venue was.
As a bride on a budget, I greatly appreciated that Riverside offered us the option to use one of their birdcages for cards, their cake server, and a variety of centerpiece options. This was a big deal for me because I wanted beautiful décor, but I did not want to store 18 lanterns after the wedding was over. We used their lanterns and floating candles as part of our centerpieces.
We primarily worked with Frances throughout our wedding planning process. Frances is very knowledgeable about the wedding industry and was happy to answer all of our questions. She was amazing!

We had our wedding here back in September and absolutely loved it! Riverside Receptions is such a beautiful venue! From the beginning of planning with Riverside, the staff were so helpful and quick in getting back with emails or phone calls. They gave a folder of informaiton and a timeline/checklist for when we needed to get things done. That was so helpful! We worked a lot with Amy and she was great to work with! Also the minimums were very reasonable compared to other places in the area that we looked at. It made paying for the wedding that we wanted, so much easier.

The food tasting gave us a great sense of their delicious food and the food was just as great (possibly better) on the wedding day. All of our guest loved the food! It was very helpful to us that Riverside also included the cake in the price (they work with The Cakery) and that cake was delicious too!

We had our ceremony outside but had the reasurance that we could be inside given the weather (and no additional charge either!). This was a huge relief and we ended up having the ceremony in their beautiful courtyard. Everything during the reception went smoothly and the staff were so great.

This was the perfect venue for us; from how great the staff were through the planning and the actual wedding, to the food, to the decor. I still can't get over how beautiful it all was and our pictures our gorgous!

We are completely thrilled we chose Riverside for our wedding reception. We worked mostly with Frances, but anyone on their sales team was available at any time to answer our questions. We had a larger guest list, so we booked the upstairs area for our Friday night wedding. Riverside could not have done a better job, they were attentive, extremely helpful with any questions I had, and the "night of manager" even worked hard to figure out an issue with our florist that they technically shouldn't have had to worry about. I had a specific vision for our reception and the staff was able to accommodate our every request, from the drink list to decorations and table layout. The food was great, we picked, NY Strip, Chicken and Salmon for our guests as entrees, with several butler passed hors d'oeuvres, and a table of additional appetizers. Our only food compliant was the Tomato Basil soup... it tasted like marinara sauce instead of a traditional cream based soup. But out of everything, that is the one and only complaint. Book with Riverside Receptions, whichever level you book (or both) you will not be disappointed with the outstanding service, quality, food and view of the location.

Our daughter Amanda and her fiancé Derek got married at Riverside receptions on September 9, 2016. Francis and all the staff went way out of their way to make their wedding and stunning . The food was amazing it was and just wedding food if you know what I mean and the cake was delicious ! I highly highly recommend riverside receptions for someone who wants a one of a kind and beautiful wedding venue ! Even though it is going on their first year my husband and I still reminisce about the beautiful wedding day you gave her ! Thank you again for all your kindness and support we will never forget you. Riverside Receptions was the perfect choice for us! From our first conversations with Riverside staff it was clear their customer service was exceptional. Every visit, phone call, and email with Amy, Janelle, Frances, and Tina was received with cheerfulness and professionalism. They were incredibly responsive, and followed through on every detail we requested in the planning process.
We had about 150 guests (from a guest list of about 205) and used the second floor space. All details were arranged perfectly prior to our guests' arrival. Amy introduced us to her assistant dining staff supervisor promptly so we knew who our point of contact was throughout the evening for any requests--none needed since everything was perfect! They pride themselves on ensuring only two tables are served by 1 waiter which means very attentive service throughout the night. The food was delicious with great portion sizes and a nice presentation (we also enjoyed the lovely tasting they arrange for their couples and up to 4 guests in the months leading to the wedding date). The view of the river is what makes Riverside so iconic in the area but all other details offer beautiful rustic, classic charm.
The pricing for our size of event was very reasonable in the Chicagoland area. We were happy that Riverside had many preferred partner vendors such as the Cakery. This helped everything go smoothly as these vendors collaborate often, and helped us save. Another key feature is that Riverside is a "one stop shop" providing in-house service staff, tables, chairs, linens, and china, etc. -- no need to hunt down piecemeal vendors. And the space has a big dance floor!
Riverside Receptions will forever be a special place to us. Thank you so much for making our night exactly what we hoped for and providing a great experience for our guests on the River!

My husband and I could not be happier with how our wedding turned out - everything was handled extremely professionally, from first booking to the final moments of our day. The staff patiently listened to all of my instructions and special requests, and decorated exactly the way we envisioned everything to look. Amy was our day of coordinator, and was seriously a life saver - she is so professional, calming and kind, and helped us all stay on track. Without her guidance, I would have been a nervous wreck! She never made us feel rushed or like she didn't have time for us, and she genuinely cared about every detail. The food was also INCREDIBLE!! Both my husband and I are allergic to peanuts, and had a few other dietary requests for our wedding guests - Amy handled these flawlessly and made special accommodations for us. We got so many compliments on the food - it was unforgettable. Thank you Riverside for giving us the best day of our lives!!!

I don't think I can find the words to explain how perfect this venue was and is. You know how you go to weddings and its just wedding food? This place. Man. Everyone talked about how amazing the food was and it WAS!! Frances was amazing and our day was perfect. It is a unique and quaint venue and perfect for our style. We got married 1-7-17 and asked that they keep up the winter/Christmas decorations and it was beyond beautiful. This was the only venue we looked at and we knew we wanted to get married there! After that everything just fell into place! So picturesque, perfect, professional, accommodating and amazing food. Loved our special day and would do it exactly the same!

Great location for our ceremony and reception. The staff took care of everything and made sure we were able to utilize all of our minimum since we had a small event. Food was excellent; facility was perfect! And great location in downtown Geneva.

Frances and Riverside Receptions did a wonderful job on our wedding. We had our ceremony downstairs with cocktail hour following and then the reception upstairs and everything went wonderfully. The staff was very attentive all throughout the night. The food was wonderful and I received so many compliments on the Boursin mashed potatoes (they are a must!). RIverside also was able to set up a TV in the upstairs bar so that the Cubs game could be played for our guests. Everything went so smoothly at Riverside, I did NOT have to worry about one thing; I would recommend this venue to anyone!

I had big dreams of a city wedding, but after looking into over two dozen venues unsuccessfully, I had hit a breaking point. That's when a friend suggested a few places and there was one on the list I had never heard of -- Riverside Receptions. After visiting the venue, my fiance and I were in love.

The views were gorgeous and the venue itself has a lot of personality and charm. The staff runs a tight ship and several of our guests complimented on not only how good the food was, but also how great and speedy the service was. Everyone at Riverside was easy to work with and made sure our day went off without a hitch.

The other perk to this venue as opposed to others we looked at was that SO MUCH was included. Not only are the caterers on site, but the cake and centerpieces were handled by the venue as well, so the number of vendors we had to coordinate with was much more manageable.

Now that our wedding has come and gone, I could not be happier to have had my wedding in Geneva, IL. While not a big Chicago wedding, it was more affordable, more charming, less expensive, and such a great space. Plus, Geneva is a great place for weddings; the perfect getaway for friends in the city, and a charming location for suburban and out-of-town guests.

We had our wedding at Riverside this past weekend and it was amazing in every way! The service was exceptional. Frances and Tina were a joy to work with. They were extremely organized and made everything look beautiful. It was more than I could have asked for!

We could not have asked for a better experience with Riverside Receptions!!! They took all the stress of planning out of the process and we knew we were in good hands from the start! When I walked into the room on our wedding day, it was beyond perfect and so magical! Frances treated our day as if it were her own, she made the process of turning the space into our own so easy. THANK YOU Riverside for being the best venue EVER! :)

From start to finish Riverside was amazing. Great communication and willingness. The food was great, not just your typical blah banquet food, it was delicious. The decor turned out beautiful and the head person, Francis, was there to make sure everything was perfect. Weddings are pricey but Riverside was reasonable and we got every dollars worth.

Riverside is a gorgeous setting and the people who work there are very helpful. My wedding is booked for October 15th 2017 and I couldn't be more excited. Very happy and I have only heard good things from everyone who has used them that I know.

Riverside was absolutely amazing to work with and did a fantastic job! The venue is gorgeous and has a great rustic feel with exposed stone and a beautiful view of the Fox River. We had compliments all night about the look of the venue. On top of that, their food was fabulous! I had multiple people come up and say that it was the best wedding food they have had. Riverside was great to work with during the planning process as well as the day of. Naomi was great during the day and would handle anything that would come up wonderfully! Tina and Frances were great to work with beforehand. I do not regret our decision to have our wedding there at all!

I love Riverside! I can not begin to express how happy I am that we had our wedding here. It was SO beautiful and I am still receiving compliments weeks later. I knew as soon as I walked in that this was the place! We had our ceremony outside in the courtyard, cocktails downstairs, and the reception upstairs. I worked with Frances and she was wonderful! She is very prompt in her responses and super helpful, and she totally understands how stressful life is the week before! She's just a pure professional and you know you can trust her right away.

I think I looked at around 20 venues in the suburbs before Riverside, and I thought Riverside had the best value of anything I saw!

Our guests LOVED the food. Multiple guests said it was the best wedding food they have ever had! We did the petit filet and chicken breasts for all guest, so they didn't get a choice. The service was great! Very friendly and prompt.

Our reception coordinator, Norma, was WONDERFUL! She was so helpful and had everything packed up and ready to go at the end of the night (champagne flutes, top of cake, etc). Everything was on time, and there was no awkward time when guests were waiting for anything to be ready. The entire day went very smoothly and I couldn't be happier, I absolutely loved my wedding!

One word describes my experience with Riverside Receptions and all the people associated with Riverside--AWESOME! My wedding was this past June 2015 and I booked Riverside over a year in advance. I had both my wedding outside in the courtyard with the reception immediately following the ceremony. The minute we walked into the building we knew this was the place! Everyone we met and dealt with at Riverside was great. Frances our sales/event planner / Chef Amy / Norma our day of manager were amazing. These ladies are the ultimate pros and will make sure your party is the best party ever. All the people working our reception were friendly and quick. True professionals.
The venue is beautiful. River view, spacious and the courtyard is perfect for a wedding ceremony. This is not your typical wedding hall. You will not be disappointed. The food is amazing--Best wedding dinner ever- is the comment we heard from our guests. The day/night was stress free at Riverside. Everything was perfect. My husband and I got married at Riverside last Sunday and it was amazing! I love the charm and character riverside has and everyone who worked there was amazing. We had a brunch wedding and have gotten so many compliments on the venue and how great the food and staff was. We couldn't have asked for a better day!

We had both our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception at Riverside Receptions and it was a great experience. Not only is it a beautiful venue, but everything went perfectly. Everything from planning the details to the night of the wedding was easy and went smoothly. Everyone that I interacted with was kind, patient, professional and very helpful. They listened to what I wanted for the day of the wedding and everything from the decor to the food was just as good if not better than I had planned. The ceremony site was set up perfectly, everything flowed very smoothly from the ceremony to the cocktail hour, to the reception. The food and cake was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend Riverside Receptions to anyone.

THIS ONE IS WORTH A VISIT TRUST ME! Riverside receptions in Geneva, IL was the venue for our wedding ceremony and reception. I can not say enough great things about the staff or the amazing experience we had here. I found out about this place from one of my best friends who got married two years earlier, she did not book this place, but she had mentioned it was her second pick. At first I could not find much on it, they do not seem to advertise much and the pictures online do not give this beautiful venue justice. However since a close friend recommended it I reluctantly went in for a visit.....as soon as I saw the back of the building I fell in LOVE. This was the place I wanted to get married! I would describe it as a vintage/cottage feel, very warm and the entire back of the building is floor to ceiling windows which overlook the Fox river. Its the perfect place for that outside feel while having the comforts of an inside venue. The staff is wonderful, they were extremely accomidating to our every wish. The only restriction they had was they do only allow the bar to be open for more than 4.5 hours (which we have a party group and this was more than enough time) and they don't do multi-shot drinks or shots in general. Overall, we had the perfect wedding day experience and the food was awesome! No dry/dull wedding food here! We had more than a handful of guest comment that this was the best food they have EVER had at a wedding. But don't take my word for it, check it out!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Riverside Receptions and it was amazing. This was the one & only venue we actually looked at, but we loved it and we didn't want to look anywhere else. We liked the brick walls, the floor to ceiling windows, the Fox River being in the background, just everything about it. We chose the lower level because of the access to the outdoor patio overlooking the river, which our guests used a lot. We worked with a few different people throughout the planning process and everyone was so helpful and easy to work with. We worked with Tina & Norma on the actual day and we can't thank them enough for everything they did. They made sure everything would work out and that we wouldn't have to worry about a thing on the day of our wedding. All of the staff that night was wonderful and so friendly. Also, there was another wedding on the upper level and we didn't even notice! It was the perfect day. We are so grateful to have had such great vendors. We would love to come back and have another party here.

We were married at Riverside in October 2014 and were so happy with everything. From our first look at the venue to our initial meeting to the planning process to the day itself, everything ran smoothly and went off so well. We mostly worked with Frances who was so friendly and easy to communicate with and had so many great ideas while also being very open to our suggestions. Everyone we ever spoke to was so accommodating and friendly from the little requests and changes to the big ones. Norma, who ran our wedding in the evening, did such a great job too.

The venue itself is gorgeous – the lower level has a great classic feel and the upper level has floor to ceiling windows with an amazing view of the river outside. The dance floor is right by the window creating a great atmosphere. We had a two long tables in front of the window for the bridal party and then my bride and I had a circle table in the center, but there were a few options. It was a great setup. We got married outside which looked beautiful too. It’s just a very classy looking place. The view and setup were a big part of our decision, so we were pleased with how easy the staff was to work with too.

There’s plenty of parking and having a hotel across the street was really convenient. There’s also a bar close by which was perfect for after-party festivities. The food was delicious too, from the appetizers all the way up to the main course. They also do this great presentation as the food comes out for the bridal party – I felt like we were at Downton Abbey or something.

There are plenty of great photo options outside too. Everyone we spoke with had a blast and specifically complemented the venue – the setting, the staff, and the food especially. I can’t say enough good things; this wedding wasn’t very stressful to plan and having a responsive, professional, beautiful venue played a big part in that.

Riverside Receptions was a beautiful venue for our fall wedding. It has such character and charm. Inside and out. The staff was very accommodating. It was an amazing place to have our wedding just as we had pictured it.

Riverside is very affordable and is a great value. The scenery is beautiful and the building is historic and located in a historic downtown west of Chicago. The planning and execution of our wedding reception was very professional and I had full trust that everything would go exactly as we had specified.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! We had the lower level because we loved the charm and feel of the old stone and brick and the beautiful wood bar. We had a smaller wedding of about 100 people so the area was perfect size for people to move around. The bar is separated from the room where the dancing was and most people tended to gather in the bar area but we expected that. The staff placed everything exactly where we discussed and also made sure to gather everything to take home at the end of the night. The food was fantastic! Even though we regretfully didn't get to eat much since it was hectic like most bride and grooms. Wish we had thought to set some aside for us! Kathy was so nice and helpful in all the decision making and plans. I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone!

The kind and professional folks at Riverside made our wedding amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful but the staff makes the day extra special by ensuring that everything goes smoothly. All expenses were included in the price of the plate, there were no hidden fees, and they even provide the bride and groom with a wedding planner for the day. You can be sure that the price they quote you will be the price they charge you in the end.

We had a fantastic time working with Riverside. Everything was clean and beautiful. We had our ceremony as well as reception with them and everything went smoothly. We just had the downstairs, there was another event upstairs, but we couldn't even tell. All of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food as well as how much fun they had. Everyone we worked with there was pleasent and helpful. They were even nice enough to plant a few extra flowers out front the day before our wedding (separate from the service that usually landscapes the area) since we had such a late start to spring, it really helped to add some life to the outdoor area.

We received nothing but compliments on how wonderful Riverside was. They were so helpful in planning our wedding, and everything turned out better than we could have planned. The food was great and their prices were also very reasonable. We have a lot of family with food allergies and they were extremely accommodating!

The venue is absolutely beautiful. I was looking for a place that had a rustic or brick look, a place that the pictures will have a beautiful background. We came to see this place and immediately I fell in love. They were so helpful with everything. They have two floors we chose the bottom floor because I liked the fact that there were different parts of the floor as opposed to the one large room. The bar room was open with extra seating and the room where we ate has brick floors and walls. We had our ceremony in the venue and it was lovely. They set up the chairs facing the wall that had trestles and candles against the brick wall.

The food was great, they accommodated the vegans at the wedding which was very awesome. We also got the cupcakes made there in their bakery, I had a friend who said they were some of the best cupcakes they have had. I got SO many compliments on the food. They said it was great food, and not great food for a buffet, but great food! They set up and broke down everything.

Last but not least. The service was incredible. I was helped by Tina with everything from contracts to the day before. And (I believe her name was) Norma (kicking myself for my bad memory) helped me the day of with EVERYTHING! She helped me when I locked myself out of the bridal suite, helped with the vegan cake cup presentation, and she even helped with the precession.

Everything was perfect, I couldn't ask for anything more honestly. I am so thankful for all the help I received and how well the entire thing turned out.

Riverside is beautiful and was the perfect venue for my wedding. I loved the privacy of a wedding at a reception center instead of a public place like a hotel. The location is fabulous too - right across from the lovely Herrington Inn (you need to stay at this hotel!), down the street from many cute Geneva bars and restaurants, and right on the river where there are paths and parks and beautiful scenery.

I really appreciate how Frances worked with my wedding planner and I to go through all the details of my event. She was very flexible about decor and other special requests I had. Everyone I spoke to here was friendly and knowledgeable. The chef is amazing and so friendly! All of the food and drink attendants were fun and professional during my reception.

We had our ceremony outside in the courtyard. It was absolutely stunning with the trees changing and my flowers out and Riverside's chivari chairs. The weather was gorgeous for us, but if it hadn't been, we had a backup space inside where we would have had the ceremony. No stress!

I am confident that there is not a location in any nearby area where I would have rather gotten married. It was perfect. My wedding planner (based in downtown Chicago) was amazed by the low prices of a suburbs wedding :)

The floor to ceiling windows showcasing the scenic Fox River creates and amazing ambiance that needs no additional decoration. The food was 5 star! Riverside Receptions was a great place to have our wedding reception. They had re done all the windows to make them floor to ceiling a few months before our wedding and it looks beautiful. It is located right on the river and was a gorgeous back drop for our wedding pictures. Everyone who works there was very accommodating and very helpful in answering all of our questions. The food, services, and every thing was included in our package, and we were able to incorporate our center pieces that I made. After the wedding I have heard only great comments from family and friends about the delicious food and great atmosphere.

I am so glad we decided on Riverside as our reception site! I have been working with them almost a year on my wedding and everyone I've dealt with was very professional and always had an answer to my questions. The food at the wedding was unbelievable! Everyone loved it! The servers were so kind and did anything and everything they could to make our night a wonderful experience!

Riverside Receptions was an amazing venue for our wedding. The location and venue itself (we were on the lower level) were gorgeous--right off the Fox River. In addition, the staff was great and you are able to work directly with a staff member who helps to coordinate everything. The food was also excellent; all of our guests were raving. I cannot think of enough kind words to say about this venue. We stumbled upon their website by chance. My moh, mom and I took one tour and that made up our minds. In fact, Riverside had all of the features that I wanted in a venue including atmosphere, menu selection and a wonderful staff. Our guests are still giving us complements on Riverside. I primarily worked with Frances and she is such a wonderful woman. The element of my wedding celebration that I am most proud of is Riverside Receptions. They really set the standard for weddings.

We worked with Kathy and Frances (Frances for the day of the wedding and booking of venue) at Riverside Receptions. Both ladies were very courteous and honest with everything. Whenever my fiance or I had a question or concern about something and brought it to them, they would get back to us promptly and sincerely. Not once was I upset with the way anything was done through them. We had a Sunday wedding Oct. 2, 2011, and included with the venue was the cake, full-service catering, open bar optional, food tasting for up to 6 people, and a night's stay at the Herrington the night of our wedding for my new husband and I (Which was incredible, might I add.). Then, they also include things like table centerpieces and linens if you don't want to pay extra to bring your own. They work with you and your ideas to help make your wedding custom to you. The day of our wedding, I had some girlfriends that really wanted to help us go to Riverside an hour early to see if they needed to set up any decorations before guests started arriving. Not only did they come early but so did my fiance. They all said when they got there, all our decorations were up and ready. Frances set everything up ahead of time and my friends walked over to the Dam Bar for snacks since they were really early. In our opinion, our wedding couldn't have gone more smoothly, and the brick and limestone in and outside the venue made for breath-taking photos and scenery along with the riverside views. We used the first floor for everything and had 100 guests. It was the perfect size and everyone had a fantastic time! I highly recommend them. Our planning process was virtually stress-free. No kidding. They also did our catering. We did the Chicken and petit Filet with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans, and it was all cooked to perfection! If my dress wasn't so tight on my stomach and I wasn't so excited, I would've cleared my whole plate like everyone else did. :D

The service far exceeded our expectations. The staff was very attentive to all our needs. The view of the river was beautiful with flowers and decorations highlighting the area. The ceremony was held in the courtyard which was also decorated amazingly. Everyone that attended was very complimentary of Riverside reception and some already started planning on having events there.

Riverside Receptions is a beautiful venue to have a wedding. They are right on the fox river so you will be able to take beautiful pictures. We had our wedding in the lower level room and it was everything we could have ever wanted. Riverside's wedding coordinators and staff were all wonderful to work with. They set up our unique ceremony without any issues. Everything was seemless. They dont charge you for linens, they do all the center peices and they even include the cake in your package! Love them!

What a perfect place to get married. From the minute I walked into Riverside I knew this was the place I wanted to get married. The view of the river is absolutely gorgeous! We got married in July - we had the ceremony and reception at Riverside.

Staff: Everyone is so nice. I had many different conversations with the staff there and each of them was helpful, patient and good advice to give. The day of, I had someone running the ceremony making sure everything went smooth. The staff decorated the place perfectly. The dinner staff were excellent. They take great care of the bridal party.

Food: Let me just say people are still making comments on our food. We had fruit, the strawberry walnut salad and stuffed pork chops. Everyone loved it. many even made comments like "wasnt really sure about the salad but when I tried it, it was delicious!"

We are one of the last friends to get married and let me tell you how great it feels when many of them tell us, that was the best wedding they've ever been to. I'm sure part of it was the fun we provided but it wouldnt have been so perfect if we didnt chose Riverside!

We had a winter wedding at Riverside and it was so beautiful I didn't realize how gorgeous it was there at dusk until the day of our wedding and it absolutely blew me away. Everyone was so nice and accommodating to us and our guests. The food was amazing! Many of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they had ever eaten. This place is the hidden gem of Geneva. The views are fantastic and the downstairs has such charm and elegance, it is completely unrivaled. Their costs are extremely reasonable too. Much better then 90% of other places we looked at in the area. I highly suggest anyone who has their wedding here also participate in the Geneva Bridal walk. It was great having most of our vendors in the same area. I would highly recommend this as a reception venue to anyone getting married.

WOW!!!!!!!! This place was perfect. We had our ceremony there as well as the reception. The entire staff was SO helpful and flexible that it took so much stress off of us. The view is gorgeous and the food is great. The wait staff was wonderful and fun. The did exactly what we had asked them to do PLUS more. I would highly recommend this venue.

When we walked into our wedding reception, the room looked more beautiful than we ever imagined. The staff took care of all of the decorative set up and did exactly what we asked them to do. The food was delicious, and many of our guests commented about the view, the food, and the decor. We were very happy and very impressed!

I had an evening wedding with about 100 guests and Riverside Receptions was perfect! Tina Drzonek gave me a vision of a candle light ceremony with the reception in the River Room and it was absolutely beautiful. Riverside was able accomodate all my special requests (of which I did have a few) and the entire event went off without a single problem. I would recommend Riverside Receptions to anyone wanting to have a romantic, classic wedding and/or reception.

The Riverside met all of my expectations. They were easy to work with and very responsive to my questions. We had our ceremony in the courtyard followed by the reception in the upstairs room. Everything flowed perfectly. We never even knew there was another reception downstairs. The food was delicious and the staff was very helpful. The courtyard ceremony was set up just like I wanted. The room for the reception was beautiful. Our food was delicious and the whole event was perfect.

The Riverside Receptions was amazing! Even better than I had remembered. I originally did not want to have my wedding here, but after a little coersion by some very wise females in my family, decided to give it a try and do a tour, when I was in town for my wedding planning weekend. It could not have turned out better. It was the perfect venue for my small wedding. They were extremely flexible, and just perfect. All of the girls who helped me with my planning were amazing. Even if I talked to two different women in one day, they always knew what was going on. There's great communication! The day of was amazing. I don't think I had to answer more than two questions, and everything was perfect! Ask for Jorge for your Event Management. He's wonderful. He made sure my husband and I were taken care of all evening!

The staff at Riverside was incredible! They took care of every detail for us, even some of the things we didn't think of. The location is beautifully unique and rustic, less like a generic banquet hall, which provided the charm and character we wanted. And the food was delicious, large portions (try the stuffed pork chop-yum!). They were also very willing to customize the menu for us, even letting us choose a soup that wasn't offered on their standard menu. The perfect place for a reception!

What a beautiful place, so much charm, romantic and eleganance! We were married downstairs, following the ceremony was a cocktail hour with appetizers for our guests in the bar area (with a beautiful wood bar) while we took photos. Then the evening moved to dinner in the River Room, overlooking the Fox River. The room was stunning! We served Chicken Wellington, roasted potates and green bean almondine. All the food was exquisite and our guests just raved about it! Our wedding cake (which was included as part of the reception) was from The Cakery in North Aurora. We chose a white cake with strawberry filling and a butter cream frosting. So many guests commented on how very elegant and tasty is was. We danced the night away. Everyone had a wonderful time and can’t stop talking about it! So many people have told me that our wedding was the best and most elegant wedding they have ever been to. I would highly recommend Riverside Receptions to anyone looking to have a wedding or event! We had a wonderful time and the staff was superb! The staff made us feel like royalty, my wedding would not have been as wonderful as it was. Everything exceeded all my expectations for our wedding. Thank You!

We just fell in love with the location of Riverside. You cannot find a more beautiful setting next to the dam on the Fox River in Geneva. We booked immediately after finding this place. The staff was very helpful and flexible. They set up all of our centerpieces and really made the night run so smoothly. The food is just awesome. We really wish we could have had all of their food, it was so hard to pick. Everything was so delicious. The cake was provided to us at no additional charge from the Cakery. We were worried that we would not get what we wanted out of the cake because of this but found that we had many options to chose from. We ended up going with a different color but only paid $35 out of our pocket for that. We would recommend this locations to everyone. It is just so beautiful and really you get so much for your money at this place. Plus you are not stuck behind 4 walls with no outside view. We were in the River Room downstairs and the moon was coming up behind us through the glass. Not to mention that later that evening we had the Kane County Cougars fireworks in the background. Good photo opportunities! Everything was just perfect!

I had my wedding at Riverside and it was an absolutely beautiful site for a wedding!! The courtyard is so charming, and to be right on the river was amazing! The prices are almost too good to be true! The food is amazing! All of the staff aim to please! They were all very friendly, helpful, and flexible! It didn't take long to get a tour, consultation, book the date, or set up the tastings. I highly recommend riverside for a wedding venue! Lots of hotels nearby as an added bonus!

Riverside was absolutely FABULOUS! They worked with me every step of the way, and bent over backwards for me for no extra cost. They set up my centerpieces for me, got me the wine that I wanted, and the food was incredible. The location is stunning (looking right out over the river), and there are tons of places for great photos. I highly recommend them to anyone! If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

The rooms looked beautiful! We were married upstairs in the Tapestry Room overlooking the Fox River. We had perfect timing as it started to snow just as our ceremony started . . . what a beautiful site!

Following the ceremony was a cocktail hour for our guests while we took photos. Our guests headed down to the bar area (with a beautiful wood bar) and enjoyed delicious appetizers such as Phyllo with Baked Brie and Raspberry, Stuffed Mushrooms, and Scallop wrapped in Bacon. They even brought some up to the wedding party during photos.

Then the evening moved to dinner in the River Room, again overlooking the Fox River. The room was stunning! We started off with Cream of Roasted Red Pepper Soup. Then enjoyed the Riverside Salad (Bibb Lettuce with Strawberries and White Cheddar with a Smoked Mushroom Vinaigrette Dressing). Dinner was a choice between Roasted Rack of Lamb with Duchess Potatoes and Roasted Root Vegetables or Petit Filet & Chicken Breast with Horseradish Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans Provencal. All the food was exquisite and our guest still talk about it (more than a year later)!

Our wedding cake (which was included as part of the reception) was from The Cakery in North Aurora. We chose a white cake with hazelnut filling and a butter cream frosting. It was as beautiful as it was delicious. We have ordered the same cake from them many times since. Along with the delicious cake we had the Queen’s Sweets Table . . . what a great selection of treats! They were enjoyed by all.

We finished off the evening in yet another room . . . we danced the night away in the Mill Room. It was wonderful to have the evening move from room to room. It made it feel more like home. Everyone had a wonderful time and can’t stop talking about it! It has been over a year now and we still hear how our wedding was the best and most elegant wedding they have ever been to.

I would highly recommend Riverside Receptions to anyone looking to have a wedding or event! We had a wonderful time and the staff was superb! With out Tina and her staff my wedding would not have been as wonderful as it was. Thank You!

The food was wonderful and they helped with almost anything i asked and answered questions right away. They took care of so many of the small little things that helped the day go so well. Amy was the best.

Riverside Receptions was amazing! I had a courtyard ceremony and the lower level for the reception. Everything was beautiful and the planning was a very smooth process. The only thing that I was not pleased with was the rehearsal planning. I would have liked to practice in the actual courtyard but there were two weddings there the night before mine, so I was not able to have my wedding party practice there. Tina did suggest another location for the rehearsal, but it still would have been nice to practice all the way through in the correct location. When it came to my actual wedding Neil was very helpful in filling in all the loose ends during the ceremony. Everything went smoothly and the night was magical. They are flexible and helpful on working on everyone's needs and requests. (We had a last minute kid's meal request and they came through without any fuss.) There may be sticker shock when you first visit but the price is well worth the service and so many "extras" are included. I would recommend this venue to anyone. Just take a tour and you will see why!

This was the first place my husband and I looked at. After visiting I didn't want to check out any others but he insisted we look at one more place.

Everyone at Riverside was a pleasure to work with. I worked mainly with Frances and she came in on her day off to make sure our ceremony went off without a hitch! All of our guest commented on how good the food was. People are used to the normal wedding banquet food. Riverside does not have wedding banquet food. They have delicious food! We also did late night snacks and those were gone about as fast as they came out!

I would highly recommend and suggest having your wedding and reception at Riverside! I'm glad I did!

Riverside Receptions is amazing! They truly make you feel that your wedding day will be wonderful and they do everything to make sure you (and the guests) have the most perfect day. The food was the best we've ever had at a wedding, and the entire staff were all awesome. They made us feel comfortable and ensured we did not worry about a thing.

My fiancé did a lot of the leg work in booking our venue. He first met with a coordinator at Riverside Receptions and was sold. The friendly knowledgeable staff and location along with beautiful courtyard could not be beat. He immediately asked me to visit the hall and it was love at first site. Ironically after booking out wedding there I attended the facility for a bridal walk/show and was reaffirmed in our decision to hold our wedding at the venue. Our friends and family are still raving about the food and I could not have been more pleased with the overall look of the place which made our big day even more special.
Lots of parking and very accommodating to any size party the staff was great at working with us on our wedding budget and providing the best service at every level. From set up, to day of service, to take down, and even day after follow up I was amazed at the detail and great customer service provided by all at Riverside Receptions.

Absolutely amazing. I'd recommend it to anyone!!

We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at Riverside Receptions, and we are so happy with our choice in venue. We had our ceremony outside on the courtyard, and our reception immediately followed on Riverside's first floor. Looking for a wedding venue in the Chicagoland area that was the appropriate size for our 100-person guest list (and not crazy expensive!), was no small feat. Riverside Receptions felt like a hidden gem.

The space itself is beautiful. We loved that we were able to have our ceremony outside...we lucked out with nice weather, and the flowers and landscaping were so bright and summery. We liked that the courtyard was somewhat contained, so it felt like an intimate ceremony despite being on public grounds. Although we did not end up needing it, we were also reassured that there was a decent indoor ceremony option that we could have used in case of bad weather. We also loved that the reception room overlooked the river, and the space itself had a lot of character and charm. We loved the floor-to-ceiling windows, and many of our guests enjoyed spending time on the deck. The space has an outdoor feel, without having to risk planning an entire outdoor reception. There was a wedding going on above us, but noise was not an issue. We found the food portions to be generous, and we really enjoyed our meals.

The staff is also excellent. We primarily worked with Frances and Amy, who were extremely professional, organized, and helpful. They really serve as in-house wedding planners, which means you have no need to hire your own. Amy was a huge help in finalizing our menu, planning and setting up decorations, and she even was there to assist with both our rehearsal and ceremony. She was extremely helpful and reassuring during those final weeks of planning, and we were so happy to work with her.

Overall, we are thrilled that we had our wedding at Riverside Receptions - it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

If you truly want a unique venue, than this is your choice. My husband and I are happy we ended up going with this venue over the others because of the view and the different feel it provided. The food tasting was nice because we were able to try all sorts of foods that are their most popular, taste test the wine and salads. There were many other couples and families there (you can invite 4 other guests with you) which helps you truly see how well they do preparing food for large parties.
I would say the day before the wedding was a little hectic, which I am sure it always is. I did feel like the venue coordinators in charge the day of our rehearsal were only interested in the wedding they had going on that day. First off we had to have our rehearsal pretty early in the day because of the wedding the day before, then we waited around for the coordinator to help us, but then I kept finding her setting up for the other wedding. We had no idea where to start or what the timing should be, and she was surprised by that. Finally she was able to take time away from the other wedding to help us with timing and then our officiator led the rest of the way.
Everything did turn out exactly as described to the coordinator the day of. All of our signs and chair sashes were done amazingly. All of the guests raved at how cool the setting was and everyone enjoyed their food! The waitresses were very helpful and got us whatever we needed the day of which was great.
One thing I would say, is the place would be to tight/enclosed if they had more than 250 people in their venue upstairs. We were getting nervous about space and we only had 200 people attend the wedding. Everything worked out perfectly with our space, but I do feel 250-300 is pushing it with wanting to be comfortable.

We had both our ceremony and reception at Riverside. Leading up to the wedding, everyone was very helpful. They indicated to us that a coordinator was included for the day of. Maybe each of them does it differently depending who is there that day, but nothing was really being coordinated. There was no one there when we cut the cake, no one directing our guests as they arrived to the seats for the ceremony. The wait staff was great though and everyone said the food was excellent. We just wish there was more coordination for us and the vendors, as no one really knew what was going on and we weren't really getting a lot of help. My parents and my husband did all the coordination.

Had our wedding reception there and we loved it! We got lots of compliments! We had guests show up which were not on the seating chart and showed up unannounced and Riverside was more than accommodating to them. There were a few small details which were forgotten, but overall, we were pleased.

The staff was wonderful. They took care of everything for us. We had a themed wedding with a lot going on and they took care of everything. Highly recommend them, and the pricing was very good.

Our wedding was beautiful and everything & everyone was very accommodating. Sometimes there were issues with communication between the two people in the office, but nothing that couldn't be corrected easily. The food was delicious, the view spectacular. I wish the bridal room was larger but not much you can do about that.

Riverside was great! Looking back on our day, there isn't a single thing I would change or was unhappy with. We had our ceremony and reception with them and they were both beautiful. We received many comments from our guests commenting on the great service throughout the evening. Us, our wedding party, and families were waited on hand and foot. The staff is very organized and a pleasure to work with.

The staff were incredibly amenable and easy to work with. The food was very very good, especially for banquet food. They did everything they could to make my day smooth and stress free.

This would have been a perfect review except for three minor things--1. they forgot to put out the gatorade/water (which I had gone over with them the day before and had brought and my wedding planner went over day of), they forgot to put out cake boxes to go (again, went over day before and wedding planner went over day of), and one of their employees (the one who I went over everything with) was a little snippy to our linen consultant, myself, and my MOH. The service and the night was terrific and ultimately, that didn't affect much--except for when I realized at the end of the night that those things weren't done and a few texts messages the day before where everyone was wondering what "that lady's problem was." (who had gone over everything. Cathy and George were fabulous and Chef Amy is a gem to work with--everyone loved the Bananas Foster and her food (I wish I had gotten to eat some but was so busy). I will use Riverside in the future and would recommend to anyone. Just make sure your wedding plan is written out exactly and go over it with George too (because he will do anything to make your night memorable). Our guests keep telling us what an AMAZING wedding it was!

I had my wedding reception here on October 23, 2010. When I first checked out Riverside, I felt that the decor, the carpet, and the drapery were a little dated, but who really looks at those things?!? I loved its charm and what sold me and my now husband were the fireplaces, the stone and brick, and the gorgeous view through the "wall of windows". Our wedding was smaller (about 100 people) so we had it downstairs. When you have your event downstairs, you have the option of using the chivari chairs at NO COST! Most places will charge you to use chivari chairs.

The staff is wonderful and very prompt in returning phone calls or emails. My husband's favorite beer is Coors Light and even though Riverside doesn't normally carry it, they ordered it for our wedding at no extra cost. They set up everything exactly how I wanted it and were very easy going. Frances, Kathy, and George were so nice to work with!

On my wedding night, there were lit candles everywhere which made everything so beautiful and intimate. The room was stunning! We received SO many compliments on how gorgeous the room and the view was. It exceeded my expectations.

The food is wonderful, unique, and higher quality than regular wedding food. We had passed hors d'oeurves during cocktail hour. We did the shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were huge! The chicken teriyaki skewers were delicious (I can't comment on the others because I didn't get to try them). For food we had the chipotle corn chowder and I could've eaten bowls of it! We also had the chef's tossed salad and everyone thought the mustard vinegarette dressing they used was different and delicious. For our entree we had the prosciutto stuffed chicken and we got so many compliments on the chicken! We chose sweet potato wedges as a side and they were a bit salty but everything else was great!

I gave Riverside 4.5 stars for "Value for Cost" because of the salty sweet potato wedges and the liquor. I had never heard of the liquor brands Riverside uses as their house liquor, so you almost have to pay the money to upgrade to have decent liquor. I gave them a 4 for "Flexibility" because I asked for the fireplaces to be on when my guests got there and they weren't. I was told by the General Manager, Tina, that it had something to do with the air conditioning, but the fireplaces were one of the reasons I chose Riverside! I couldn't see why they wouldn't turn them on for at least during cocktail hour.

Overall, Riverside is an awesome venue. I still have friends and family talking about it! Everyone said it was a classy event and I agree!

When we first walked up to the place we kind of doubted the visit, but once we walked in and upstairs to the main room we were sold! The building is an old steel mill that sits right on the Fox River in downtown Geneva. The panoramic view of the river sold us. The building has so much history and character. The food was delicious and hearty; they have a nice seasonal selection of dishes to choose from. We also had our ceremony in the courtyard, which was done very nicely. Everyone we encountered and worked with was very friendly and easy to work with.

The only down side to the venue was whenever we had an appointment we had to walk around and find someone. The only other negative was the day of the wedding, we thought there would be more guidance of our guests after the ceremony, there was no real direction of where guests were to go.

But overall I would recommend this beautiful venue.
