Amazing Ceremony
From our first meeting with Jill, we knew we were in good hands. Jill delivered an incredibly thoughtful and memorable ceremony that was personable and engaging. She was a pleasure to work with and took all of the stress and pressure of the ceremony away. We could not have asked for a more wonderful officiant for our wedding. From the very beginning, she went above and beyond to make sure our ceremony was personal, meaningful, and truly reflective of who we are as a couple. She took the time to get to know us, paid attention to the little details that mattered most, and crafted a ceremony that felt unique and intentional in every way.
What impressed us the most was how she was able to blend our two faith traditions with such respect, grace, and warmth. As a Jewish bride marrying a Catholic groom, it was so important to us that both of our backgrounds were honored. She not only created a seamless and beautiful ceremony, but she made it feel natural and deeply special. Our families and friends commented on how heartfelt and inclusive it was, and how much it felt like “us.”
On our wedding day, she guided us with calm reassurance and made us feel at ease, allowing us to be fully present in the moment. She spoke with genuine joy and compassion, and her words carried such meaning that we will treasure them forever.

Jill is an incredible officiant and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a down-to-earth, comfortable, and present officiant. My wife and I experienced a lot of stress trying to find an officiant and finding Jill was truly meant to be. Our initial phone consultation with her made us feel warm, excited, and like we had known Jill a long time despite it being the first time we spoke to her. She really listened to us and was able to capture the essence of what we were wanting our wedding to be. We had some specific exercises and ideas for our ceremony that Jill absolutely nailed the delivery of. I also appreciated that Jill took the time to get to know us by weaving in personal questionnaires that my wife and I separately completed that really described who we are as individuals and as a couple. Jill was responsive, easy to talk to, and really hyped us up about our ceremony. You can tell she puts 100% effort into the couples she works with. I am forever grateful that she officiated our wedding and the positive memories I have around how she orchestrated our special day. I also received a lot of positive feedback from guests at the wedding who felt she really captured us as a couple and was engaging with her officiating style. -

I HIGHLY recommend Jill for your officiant needs, especially if you’re looking for a custom ceremony. My fiance and I found Jill online 2 months before our wedding, after several “officiants” (we were planning to do a self-uniting license initially) bailed on us, stating they were not able to do the level of individualization we were searching for. Jill was only of the only officiants to call us back and spent 30 minutes on the phone with us as we desperately ran through our needs and hopes for the ceremony on short notice. Jill was incredibly responsive throughout the whole process over email; we even had a few short calls. Our ceremony was experiential and included the audience throughout the ceremony: we did an opening check in with the audience, remembrance for those no longer here, warming of the rings, and a circle of strengths. Jill was able to take our feedback and create a perfectly unique script for each of the above elements. She sent us a script of everything that would be said at the ceremony to review and we were able to make changes and edits until it was worded exactly the way we wanted.
We had **multiple** wedding guests tell us how unique the ceremony was and how clear and communicative Jill was with each element (there was a lot of moving around and audience involvement). I had even added in a surprise element of entering the ceremony with a cape (which was a surprise to most people) and wanted to add in a part to the ceremony to incorporate the cape/taking off the cape. Jill worked with me on the side (this was a secret to my husband) and crafted a beautiful symbol of unity by having me wrap him in the cape once I entered into the ceremony (see picture). Every bit of this ceremony was special, well throughout and cohesive. I highly highly highly recommend Jill to officiate your wedding, especially if you’re looking for a “non traditional” ceremony and especially if you want to incorporate your guests into your ceremony.

Jill was truly the best to work with. We had a lot of fear and stress when picking an officiant who we didn't know personally to marry us. We wanted our ceremony to feel personal and intimate for our loved ones, without any religious influence. Jill immediately made us feel as if we have known her for years. She had us both fill out questionnaires to get to know us better and eventually had us meet at her home. She was prompt, responsive and professional. We got a full copy of our ceremony way in advance so we could edit things to our comfort. When everything was said and done, her ceremony felt as if she has known us for years. We got SO many compliments after. If you are thinking about booking Jill, please do. She is truly the best and clearly loves what she does! -

We recently had the joy of getting married on June 24th, 2023, at Jasna Polana in Princeton, NJ, and our ceremony was truly unforgettable thanks to the amazing Jill Magerman. We can't recommend her highly enough!
From the very first meeting, Jill impressed us with her warmth, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm. Knowing our love story revolved around a train theme, Jill went above and beyond to customize the ceremony perfectly. She incorporated train metaphors beautifully, weaving them into the vows and readings while still maintaining the heart and sanctity of the occasion. It was truly unique and personal, reflecting our love story in a way that deeply touched us and our guests.

It was such a pleasure working with Jill from start to finish. We met with Jill several months before the wedding. She really wanted to get to know us and know our story. We also filled out a detailed questionnaire that really helped shape the ceremony. Jill was extremely personable and we knew right away she would be great and fun to work with. The ceremony was beautifully written- it made us laugh, it made us cry and beautifully depicted our love story. Jill really listened to what we wanted- if we wanted it to be a shorter ceremony or more or less religious, she catered to our requests.
In all, we highly recommend Jill if you are looking for an officiant! -

We had a great experience with Jill. We met her in person at her home prior to hiring her just to chat and get to know her. She had us fill out questionnaires separately about our story and also with questions just to get to know us individually, and then put together a draft of our ceremony with a very fast turnaround. She gave us a lot of ideas on how to make our ceremony unique but not too cheesy - we did a spice unity ritual which fit us very well because we are both foodies, but we had never heard of that before. Our guests loved it! She was very receptive to our comments and in total we had 3 drafts. It was lovely to get to know her and have her as our officiant at our wedding! -

From the first few moments of our phone call with Jill, I knew that she was the celebrant for us. She was warm and funny, truly kind and really listened to what we were looking for in our ceremony. All of our subsequent working sessions were filled with laughter and it was easy to tell that Jill was invested in getting to know us and our story. The wedding ceremony was met with some challenges - mostly in terms of the weather (it hailed in the middle of our outdoor ceremony!) - but Jill rolled with the punches seamlessly and turned what could have been a bit of a situation, into a memorable and amazing experience. We had countless friends and family tell us what an absolutely amazing job she did and how the ceremony was filled with love. It was a joy working with Jill. She is an incredible person and made our day better than I could have ever imagined. -

I met Jill at a Bridal Expo I attended when I first got engaged. I knew the minute I met with Jill that I wanted her to marry us. She was so welcoming and had an awesome personality. I found Jill at a bridal expo that I attended with my mom. Jill performed a mock ceremony with two random guests and demonstrated a hand fasting ceremony which was absolutely beautiful.... it was not even a real wedding yet she had me and my mom in tears! When it came time to decide on an officiant, I knew I wanted Jill! My husband and I had a micro wedding, no reception. The focus of the day was truly the ceremony, and we wanted it to be meaningful, memorable, romantic, and personalized and that is exactly what we got!
Jill is so warm, kind, and personable! She made the process very easy and fun. We responded to a questionnaire that she provided us so that she could truly understand our love story and personalize our ceremony.
She is great at what she does and is very experienced with different traditions. She was able to offer different suggestions for readings and symbolic ceremonies to align with our our style and our beliefs. I would definitely recommend Jill if you want a unique ceremony that is a reflection of you and your partner! -

A Perfectly Personalized Ceremony
Jill was the first vendor we booked, after getting a chance to be part of her demonstration at a local wedding show. Knowing that we were looking for a non-denominational officiant who could still bring in aspects of our respective cultures and traditions, we expected finding an officiant to be difficult, but after only briefly working with Jill, we immediately felt comfortable with her. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about different customs and traditions that we could add to our day, allowing us to choose the ones that felt the most meaningful, but she is also an exceptional listener. Rather than treating us as clients, Jill really took the time to understand and connect with us as people, getting to know us as if we were becoming friends. She is so easy to get along with and a joy to talk to.
On that same vein, we were extremely impressed with how she found the most relevant parts of the information we gave her in our questionnaire and transformed it into an extremely poignant, powerful, and personalized ceremony that truly highlighted what was precious to us as individuals and as a couple. In particular, she made sure our concerns with including our parents in the ceremony were addressed, along with her care with using non-traditional/non-gendered language when it came to referring to us. As a queer couple (one of whom is non-binary) with many queer friends and family members, this was especially important to us, and Jill made it important to her, too.
Jill is also extremely professional. In addition to a perfect ceremony, she ran the rehearsal extremely well in a space that was not our final location (thanks to the weather!), ensuring people knew where they were supposed to be and what they were supposed to be doing. Her communication with us leading up to and during the event was also stellar and really helped us feel as if we were in good hands throughout the entire process - and we were!
So many of our guests expressed to us how beautiful the ceremony was, oftentimes with some surprise that it wasn't your stereotypical boring ceremony. We are grateful to Jill for helping make it poignant, funny, heartfelt, and decidedly not boring. We recommend her to any couple hoping for the same! -

If you are looking for an officiant/celebrant Jill is the one to go with! We could not have asked for anyone better to officiate our wedding ceremony. Jill takes the time to really get to know you as individuals and as a couple. Her wedding ceremonies take into account all the special and important aspects of your relationship and she tailors it include those special aspects. Jill has also been the most supportive when the pandemic hit. After having to rearrange plans, Jill was there ready to do whatever it was possible to make sure we had the perfect wedding ceremony. She made us feel at ease during a difficult situation. Our wedding ceremony was beautiful and really showcased us as a couple. Our family and friends could not stop talking about how beautiful our ceremony was!! We can't wait to have her again at our wedding celebration next year! Do you believe in fate? I sure do, and I know for a fact Jill was meant to officiate our wedding! I met Jill at a bridal show in October of 2019, and we connected immediately. We chatted for a while and realized that we lived in the same town. She was just so nice, with great energy. My wedding was scheduled for July 2020 in Jamaica, and we already had an officiant, but I still kept Jill in my mind because she was just so memorable.
Fast forward to 2020, the pandemic hit. Our wedding was postponed to 2021, but my fiancé and I still wanted to get married. I was so distraught about our wedding getting moved another year, that I decided to do something small and intimate. Then I remembered Jill. I called her one Saturday afternoon, and she spoke with me and even remembered me from the bridal expo! We had a consultation, she learned about our personalities, our likes, and dislikes, and had our whole personalized ceremony drafted within just a few days. Not to mention, the stress of trying to obtain our marriage license during the pandemic, Jill knew the ROW personally, and put in a word to have our paperwork handled in a timely manner.
Jill was so kind to offer her beautiful pergola at her home for the ceremony. She had chairs laid out for our guests, flower petals, and provided most items for our rituals. On July 7, 2020 with 9 of our closest family and friends, we got married. There was a 90% chance of rain that day, and not a drop in sight. Everything was PERFECT.
If you are looking for an officiant, please, look no further. I cannot stress to you enough how phenomenal Jill is. She is flexible, precise, understanding, creative, and fun. I know we met for a reason that rainy October day. Thank you again, Jill! We couldn't have done it without you! -

Very personable wedding officiant
Jill was great! She was very warm and easy to work with. She was incredibly flexible in helping us design a ceremony that we were looking for. She was prompt in responding to all of our emails when it came to actually working on the ceremony script. My wife's very catholic mother who was used to attending weddings in a church said that "it was the best ceremony she had every been to. Because it was personable."
Jill was professional, reliable and accommodating. Would recommend 10/10. -

Coming from families that observe different religions, we were concerned about honoring both of our families and staying true to ourselves. Jill was thorough and had amazing recommendations for us. In the end she let us pick and choose (and write) what worked best for us. Our guests RAVED about our ceremony, and told us it was perfectly encompassing of us as a couple. We hope we can work with Jill again for more life events!!

Kelli Sent on 01/18/2018Jill was absolutely amazing! I searched far and wide for an officiant who was just down-to-earth and made us feel comfortable and Jill exceeds our expectations! I contacted a few companies before I happened upon Jill's profile on Wedding Wire and the other companies made you feel like a number on an assembly line. Jill happened to live close to our house so we got to meet with her in person to introduce ourselves. We ended up spending several hours there discussing our backgrounds, families, pets, hobbies, etc. She's a very warm and inviting person and I was so thrilled she was able to marry us on NYE (12/31/2017). Jill provided us with a questionnaire that both my husband and I had to complete separately so that she could build a ceremony script from our answers. I thought it was a lot of fun to answer questions in secret and wonder what the other one would say/how they would respond. Jill came up with a beautiful script that still makes me cry thinking about it. My husband and I are crazy cat people and she was able to incorporate our fur babies into the script which was a lot of fun. Jill kept our ceremony short, light hearted, sweet and touching which is exactly what we wanted. I think our family and friends really enjoyed it - a lot of them asked us if Jill was a close family friend because of how well she knew us! Jill is responsive, fun, and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend her for any wedding and I hope to keep in touch with her!

Justina Sent on 01/08/2018My husband and I had seen Jill perform a sample handfasting ceremony at an expo we went to at our venue about 6 months before our wedding. We talked to her right after her demonstration, and contacted her shortly after. Her email responses were very quick and professional, and she answered all questions we had, not only regarding the process, but also cleared up any payment questions we had as well. Shortly after establishing a connection via email, we set up a Skype session which was very helpful in getting to know each other face to face, even though we lived too far to make it to her in person during the week. She is very flexible as far as the meetings go. We met with her via Skype once, and then once she felt like she had a good feel for us as a couple, she sent us a questionnaire that my then fiance and I both had to answer separately. The package we chose was the completely customized ceremony. I believe that here is really where you are going to get your money's worth with Jill, because she is one of the most creative people we have ever met. Jill has the capability to perform a traditional ceremony of pretty much any denomination, but she also has the amazing ability to take bits and pieces from different traditions and combine them all into one cohesive and eclectically beautiful ceremony. She used our questionnaire answers as reference for the ceremony script that she created from scratch, which was 100% tailored to us and our own personal love story. She sent us a draft to read and approve, and we were even able to make our notes, take anything out that we didn't like, or add any of our own personal ideas in. It was completely customizable and she was open to all of our ideas. We did meet with her in person once before our wedding which was nice. We had so many compliments on our ceremony and there was not one dry eye in the house! It was emotionally moving and so beautiful, she is just the best to work with!

Not only did she pay careful attention to what my fiance and I were looking for in a ceremony, but she added in sentimental facets and romantic touches, making it more magical than we could have imagined! At one point prior to the ceremony, my fiance privately (and sweetly) remarked to Jill that I was his missing puzzle piece. With that, Jill surprised us with a puzzle that she had made, featuring a picture of a philly landmark that was very special to us. We put the puzzle together and it was missing a piece; as Jill handed us the piece and we placed it in the puzzle, she pronounced us husband and wife.
