Rachel Smith was an absolute joy to work with for both our engagement photos and wedding photos. Although she is based in Maryland, we took our engagement photos in DC and our wedding was a ways out in Virginia, so she is willing to travel to you. I can?t express enough about how professional, charismatic, and easy to work with she was. She was on time and willing to try all the different types of shots I suggested.
Our engagement photos are absolutely fabulous. We had our photos taken around the National Mall near the Reflection Pool, Lincoln, WWI, and WWII Memorials. The late change in the leaves of November this past year made the backdrop to all of our photos amazing. Although we only had an hour to work with her, I think she may have taken around 400 or more photos. She not only captured us but also the beauty of nature surrounding us. I will continue to enjoy these photos for years to come.
Although we have not received all of our wedding photos back yet, the slideshow she provided us and the few photos she sent me for newspaper announcements are fantastic. My husband and I are both down-to-earth realists, but she managed to capture the enchantment of our wedding. I am astonished at how gorgeous the photos are, and am so glad we chose Rachel to be our photographer. We will definitely use her again for future important life events.

Rachel Smith was a very professional, unassuming photographer. I was most pleased with the amount of photos she and her collegue took. They were taking pictures all night! She was punctual and showed up with a smile at both the engagement shoot and on the wedding day itself. The quality of her photos and her creative eye was just what we were looking for.
The only way I know she was actually at the ceremony is because I saw the pictures she took and some friends caught her in some of their pictures. I even had to ask if she took pictures after the ceremony was over...I was definitely NOT focusing on her and she did an outstanding job remaining behind the scenes at the ceremony.
She got some great shots at the reception and really did a great job making the rounds trying to get all guests in photographs. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a photographer. She has a creative eye that catches those shots that go unseen by most people.

I had the opportunity to meet Rachel when she photographed my best friend's wedding. So, I immediately booked her as soon as I had the date for my wedding. She was an absolute pleasure to work with from the very beginning. And she took the most amazing photos of our wedding! It has been almost 4 months since our wedding, and I still can't stop looking at them! Everyone who looks at our photos comments on how beautiful they are. And we had such a good time at our wedding with Rachel, too. She truly is very talented, and we are so grateful for all the little moments she captured. Thanks again Rachel!

Rachel was a pleasure to work with, beginning with our first meeting with her in July 2007. At that time, she showed us samples of her work and helped us find ways we could keep the photography costs within our budget.
On the day of the wedding, she and her assistant were wonderful to work with, friendly and accommodating. All the formal photos were taken ahead of time, so the wedding party wasn't delayed in getting downstairs for lemonade after the service
or to Maggiano's for the reception.
The photos are excellent, a wonderful mix of formal and informal. The church, which is aging and in need of repair, looks fabulous in the photos. Rachel and her assistant brought fun into some of the formal shots and caught the spirit of the wedding, both its blend of traditional and nontraditional and its mix of joyful and more poignant moments.
At the reception, Rachel set up a laptop displaying photos taken earlier in the day.
I can recommend Rachel Smith Photography without reservation.

Rachel was a fantastic photographer for our wedding!! She was flexible with her time and our budget, easy going, comfortable to talk to, and very responsive. The process of interaction throughout our wedding experience was a real pleasure.
Before and during our wedding and reception, Rachel and her assistant managed to capture the most intimate moments, making our collection very personal to our wedding style. I was very happy to see these results. She took photos of us both in a formal style, and of us "in the moment", smiling, laughing, walking. By capturing all of these poses, she made our pictures come alive and this is the most salient aspect of her skill. It made our collection unlike any other I've seen and it will be a real pleasure to view them over and over again!!

Rachel was fantastic. From the very beginning, she was a pleasure to work with. She was always willing to answer our questions, and was flexible when we made changes to the wedding day schedule. At the wedding, Rachel and her colleague were constantly walking around taking pictures, and they managed to cover the event even more thoroughly than we had hoped for. They were always friendly with the guests, but were also able to keep the formal group shots moving efficiently. And the end product was phenomenal. They captured all of the right moments and important little details, giving us a range of incredible pictures, from the classic to the creative. At the same time, Rachel offers an amazing value. We couldn't have been happier.

Rachel was an amazing person to work with. we knew what we wanted in our wedding photos, and she delivered. Not only was she supportive when we needed her on the wedding day, but seamlessly worked through the large crowd of wedding guests to get some really special shots, all while having as much fun as the rest of the folks. We booked Rachel Smith Photography for our wedding outside of Bradford, Pennsylvania. Rachel went above and beyond her contractual duties and my wedding pictures are beautiful!!
