Rachel is amazing. When I first started planning our wedding, someone told me that the photographer wasn't that important...that anyone could take a good picture. I knew she was wrong but Rachel proved it. I know for a fact that no one else can take pictures like Rachel does. I'd seen her work more than a year before I was even engaged and I decided then and there that she was the only person I wanted to photograph our wedding day. I have gotten so many compliments from everyone I (and my mother, haha!) share our photos with. Not only did she photograph our wedding, but she also did our engagement photos too. I know that with Rachel we got the best photos money could pay for...but without paying a fortune. Rachel is flexible, quick to respond, sensitive, and an absolute genius with the camera. To summarize, there are not enough good words to say about her and her work. Come to think of it...maybe that woman was right. Maybe anyone can take a good picture. But for our wedding day, I wasn't settling for good. I wanted BREATHTAKING. And for my wedding day, I wasn't settling for anyone but Rachel.
Thank you Rachel. You mean so much to us, and we will never forget what you gave us. :)

Our photographer was Rachel Smith and she was amazing - absolutely wonderful.....

1) We had 2 photographers for the ceremony and just Rachel for the reception - so all kinds of angles were captured
2) She was super professional and got along with everyone
3) She came up the night before to photograph the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner, which was more of a cocktail party, we invited everyone.
4) She took so many amazing pictures of all the flowers and some great candid shots of us getting ready and during the ceremony and reception.
5) She really captured the moment and the mood of the day and wasn't in the way at all! She stayed in the background and didn't distract at all, but was still there photographing everything! I make a lot of funny faces and laugh a lot, and she got everything!
6) She kept us on schedule since we had a really tight window from the ceremony to the reception and even were done with all the after ceremony photos EARLY and got to the reception on time!
7) She made a mini slideshow of about 100 photos or so about 2 weeks after our wedding so we could see some pictures and tide us over until the rest of the pics were done. The slideshow was a HUGE hit and was a great way to share the wedding with those that coudn't attend.
8) She gave us direction, but didn't make us look cheesy, which was great because she knew what looked best and how to capture it.

She was amazing and I would use her again in a heartbeat. The whole experience from beginning to end was perfect!

If your planning experience is anything like ours was, you are beginning to realize that there are tons of options when it comes to photography. Each one will show you some of their best work and it will all seem very impressive. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to feel out the photographer's intangibles at those initial meetings. And believe you me, the intangibles make the photographer.

If you just take one glance at Rachel's work you will see how talented she is. Our wedding pictures/engagement pictures/Rehearsal Dinner pictures turned out better then we could have ever imagined! She truly has an eye when it comes to lighting, positioning and angles. She’s absolutely amazing! We’ve had so many compliments on how great our pictures are!

To say Rachel is flexible is the understatement of the year. From rescheduling engagement shoots, to standing in the middle of Hurricane Irene just to get the perfect shot, Rachel has NO limits to her flexibility. Rachel also has one of the best personalities in the business. We were both so comfortable with Rachel (which was one of the big reasons we hired her) - and her second shooter Jamie was just as fun and great to work with! Rachel is easy-going, polite, and has a fun attitude that just makes the experience so much better. I hope you take our advice and hire Rachel Smith as your photographer - you will not regret it!

Rachel has been amazing from the beginning. Out of all of the choices you have to make as a bride, photography was the one area where I wanted the best- and Rachel never let me down! She has been very responsive prior to the wedding, even went up a few weeks early to scout our photo sites. She answered all questions promptly and really worked with us to give us the pictures we wanted!

Just last Friday I received one of my very favorite wedding gifts: a little black box from Rachel Smith containing two discs of all our wedding photos!! Upon receiving this exciting treasure, I proceeded to fall into some sort of black hole for the next several hours as I poured over the beauty and detail in each photograph. I couldn't tear myself away from the computer!

Rachel's talent is overwhelmingly evident in every single picture she gave us... and there are hundreds!! She captured my wedding in a beautiful manner that not only reflected the style of the event, but also the love and relationship between my husband and me. Rachel has allowed us to remember our wedding in a "picture perfect" way :)

I'm sure it is different for every bride, but my wedding flew by and I felt like there were parts of it I didn't get to see or experience. When I started looking through our wedding photos I realized Rachel had been there when I couldn't and had captured all the perfect moments of the night forever! Looking through her photos is like watching a story unfold... each picture carries so much emotion and reflects the intense beauty of a wedding. The pictures document such an amazing evening!

To speak on Rachel's professionalism, I could not have been more pleased with how helpful she was! We planned a wedding in Maryland from Memphis, but Rachel was easy to reach via email and easily calmed any nervousness I had about planning a destination wedding. She guided my husband and I through the process of preparing for wedding photos, and was there with every step of the way on the day of. She is kind, knowledgeable, patient, and creative!

To close, I would highly recommend Rachel Smith Photography! Rachel has a persistent energy, creativity, and talent that culminate in her ability to capture images that disclose the true beauty of their subjects. She sees things through an artistic eye and looks for ways to highlight the natural splendor of things (as a bride, it was important to avoid those unflattering angles and double chins... :) and she did just that!). Rachel was so amazing. We have the most amazing engagement and wedding photos. She was so easy to work with and made us feel so comfortable. We are definitely a fun loving couple that likes to have a good time and I can tell you we had a great time doing our photos with her. She brought a second photographer who was just as fun as she was and gave us beautiful pictures of the guys as well. Photographs were the most important aspect of our wedding and Rachel did not disappoint. From the first time I met her I knew her organization and personality were going to be such an asset to our wedding. I love Rachel and the wonderful photos she was able to provide. I would like to thank Rachel, and her second shooter, Jaimie, for doing a fantastic job during my recent wedding, April 23, 2011. Rachel was extremely professional, friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. I agree with another reviewer in that doing an engagement session really helps to prepare for wedding day pictures. I thought posing for pictures was easy and boy was I wrong. By doing the engagement shoot a few weeks before the wedding it helped us to relax and determine the types of poses we liked best.
As for the wedding day, I could not have asked for a better photographer. Rachel was prompt and started things off right away while I continued to get dressed. Having a second shooter was a great idea and I highly recommend it. She worked with the guys and got all their pictures out of the way early. She also worked with my now husband to have all his family shots done early. She then continued to take shots of the wedding venue and ballrooms.
I worked with Rachel to do my individual, bridal party, and family shots. Everything went perfect and I really feel that we fit everything in!
Rachel and Jaimie worked together to take all the combined family and bridal party pictures, pictures of my husband and I, and all party pictures. I feel all the shots were creative and I have no doubt they turned out great.

Rachel was AMAZING! She took our engagement photos as wlel as our wedding photos and she was amazing. She rounded up my family, had great ideas, took great shots, and chose a great assistant. I am so happy with her and I can't wait to see our photos!

My husband previous employer hired Rachel for there events so even though we got married in Northern Virginia, he convinced me to go to Baltimore to meet with her. I am 100% glad I did! Rachel is great! She is super friendly and easy to get along with. I highly recommend doing an engagement shoot with her too! It helped us get a feel for how she works and allowed us to be more comfortable with her on our wedding day! She was great with my 15 month old niece as our flower girl and our dog as our ring bearer! I asked for an extra photographer and she brought along Brian. He was just as amazing!

All we have seen is the slideshow she made for us two weeks after our wedding. She told us to expect the pictures at the two month mark and we are anxiously awaiting them! I have no doubt they will be just as amazing as the few we have already seen!

So I haven't seen all my wedding pictures but from the ones I have seen in our highlight video I LOVE them ! Rachel did an absolute wonderful job of capturing our special day and moments. She is really flexible and was willing to work with us on our idea when it came to the wedding and our engagement pictures. She is a really nice person to top it off who really wants to take care of her customers and is willing to go the extra mile to do so. I thought her prices were fair and I appreciate all of her hard work and cooperation ! I would recommend Rachel to anyone looking for a great photographer !

We LOVED working with Rachel, she was amazing and our pictures are beautiful! The day of the wedding was so hectic and Rachel and her 2nd photographer helped to make us feel calm and at ease, which went above and beyond. I love the idea of the 2nd photographer and I think that our day went more smoothly with two photographers, which is something that you don’t get with a lot of other photographers without paying an arm and a leg. The wedding party as well as many of the guests raved about the professionalism and the all around great attitude of both photographers. Everyone who has seen the wedding picture slideshow that Rachel makes available shortly after the wedding has been in awe of the beauty of her pictures. There is such a wide array of photos, with candid snapshots of the guests, beautiful shots of the surroundings and great photos of the wedding party. We cannot say enough about how great of a photographer Rachel was. Leading up to the day she was organized and helpful. When our DJ had to cancel a few months before our event, it was Rachel who recommended a great replacement. Her experience was obvious and her professionalism was unmatched this is all in addition to the more than reasonable pricing. The day of the wedding she couldn’t have been more accommodating, helpful, or friendly. The pictures are phenomenal! She managed a huge crowd of sometimes rambunctious guests, made sure to get all of the posed photos we requested and tons of candids that really captured our day. The photos she took are a true reflection of the best day of our lives.

It was a joy and pleasure to work with Rachel Smith for my wedding photography in June of 2010. We felt very natural and comfortable with Rachel yielding just beautiful formal photos, many with a slight twist that Rachel's quick eye was able to catch. Neither my husband nor I remembered being photographed the entire night, a true testiment to Rachel's professionalism and skill in capturing wonderful moments without intruding on our beautiful day. We chose Rachel as our wedding photograoher soley based on her excellent wedding wire reviews. Here is another one to add to the list! Rachel and her assistant, Wendy, were calm and great at getting the pictures we wanted. Some formal shots and some candid ones - they worked well together and even managed to keep my mom in line as she used to be a wedding photographer and wanted much input. Rachel was great at listening to what we wanted and making that happen.

I've been in and at weddings were the photographers were so obnoxious and annoying. Not the case here, we barely noticed Rachel druing the ceremony and at the recpetion. Before she left she came and asked me if there was anything else I wanted her to capture, which was great.

I would highly suggest to brides to see your groom beforehad to get a lot of the pictues done before the ceremony. It helped calm both of our nerves and Rachel set up a special 'revealing' moment where we saw each other alone for the first time. These are my favorite pictues of the entire wedding. It was nice to have the first time we see each other just be us - it was very special.

Oh yeah, and the pictures she took were amazing - eveyone keeps commenting on them! You will not be disappointed with Rachel as your wedding photographer.

Rachel was WONDERFUL! She was nice and easy going and great to work with at the initial meeting, engagement session, and actual wedding. Plus, most importantly, the pictures she took are gorgeous. She took a good mix of creative and traditional pictures. She really listened to what we wanted and made sure to capture all of the important moments of the night. We are SOOO happy that we hired Rachel - you would be lucky to have her!
