  The perfect choice!

  Abby did an incredible job as our DJ, from the earliest stages of planning, all the way to the day of our wedding when she kept our guests dancing until the very last song! We had initially found her through a friend of a friend’s recommendation and I’m so glad that we did, because she really turned out to be the perfect choice for us. I was blown away by how thorough and thoughtful her process of getting to know us was, and was really impressed with how clear and accurate a sense of our music taste she managed to piece together while still keeping it fully danceable.
  
  For those of you preparing ahead for the inevitable stress of planning your wedding, know this: Abby is an absolute professional. Once she has all of her questions on timing and tech answered, you will not need to worry about her again. She hit all our queues when she needed to, always had our microphones where they needed to be and at the right volume, and this bears repeating, absolutely killed it keeping people dancing and having fun. Major bonus points: she had great suggestions for our reception tent setup and she even jumped in and helped manage our quick rehearsal with the wedding party before the ceremony, because we didn’t have a planner or coordinator. Her years of experience doing weddings was invaluable.

  Everyone loved the music!

  Music was one of our top priorities and Abby and Tom delivered! Everyone was dancing all night and raved about the music after. They are so awesome, relaxed, and so quick to respond and really open about our music preferences (and also added their own recos). Abby also is the perfect emcee - totally not cheesy. I can not recommend them enough.

  Cannot recommend Abby & Tom enough.. nearly ALL our guests were on the dance floor the entire night, and a huge number of them made it a point to tell us either that night or later about how much they loved the music. These people ranged from our friends in their 20s/30s to family members and older family friends with vastly different tastes than ours. It wasn't like there was "something for everyone" (meaning everyone got to hear 1-2 songs they liked) but instead the music was everything for everyone...!
  
  Beyond that, Abby and Tom met up with us a few weeks before the wedding just to talk music, and by doing so, they completely nailed our taste on the night of our wedding. They played all the songs we asked for, and chose others based on their huge knowledge of what falls into our musical tastes and is also great for dancing.
  
  AND beyond that, they are kind, super responsive, and really easy to work with. They even kindly helped us out in a few extra ways with no charge.
  
  Book them - book them early (I know two other friends who missed out on them and regret it) - and you will not regret it.

  My husband and I both are really into music and we were really nervous about picking a DJ but Play Something Good were awesome. Abby and Tom are a great team. They consulted with us on our music choices and played the best set list we could ask for. I honestly kept saying to myself during the wedding "I love this song". Our wedding photographer commented that he had never seen so many people rush the dance floor like they did at our wedding. We could not be happier with our choice to work with them on our wedding. They were so great and professional, always approaching and asking me first when wedding guests want to take the mic (this is really important because people do this). More importantly everyone danced all night until the very end and this was because the music was so good you just couldn't NOT dance.

  My daughter picked Play Something Good for her wedding which just took place. I know she is super picky about her music and she spent a lot of time relating exactly what songs and type of music she wanted. And that is exactly what was played at the wedding and it was a HUGE success. The dance floor was full from the minute the music started until the very last song. All the guests, young and old, couldn't stop dancing. I've been to a lot of weddings and some good ones, too, but nothing like ours. I have never seen so many people having so much fun the entire time! Good music makes the party. Thank you, Play Something Good, for providing the best!

  My husband and I used Abby and Tom for our wedding and it was one of the best choices we made in our lives (sounds like an exaggeration but its entirely true). We originally were going to just use an ipod, then we decided to hire an amateur DJ friend... and finally decided last minute to book them after we read their reviews and we feel so unbelievably lucky that we stumbled across them. The entire night everyone kept commenting on the music selection- numerous people told us the music was the best they had ever heard at a wedding... they played such amazing music that my husbands grandmother, who can barely walk, was dancing. Everyone danced all night long, everyone teared up at how powerful some of the songs were- they incorporated all the music we are into (which we discussed over a very detailed meeting about all the music we like and dislike!). They are subtle in their announcements and aren't over the top entertainers at all- they let the music move things along, and they definitely know how to read a crowd. On top of all of this, they are such sweet, wonderful people with beautiful souls and wonderful marriage advice (if you ask!). They earned every single penny, and them some. We have so much gratitude for all their hard work.

  Despite not really knowing how to pick a DJ based on conversations, we interviewed several. We knew we wanted music that was tailored to our tastes, minimal cheesiness, a good party, etc. However, we weren't really sure what else we were looking for or how to distinguish between DJs. Once we talked to Play Something Good, our decision was obvious. They were the first DJs to research the venue in advance and reach out to the venue directly to determine what additional equipment would be needed. I was initially concerned about the size of the venue and the acoustic challenges. It sounds odd, but one reason we went with Play Something Good is that they were concerned too. While most DJs we talked to brushed off our concerns, Play Something Good was focused on making sure everything would work out in advance. They are very professional and they do their homework! They made us totally comfortable and confident that the day (or at least the music) would run smoothly.
  
  We worked with Abby, and she was phenomenal. She was willing to work around our crazy schedules, and she spent a lot of time with us patiently going through our musical tastes - even reminding us of songs and genres we had forgotten about. She is both professional and warm, and she made our lives during the wedding planning process sooooo much easier!!!
  
  On the day of the wedding, Abby managed to use our guidance and preferences and play music that had everyone up dancing. She did a great job reading both us and the crowd. We had so many guests tell us how great the music and the DJ were! She totally nailed it. :)

  Abby and Tom just get it. They take the time to get to know you, what music and vibe you want, and create an amazing dance party. We had a full sit down dinner and then a three hour dance party. We were a bit worried that people would get tired of dancing for so long without splitting the time up, but Abby and Tom kept our guests dancing the whole night. They more than delivered. We did not miss having a band at all. We also didn't want a formal MC to host the evening, so we asked Abby to introduce the speeches. She was unobtrusive and did a fantastic job. We would use Abby and Tom for any event that we plan in the future.

  Tom and Abby were professional and delivered beyond what we could imagine. They took the time to understand what we really wanted for our non-traditional format and executed and cared about it. They added a level of energy to help make a great party even better and were applauded after the final song played.

  From the moment we met Abby and Tom of Play Something Good, we knew we had made the right choice. We needed someone that had a wide range of music knowledge, to play songs that would appeal to a wide age range of guests, and they have it! There was one thing I kept saying over and over, which was that I wanted a party. If you're looking for music that will keep people up on the dance floor (and I mean all night long, up on the dance floor), they are a fantastic pair. They work off of each other and really get to know what you like and what you would like to hear. More importantly though, they work off of the feel of the guests, and read the crowd, and seamlessly mix in and out of genres and decades.
  They are as vocal or as non-vocal as you would like (which for us was important). They also did a wonderful job with our ceremony procession music- extending and shortening songs as needed in the moment.
  I have not stopped receiving compliments about how amazing our DJs are. And when it comes down to it, they are absolutely FANTASTIC DJs, (and we're lucky they do weddings!) they have wonderful personalities, and we can not wait to hear/see them again.

  Many of our wedding guests said that the music at our wedding was the best they had ever heard! Abby and Tom did a great job of listening to what we like and supplementing with songs and artists we didn't think of. They read the crowd and we had an awesome dance party!!   Tom and Abby were the BEST. I am a dj myself, so it was difficult to find someone I trusted to DJ MY wedding, but Tom did a fantastic job. So glad we went with them. They were flexible and very helpful while we planned and kept the Indians and Jews on the dance floor together all night long. They are not your average wedding DJs! Highly recommended!

  Abby and Tom were terrific DJs that blended our unique (and diverse) musical tastes into a seemless playlist that provided the perfect background for our wedding, from the first dance through the dance party at the end. Highly recommended and were great to work with from the first day we contacted them.

  These guys were perfect. There isn't much more I can say about them.
  
  My family was really worried when we told them that we decided to go with a DJ instead of a band. When the wedding was over no one was second guessing me and my wife any more.

  We used them because our friends used them the summer before, at their wedding where everyone jumped up from their seats when the dancing started and did not sit down the whole reception. We hoped for the same thing. We got it. They trekked up the coast of Maine for our wedding. They played for the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing and into the night.
  
  One of our friends, a musician, said to us after the wedding, "They played it perfectly. The energy just got higher and higher throughout the evening. I have never experienced that at a wedding." (He has two brother in laws who were married in Maine who had DJ's.)
  
  PS I am not a person who writes positive reviews. I am a negative reviewer only, but they have moved me away from my negative ways.

  Since music plays an important role in my life, I was fairly anxious about finding the right DJ for our wedding. Many of my friends were in bands through college and my best man has been a producer and casual DJ.
  
  My anxiety was compounded by the fact that our event was not in our native NY, but in Maine. I had nightmares of cheesy wedding DJs in tuxedo vests. Needless to say, finding a DJ that I could trust was high on my list of to do's once we found a venue and set a date.
  
  After searching for a few weeks, I came across Abby and Tom in NY Magazine. After checking out their site and reading some reviews I was excited that they might be a fit. My only concern was figuring out if they were available. I sent a note and got a response within an hour or two from them and a sense of calm set in. We talked by phone and I emailed with a few of their references. Everyone sung their praises. When we met in person they were super great to work with.
  
  When it came to the wedding day, they couldn't have been more professional. They worked with us to find the right mix of the music that worked for us AND our guests. Everyone danced way more than I would have thought and they knew how to read the crowd to keep things upbeat.

  Abby and Tom were awesome! They took the time to meet with us to get a good understanding of what my husband and I envisioned for our wedding. They had a lot of great recommendations too. Overall, they are the perfect combination of professionalism and fun. Our dance floor was packed from the beginning to the end!

The mixes were inventive and smooth. It was obvious to everyone that the DJ had many years of club experience. Play Something Good was one of the first vendors to show up at the venue and the last to leave.
  
  Our dance floor was packed until the very last minute.
  Some of our guests were DJ's themselves and huge music fans, all of them were in awe of the selection, the style, the mixing and the ease with which it was all executed.

  Abby and Tom were very professional and uncommonly proactive throughout our correspondence and on the day of our wedding. In particular, they often took the initiative to contact us and keep us on track regarding our music planning. As for the music that they provided, it was a huge hit with all of our guests and provided the perfect atmosphere for our event.

  Choosing a DJ for our wedding was really tough for us - we both love music and wanted someone who could pack the dance floor, but also play songs that reflected our tastes. We might have pulled together some thorough playlists for cocktail hour, which Abby dutifully followed, but the dance floor was her own design and it was incredible. Her partner ended up joining her. She had said she would

However it would have been good to know beforehand (hence my slightly smaller professionalism rating). Overall, it worked out great and we had a blast. The worst part was when it was all over.   We made such a great decision when we chose Play Something Good to be the djs at our wedding. They were talented, were really interested in playing the music that we wanted, and were excellent at mixing songs.
