  My husband and I had our wedding at Altadena Town & Country Club in June 2016. Our venue had a package that included a cake from one of five bakeries. My coworker raved about Pastries by Nancy so we decided to do our taste test there first. Shawn was very accommodating and patient with us. He let us look through the different photo books for ideas and then came out with four cake flavors. We fell in love with the white cake with Bavarian cream. We were amazed how light the cake was and how delicious the cream was. We signed our contract with them on the spot. The cake was delivered on time and our guests enjoyed every bit of it.

  We are so glad Pastries by Nancy was part of my venue's package. At the Altadena Town & Country Club open house, we only like the cake by them. And I've tasted so many wedding cakes, and seriously their cake is the best in the business! . Sean the owner is super nice and patient, he let us take our time tasting the cake and chat over our thoughts. Honestly my husband and I chatted so long cause we can't decide which flavor to go with because ALL of the flavors were delicious and the fresh buttercream is irresistible! In the end we went with the marble and added fresh strawberries in the cake and it's so heavenly, all our guest loved our cake as much as we did!

  GORGEOUS WEDDING CAKE!!! I am so thankful I found Nancys pastries.. and Sean the owner is wonderful !!. I must have gone to ten cake tastings and none of the cakes tasted any good and the service at the tasting was horrible. Then we went to Nancys and everything tasted amazing!!! He gave us huge slices in all flavors and even a cup of coffee that was super amazing.. He took his time with us and explained everything and answered all of our questions. I brought a picture of a cake i wanted and he said they would be able to do it and even deliver on easter since my wedding was easter day and they didnt even charge us more holidays which other places were. I didnt have any problem getting in touch with him after ordering the cake he responded promptly to all my calls or questions. The day of the wedding the cake arrived on time to the venue and the cake looked FABULOUS!!. It was perfect exactly like the picture I had given him !!! I got sooo many compliments on how beautiful the cake was and how delicious it was!! Everyone was telling me they loved the wedding cake soo much . I was extremely happy that Sean gave me the most beautiful wedding cake and it was perfect exactly what I wanted !! I couldnt be happier and I cant wait for my next even that I need a cake i will definitely come back to Nancys!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH SEAN AND NANCYS PASTRIES!!!

  We have nothing but good things to say about Pastries by Nancy. A wedding cake is important and we made a great choice by hiring them. We received great customer service. The cake was delivered on time and it was beautiful. Most of all, it tasted great. We had one layer of red velvet and two layers of chocolate cake with fresh strawberries and buttercream icing. Our guests asked us "why wasn't there more cake?" We definitely recommend Pastries by Nancy for any event, but especially a wedding.

  Everyone loved the cake! The cake came out beautiful, and it didn't need the help of that inedible fondant that many bakeries rely on now to give it that solid put together look. Our guests told me how delicious it was. Many even had seconds. Thank you Shawn for delivering on the cake we wanted. You did not disappoint.

  I LOVED my wedding cake! it was really really delicious! when we were doing the cake tasting, we knew it is the place to go to for our cake. I went with my husband and my sister , we ate everything from the plate. Thats how good the cake tasted! highly recommend! Sean was also really helpful with our cake tasting process and he is really easy to work with as well. Very exprienced staff team! good work!

  Our wedding cake came with our package provided by Altadena Town and Country Club. My husband and I went to Pastries by Nancy for our first and last cake tasting because we were happy with what Shawn provided for us. Our cake tasting consisted of a huge platter with a slice of vanilla, chocolate, marble, lemon cream, red velvet, and some fresh fruit (if you want fresh fruit with your wedding cake, it is extra). My husband and I immediately were drawn to the lemon cream and marble cake.
  
  As far as designs go, Shawn has a few books with photos of cakes of different designs. Make sure you clarify which cake designs are included with the package and which are extra. The more intricate the design, the more likely there will be an extra charge to it. Luckily, my husband and I like the simpler design anyway, so it worked out. We just needed to get the blue ribbon to Shawn to put around each tier. Also, Shawn is a tell-it-like-it-is kind of guy, which I liked because he kept it real. He didn't use a sales consultation on me and even encouraged me to try different bakeries. I can see how his attitude might be off putting to some people, but I like his candidness and honesty.
  
  On the day of the wedding, the cake was delivered on time. The Altadena staff were great with making sure it was put at the right place without distracting from the wedding. The cake looked amazing! I put my bouquet on the cake table, which added a nice decorative touch to it.
  
  As for the taste, I had so many guests ask where I got the cake from. Some people were even trying to get 2 slices because they liked it that much! I definitely recommend this bakery!

  Pastries by Nancy provided our wedding cake and we had a wonderful experience. The cake tasting was fun and choosing a flavor was easy. The design was beautiful and many of our guests told us it was the best wedding cake they had ever tasted. There wasn’t one piece leftover! Thank you so much!! Dawn and Jim

  Our venue’s package has two bakeries they contract with and we visited both. We had a far better experience with Pasties by Nancy. The cake was really good and the presentation was top notch. We went with a 3 tiered cake (Red velvet, marble ad lemon). All our guests loved the cake and even non-cake eaters expressed how good and moist the cake was. We will be purchasing future cakes from this bakery – I just wish they could re-open a Whittier store.

We went for a tasting and we knew our wedding cake would be beautiful, affordable and best of all, tasty. Pastries by Nancy were approachable, easy to work with, and very reliable. The cake was delicious! Our guests really enjoyed the cake and so did we! We highly recommend Pastries by Nancy for your wedding or event cake. They had beautiful samples at their business in Altadena, CA and their prices are very affordable. You'll get quality cake for a comfortable price. Our cake was absolutely magnificent.

  When my now husband and I first went for a cake tasting at another bakery, we had a horrible experience. Because we were in the area, I called up Pastries by Nancy (a preferred vendor of our venue), and asked if we could come in for an impromptu cake tasting. To my surprise, Sean obliged and allowed us to come in.
  
  The experience was wonderful! Sean was so nice, and he had everything set up perfectly and explained what everything was and how it should taste. We really wanted to try the carrot cake, but because it isn't a normal wedding cake, they didn't have any available for our tasting. When I told Sean, he said he'd call me later in the week so I could come pick some up. When I came by later in the week, he gave us a whole top tier of a carrot cake FOR FREE! It was excellent! I took it immediately to my now husbands work, and because it was so big, we allowed some of his coworkers to have some. They all loved it, and after tasting it, we knew we had to have it!
  
  Sean decorated the cake exactly how we wanted, and it was delivered and set up without any problems. It looked beautiful and tasted even better! It is the best carrot cake I've ever had, and the best part is that they don't only do wedding cakes, so we can order a fresh carrot cake on our anniversary every year after this!
  
  I would recommend Pastries by Nancy to all future brides and grooms!

  This bakery is really great. We priced alot of places for our wedding cake and were floored by how expensive wedding cakes actually were. Especially when you end up paying per slice. This place was very reasonable in price and the quality cake was really good. I have to admit the lemon with raspberry was really delicious, even though it wasn't my first choice in flavors. From now on this will be the spot to order all my cakes for any special occasion that's coming up. I can't wait to order our anniversary cake!!!

  We loved our cake!! Even though the day of I only had one bite of cake, I knew it was delicious! Our guests went on and on about how good the cake was! When I went cake tasting, I knew right away I had to have the white cake, with barvarian cream filling with fresh strawberries! It was to die for!! Even a few days later ( after it had been frozen) when I got our top cake (to save until 1 year anni) the frosting was still delicious! It is all freshly made there at the bakery! Great quality and your guests will love it!!! I highly recommend this bakery for any cake needs!!

  From the very begining we fell in love with the little shop in Altadena. The cake tasting was a great experience for my husband and I, very friendly and knowlegeable on cakes a flavors that work well together. The cake for our wedding was a vanilla sponge cake with custard cream filling and one layer of added fresh strawberries. It turned out to be the most mouthwatering piece of desert that I have ever had - simple put, the cake was Amazing! We saved the top teir to serve to our close friends and family as we opened our gifts on Sunday, and everyone couldn't get enough. Highly recomended.

My wife and I went to see just two of the 4 listed and Shawn was by far the easiest to work with. Night and day between the two, the other bakery was kind of like, "We are busy, we only do a certain number of cakes, you have to bring us your cake topper, and u have to drop off the cake stand back to us after your wedding, you pick three flavors to sample." Where as Shawn was the complete opposite.   we ordered white cake with bavarian cream filling. The cake was great. I'm still getting comments from guest on how good the cake was. The staff was patient, curtious and helpful. I'm definately using them for all future events and planning on ordering the same cake for our 1st anniversary.

I cannot look or taste another wedding cake again without comparing it (and having it coming up short) to our cake from Pastries by Nancy.

  All I got to say is that my cake was delicious!!! I got the vanilla cake with bavarian cream and it was so moist and not overly sweet. Asians usually don't like wedding cakes but they loved mine. Even a week after my wedding, the cake was still moist and delicious! I am so happy that they were one of the contracted vendors through my venue.

  We worked with Shawn to get the perfect wedding cake. We visited about 4 bakeries before selecting this vendor. The cake was actually very good, and it also looked beautiful. We found them via the venue. We had less flexibility since we worked via the venue but our experience was great.

DANG THATS A GOOD CAKE........ Then my wife says, my goodness it really is...... as far as the price it was included in our package with caterer but i definitely would have paid top dollar. and it looked stunning........

  Sean is the cake man and does a great job with cake quality. This is not your place if you want to get an over-the-top fondant cake. He emphasizes taste and quality over theatrics. He has all the usual flavors, vanilla, chocolate, marble, lemon, carrot, and red velvet and ices with mostly bavarian cream.
