Amazing band
Band of Gold Atlanta is AMAZING!!! I highly recommend the band for a perfect sound, excellent service, professional and awesome time! They are so wonderful. Kris is the greatest guy who leads the band and made my daughters wedding just wonderful! 😊😊😊 -

The wedding band will make or break your reception and Band of Gold MADE IT just THAT MUCH BETTER
Hands down, best vendor decision we made. Band of Gold knew exactly what they were doing as far as getting the crowd to the dance floor and keeping the party going. Received sooooo many compliments from people of all ages just so excited they felt involved and welcomed to the dance floor all night long. They were fabulous! -

Perfect Wedding Band!
band for dinner/reception in Covington, Ga. and they absolutely made our wedding incredible. The venue staff said they'd never seen that many people on the dance floor for that long! Kris was always super responsive and a joy to work with. We had some common musical tastes and he even had the band learn a song on my behalf as a surprise. Just an awesome experience all around - book these guys for your wedding and thank me later! -

Kris was an excellent DJ!
We hired Kris as our wedding DJ and he did an excellent job. I wanted our wedding to be a very classy affair and he did a great job at keeping all the songs fun, danceable, and clean. Would recommend in a heartbeat. -

Book This Band ASAP!!!
The Band of Gold is the real deal. I spent days looking at bands, comparing prices and watching YouTube videos when I wish someone had just told me how good these guys are from the beginning. They played their hearts out for our wedding and every guest (and most importantly my new wife) were blown away by how great the sound. They learned a few new songs for our wedding and they knocked them all out of the park (including "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" for our first dance). Their price was among the most competitive I found as well and completely worth the value we received. Kris was really easy to work with and made sure that every little thing was taken care of. These guys are the real deal. Book them today! -

Book them! When other bands were to afraid to take on our non-amplified reception, this band stepped up with enthusiasm to do something outside the box. Kris was really helpful at figuring out all the specifics and had a variety of unique instruments to choose from...we had a dobro and mandolin at our party. We had a 5 member band with a female singer, which is something I really, really wanted. BoG was able to play music we like that maybe isn't traditional at weddings (kind of folk/blues kind of stuff) but then played classics everyone knew the words to and got our people that are usually quite reserved and not much for dancing on the dance floor. We've received so many compliments from all different age groups on this band. One great thing about acoustic is that it's still loud enough to dance to, but you can be in the same room as the music and have a conversation, at least if it's Band of Gold. Didn't know that before bc I'd never been to an acoustic reception. Seriously, get in touch with Kris, book Band of Gold. -

This band was amazing! They played at my daughters wedding and the dance floor was full the entire night. Their sound is amazing and they know how to select the songs that fit the crowd. Kris was so easy to work with. There wasn't once that I tried to call or get in touch with him that I didn't hear back from him before the day was over. -

You must book this band! My guests complimented this band more than anything else at my wedding. They played great music, they're versatile, and professional. They even let my husband play the drums for one of the last songs of the night; Band of Gold really helped make our night unforgettable. -

Wow! Absolutely amazing! Kris and Band of Gold were one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! So many of our guests commented multiple times on how perfect the band was. My husband and I are constantly reminiscing about how much fun we had at the reception. Kris was so easy to work with and responded to my emails very quickly. The best part was the band learning a song that my husband had written for me and surprising him by playing it as our first dance song. That moment was so beautiful and so perfect. It was such a blessing to have them be a part of that special moment. The musicians are so talented and the singers are amazing. I could write for hours on how much we loved Band of Gold! You will not be disappointed with them!!! -

I loved working with Terrilyn! She is an amazing photographer and did a great job at my wedding. She captured many priceless moments at the beautiful Vines Mansion. Her incredible work ethic and great attitude made it very easy to work with her. I definitely recommend her services to anyone in need of a photographer.

We couldn't be more happy with our choosing of Band of Gold for our wedding reception. They came from Atlanta to perform in Charleston and they rocked our world for nearly 6 hours. They kept everyone on the dance floor and made the party a memorable one. Their sound is amazing but what I enjoyed most about them is how great they were to work with. They are such great guys/and gal and Kris pulls everything together and is exceptional at running the business side of things. You can spend $6-$8k on a band for your wedding or you can pay half and let these guys blow all of them away. Thanks again Band of Gold! You rocked it! -

I cannot say enough positive words about this band!!! Our guests are still raving about how awesome they were and are planning to go see them live at their next public show! The dance floor was packed all night and we couldn't be happier. Kris and his band are the nicest people and can ROCK a wedding! They play a great mix of older and newer songs, plus the lighting and ambiance they provide is top notch (something I really wasn't even expecting!). Band of Gold played our ceremony music during our wedding and their 5-piece band played during our wedding reception. Band of Gold was so easy to work with before our wedding and really seemed to care about our vision. They are so flexible and really take the time to create a perfect song list for each personal event. They have many options of DJ, band, and ceremony music, and they also have an extensive list of songs from many decades. We chose Band of Gold after hearing them play at a friend's wedding and knew we had to book them as well. They kept our guests on the dance floor the whole night and everyone had a blast. We would definitely recommend Band of Gold to others and we would use them again in the future! -

I'm writing this review nine months after the wedding, but we still haven't stopped talking about how great the music was. Kris and his crew did a fantastic job, including learning 2 or 3 new songs just for our wedding that I specifically requested. I would say to anyone considering them, definitely go with Band of Gold! Band of Gold was everything we could have hoped for in a band for our daughter's wedding reception. They corresponded with us several times before the wedding to make sure that they knew the type of music we preferred and any special song requests we had. They discussed setup, lighting, etc., with us several weeks before the event. Kris made sure that we sent a list of the wedding parties' names so that he would be sure to pronounce them correctly when he announced the wedding party at the reception. Music was perfect--easy listening during dinner with dance music afterwards that got everyone on the floor and kept the party lively and fun for all--great musicians and singers. We had many compliments on the band after the wedding. After communicating with Kris, I felt confident that the band was one item I did not have to worry about for the evening. I would use them again and would recommend them to my friends! -

I am not casual with valuing the services of others. Being said, Kris and Band of Gold are consummately professional, great musicians and a boat load of fun! Not only a band, but incredible master of ceremonies, gifted in letting the moment of celebration and principals carry the day. A little too good on value, as their cost of service is certain to go up- so you better hurry and sign them! -

This band is simply amazing. The level of talent in this band is top notch. The audition was professional and very detailed. They played everything we wanted and people are still talking about how great the bands was. We never had to worry about them, follow up with them, do anything other than give them the date. Orpheus And Aphrodite is one of a kind! We used them for both the band and photography and were so thankful that we did!
First, Band of Gold was one of the best bands I have ever heard at a wedding. I was not sure what I wanted played, all I knew was I wanted the crowd (both young and old) to dance and have fun. I left it in Kris's hands and he took care of everything. Everyone was dancing and having a great time, including my 82 year old grandmother who Kris took the time to personally serenade. I requested a few songs for our first and last dance and the band learned them perfectly making those moments so special for us. For days after the wedding, we had all our friends and family commenting on how great the band was.
We also booked the photography with Terrilyn at Orpheus And Aphrodite. She was amazing, capturing every moment of our wedding to make sure that we have the pictures of a lifetime. She took the time to learn our families and the most important shots for us. She made the entire night seamless while still capturing every moment. She was so easy to work with during the wedding and was put everyone at ease. She also had a sneak peak of the pictures up within 48 hours of the event. I was STUNNED to see the pictures,I literally felt like I was looking at a magazine. I cannot wait to see the rest of my pictures because I know I will never be able to choose between them for our book.
We would recommend Orpheus And Aphrodite over and over again. Working with both Kris and Terrilyn is the way to go. They make the whole wedding process so easy by leading you through all of the things you need to think about. We also live out of state and they accommodated our schedule every time we were in town. We can’t say enough about these two and can’t say thank them enough for making our day so special!

We contracted with Band of Gold to play at our daughter's wedding. All I can say is "awesome"! Kris was so easy to work with from the planning stage to the performance. The band played easy listening music at the beginning of the reception while guests ate, and then the party started. High energy and great music. By the end of the evening, everyone was on the dance floor. Thank you to Band of Gold for making this a wonderful and memorable evening for the bride and groom! -

Dancing and FUN were huge priorities for our wedding, and Band of Gold had the dance floor rocking the ENTIRE night. We had 80yr old grandparents having a blast and some surprise performances from my now-brother-in-law! When our reception ended, people didn't want to leave. 2 attendees (college age) even reported that it was the most fun they'd had in their entire lives -- incredible!
The band leader Kris was great to work with: flexible, great recommendations. Their song list is huge (don't forget to download their FULL list on their website), and they even learned 2 songs that we requested. Not only that, they were so friendly and had a jam session with our family friend who improvised on the sax. A truly talented and energetic group! THANK YOU! -

We chose the 8 piece band (Band of Gold), and they were amazing! We asked them to play about 7 songs for our hora (Jewish wedding), and people told us this was the best hora ever! They learned several of the songs for our wedding, and they did them very well with lots of energy--the dance floor was packed! We were so impressed with their hora! They also did a jazz band for the cocktail hour, and they did a great job at this playing the songs we picked out. Also, the band was never so loud that people couldn't hear each other--this is a must at a wedding! It has to be just the right volume so people can still socialize and talk--and they provided just the right volume. Also, they played dinner music. Even though we had a sit down dinner, people were still getting up to dance to songs on the dance floor! And then they played more upbeat dance/party music. We loved their versatility. We gave them a list of songs we liked and that's what they played. Everyone was asking us who is this band! They were fabulous and come highly recommended! -

There's not a better band in Atlanta. Period. They can do it all, on any scale.
Kris even responded to my e-mails while the band was on vacation, just to be sure we felt comfortable and informed!
They have a playlist a mile long and even learned a song for a special request for the "Father/Son Guitar Jam" that we did. They're masters at "reading" the crowd to ensure the right mood is kept, and everyone keeps dancing and has a good time.
Look no further for your wedding band...seriously.

I cant help but give these wonderful people all 5 star's! They made our wedding day so special, and were so prepared for the day that we did not have to worry about anything! We used them for photography and Band of Gold. When looking through my photographs I was laughing AND crying - she captured the day SO perfectly that I was taken back to our wedding by just looking at the pictures. Band of Gold kept the party going and everyone told us how much they loved them and were entertained by them. I will always recommend them to EVERYONE for any events they need photography or music. THEY ARE WONDERFUL! :) -

The one request my son-in-law made about his wedding was for live music. Thus my quest for a great band at a reasonable fee began. When we found Band of Gold right here in Lawrenceville we were blown away. Our guests still rave that it was the best time they have had at any reception, including their own! Band leader Kris's wife is the photographer, and we are so grateful we hired her as well. She used our venue, the Payne-Corley House, to perfection and captured images that are pure artwork. Pictures were the most important aspect of our budget, and Terrilyn performed spectacularly. I cannot recommend this duo any higher...overall rating a 5? Heck, I'd give them a 10. -

Band of Gold was referred to me by a friend and I can not thank her enough! Band of Gold went above and beyond all my expectations. I am stilling getting comments weeks later about how great the band at my wedding was. They got the guests involved and dancing which is one of the reasons my wedding was so great. The range of music they can play gets all age groups and all types of people involved: from Willie Nelson to Justin Timberlake to The Beatles. Kris acted as MC when needed and he did a great job. Band of Gold was SOOOOO fun! They kept our guests dancing the entire evening even through all their breaks. Kris was wonderful to work with. I gave him a list of about 10 special/quirky things I wanted done during the reception and he did ALL of them! Don't bother looking at any other bands. This one is the BEST! -

My husband was in charge of selecting the DJ for our wedding, and I could not be happier with his choice. Kris was awesome. He was so professional, and he kept everyone on the dance floor all night. I had a lot of questions the week leading up to the wedding, and Kris would answer all of my e-mails in a timely manner. In addition, we had the keyboardist for the reception, and he was great, as well! I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone looking to have a great, fun, wedding! -

When planning my wedding, I stressed a lot about finding a DJ. The last thing I wanted was a cheesy wedding DJ that loved to hear themselves talk. When I first met with Kris, I knew he was perfect. He listened to everything I wanted and I could tell that he actually cared.
Kris did a fantastic job at the reception. He kept everything flowing, and in a perfect order. The party never stopped. He played every song on my list and also played the perfect music for every age group. Everyone danced, which made me happy. I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Thank you Kris!! -

When my daughter insisted on having a band versus a DJ for her wedding I was skeptical of its value compared to the cost. However, I changed my mind as soon as I attended a "preview" session in their studio. Their role in her wedding was instrumental to its tremendous success and fun shared by all who attended. Not only are they talented musicians, they are experienced in orchestrating the entire wedding experience, from the ceremony music to the last dance. I believe they had as much fun as we did.
I can't remember giving all 5's when rating a service or product, but I cannot do otherwise rating the "Band of Gold." -

We were absolutely thrilled with BOG! We had 175 guests, and the comment we kept hearing all evening was, "Where did you find the band? They're great!" This band is the one! There is no need to search for another band!
I am a perfectionist and like all brides wanted the big perfect wedding and reception. So we searched for months (and I do mean months) and finally came across Atlanta Band of Gold. I really liked everything about them before we even met them. The only thing I did not like about my experience was the two hour drive to their studio to listen to them during their open house. But I am SOOOO glad we drove up because they were GREAT!! I knew after the first 30 seconds of listening to them that they were our band. I was excited all the way home which made the two hour drive back go by much faster!
We had a wedding reception with 160 people with people in all age groups. We had so many "experienced" wedding goers tell us this was the best band they had ever heard.
We LOVE this band and will definitely recommend them to anyone! If we ever need a band for anything we will call BOG! -

They did a wonderful job at our wedding. The music was perfect! I think what's even more great about they is his flexibility and professionalism. We asked they to play several new songs that weren't on his list and he incorporated them beautifully into our ceremony. This included incorporating a fun little number for our officiant's (who was also our friend) entrance. they even stayed a bit longer to play more songs during the cocktail hour. They made a magical day just perfect. Very professional, quick to respond, and easy to work with.

Where do I start? BOG was the best wedding band EVER! My wife and I have been too many weddings so we knew what the competition looked like. From the first time we met BOG we knew they were going to play our wedding. The fact that they could play any style of music and really loved performing was what caught our attention. We actually used all of the musical services they offer. We used the flute and keyboard combo for the ceremony, which turned out beautifully. Then BOG took over with the Band/DJ combo. The DJ was on for the introductions and anytime the band took a break. The funniest thing about our wedding is at one point my wife and I snuck away for a private breather from everyone and when we came back we saw all the seating was empty, it was toward the end of the wedding, and we were sad because we thought people had left. Little did we know that when we looked up we would see our entire family and friends grooving on the dance floor. I am pretty sure the dance floor was full for the entire party. At the end of the night we really were taken back by how good BOG was and were so happy that we choose them to share our special day. They really worked hard on playing the things that we liked and they really felt the crowd. I think the band might have had just as much fun as we did, and that tells me they not only love what they do but they really care about everyone having a great time. Don't lose out on choosing Band of Gold for your event! -

Atlanta Band of Gold was fantastic! They were professional, fun, and very talented. They performed songs that we requested, one of which wasn't a well known song, even though they weren't on the Band's playlist. Several people told us that they had enjoyed our reception more than most receptions they had attended. We highly recommend Atlanta Band of Gold. You won't be disappointed! -

We loved everything about these guys!! They made getting ready for the reception easy by sending us lists of songs to choose from. Any song we wanted that they did not know how to play the would play during the breaks when Kris was being a DJ. Everyone loved them and people I have never seen dance before where up on the dance floor shaking it. I would love to go to another party where they were playing! -

There is no need to search for another band to play at your wedding. These people were fantastic. We had a wedding reception with 150 people that started at 8:30 pm and went to 1:00am. Kris and the band kept everything hopping: The music was varied and perfect; the lead singer was fantastic; Kris was the ultimate professional. EVERY single guest spoke to me about how great they were - heck we never had a dead spot on the dance floor and probably 95% of the guests stayed till closing. Even the photographer and event planner at the hotel told me how perfect these guys were. And at breaks they interacted with the party!
And, besides adding a new song to their playlist for my daughter's 1st dance with her husband, they, as a surprise for me, added a Zepplin tune just because I mentioned how that would be MY prefernce for the reception.
Price; Professionalism; Pride in their work and Peace of mind for me - the 4 P's for a wedding/party band! -

There is no way I could say enough positive things about Terrilyn at Orpheus & Aphrodite. To begin with, she helped us "adjust" our contract to better suit the kind of package we were looking for. Then on the day of, she was just such an amazing person to work with. Hair and makeup ran late, so consequently we were late too, but she took it all in stride and just snapped away. Our whole day was kind of a "go with the flow" type schedule, and she really made the best of it and tried to get us through all of the required pictures to get us back to the party. She was really just such a pleasure to work with, and seemed to have such a good time that it didn't seem like to work to her or to us!
I can't wait to see the pictures. I've seen so much of her work and it's really great--it's artistic but not "out there", and everything I've seen is so beautiful. -

Terri was fantastic! I hired her only two weeks before the wedding, gave her none of the information she asked for, and didn't have a chance to meet her until the wedding day but she still managed to capture all of the important family shots as well as pictures of most of our guests at the reception. She has a great personality and was very easy to work with. I highly recommend her. -

Could NOT have been better!!!!! Kris and Terrilyn were truly fabulous! Both were very quick to respond to e-mail before the wedding, and were absolutely wonderful at the wedding. Terrilyn completely put me at ease while we took pictures and my family adored her--she requests a family tree ahead of time so by the day of the wedding, she knows everyone's name! She was calling out everyone's name and kept everything organized and on time. Kris did a fabulous job DJing. Several people commented on how great the music was and how impressed they were with him! Our photographer was the highlight of our wedding. It was unbelievable how attentive and courteous she was. My wife is an amateur photographer so she is picky about these things. We were very worried about having good music at our event! It seemed impossible to tell who would get the party started yet not become overbearing or cheesy. In the end, we booked Orpheus + Aprhodite's DJ Troy because he seemed very agreeable and the price was very reasonable, but weren't SURE we were passing up some other musical talent...WE WERE WRONG! DJ Troy was FANTASTIC! He played exactly what we requested, spoke professionally for all the announcements, and was extremely responsive to our needs. For example, when many of our guests were requesting a line dance we did not put on our play list, he discreetly got our okay before playing it, very respectful of our desire. Also, he gave us a great keepsake CD with our main song requests after the event. People were dancing from Dinner to when the lights came up! We were delighted that had found EXACTLY the DJ we wanted at a great value compared with the big DJ companies that, we found, were selling some cheesy ideas about special dances, etc. -

Band of Gold was awesome for our wedding. They learned our first dance song and let my husband rehearse with them so he could surprise me by singing to me at the reception! They also invited one of our guests to be a join them during a set. Overall they did an amazing job, and we got so many comments on them. They were super-responsive, one of the easiest vendors I had to deal with. They did get our entrance songs and first dance song a little out of order, but it all turned out in the end. Band of Gold is great! -

Terrilyn is an amazing photographer! She learned all of my wedding party's names prior to the day of the wedding and even knew the Grandparents' names! I have about 1300 pictures for 5 hours of photography and they are all great! I can't explain how pleased my husband I are with the photography. She did an amazing job!
Terrilyn also put together a DVD slideshow of our wedding pictures. My husband and I will agree that this is so much better than our wedding video! She matched the words in the songs with motions in the pictures and made our wedding come alive. I watch it and show it to as many people as I can! -

Terrilyn took some wonderful photographs. She is a real artist and compiled the picture into a great DVD video. But these services are not cheap but compared to other photographers of her ability she is affordable.
Unlike some photographers we had met with before we decided, she was unable to meet us halfway for pre-wedding appointments so we had to drive to her location in Lawrenceville. It was a little hard as we lived downtown at the time.
Her Husband was a great DJ and everyone had a great time. One typical wedding song that my husband put on the do not play list did manage to slip into the reception but overall he did a great job.
She provided us with a CD of proofs but we had to pay for the right to print picture quality photographs.
The price includes DJ services + photography + storybook DVD + rights to print. -
