We held our ceremony and reception at the Museum. It was a beautiful venue, and everyone really enjoyed it. A few weeks prior to my wedding the coordinator left, and the hand over to the new coordinator wasn't the best. When we came in to do the rehearsal the day before there was a bit of confusion with the security guards, and they made both of our families believe that they could not take any pictures during our ceremony. Later that evening the coordinator called my wedding planner to apologize for the treatment from the security guards, which I appreciated. I did feel that the cost was a bit high, especially since our other vendors took care of setting everything up. Overall it was a lovely venue, which I would recommend to someone looking for a spot that is a bit different, and not your typical ballroom setting. One piece of advice if your hosting an event at the Museum, if you can afford it have someone do entertainment lighting for you. One of my friends did it for us, and I think that the rotunda area would have been very bland, and it would've been a completely different party without it.

After much thought of where we wanted our wedding to take place we decided that we DIDN'T want it in a hotel banquet room with 4 bland walls and paisley carpet (we do live in tourist central)- so that led us to search out other venues, and I came across the Orlando Museum of Art. At first visit I wasn't sure all 175 guests would fit, so the coordinator that I was speaking with told us to come back that next week where there was going to be another venue (A Bar Mitzvah) was taking place. So we did, and when I saw what the Museum could be turned into- I was BLOWN AWAY!! It was gorgeous! The table on the wonderful marble created such as great contrast. We had our ceremony in the rotunda where the chihuly is and the seating semi-circled around us in front of the magnificient sculpture. The coordinator was there through the wedding and reception and led us through every step and was extremly helpful. The tall ceilings, openness, and wonderful artwork was a world of difference compared to the bland 4 walls of any hotel banquet room!

The Museum is a gorgeous place to have a ceremony and reception. It would have been great to have more hands on help from the coordinator there, but it was still a lovely experience.

Great if you can be creative, but because of the nature of the venue there are a lot of restrictions on what you can do. But as long as you can work around them, the venue is unique and the rotunda made for a great social area.
