Beautiful and delicious wedding cake
We got our wedding cake from the Oak Mills Bakery in Niles and would highly recommend them! Setting up a tasting was easy and there were lots of example designs to choose from that could still be customized for our specific event. The person we worked with (Basia) was very knowledgeable and helpful. The cakes and fillings were delicious! The delivery on the day of the wedding went smoothly, and the cake looked lovely and it tasted great. The Oak Mills Bakery did a wonderful job!

Amazing all around!
I loved working with Oakmill bakery for my wedding cake. Basia was so responsive and friendly! We had our cake tasting virtually since it was during peak covid and it was such an amazing experience. We recommend Oak Mill Bakery!
We worked with Oak Mill Bakery for our wedding cake, and from start to finish, it was a great experience!
For our original tasting, we met with Basia at their Arlington Heights location in March 2020. The appointment was fun and productive—we spent our time viewing their look-book of designs, discussing photos we brought in as examples of our vision, and, of course, tasting several combinations of cake and frosting. They kindly served us water and tea alongside our samples. At the end, we elected to go with a 3-tiered vanilla cake with vanilla custard filling and cascading flowers.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we pushed our event all the way to 2022, which Basia was able to accommodate. The day of our wedding, the cake looked absolutely beautiful! I was in awe when I saw it for the first time walking into our reception hall, and I had to take a moment before cake cutting simply to admire it! It was delicious, and we received many compliments from our guests following the event.
We’ve visited Oak Mill on separate occasions simply to try their other desserts. Likewise, everything we’ve purchased—small cakes, tarts, cookies, and other confections—are sweet, tasty, and fresh.
We recommend Oak Mill for your wedding cake and other sweet treat needs!

Cake You Will Remember
Oak Mill Bakery has a number of beautiful wedding cakes on display at their bakery in Arlington Heights, and we started working with Bill there. The first step was to arrange a tasting. We had two of our close friends join us for a cake tasting. For an hour, we leafed through books of cake designs, and tasted various cakes and frostings. At the end we had decided on our cake design, and flavors. It was a very enjoyable experience. We ordered the cake, and provided our own topper before the wedding. The cake was absolutely beautiful, and tasted delicious. I receive numerous compliments from guests about the cake. It looked, and tasted wonderful. I recommend Oak Mill Bakery without any hesitation.

Best gf cake ever!
It was very important to me to have a gluten-free wedding cake, as many members of my family have Celiac disease. BEST DECISION. Everyone I told the cake was gluten-free was shocked!! It tasted AMAZING!! So many compliments from our guests. 10/10 recommend.

Very easy going
You NEED to have their almond bread and chocolate fudge!!!! All my guests loved our cake. For my cake topper I gave them what I wanted and what I had in mind and they definitely understood the assignment! This was included with my venue so I have no clue what the price was.

Oak Mill Bakery did a wonderful job with our wedding cake. They work closely with our venue, Alpine Banquets, to ensure that everything went smoothly with the wedding cake. Alpine Banquets coordinated with the bakery all of the details of the delivery and the guest list. The only thing we needed to do was schedule a tasting appointment, and then TASTE the cake. It was fantastic. This venue could be used in the city, but also in the suburbs.

You'll want your cake from here! It was such an easy and enjoyable experience doing our cake tasting and the end result was incredible. Our cake looked absolutely beautiful and tasted absolutely amazing as well. By the end of the night it was all gone our guests loved it so much. I can't recommend this place enough! Wedding Cake, Pie, Cookies, all amazing!
Working with Basia and the Oak Mill Bakery was so easy and turned out to be a great call. Everyone loved the pies and assorted cookies we got, in addition to our cake! Basia organized a tasting for us and my wife's parents to try all sorts of cakes and fillings. Within an hour we made our choices on everything and were on our way. It was great having it be such a simple and DELICIOUS process. Thank you Basia!

Best Bakery in Chicagoland area!
Oak Mill Bakery did an amazing job on our wedding cake on 08/11/19!!! The cake was very fresh and delicious. Most importantly there was plenty of cake for all of my 150 guests and we saved the top layer to eat on our 1 month anniversary (Oak Mill Bakery can make a fresh top layer cake for your 1 year anniversary). We ordered a 5 layer vanilla and chocolate cake with raspberry and custard filling. Oak Mill Bakery delivered our wedding cake on-time at our reception in Lake Forest and assembled it beautifully. We also ordered 10" assorted pastry sweet trays on each guest table instead of doing a traditional sweet table. The sweets were a big hit with all of our guests and the Roshky were my personal favorite! Oak Mill Bakery staff was very knowledgeable with designing the cake and creating a cake exactly how I wanted. They also had a free cake tasting before ordering your wedding cake. I would highly recommend Oak Mill Bakery for your wedding; you will not be disappointed!

The cake tasting was done 5 months ahead of time and was a fun experience. They don’t create every flavor combo imaginable (which makes sense) but they have a little bit of everything. It up to you to create your own bite. A little confusing at first but once you get the hang of it it’s fun and you do understand exactly how your flavors will taste.
My cake arrived on time and looked exactly how I envisioned. Oak mill worked directly with my venue so after choosing my cake I didn’t have anything additional to do. It was a seamless experience and my cake was SOO good. I had lemon cake w a raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream - very moist and lemony.
Price was included in the venues per person cost, so I don’t know the actual price.

I got married at The Glen Club and Oak Mill Bakery was one of two bakeries that were included in the wedding package. My husband and I have had many desserts and cakes from Oak Mill Bakery before so we were thrilled. Basia was so helpful and easy to work with during our cake tasting. She was very knowledgable and let us try many different combinations until we picked our favorites. I had a vision for what I wanted my cake to look like and they made it happen exactly as I wanted it! It was a simple design and a delicious cake... we can't wait to eat it again in a year.

When I initially found out that a wedding cake was included with our venue package I was a bit concerned. I assumed the cake would be your typical "meh" wedding cake with barely any options. I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience with Oak Mill Bakery, and my confidence grew as more and more brides I spoke to told me they had gotten their wedding cakes there.
Basia was so friendly, and we were able to taste all of the combinations in which we were interested. We ended up going with a lemon cake with lemon curd filling and buttercream frosting. It was delicious, though I will say I was a bit disappointed with some of the other flavors I had wanted (red velvet and almond, specifically.) However, I was pleased with the variety of options included in my package, as well as the upgrade availabilities.
The cake was GORGEOUS, especially when combined with the decor of my florist. The only complaint we received from the guests was that the wait staff cut the pieces too small! The cake top only lasted a few days before my husband and I devoured it, there was no way that thing was lasting a year. ;)

The tasting was so fun and she helped us with a variety of flavor combinations and helped guide us to the most delicious wedding cake we thought we'd ever had! We chose a simple design for the cake and used our own cake topper that they placed on the cake for us. We've already talked about going back to the bakery to get a smaller cake just for ourselves!

Our wedding cake was not only stunning but it tasted amazing! After our tasting, we were confident in Oak Mill's quality and service. Bascia is a skilled expert at what she does. Our wedding venue's catering package included a cake from Oak Mill Bakery and we were very pleased with how the cake turned out. First, we went for our cake tasting led by Basia. She was super nice and had many helpful suggestions. We ended up choosing a yellow cake with plain buttercream and lemon curd filling. It was delicious and so refreshing for our July wedding! Our guests loved it too. The decoration was plain white rings all around each layer of the cake- just how we wanted it- with buttercream flowers that beautifully matched our actual wedding flowers, some of which went on the cake. We delivered our cake topper to the bakery a couple weeks prior to the wedding, which made me nervous because it was very delicate, but everything turned out just fine. Nicely done.

We worked with Oak Mill Bakery in Arlington Heights - and OMG the best cake ever. We received so many compliments on our cake. They had so many flavors and combinations to choose from it was amazing. We chose an almond cake with fudge and raspberry filling for one layer, and a vanilla cake with fresh strawberries and cream and it was seriously the best cake I have ever had. The cake was gorgeous too. I cannot wait to eat our top layer a year from now :)

We loved our experience with Oak Mill Bakery from start to finish. We kind of had to use Oak Mill as our bakery for our wedding cake because they were contracted through our venue (White Pines Golf Club). We were a little hesitant at first because it was a forced choice but everything turned out perfectly. Out cake tasting was wonderful and we quickly decided on 3 layer lemon, vanilla poppyseed, lemon cake with raspberry buttercream.... so freaking good. I am not a cake person at all but our wedding cake was amazing. The bakery was great with checking in to receive final payments and to ensure they had our wedding topper and information from our florist. The cake arrived to the venue on time and in perfect condition. Seriously, it was stunning and tasty and there was very little left at the end of the night. I highly recommend you check them out for your cake needs - so good!

Working with Oak Mill Bakery for our wedding cake was professional and easy. Their bakery in Niles was prepared for our tasting, which went flawlessly. The staff had recommendations, and shared in our vision for our cake. The final flavors we settled on were lemon cake layered with lemon curd and raspberry preserve-- it was absolutely delicious.
After our tasting, the only further communication necessary on our end was a confirmation of the final guest count. All other communication was handled directly with the venue. On the wedding day, the cake arrived promptly (without us even needing to know), and the first time we saw it, we were awe-struck by how beautiful it was! It was just as we imagined and better. Not only did it look great, many guests commented it was the best wedding cake they've ever had. The cake was perfect for us.

We worked with Oak Mill Bakery in Niles and they were amazing! We tasted several flavors of cake, frosting, and extras, and everything was delicious. They were so accommodating and easy to work with. The cake was delivered as ordered and we had a lot of compliments on the taste! We did a half chocolate half white cake with raspberry preserves and custard. The outside was a simple white design and we used fresh flowers from our florist. They also have amazing pastries! We already have plans to order a cake here on our anniversary every year :) I would highly recommend working with Oak Mill!

As our venue's preferred vendor, we picked our vanilla cake with fudge filling from the Arlington Heights location and it was perfect! We could definitely see why our venue loves to work with them-- they were so helpful and the cake was absolutely delicious. A couple of brides that I have talked to said that their cakes from other vendors did not taste the same at the tasting as it did at the wedding, but this was not a problem with Oak Mill. It tasted just as amazing as it did when we went to our tasting. When I was scrambling with last minute wedding details, they were the ones that called me to confirm, which was such a relief because I would have definitely forgot to call and might have panicked later. They also accommodated my heavy cake topper without any issue. If you want to make sure that your wedding cake is beautiful, delicious, and taken care of without any stress, Oak Mill is the way to go.

Our wedding cake from Oak Mill was included in our venue package, and we are so glad it was! Before going to our tasting (make sure you call at least 2 weeks ahead of when you want to go) we thought we wanted a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. Once we had our tasting, we knew we had to have their chocolate fudge cream frisking as well! They had the exact design we wanted, and our cake turned out beautifully. The cake was absolutely delicious on the day of, and we got a lot of great comments from our guests as well. Their buttercream frosting is so light and cannot be beat! The staff was also friendly to work with.

Oak Mill Bakery was included in our package with Salvatore's. At the initial cake tasting, I wasn't too sure how the cake was going to be on our wedding day. They use frozen samples during the tasting, due to the cake being made in a different factory. Please don't let you be discouraged with this venue, the freshly baked cake for our actual wedding will be fantastic! It was hands down the best red velvet cake I have ever had, it was moist and the icing was just right. My husband has a special Cubs groom carrot cake that not only looked great, but, he still can't stop raving about how good it was! We can't wait to eat our anniversary cake next year. My husband and I worked with Basia at the Oak Mill Bakery in Niles, IL. She was very friendly and helped us get through the THOUSANDS of cake options they had. After much deliberation, we chose a lemon cake with a raspberry butter cream frosting inside. The end result was a beautiful, perfect, delicious cake that people really enjoyed. Our guests were actually disappointed that the venue sliced the cake so thin ... they wanted more!

My husband and I used Oak Mill Bakery for our recent wedding and the cake was GORGEOUS! We met with Basia, for a tasting which was very helpful in deciding what designs we wanted on our cake and what flavor cake and type of filling. The booking process was easy and Basia was always very helpful and a pleasure to work with. The day of the wedding, when I saw the cake I was so happy because it was just as I had hoped it would be, if not better! We also ordered a small gluten free cake for those guests that had dietary restrictions, and they said their cake was also great! I am so pleased with Oak Mill Bakery and would recommend it to any bride looking for a delicious and beautiful cake!

I wish I could order my wedding cake every month! It was phenomenal! i had 130 guests, and ordered a 4 tiered cake (with different flavors) for 130 people, my vendor was able to cut 300 large slices. Most of my guests went back for seconds and thirds. Everyone loved the cake. It was moist and flavorful! They had cake flavors that I have never tasked before. I will be ordering ALL of my future cakes and desserts from Oak Mill Bakery from this point out! My cake was not only delectable on the inside but it was gorgeous on the outside! It was a pure white buttercream, with Champange cascading roses (real) which filled the entire top tier and went down the side of the cake! It was stunning! not only that but these roses are great if you want to press your flowers. I have had them for about 10 days now and they are still perfect ( which doesnt typically happen with roses). Do yourselft a favor and have your cake tasting at OakMill Bakery, your tastebuds will thank you!

Oak Mill Bakery was wonderful. I brought a picture of what I wanted and Basia duplicated it exactly, the inside of the cake was amazing devils food chocolate with fudge, it was not part of the choices but Basia worked with me when she realized my husband and I were chocolate lovers. I bought my cake stand and just left it at the venue, I brought my cake topper and left it at Oak Mill Bakery, on my wedding night everything looked stunning.

Probably the best wedding cake I've ever had. When my husband and I went in for the tasting, we didn't know what we wanted and there were tons of options. Basia (at the Niles location) helped us through the process and made us feel comfortable. We ended up going with a devil's food cake and almond cake layered with chocolate ganache and hazelnut buttercream. So good that we could not wait a year to eat the top layer :)

Our wedding cake with Oak Mill was included with our reception package, which made me a bit nervous. In my experience that set up has not worked out very well, but I could not have been more wrong this time. From our first meeting with Bascia everything was so comfortable. We went to the Oak Mill in Niles and we were so thrilled with the results. Truthfully, we didn't have a choice in which bakery we used for our wedding cake because our venue contracted with Oak Mill, but had it been up to us, I'm still confident we would have gone with them. We really enjoyed our tasting with Bascia and she made us feel very comfortable the entire time. We never felt rushed or pressured to go beyond what our package included. Oak Mill can provide real or sugar flowers for your cake, but when we told her that we were going to have our florist provide the flowers, she didn't seem offended at all, and even told us that it would likely be cheaper for us to do it that way. We decided to go with alternating tiers of devil's food cake with a chocolate ganache filling, and vanilla poppyseed with lemon curd. I'm a huge chocolate person, so the devils food was a given, but the lemon curd layer was actually the stand out. It's something I would never ordinarily order, but I ended up liking it the most. Our finished cake was absolutely beautiful and looked exactly like we described at the meeting. All of our guests were raving about how much they loved it and we are so happy we got our cake from Oak Mill.

We were given Oak Mill Bakery name through our wedding venue. We were so happy with Oak Mill. We had to travel for our wedding. I missed my tasting appointment due to bad weather. The bakery made a to-go box that I was able to pick up the next day. We went with lemon cake and raspberry preserve filling. I did a one tier cake and a dessert table. They completely customized it for me and were super flexible! At one time, I missed one of their emails, and bill called me to check in (in the awesome check-in and not at all annoying kind of way)! He totally worked with me to get my topper on the cake in time (even though I didn't know it needed to get there two weeks before, he was able to work it out one week before.
The cake was perfect and super tasty!
We picked them because we had to due to our venue, but it was the perfect and awesome choice! So glad we did!

Worked with Joanna at Oak Mill Bakery and it was the easiest and most seemless process. I brought in some photos I had found on Pinterest and on the day of, I saw exactly what I had dreamed up in my head! The cake tasting was probably the most difficult part because every flavor was delicious, we ended up going with a 4 tier cake with dots and waves - german chocolate cake, strawberry mouse, lemon poppy, and red velvet. Everyone had excellent comments about the presentation and flavor. I brought in some extra bling that they don't charge you for - a ribbon with rhinestones and a monogram for the top. The cake was amazing. It was nice that it was included in the price of the venue that we had our reception. When we went for our tasting we were able to pick out several different types of cake that we wanted to try. The lady that sat with us was very nice and explained how everything worked. We did however have to pay a little extra for ribbon that we wanted but it ended up be less than $20. Also, there are only two locations for Oak Mill. Oak Mill Bakery supplied our wedding cake and groom's cake for our Memorial Day 2014 wedding and we could not have been happier with our choice. Bill helped us through our cake tasting and we ended up selecting almond cake with praeline filling...flavors that we hadn't found at several other Chicago-area bakeries. On the day of, the cake was moist and delicious, and we received so many compliments from our wedding guests. Plus, Oak Mill took care of all the delivery logistics and everythin went seamlessly.
We also had Oak Mill make our groom's cake, which was chocolate ganache with a raspberry jam filling...my husband's favorite combination. He was totally wowed by the cake on the day of the wedding, not only for its taste but because Oak Mill delivered on our vision for the cake: a University of Michigan "M" in maize and blue colors. Needless to say, our Wolverine wedding guests were so impressed with the cake!

Admittedly, we were required to get our cake from this bakery as part of the contract with our wedding reception venue. Therefore, I can't claim that it is necessarily a better choice than others in the area -- I can only say that we were quite pleased.
OMB offers endless combinations of flavors and designs. If you're not sure what you want, you can browse through binders full of pictures.
Because there are so many flavor options, I suggest reviewing the list before you go to the tasting. That way you'll have a "short list" of what you want to try.
Joanna, our contact at the bakery, was friendly, organized, and really knew her stuff. She followed up with us regarding our order ahead of the deadline and was available to quickly answer additional questions.

Our wedding reception venue included the cake through Oak Mill Bakery (Niles).
We did not know what to expect when coming to the tasting and at first we were overwhelmed by the number of options! Basia was able to work with us and make the process much easier and helping us narrow down our list of choices. She was great at suggesting ways to make the cake look more sleek while still incorporating our colors with ribbon and decorative flower.
We were very happy with how the cake turned out for our wedding. The look was just as we had planned and it tasted delicious!

My Mom & I tasted Oak Mill Bakery's samples at a Bridal Expo and fell in love with her cakes!
I ordered a small cake for us to cut and everyone who was "allowed" to have a piece LOVED it!
Joanna was AWESOME to work with!!! She kept in contact with me through out the ordering process, I live 120 mi away, and there was NO problem. She was ever kind in helping me arrange to have my parents pick up the cake. they were given instruction as to the best mode of transport & care for the cake prior to set up, it was so sweet of them. I had a brooch on the cake that she helped me choose, and it turned out FANTASTIC! The personalized care I was given and the way she dealt with me was in an utmost professional, kind manner!
I'd HIGHLY recommend you using her bakery!

We used Oak Mill Bakery for our wedding and we could not have asked for anything better. The service was amazing and very professional. Everyone was very helpfull in the decision making process. The sweet table that Oak Mill delivered on our wedding day was beyond dreamy. From the taste of the sweets to the decor it matched perfectly to our theme. We also had specific requests for the cake and they fulfilled them all. I can't recommend them enough!!!

The staff at Oak Mill is friendly and they created a cake that really tied into our overall wedding theme, that did not cost us above what our vendor package included. The cake was delicious as well!

We had a red velvet wedding cake with vanilla buttercream frosting and LOVED it. It was delicious and beautiful.
They had a really large selection of styles to choose from, which was great for us, since we didn't have any ideas for a custom cake.
The tasting session was great too, the employees in the Chicago location were really friendly and helpful.

My wedding cake from Oak Mill Bakery in Wicker Park was absolutely beautiful and quite delicious too!!! My wedding colors were blush pink and ivory. Bill and his team were able to match the colors on the cake to the color of my blush pink gown. My guests were raving about how tasty the cake was (I went with a lemon buttercream frosting with lemon buttercream filling and raspberry filling). My maid of honor said the cake tasted like a party in her mouth! Thank you Bill for making my wedding day that much more special!

I worked with Joanna at the Arlington Heights location and she was extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with.
My now husband is a huge sweets person, so he was really looking forward to the cake tasting. We had our first tasting with the Baking Institute which was awful, so we didn't know what to expect when we met with Oak Mill.
Unfortunately, my husband was unable to attend our tasting, so my parents accompanied me. We were able to select when we arrived several different frosting's, preserves and different cakes. We fell in love, which says a lot since I really don’t care for sweets. Joanna was even kind enough for me to take a few samples of our final selections home for my husband to taste. After trying them, he couldn't wait for the actual wedding cake!
Joanna helped me design the cake and explained everything to me. My husband and I plan to order a cake from here on our one year anniversary!

We loved our wedding cake from Oak Mill. We decided against a traditional chocolate or vanilla cake and went for a lemon cake with fresh strawberries, which so many of our guests commented how great it was. A few days before the wedding, Oak Mill called and said we did not need the 5th tier on our cake because of our guest list. My fiancé called back asking how much it would be to add the tier back on, since we were pretty set on the design of the cake. Oak Mill called and said it would only cost $7! They were so accommodating. We also had a gluten-free cake with strawberries for our families that have a gluten intolerance/celiac. They suggested to use it as our groom's cake. They were so understanding to our needs. I would definitely recommend them!

Let me start by saying this, I hated butter cream frosting, with a passion. That being said, Bill convinced me to get a butter cream frosting on my wedding cake, and after the first taste test I have to say it was AMAZING! The taste and texture were perfect, and there wasn't an obscene amount of frosting allowing you to taste the whole cake, and enjoy the design. The cake was so good that my husband and I didn't even wait for our anniversary to finish the top of our cake. We plan on using them for all of our events because the cake was just that good.
