This wedding dress made my wedding a complete success!

The design of Royce bridal is really amazing. The unique tailoring highlights my body's advantages, and even the makeup artist praised how good it looked!

Devon is a wedding dress miracle worker – beyond grateful for his expertise!

I honestly can't recommend Devon from Seattle Wedding Dress Specialists enough! He is knowledgeable, thoughtful, and so easy to connect with—an absolute gem of a tailor.

I had been scouring the internet for a used version of my dream dress (No shade to other brides, but I personally couldn't justify spending $3K on a dress I'd only wear once…). After months of searching, I wasn't having any luck until I finally found it on eBay for a great price... except the problem was three sizes too big, a bit too long, and had some button issues. I also really wanted to add a slit. I wasn't sure I'd get another chance to find this dress, so I purchased it without hesitation, unsure if all the alterations I wanted were possible.

After an initial consultation with Devon, he assured me that not only could he make it work, but he also had some great suggestions—including adding a beautiful bustle! We had a second fitting in November and the final fitting just last week. And wow. I was blown away. The dress is everything I imagined. It fits like a dream, and I cannot wait to wear it to my wedding in April.

On top of that, I have an outfit change into a gold sequin jumpsuit for the second half of the wedding. I initially took the jumpsuit to another tailor to take it in and hem it (since Devon specializes in wedding dresses and stays busy with that!). Unfortunately, though, I had a terrible experience, and the jumpsuit didn't come out right at all. I found a different jumpsuit to replace the first one, but it also came with an extra four inches at the hem. So, at my final fitting last week, on a whim, I asked Devon if he'd be willing to hem them for me. Not only did he graciously accept, but he also charged me less than the other tailor—just another testament to how much he truly cares about his clients.

If you're looking for someone to alter your wedding dress, Devon is the person to go to. His attention to detail, craftsmanship, and kindness make the entire process such a joy. You won't be disappointed! 💛

    Speedy and great work

I loved working with Pauline. She knew just what alterations I needed, and the hemming and gown adjustments were done beautifully and very quickly. She even taught me how to walk and descend stairs in a long gown. She was also able to alter my gown afterwards to make it wearable for other occasions, and getting my gown cleaned there was an added bonus.

    Beyond Incredible

Working with Seattle Wedding Dress Specialists was hands down the easiest and most rewarding part of my wedding planning. I bought a dress from a company that curates and resells showroom pieces, and I completely fell in love with it. However, at some point, the dress picked up a dirt stain on one of the straps, and I had a total panic. I live in Southern California, but the wedding was in Seattle, and I was cutting it close to the wedding when I finally picked my dress as it was! I emailed Will at the Dress Specialists in a total and complete meltdown that my dream dress was ruined forever. After looking at a few photos, Will was very sweet and reassuring over email, and we agreed I would bring it in as soon as I landed in Seattle, a week before my wedding. Once we brought the dress in, not only was Will just as sweet and reassuring in person, but he worked through his weekend and rushed to get the dress cleaned and pressed in time for my wedding. The dress turned out stunning and all of my guests gushed about it all weekend. Do not hesitate to call or email them if you have a question or concern about your dress!! They work miracles and if they were able to calm me down, I can guarantee they can calm you down! Thank you again Will!!!

    Seattle Wedding Dress Specialists's reply:

Alexandra, I genuinely assure you the pleasure was all ours. The presence you brought to our shop, no matter how stressed you were, was so kind and funny and bright it made my weekend a joy working on your dress. You’re the absolute best, thank you for your kind words

Mike at National Drycleaners did an amazing job cleaning my dress after our out door wedding. It looks absolutely brand new so now I can sell it with ease! I was even given a certificate so the next bride knows it was taken care of the right way.

I received a flyer for National Drycleaners at the Seattle Wedding Show. After my outdoor photo shoot, wedding, and reception the bottom few inches of my wedding dress were absolutely filthy, so I called National Drycleaners. I spoke to Mike Erstad, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave me some basic information over the phone and then set up an appointment for me to come in with my dress so he could give me a quote for cleaning and preservation.

National Drycleaners is conveniently located near my home in Ballard. I went in and met with Mike and felt very confident in his ability to take care of my dress. The total cost ended up being $296.84 which might seem high, but it included for hand cleaning and anti-sugar stain treatment (to detect and remove invisible sugar stains, because some stains, like champagne and cider, are invisible, but can turn yellow over time), and preservation for storage in an acid free preservation box with an oval window made of polypropylene (an inert plastic that will not yellow or damage the gown). My veil was also cleaned and placed in the box for no additional fee.

The entire process took just about two weeks and I was contacted as soon as my dress was done so I could pick it up right away. It was cleaned beautifully and you would never know that it was dragging on the ground all day long.

National Drycleaners was extremely professional and friendly, and their service was exceptional and I feel reasonably priced for what I got.

    Ok brides,
This is a no-brainer when it comes to The Place To Go for dress cleaning care in the Western WA area.

I purchased a gown online that needed a professional cleaning before I could take it to be altered. Mike Erstad seriously is a specialist and he put my fears to rest. He knows his stains, materials, processes and everything else that you could be obsessing over in this field. My dress came back right on time, clean as a whistle, with all koodies of the dress's few years as a sample washed off. Mike is really nice and you'll know that you've found your meistro when you meet him.

Anyhow, I didn't want to take my dress to one of those random shops that tacks on "we do wedding dresses" to their signage; I wanted an expert and THANK GOODNESS that's what I found. They are only only place in town that are officially part of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists.

Enjoy! PS- now I'm having my dress cleaned again post-wedding. We partied hard and I have too much love for that dress and the centerstage memories of my wedding day to not do my best for it! THANKS Mike!!

I bought my dress in Ireland (all European design and Irish lace) and it was a floor model and the tag had been worn off so the materials in the dress were unknown. National Drycleaners were so careful with my dress and so accommodating to the fact that I needed it cleaned over a weekend because I lived in Eastern Washington (no wedding gown specialists there). They cleaned it before the wedding because it was a floor model at the boutique I bought it from and it was quite dirty. When I got it back, it looked like a whole new dress. It was beautiful and in perfect condition. I also took my dress back there after the wedding to have it preserved and they were kind to give me a discount since I had it cleaned there before the wedding. Their staff is patient and has the old fashioned quality customer service that many businesses lack in our generation. I will recommend them to all of my friends getting married in the near future.

Super great service!!! I took my gown to be cleaned so I could sell it to a consignment shop. The consignment shop owner was really impressed with the condition of the gown given the ceremony was outdoors. National Dry Cleaners was extremely professional, cleaned my dress in a timely manner and had super great customer service! They are also a great dry cleaning shop for all of your clothes and I have even brought them some odd shaped items like floor pillows without removable covers and they always do a FANTASTIC job!!! Highly recommended!!!

I take all of my cleaning here. The best quality I have ever seen, they do all of there own work and have been around forever. I like the fact that they use alternative cleaning fluids. The owner at National is a certified Wedding gown specialist and cleans many many gowns. Whether the gown gets cleaned and hung for the wedding day or preserved in a lovely wedding chest National does an excellent job with great service and a 100% guarantee on their preservation work. National is the Best!

One word: FANTASTIC! I brought my dress here a few days before my wedding to have it cleaned and pressed. I picked it up the day before and it looked phenomenal! When I did this I was told I could bring it back for $100 off a preservation, which I did and it looks beautiful in the box as well! Everyone inspected my gown carefully and seemed to really care that I was happy with the results! I would recommend them to anyone and will be returning for regular dry cleaning as well!

My wedding dress was taken in to National Dry cleaners before the wedding and they did an exceptional job cleaning and pressing it. I had gotten some make up on my dress during a fitting. It was taken care of personally and thoroughly. After they pressed and cleaned it, they gave me a $100 credit towards the cleaning and preservation of my gown! The staff was great !

I took in my wedding dress to get cleaned and preserved. National Cleaners did an amazing job and the staff was very friendly. My wedding dress means a lot to me and I definitely paid more to have my dress professionally preserved. It is recommended to make an appointment when dropping off the dress for a short consultation, inspection and going over the options. The cleaning/preservation was also ready quite a bit earlier than the planned finishing date.

After researching dry cleaners in Seattle, National Drycleaners was the clear choice. They let me do what I want with my dress, they spent several phone conversations answering all of my questions, they were a pleasure work with, and they have competitive prices. I also took some regular cleaning to them, and they got out tough stains. I'd trust National Drycleaners with my most precious clothing!

Great gown preservation. Comes in a nice box with a window. Took about 2 weeks. Total cost was about $175 I think.

I had to have my mothers dress brought in to be pressed before alterations could be made. They were able to fit me in without much notice and the dress now perfectly pressed received the alterations and didn't need further pressing. Woo hoo! I will definitely be going back to preserve the now that our wedding is over.

Very attentive and made me feel safe leaving my gown in their care. I had an outdoor wedding so my gown got pretty muddy and dirty, but they returned it to it's original beauty. Now I have my gown at home in one of their preservation boxes with a lifetime guarantee against any yellowing. The service was excellent and I would recommend National to everyone for their wedding gown care.

Potential customers beware: Radio Silence and Delayed Timelines

I am writing this review, not just to record my negative experiences with Seattle Wedding Dress Specialists, but also to warn future brides and customers about this shop’s consistent lack of communication, dropped timelines, and lax final product. We are truly disappointed with the service we received across all fronts, it is inappropriate from any business, especially one dealing with such priceless and sentimental pieces, and we cannot recommend this shop to anyone.

My wife and I scheduled a wedding dress cleaning consultation for each of our dresses for April 13. We met with Michael, who mentioned the dress cleaning should take approximately 6 weeks and they would email us when they were done so we could schedule a pick up appointment. We dropped off our dresses and paid the cleaning fee up front ($303 for each dress). Six weeks later I hadn’t heard from the store yet so I called the number on the website, it went straight to voicemail. I never got a call back so I tried to reach out again over phone mid-June and I also sent a message on their website’s contact box. No response.

Mid-July (at this point 13 weeks after we dropped off the dresses) I just decided to show up to speak with a real person and get an update. Will was there, I explained the situation and he said his dad was covering for him before and we wasn’t great with technology, so he probably put our information in wrong and that was why we didn’t get a message. He also said since we were two brides that he probably got confused when entering the information. (An aside, but a different review here mentions that you have to enter your email and phone number to make a consultation appointment to begin with, so echoing that, no sure why they didn’t have our information on file). I mentioned that my calls were never returned, so Will gave me his “personal” number so I could get a direct response in the future. My dress was ready to take that day, but my wife’s had a small tear on the seam where the hanger strap was. It was now repaired and now it was waiting for the final cleaning. Will said he would move it to the front of the line so it would be ready that Friday for pick up. We never heard back about pick up that Friday.

Now August (17 weeks after we dropped off the dresses) I reached out to Will’s “personal number” for an update on my wife’s dress with no response. I decided to drop by the store again and this time Devon was at the store meeting with a client for alterations. I apologized for the intrusion but explained the situation. Devon called Will and said Will would message me with an update shortly. Immediately I got a text back. Will mentioned needing to complete the repair (that I was told a month ago was already completed) and that the dress was just awaiting pressing. I was told it would be ready to pick up that Friday. We never heard back about pick up that Friday.

The following week I messaged Will explaining my concerns with the consistent lack of communication and delayed timelines. No response. At this point there was a real risk they had lost or seriously damaged the dress because of the radio silence and lack of tangible progress on the dress.

To get some answers and finally see the dress in person, we decided to schedule a consignment appointment for the following week, just to get in the store and hold a time slot where we wouldn’t interrupt anyone else but we could also talk directly to the owner. Will saw that appointment and reached out day-of to see if we were seriously considering selling the dress. I replied no and that we just wanted to get the dress. FINALLY it was ready to be picked up. 19 weeks later. Nearly 6 months instead of the original 6 week timeline estimation. Requiring me to call and text and message and show up at the store to get any update at all. Kicker is, when we went to pick it up, it wasn’t even Will there but Devon to hand over the dress so we did not have the chance to air any of our grievances in person.

We were happy to pay the $300 each for what we thought would be quality and professional services. What we were met with instead was radio silence, infinite delays, and a mediocre cleaning job. That’s right, my wife’s dress still has dirt stains and spot stains. And the repair that took them months to complete is bulky and noticeable. At this point the $300 feels way too much for what we received, but I don’t even have the energy to argue for a refund since I just wanted the dress back.

Potential customers, take this warning to heart and do not give Seattle Wedding Dress Specialists your business or your precious wedding dresses. They cannot be trusted.
