Music by Bonnie was an absolute joy for our wedding day! Part of her DJ team, Larry, was our DJ for our special day, who went above and beyond helping out on the wedding day. He assisted with little things like moving the heater out of the way of our sweetheart table photos, picking up my Maid of Honor’s epic toast sheets of paper that had fallen, and big things like ensuring all the right people were in the correct order for giving toasts, and providing microphones necessary for both the ceremony and reception.
The music was fun, and he read the crowd appropriately for the vibes and energy, especially on the dance floor! His announcements were fantastic, and he checked in to make sure the bride and groom weren’t missing any must-play songs for the night.
We provided some Spotify playlists for cocktail hour, dinner, and reception, and he ensured everything went smoothly, adjusted music selections based on timeline, and checked in with the bride and groom in such a great, friendly, and communicative way!
We had an absolute blast, and the whole team is so friendly and professional! Would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat, and we would love to hire them again for another event in the future! DJ Bonnie Hope went above and beyond just being a DJ for our wedding. She practically saved our wedding ceremony! We had a violinist drop out last second, and Bonnie happily swooped in and was able incorporate all the songs the violinist was going to play during the ceremony with ease. The ceremony came out beautifully!
At the reception, she helped to make announcements for our guests, took song requests, and helped guide our guests to where we had glowsticks and sandals available for the dance floor. We provided her a playlist and she did a great job working within it to keep the party going :). She truly helped make the night a blast for everyone.
All in all, a fantastic, kind, and professional DJ. 10/10 would recommend!

If you are planning a Santa Barbara wedding, especially at the Santa Barbara Courthouse in the Mural Room or El Paseo Restaurant, do yourself a favor and hire Bonnie! We were specifically looking for someone who understood the unique rules and acoustics of those venues, and finding Bonnie was a godsend. She handled everything seamlessly, which meant we didn't have to stress for a single second.
Bonnie was incredibly responsive and organized throughout the entire planning process. She truly listened to our vision and kept the energy up all night. We've had many guests reach out after the reception just to tell us how awesome the DJ was! We are so happy we chose her. Thanks, Bonnie! -

Bonnie was perfect for our wedding! Not only was communication simple & fluid, it was also joyful; which is exactly what you need in the midst of the stressful parts of wedding planning. For day of, Bonnie couldn’t have been more communicative & kind and was excellent at transitioning tracks & feeling the room from her booth. We had a huge dancing crowd and we packed the dance floor for nearly 3 hours! Post-wedding, so many people’s highlight was the dance floor and Bonnie as our host of the music & vibe. As a bonus, we loved having another woman on our wedding team :) Couldn’t recommend Bonnie enough! If I ever throw another rager, Bonnie’s who I’m gonna call! -

Bonnie was incredible! She let us make her a playlist of all the songs we wanted for each part of our wedding and knew exactly when to play them! She had our guests on the dance floor all night long and was such a kind, genuine, fun, stress-free presence. She had tons of helpful tips and all of the transitions and announcements went seamlessly. I cannot recommend her enough! We just had our wedding 2 weeks ago and she made it SO easy and FUN.
A few things we loved:
1. I have been to probably 25 weddings and maybe about half of them had audible vows, so I was fearful. With Bonnie, our ceremony music and mics worked flawlessly, and everyone could hear the entire ceremony and speeches during dinner. This sounds like a small feat, but I assure it is not.
2. Bonnie is SO flexible, friendly, and easy to work with. Absolutely NO ego, just genuinely wants you to have everything you want for your big day. Will give as many recommendations as you want or let you pick all the music and specifics.
3. She showed up on time, put up beautiful lighting, and followed through on everything we asked for. Our guests had the best time.
4. Full dancefloor the whole night! She played absolutely SLAMMING music and we all had the best time! -

Bonnie was the absolute perfect choice for our last-minute wedding! She ensured our mic needs were met for the videographer & ceremony and MC’d the reception without a hitch. She was such a pro with the rest of the staff, and we worked with her to create a wedding playlist of Motown, 90s nostalgia, and folk rock that everyone loved. Our only regret was that we didn’t have more time to dance!! Couldn’t recommend Bonnie more as a DJ, collaborator, and wedding guest 🎶 -

She worked seamlessly with our coordinator to keep the flow of the day smooth and enjoyable for everyone. We had the pleasure of working with Bonnie as our wedding DJ last weekend and I can't speak highly enough about her services as well as her professionalism. She made it so easy to choose songs for different parts of the day, from the ceremony, to cocktail hour, dinner, reception, first dances, cake cutting - all of it! Of course we were free to choose whatever music we wanted, but she made it so easy by providing us with specific lists of the most popular songs (with tons to choose from) in every category. We chose the songs we wanted for special moments, then decided to let her do her thing for the reception dancing... we were blown away! We had 100 guests at our wedding and the dance floor was packed all night. She was totally on time with every part of the day & night with announcements for dinner, first dances, last song - all of it! So many of our guests complimented the music that she played. We highly, HIGHLY recommend her services for anyone who needs an incredible DJ! -

Bonnie was amazing! She was our DJ for our wedding a couple of weeks ago at El Paseo. We did not have a wedding planner, and Bonnie took on the role of making sure everything was organized and that our reception flowed seamlessly. She even showed up to our ceremony with microphones and to make sure our ceremony went according to plan. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and made it so we could just enjoy our day without worrying about anything. In addition, she played great music and kept everyone dancing all night long. Our guests also really loved the photo booth as well.
Our wedding reception was truly perfect because of Bonnie. I simply cannot recommend her enough. Thank you Bonnie for making our wedding day so special :)

Bonnie is incredible
Bonnie was a delight. TLDR: hire her. You won’t regret it!
Our wedding planner shared half a dozen DJs she recommended, we researched all and interviewed three. Immediately over the phone, we knew Bonnie had the positive energy and vibe we were after.
In the months leading up to our wedding, Bonnie was also married and sent us photos from their beach ceremony. Stunningly gorgeous and on the same page as us.
While planning, Bonnie helped find the talented piano player Pascal for us and coordinated everything. She provided mics for our ceremony easy-peasy without any logistics we needed to worry about or extra charges.
Fast forward to our wedding day, when she showed up early in the coolest outfit, equipment in tow, smile wide. She hugged us, talked through everything, and set herself up.
Music was spot on. We provided her a couple Spotify playlists that she expertly curated and mixed. I’d suggest clients think of all the different activities and moods (I.e happy hour, dinner, dancing, etc), and work with Bonnie to develop a set list. She’s a pro and a delight to work with.
After dancing, she had the kindest words for us and even set up a playlist for the afterparty. -

Bonnie was an incredible DJ for our wedding! We had to postpone due to COVID, and she was very flexible throughout the whole process. 1000/10 - Bonnie is everything. I was very passionate about finding a female DJ and Music by Bonnie was a dream come true. Bonnie played our wedding in October 2021, and all of our guests commented on how fun the music was and our dance floor was packed the whole night through.
I was really overwhelmed by the idea of trying to give music directive because I feel like my taste is all over the place, but Bonnie was so patient and asked great questions, and ultimately she did so much with very little directive. Her instincts were great and she created the absolute perfect vibe. We played jazz/Rat Pack for dinner and everything from disco to country to Top 20s at the reception. And to top it all off - she is LOVELY!! A warm and friendly personality who hosts a killer party with class!!!!
We were so happy working with Bonnie from the first phone call to the last dance - would absolutely recommend her to anyone! -

We discovered Bonnie at a friend's wedding and knew immediately she was our choice when we started to plan.
Bonnie was an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process and made our wedding day complete.
She was incredibly responsive and celebratory in all of our communications leading up to our wedding. Even through a wedding reschedule, Bonnie made us feel so special and taken care of.
She allowed us to pick as much of the music as we wanted and the music throughout the entire day was perfect.
In addition to normal DJ services, we asked Bonnie to do a silent disco for our guests after hours. Bonnie coordinated the rentals for us & made sure the system would work with hers. It was a huge hit with our guests - All thanks to Bonnie.

We are so happy that we hired Bonnie to be our DJ for our wedding! We spoke with her on the phone prior to booking her and knew it would be a perfect fit. We got married in our backyard so it wasn't a typical wedding venue set up but Bonnie made sure that everything went perfectly, including a microphone for the officiant and during speeches, set up for our family member to play his guitar when I walked down the aisle, and smooth transitions from ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception. She really honored the music and vibe that we requested and wanted at our wedding. The dance floor was packed all night and and the music selection was perfect. Bonnie definitely made the night and I would recommend her in a heartbeat!! -

We chose Bonnie for our wedding DJ, because she was instantly there for us from the very start. Bonnie demonstrated wanting to be a part of our special day in a way that no other dj we interviewed did; Before we had even booked her, she had taken interest in us as a couple, and wanted to dream about the wedding with us, not just know about when and where. She made us feel excited and confident about what was to come. She was outgoing, warm, and totally willing to work with us however we wanted, making time for phone conversations to plan it all. She truly made us feel comfortable and there was absolutely no stress involved. Working with her was easy and fun, she made the whole thing feel like a breeze from start to finish. Not to mention, her premade music lists made picking songs a whole lot easier. Two weeks before the wedding, we had a last minute venue change and Bonnie was flexible and able to adapt. I felt a wave of happiness when she arrived at the venue and knew instantly by looking at her I had made the right decision. I honestly don't think our wedding day would have been the same without her behind the music, the dancefloor was never empty, and the music played all the way up until the send-off. There was even a conga line! Bonnie goes above and beyond wherever she can and we truly appreciated everything she did for us. Book with Bonnie, she is great!!!! -

There is a reason why Bonnie is so highly rated and I am so thankful we had the pleasure of working with her for our wedding! You can be as involved in the song selection process as much as you want but we decided to just pick the songs for the important moments and sprinkled a few of our favorites to dance to during the reception. From that list she completely got a sense of what our taste was in music and we couldn't have been happier with how she handled the rest of the songs. She reads the crowd to see how guests are enjoying what is being played and caters to their likes (as far as adding more slow songs or keeping the dance hits coming). I cannot recommend her enough to any couple looking for a DJ for their wedding! -

Bonnie is THE BEST! Wow. Not enough great things to say about her. She had the perfect balance of all types of music genres (my parents are more oldies style while my husband and I's song is Gangster Paradise to give you a spectrum lol). She was incredibly through and thoughtful about every component of the day and everyone keeps raving about how amazing she was. Also a big thing to note, it RAINED on our wedding day. At the 11th hour we had 15 minutes to move an outdoor ceremony and reception to indoors. She was able to jump in with the rest of the team and it was FLAWLESS. I honestly forgot that we were ever supposed to have it outside. Thank you SO much, Bonnie, for being a part of our dream tea. May Coolio and Maren Morris/Zedd lead you to many more incredible dance parties :) -

Best wedding DJ ever!!! My son was married on May 4th. He and his new bride wanted the reception to be fun and filled with excellent music and dancing and thanks to Bonnie it was perfect!!!! I have been to a lot of weddings and as you know the DJ can be a “make or break” for the party portion. Bonnie played exactly what the couple asked for and was so kind and professional. I cannot say enough about how perfect she was for us all. People are still talking about how fun the wedding was-especially the dancing!!! -

Bonnie is knowledgable about the SB wedding scene and was so helpful leading up to our wedding day. She had helpful input on timeline and layout ideas in addition to being the expert on sound and DJ stuff. She replys quickly via email and after getting a few quotes she was reasonably priced especially considering the value of her years of experience. She worked with us to make sure the playlists that we had made she was able to access. ONLY problem—the wrong version of our first dance song was played. It was Cant help falling in love by Kina Grannis and there was two versions, we had prepared and practiced to one but the other (super long instrumental intro) was the one that was played. Not a big deal at all in the big picture, but just as a tip to anyone who is using a song that has multiple version, confirm that the correct version is obtained! -

Bonnie came highly recommended by our planner (she DJ'd her wedding when she was first starting out!), and after chatting with her via phone, we were pretty immediately sold. While she was personally booked for our date, she still met with us in person to discuss the day, our goals, and talk through specific song choices and themes. She uses a centralized system so that every person on her team can step in as needed with great results, and she assured us that her colleague Melissa would be amazing. Folks, she was.
My personal goal was to never leave the dance floor - I joked that's where we would host the receiving line. Mission accomplished. We had people of fall ages on our dance floor the entire night. She was also incredibly responsive to our requests and no-play list, as well as our crowd prompts and announcements (only as many as we requested, and exactly as we wanted). The sound quality during the ceremony and throughout the reception were fantastic, and they worked with our videographer to make sure they were able to capture what they needed, too. Bonnie and her team are top notch, and you can tell they really care about making peoples' events special. Bonnie is also a riot to hang out with and has been doing this for a long time. If you want a fun, professional, and responsive DJ, look no further than Bonnie and her crew. -

We love Bonnie! She really helped make our wedding day great. My husband and I agree that we are sooo happy she was there for us. She set the tone for a great party! The ceremony music was great, too.
Our guests loved the music. The atmosphere it set during dinner was perfect. When it came time for dancing, my husband danced all night, and he is not a dancer. So many guests kept out on the dance floor. We are still getting comments on how great the music was. It really was a great party, and Bonnie and her music were at the heart of it. Her MC moments were also perfect and went exactly how we wanted.
On a more personal note. something about Bonnie's energy makes me really happy. The instant I saw her and we greeted one another, I felt overwhelmed with happiness and confidence. Our phone conversations in preparation for the Big Day were great. We laughed and she answered all my questions and understood the tone we wanted to set.
If you are wondering whether or not you should book Bonnie and Company, I'll answer that question for you right now: DO IT! She will take great care of you, and will do it with much enthusiasm and warmth. -

I first met Bonnie when she was setting up speakers in the Mural Room at the Santa Barbara Courthouse for another wedding. She has a great personality and was very professional. She responded to emails quickly and made the entire planning process easy and stress free.
I had a timeline made for our wedding day and DJ Larry loved it, and stuck to it! The sound in the Mural Room was amazing, and Larry kept everything flowing throughout the ceremony and reception. The guests were dancing all night!
We also rented a photo booth from them, and everyone loved the props and unlimited photos. We got the link to download the photos a few days later and we were enjoying all the photos.

Wonderful experience with Music by Bonnie!!! Bonnie was incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with during our initial decision process, and helped us sort through the various decisions around music for our wedding day. We always felt like she understood our requests and really "got us" from the beginning. Melissa was the DJ for our wedding, and despite having not met her in person up to that point, she was incredible! All elements of the music (for the ceremony and reception) were handled flawlessly, and she kept the dance floor going all night (just as we'd asked). Clearly Bonnie does an incredible job getting her team members ready for each gig. We highly recommend using Music by Bonnie for any event!
