  A friend of mine recommended Joey to me. He was also their photographer during their wedding and only had great words to say about Joey's work. I did my own research of his work online and have also found rave reviews about him.
  
  I first contacted Joey late 2014 to inquire about his photography services. At that time I also wanted some professional photos of myself and Shawn with the kids. So we booked him for an afternoon of outdoor photography in 2 locations in San Francisco in Feb 2015. It was an easy day with him. He was very patient especially with the kids. We are happy overall with the experience and the photos he sent us back afterwards.
  
  We booked him for our wedding in April 2016 as soon as we confirmed the date with the venue. It was very easy to talk to him. He offered suggestions where needed without sounding imposing, When he arrived at our hotel to start the pre-wedding photoshoot, he was very professional and very creative. At the venue - before, during and after the wedding, I witnessed him inconspicuously insert himself at all those important moments to make sure we have all of them captured. Even the venue directors also had great words to say about Joey, having worked with him in several other weddings at the Cliff House beforehand.
  
  He brought an assistant with him, Gabriel, who was also very professional and cheerful. He made me and my guests smile for the camera effortlessly.
  
  We couldn't be any happier having Joey and Gabriel capture the story of our big day!

  We asked Joey to photograph our wedding last April, which was an out-of-town event in the Sierras near Reno-Tahoe. He did a fantastic job recording the events from the Friday pre-party, then the setup, ceremony, and reception party on Saturday. Since we're a little "older" and have been through this before, we asked him to concentrate on our family and friends more than on us. He did get a lot of nice photos of the ceremony, and of course the traditional poses with family and the wedding party etc., but he really did a great job capturing candid shots of all of our guests (and us!) just having a great time, exactly what we wanted. These photos are the most fun for us to look at and to share with family and friends, and will remain enjoyable for a long time. Besides having a great eye for composition, he has great timing for capturing fleeting events, and adds to that a mastery of techniques which enables him to artistically capture the excitement and movement of a moment.
  
  Within two weeks of the wedding we received some 1300 photos from him... and they were all good! It took a lot of effort to pare these down to "only" the best 250 or so that we felt wouldn't be too daunting for others to look through. We've received many positive comments and compliments on our wedding photos - many thanks Joey!

  We could not be more pleased with Joey as our wedding photographer. I am very picky about getting a photographer, especially for our wedding. I like my pictures the way they are taken. I think a lot of photographers nowadays edit much of the pictures that it loses the beauty and essence of the art of photography. We would recommend Joey to any future bride and groom. Hands-down one of the best choices we made while planning our wedding!

  We used Joey for our engagement and wedding photos. The pictures turned out beautifully. All of our friends and family gave so much compliments. A few friends who got married a few months after us even decided to use Joey for their photos after seeing ours. I would recommend MoodyStills to anyone. Joey was so nice and accomodating. I am so glad we decided with him. We now have great memories of our wedding and pictures to show it too. :)

  Mr Villadolid is one of the Premier Photographer in Asia. He has the utmost dedication in his field and deep dedication to his craft. Our family enjoys his photo sessions services and we are very satisfied with the outcome of his work. I personally am very happy with the works of Mr. Villadolid at my wedding held here at Marin County. He is kind and makes the bride look her utmost best. I did and thank you to him.

  Joey took the photos for our August 15th wedding. Not only was he very easy (and fun!) to work with, he took some amazing shots throughout the day and evening. My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with his work as he is truly a master at his craft. I would definitely refer him to my friends and family!

  I highly recommend Moody Stills Photography for anyone who wants amazing pictures, absolute professionalism, & a great personality to work with! As my mother told me after the wedding, "Roxanne, thank your lucky stars for him". Contracting with Joey was actually by chance since my original photographer had to cancel. Joey was referred & he automatically stepped up to the plate & reassured me (the very frantic bride). We first worked with Joey for engagement photos & I cannot tell you how incredible they turned out!!! So far beyond anything we expected - my (now) husband has always felt very unphotogenic & Joey was able to make him feel comfortable & look very handsome. We still get compliments on them, how often do you hear about people gushing over e-photos? They were by far the best pictures we have ever taken...until the wedding that is. On the day of the wedding, Joey was everywhere & hidden at the same time: he was there for every shot & every moment, yet you could hardly notice his presence. His ability to be almost a shadow for the whole event was exactly how you want it! I never felt crowded, but whenever I would looked for him to have a photo taken, he was always there every time, ready to shoot. Plus, his attention to detail, framing, colors, angles, lighting - he is ingenious!
  I have a passion for photography & it was my number one concern for the wedding - Joey exceeded my expectations, made us the happiest customers possible, & to this day (months after the wedding), we still receive requests for Moody Stills' information. Guests want to know where he is based, does he do portraits, can he do their wedding, on and on. If you want a great photographer who is so much fun to be around, great prices & turn around time, Joey is the number one person! Thank you so much Joey!!! ~The Scotts~

  Moody Stills Photography is the best photography in the area. We got married in June 2009 and Joey did our engagement photos and wedding photos. We love showing off our pictures to our friends. He has great ideas for picture poses and an eye for attractive landscape.
  
  We had our engagement photos done in three different areas. We went to a flower garden then to a bridge and finished on the beach at sunset. Joey was so warm and friendly he made us feel at ease so we could focus more on each other. He chose different backgrounds and poses and gave us a wide variety of pictures. He asked us to bring three different outfits for the different places. We finished at the beach at sunset and followed his direction and they are photos we will remember forever.
  
  For our wedding Joey showed up early and took photos of us getting ready. He took pictures of the dress and the bridal party. We took photos near the Golden Gate Bridge but didn't have alot of time to work with so we followed his direction and we got all the poses we asked for done. The photos are amazing. He then followed our limo to Woodside where we were to marry. He was very thorough and got photos of us in the limo, interacting with guests and some behind the scenes photos of last minute wedding preparations. Our wedding photos are perfect. We had all the classic poses. picture of every guest, and some special night photos Joey took for us that always remind us of our special day.

  Joey was very professional and made us always feel at ease. He was extremely kind and had a exceptional eye for detail and overall feeling of the shot. All of this without breaking the bank too, definitely the best bang for your buck! Our pictures came out great and all our friends like them and some have even used his services as well.   Amazing. Simply amazing. I had less than two weeks to look for a photographer when I was referred to Joey Villadolid of Moody Stills Photography. His elegant style of taking wedding portraits immediately had me signing a contract. He is very accommodating, very professional and he won't stop until he gets the right shots! My photos turned out to be extremely gorgeous, and I have him to thank for that!

  Joey did our engagement photos and our wedding photography, and we love the photos! The day of the wedding, Joey was great - he set up great portraits, and then we hardly noticed him the rest of the day, but he was able to capture a lot of great candids, including good action shots on the dance floor. (A lot of the photographers whose portfolios we looked at were not good at the indoor action shots, but Joey did a great job with that.) Joey has done a lot of portrait work, and our posed shots were wonderful. The photos overall really captured the day - not just what happened, but also the emotion. My stepmother said that a couple of the photos made her start to cry, and my step-grandmother, who couldn't be at the wedding, said that the slideshow of Joey's photos made her feel like she was there.
  
  He was very easy to work with: it was easy to set up meetings with him, he let us choose the things we wanted from him rather than forcing us into a package, and he was flexible on the clauses we wanted in the contract. He was very communicative and responsive via e-mail, from helping us choose our outfits for the engagement photos to confirming the wedding timeline. He came to our rehearsal to help him plan shots for the wedding. He had the right balance between friendliness and professionalism throughout the process. I have no complaints.
  
  I would give more than 5 stars for the "value for cost" if I could. Our wedding photos were far better than those of friends and family that we know paid 2 or 3 times what we paid, and on par with those of people who paid 4 or 5 times what we paid.
  
  I really recommend getting engagement photos - it's great to have nice photos of us in "regular clothes," and I think we got comfortable with the poses that made our wedding portraits great.

Just look through his website and you’ll be impressed at his range. His commercial images are vibrant, but his wedding photos all feel warm and fun, but also dignified for the occasion. You can tell he really understands how to evoke the emotion he wants his viewer to feel using a photograph. As they say you ‘you won’t get a 2nd chance,’ so take advantage of Joey’s talent.

He went out with me before the wedding and scouted the neighborhood for locations with some character for our portrait back drop. And come wedding day, even though he had assistance for our event, he was personally present and working the whole day, documenting the preparation, the ceremony, and the reception. Even though he was on the spot for everything, he was discreet and did not interfere with any of the proceedings. He was absolutely professional.
  Joey is extremely personable and made my wife and I feel very comfortable. My wife is beautiful, but I’m not much to look at. Still Joey was able to coach us so that his finished portraits were very flattering, (even of me.) Again, Joey really knows what he’s doing. It was clear that he was working with “state of the art” digital equipment, and he was very flexible in working with us on the final format we received for the images we were buying.
  Finally, after having compared many photographers in the area, I can say with confidence that Moody Stills is very competitively priced, (especially considering Joey’s quality and experience.) I cannot say enough good things about Moody Stills. Joey made the part of our wedding that required the least work, the most enduring and memorable. Use him!

Still Joey was able to coach us so that his finished portraits were very flattering, (even of me.) Again, Joey really knows what he’s doing. It was clear that he was working with “state of the art” digital equipment, and he was very flexible in working with us on the final format we received for the images we were buying.
  Finally, after having compared many photographers in the area, I can say with confidence that Moody Stills is very competitively priced, (especially considering Joey’s quality and experience.) I cannot say enough good things about Moody Stills. Joey made the part of our wedding that required the least work, the most enduring and memorable. Use him!

  What i particularly liked were the vendor's positive approach to candid shots or shots that showed the couple in a happy, relaxed mode. These are the shots i display at home and which gives me joyful memories of my wedding.

  We booked this vendor, Joey Villadolid, because of his track record as a versatile photographer and artist. We had seen his work and had confidence that our wedding pictures would be unique, elegant and full of life. Our whole wedding was planned to achieve these three qualities--uniqueness, elegance and fullness of life. Photography was the key to capturing the special wedding for posterity. We were not disappointed! The photographer played his role extremely well during the occasion. He was also very responsive to when we thought it would suddenly rain, and since it was a garden wedding, alternative plans had to be ready. He set up an alternative "studio" nearby. Although the rain clouds eventually stayed away, the photographer gamely used the outdoor and indoor (alternative studio) as his environment. So we had even more of a unique photo shoot! Finally, after everything, we the newlyweds, were so happy that we got value for money. Everytime we view our wedding photos, we always thank the professional artist behind it all. He gave us very special memories.
