Midwest Sound is a reliable, well-established DJ company that did a great job for our wedding reception! They coordinated well with us and our reception venue coordinator to make sure cocktail hour, dinner service, speeches, and first dances went smoothly. They were easy to work with ahead of time as well, and accommodated our special requests, including our specific song needs for our mother-son and father-daughter dances. Highly recommend!

Such an easy and great experience
We got DJ Nick and he was incredible!! He made everything go smoothly, checked in with us frequently to make sure we were happy with the music and he was even entertaining and dancing along to the songs. Our guests were raving about him!! Thanks DJ Nick!!

Dr. William was amazing!!
Where to even start with our amazing experience with Midwest sound and DJ William!! I don't think the dance floor to my wedding on 8/9/25 at CreeksBend was ever empty! DJ William introduced himself as soon as he arrived and he checked in with myself and my now husband multiple times of the night which was so kind but almost not needed cause we had no complaints! He played all my songs I had requested and easily stayed with the vibes we were looking for which was any and everything to keep people on the dance floor! We had multiple guests the day of and the next day say the dance was one of their favorite parts of the day and they never wanted to leave the floor cause the hits didn't stop! We also had William play music during our ceremony and everything cued up perfectly and he even helped make announcements while trying to get everyone together for family pictures. 10 out of 10 recommend Midwest DJ for your wedding so easy to work with and DJ William is amazing if you want a full dance floor!

Understood the Assignment
Leading up to the wedding, Midwest Sound has a great system for selecting songs and organizing the evening. If there were songs we wanted and they didn't have on their list they were able to get them. I've always dreamed of Bridgerton-like covers on songs for our Happy Hour and dinner music. They were able to make it work! We had Austin as our lead DJ with Tanner in training. They were both extremely professional and communicated during the perfect times throughout the night. They met us at the door when we got to the venue, checked in on us between conversations and made sure we were getting what we wanted out of the night. They had AMAZING music to keep us on the dance floor. If you have an idea and you don't see the option on their planning page, just give them a call and they will make it work. We were extremely impressed and could not recommend Midwest Sound more.

Great fun!
I really enjoyed the music at our wedding and our choice of DJ with Midwest sound. I was unsure if we needed a DJ. I mean everyone has a playlist these days. But I’m glad I invested in it. Our DJ was fun and played all the music we wanted. Our goal was that our wedding was a great time and that’s what it was. I had so much fun. Our DJ was engaging without being over the top. Once I was assigned my DJ, I didn't get good vibes from a missed voicemail. He sounded unprofessional and unexperienced. I called Midwest Sound and voiced my concern. They understood my concern and we both agreed a different DJ would be the best. We got Danny. He was fantastic. No complaints. He was so nice and GREAT with the crowd. Nailed everything I wanted. We had the most amazing experience using Midwest Sound for our wedding DJ! DJ Dylan was the best!!!! He is a true professional - prepared, fun, great song choices, and well dressed! We knew we were in great hands with Dylan and Midwest Sound. Everything went smoothly and seriously anything we needed help with, our DJ had it down. When our venue coordinator was confused and didn’t know what she was doing, Dylan also became a wedding day coordinator for us making announcements, confirming timing and transitions of music and events throughout the night, and connected with the other vendors to ensure our photographer and videographer were on the same page to capture every important moment of the night. Neil was the DJ we had for our wedding and he did a fabulous job. He want above and beyond his responsibilities for sure! He kept coming up to me, the bride, at the headtable during dinner as asking if I or the groom needed anything (drinks and etc). Outstanding manners, responsibility, and keeping up the energy level on the dance floor. He was ready to pump up everyone on the dance floor and was consistently dancing himself behind the DJ table. We got him to come out on the dance floor a couple times to dance with us as the guests were also saying great things about the energy he was bringing. You can tell he loves his job and what he does. BreeAnn was our Dj and she was so good! She took her time talking to me, giving me ideas, offering input, and planning every detail on how the ceremony and reception would go. She was kind and considerate, got a feel for our songs, and played them all. It was such a good time. She even took it upon herself to write down the exact time we kissed and became husband and wife. Fair prices & phenomenal experience
We found Midwest Sound because of their fair prices and were blown away by their services. Before the wedding, they were great at communicating and excellent at helping us get our songs organized throughout the day. DJ assignment was random but we got DJ Steve and he was PHENOMENAL. On the day of, he had plenty of equipment for both the ceremony and reception area in the venue, and everything worked and sounded great! He was set up with time to spare. He even did a bit of MC'ing for speeches and dismissed tables for dinner to help our catering team who was down one person. He read the dance floor really well and adjusted depending on the crowd that was out on the floor at the time, and didn't play any songs we didn't want to hear. At the end of the night, he joined us on the dance floor! We got a lot of compliments on Steve specifically, he was a joy to have as a part of our day.

Recommend Midwest Sound & DJ Chesica
Midwest Sound was great to work with. Email replies to inquiries were VERY quick! DJ Chesica really took our planning phone call into account when she prepared for our Wedding. We received many compliments on how she mixed different genres and read the crowd well to get people onto the dance floor and keep them dancing. With the group dances like the Wobble, Cha-Cha Slide, DJ Chesica waited for the dance floor to fill up before starting the song and that was appreciated. Our venue had a ballroom attached to it where some people were in and couldn't hear so it allowed those to get told to come dance and they ran out to do the dances. She also played appropriate music at the proper times which I did appreciate! Like 11pm music and guests wanted it played at like 9pm and she made the decision not to play it till later and again, I appreciated it. DJ Chesica was a very fun upbeat DJ with a Wonderful personality and a Great DJ voice! Her communication skills were wonderful and always asked us questions before proceeding with something new that may have come up or to just double check! We are so very happy to have worked with Midwest Sounds and have DJ Chesica as our Wedding DJ and highly recommend her and the company.

Dj steve = amazing
Our DJ Steve was legit the bomb. Highly recommend that you request him for your event if he is available. He made our night run so smoothly it was unbelievable. He was so personable and friendly and has some killer dance moves! He called us the week of our wedding and we chatted for over an hour and when we got done, I knew we were going to have a fantastic night. From arriving super early to set up and chat with our officiant, to helping the venue rearrange for the dinner, Steve went above and beyond in every way imaginable. We can’t thank him enough for an incredible event!
Midwest sound was also super flexible when we had to postpone our event due to Covid. I called them up and we were able to move the date very easily, which was amazing. Every time we communicated with them they were professional and prompt in their replies. The online portal is convenient for filling out the paper work and making payments. Overall, we had an amazing experience with Midwest sound and would highly recommend them for wedding DJ services!

Kwao was an amazing DJ! I'm so glad they were a part of our wedding. Kwao was outgoing, friendly, and even checked in during the reception about how we were feeling about the music. Most importantly, they really knew what they were doing - Kwao worked well with our venue, officiant, photographer, and coordinator; had a system and plan for everything they needed to do. A Must DJ Company!
Original DJ backed out on us and I needed a last minute DJ. Other coworkers and friends had recommended Midwest Sound DJ Entertainment and needless to say we should have gone with them in the first place. Chesica our DJ was phenomenal! She was personable and interacted great with everyone. She selected music that fit the atmosphere and the crowd. My husband, family, friends and I, enjoyed Dylan and his energy so much! We had a really lowkey wedding, and he fit the vibe perfectly. It was a small wedding of only about 60 people, so sometimes the energy was high, and sometimes it was low; during the lower energy moments, Dylan was on the floor dancing with my friends and I, he brought such good vibes to the reception! My wedding planning was a bit different (without getting into details), and he was so supportive and positive, he made it all super easy, and I would 1000% book him again! Not only is he a great DJ, but he’s a great guy as well.

I've been to a lot of weddings and honestly, most DJs are terrible. NOT the case with Midwest Sound! Before the wedding, they were quick to respond to my emails and super helpful. WOW! The job that Midwest Sound DJ Entertainment did for our son's wedding was AWESOME! Our DJ Zac did a great job, from the beginning of the ceremony to the last dance at the reception. He kept the day/evening running smoothly from helping coordinate the wedding party procession, to playing the ceremony, cocktail reception, dinner and dance music! He prevented long lines from forming at the buffet tables by releasing each table one by one. He played an amazing variety of music, the dance floor was full with guests dancing and having a great time. I appreciate the reminder emails with upcoming deadlines so everything was ready to go when the big day came. DJ Ryan was very fun to work with and checked in often on our wedding day to see if we needed anything and to make sure we were having a good time. If you want a party, request DJ Tristan!
DJ Tristan was an absolutely perfect match for our wedding reception! Very cool and outgoing guy who hit the spot on the nail with the vibe we wanted. Our dance floor was full the whole night - Everyone was bummed when it was midnight because we all could have danced for another 1-2 hours! Process and setup was seamless as well.

Midwest sound was great to work with! The portal was super easy to work and we got to make a “must play list” and “do not play list” which was really convenient. Our DJ Steve was awesome & so attentive to every single detail. He made sure everyone was having a good time and even joined the dance floor to show off some moves :) He was early to set up, made sure my husband and I knew what we needed to do and when, kept the bridal party in check, and made sure to run any and all changes by me first! He also filled in and gave a blessing right before dinner when ours fell through. He really did it all and then some!

Great DJ - saved the day
Our DJ (Brian) was prompt, professional, and very kind. He did a great job of explaining how his process worked and some helpful tips/some "what usually happens" type of advice.
He was fully prepared to save the day with ceremony music when our original musician was going to be late - and pivoted to help the nearly-late musician setup. No hassle at all and was fully prepared to help. Music selection, announcements, etc. were perfect during the evening as well. Perfectly matched the vibe.

Tristan was Awesome!!
Our DJ Tristan was great! He was so fun & bubbly to talk with, my guests loved him! He did his best to keep everyone on the dance floor! I had planned a special dance for my son & his now step father called "My Boy" & they ended up playing the girl version for it instead which really sucked, but it happens! Other than that Tristan was really awesome, he arrived way earlier than expected so that was nice. & our experience with Midwest sound was great - no issues!

We love John!
From the moment I spoke with the owner to understand the DJ and photobooth packages through the wedding, I was grinning ear to ear with this company. John was the DJ for our wedding and he was UNREAL. I am still having friends and family say that we had the best dance floor of any wedding they have been to! Which is all we really wanted for our wedding day. I am so glad that we were matched with John- his setup, announcements, transitions were flawless and he took the time to talk to us and our wedding party. I had several last minute announcements and add ons (photo calls, shuttle times, etc.) which he executed perfectly without me having to remind him (critical on your wedding day) The photobooth was also a huge hit with all photos being texted to the person taking them. I cannot say enough amazing things about John and Midwest Sound!
Tip: Your songs in your "must-play" and "play if time" definitely help the company match a DJ to you. If you don't put in the songs that you expect to hear and want to get down to, your DJ fit won't be as perfect as John was for us.

Excellent Experience with Wedding DJ
We worked with Midwest Sound DJ during COVID wedding planning and rescheduling. They were great to work with and flexible in allowing us to reschedule. We also requested to have a DJ that had worked at our venue previously, and they were happy to make sure that occurred. Our DJ Johnny was great. He listened to what we had requested for the dinner music and dance music. He made sure we felt comfortable with taking requests and any of the interactive songs before the event started. He showed up well before the contracted start time so he was ready to go at the start time. The music he played was great to get people dancing and enjoy the celebration. We would highly recommend working with Midwest Sound and DJ Johnny again!

Our DJ, Sylvan, did a wonderful job at our wedding! We ended up having some weather delays during our outdoor event, and Sylvan was great about checking in as we updated our timeline for when to start the grand march, first dance, etc. He did a great job of keeping the party going all night, and our guests loved how well he was keeping up with requests.
Midwest Sound was easy to work with. They were accommodating when we needed to postpone due to the pandemic. They checked in a couple times before our wedding to make sure everything was correct, and the online portal to plan our event was very convenient.

With Covid, we had a December wedding, but we had to change our reception to February. They were willing to do whatever we needed without an additional charge. We forgot to make changes in our portal for everything that was going on that day. Ben called us to make sure he had a good feel for us, along with what we were expecting for our event. We cut out most of the "fluff" and he was great at making sure everything would go smoothly for our new plan. He arrived earlier than he was supposed to, to make sure everything was ready to go before guest started arriving. He made announcements we asked, and had EVERYONE on the dance floor. People were all walking up to him to shake his hand and thank him at the end of the night. He even gave us a thank you card, and wished us well! Exceeded our expectations, and we could not recommend this company enough to people!

We had Tristan come and DJ our wedding. He was fantastic. The company has a portal where you can pick songs you have to have played, songs you would like and songs you absolutely don't want that you complete a month before your wedding. Tristan abided to that, but also noticed what songs were getting people out on the dance floor and really tried to get people up and having a good time. He called us the week of our event just to confirm everything. I would highly recommend both this company and Tristan!

DJ Ryan was the best!!! Midwest Sound doesn’t assign you a DJ until the week of the wedding and that really scared me until DJ Ryan called me. He told me he was more than a DJ and was going to take all the stress I’ve had planning the wedding in the last 2 years and put it on him. I did not expect that!! He really was amazing at gathering people, being on a timely schedule, he had great ideas for people clinking glasses, and also included some other surprises we didn’t expect. We really liked that DJ Ryan was fun, but not obnoxious. I think filling out the planning forms Midwest Sound provides you as accurately as possible helped Midwest Sound pick the most perfect DJ for us!

We booked Midwest sound through our venue (The Chart house in Lakeville, MN) and I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. The company was flexible, responsive, and made our day perfect and so much fun! I'd highly recommend our DJ max!

Max is the most amazing M.C. /Dj. He is professional and has a great personality. He engages with the crowd/guests. He will ensure all of your guests a great and memorable time. Max has been the dj for many events that I have seen and the energy of the night is fun and engaging.

We didn’t want the party to end!
I’d summarize Midwest Sound as ADAPTABLE, ENERGETIC, and the PERFECT FIT for our Wedding Dance needs! The party raged all night and guests didn’t want to leave the dance floor at the end of the night. The best part? Our original DJ wasn’t able to make it due to a personal emergency, BUT Midwest took care of us by sending another amazing DJ who knew our individual needs and requests and made sure we felt taken care of all night, regardless. THANKS MIDWEST SOUND for a wedding dance we won’t ever forget!

DJ John @ Midwest Sound!
Initially choosing a DJ seemed like an overwhelming task, but when we ran into Midwest Sound online, it seemed like a good fit. Now, post-wedding, I can guarantee that they were perfect for us! They were running a promo so we got the DJ for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception for a great price. We also added a photobooth for a few hours, which our guests loved!
We had John as our DJ. He called me the week of the wedding to ensure that he had all of the details right. He did a great job of reading the room and was very responsive to my needs as well as my husbands. He stuck to the playlist that we gave him for the most part & made sure that the guests were happy with the music that was playing. We didn't have one moment where there weren't people on the dance floor.

Zac was amazing!
One of our friends used to work for Midwest so we didn’t even look at other companies. They were running a promotion when we booked and got unlimited dinner and dancing music for a great price. We also added ceremony coverage and uplighting through them. We requested our DJ, Zac (aka Tall Zac), who has done a couple of our friend’s weddings. We found out that we got him the week of the wedding. He played all of our must play songs and kept the dance floor going all night. I do wish Midwest would match you with your DJ sooner. Spending almost an hour on the phone a few days before the wedding is not ideal.

Jon was amazing!
We had Jon Castway as our dj and he was absolutely amazing! He called a few days before the wedding and we were on the phone for 45 minutes so that he could make sure everything was correct and would go seamlessly which it did! He played all of our requests and was so fun! We was super nice about ending the night and kept playing as he was taking down which was super nice of him! Highly recommend! He also did our uplighting around the venue which we absolutely loved!

A Great Choice!
Everyone was so kind and helpful. DJ Tim spent an hour with me on the phone the Sunday before our wedding to help with planning and music. He was engaging and nice and also a great DJ. Highly recommend this company!

Highly recommend (especially if you get Steve!)
We booked Midwest Sound DJ Entertainment for our October wedding, and they were the perfect choice!! We specifically requested our DJ Steve after seeing him at another wedding and they accommodated our request (though we only found out about 1-2 weeks beforehand when they assign the DJs). Steve was the best DJ/host I have seen at any event ever. He was classy, funny, wise, and ready for everyone to have a good time. Our guests loved him and were chanting his name all night long ("STEVE! STEVE! STEVE! STEVE!") and my maid of honor has already booked him for her own wedding! He was one of the main points of positive feedback from our guests. In addition to Steve, the company overall was easy to work with. They have an online portal where you can request songs to play / maybe play / do not play as well as share general interests and day-of logistics. They make the process easy and our DJ followed all of our requests (except one: he said a prayer before the meal after we asked him not to, but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if my relatives put him up to it haha). It was also inexpensive especially because we booked through one of the local wedding fairs. Everyone we interacted with seemed really chill. I highly recommend them. :)

Great experience!
We had a great experience with Midwest Sound for our wedding outside of Madison, Wisconsin. Tim was our DJ, and he was a last-minute change, as our other DJ had an emergency come up the week of wedding. He was so sweet and kind throughout our whole day. People were on the dance floor all night, which is just what we wanted! He did a great job reading the energy of the room and keeping it high. The price was very reasonable. He was punctual and did such a great job with the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and ceremony. No awkward pauses, played all the right music, and did great with transitions. The company kept in contact with us the week of our wedding too and reassured us that they'd find the right DJ for us -- and they did! We definitely recommend Midwest Sound!

Don't look any further!
MSDJE was by far the best choice for the value and the professionalism. First let me say the price is right. Going further into this review it is hard to start because everything was just so great. After speaking with several companies in the Midwest area surrounding Baraboo in places like Madison, Milwaukee, and Wis Dells, I got the feeling I was being over charged for a service that would last no more than 6 hours. Some of the DJ personalities I spoke with screamed white privileged male with ego issues. This isn't the type of DJ I was looking for at all. MSDJE said they would MATCH you with the perfect DJ and they did just that. Overtime I called to ask a question, Sarah answered the phone and always was polite, funny, and made sure to get my questions answered. When I asked for a special mash up of two songs, the female music director, made it for us no extra charge. The DJ Tina that they matched us with was fantastic. She was concerned that we liked our playlist and even hand wrote out the list and had us look it over before the wedding reception. She was an excellent MC. She also dressed the part as a ring master (our reception was in a circus tent) and she even gave us a thank you card with the quote, "I made a wish this three years ago." Marco Says. "What did you wish for?" Bailey asks. Marco leans forward and whispers in Bailey's ear, "I wished for her!" -Erin Morganstern, "The Night Circus"

DJ Nathan is the BEST
It was as if Midwest Sound could read our minds to match us up with the best DJ they could for our personalities and our day. They must have because we had DJ Nathan who nailed every aspect of our day. He coordinated with the venue to keep music at the ceremony on a rainy day. He stayed in contact with us throughout the reception as we continued to change the schedule of reception activities. He kept the floor dancing until the end. He was the best and we could not thank him enough!

I definitely recommend our Dj Terry, she was great! She stuck with our classic rock style music, playing the right song at the right time to keep the dance floor busy. Dj emmet is amazing!
Our DJ (Emmet) truly made our night one to remember! He was so engaging with our crowd and kept everyone aware of what was happening. He was patient with us when we got a behind on our timeline and helped keep our guests engaged during any downtime. He checked in with us multiple times throughout the night to see if there was anything we needed or wanted. He played AMAZING music and even joined us on the dance floor for some of the line dances! Highly recommend Emmet and Midwest Sound for our DJ needs!

Josh was awesome!
We had Josh as our DJ for our wedding and it was great! He checked in with us throughout the night to make sure everything was going well and if we had any requests of him, which was very nice. The planning process was easy, we filled out some forms online for how we wanted the night to go and what songs to play when and then filled in our must play/do not play list. Very user friendly! We really enjoyed our whole experience with this company (and Josh!) and would definitely recommend them!

Can't recommend enough!
Our DJ, Alex, was absolutely incredible. When planning the wedding, the DJ was something we booked and forgot about just expecting someone to bring a sound system and play the requested songs, but this man went above and beyond the call of duty. He somehow managed to be the life of the party, while still keeping the attention on us as the couple and making our day perfect. He went out of his way to ensure that everything - every song, introduction, etc, was perfect and just how we wanted it. We really had no expectations for a DJ coming in, but I can't think of a better experience than the one we had with Alex. Seriously- request him. We want to hire him out to play music and narrate our lives now. We even got tons of comments from our guests about how awesome the DJ was.
