Phenomenal photographers!
Scott and Jen are amazing - their professionalism, friendliness, amazing customer service and sense of humor were all things we loved about them. Every time we worked with them for our engagement and wedding photos it was non-stop laughter and fun times. They truly allowed us to have the wedding of our dreams and captured every detail perfectly. We are blown away by how wonderful of an experience we had working with Midwest LifeShots! -

Money well spent. I'd do it again just to hang out with them, then anticipate the awesome pictures they took.
They were the perfect choice for our wedding. You won't regret any shoot with them. From the start of our planning, when we first spoke with them, their communication was prompt, polite, and showed their depth of experience and love for taking the best shot possible to ensure we look good and the moment was stress-less. And we laughed a lot. I wouldn't have wasted my hard-earned money if we didn't feel confident. They exceeded our expectations. The fact that they showed up with smiles and the correct gear meant the world to us on our special day (as a photographer/videographer myself). It's clear they treat their employees well too, people want to work at MWLS. More reason to support their family business. The positive energy translated into amazing photos that we will cherish forever. Money well spent on Midwest LifeShots Photography. Plus, Jenn is awesome.-

Best in the Midwest
The best!
So glad I booked Midwest Lifeshots Photography for my wedding day. They were awesome to work with, sent fun mail, and eased every worry I had. I dio 1/2 my wedding planning in another state and they assured me everything would be fine! We got so many compliments from guests at our wedding on how great their team was and how amazing the photographers were. They got along great with our guests and captured every important moment of our day. Could not be happier with how our pictures turned out. -

We used MLSP for our wedding, and I could not have asked for a better experience! Scott was so friendly and charismatic and we knew right away that they were the right fit for us. He helped settle all of the nerves we had about being professionally photographed. Renae and Olivia bared the cold with us and photographed our engagement shoot and wedding in freezing conditions. Olivia even lent me her winter boots so we could trudge through the snow to capture the most stunning winter wedding photos!
We were blown away by the entire MLSP team from start to finish. They were very helpful in the planning process and gave us tools to create a timeline that was perfect for us. On wedding day, Renae and Olivia were very friendly and made everyone feel comfortable and at ease. We were fortunate enough to get our full gallery of photos back from editing only 2 weeks after our wedding, and I could not be more happy with the results! They truly captured our day beautifully and I will cherish the photos forever! -

Could not recommend a better company for photography!
Highly recommend this company for wedding photography and really any photography needed! Absolutely loved working with the team from start to finish - their personal touches throughout the process really make them a standout company! We were grateful that our package included an engagement session (because we wouldn't have done one otherwise) - it really helped us to be more comfortable with photos on our big day. We also loved that we had two photographers on our wedding day for an unlimited timeframe - much less stressful! And, they captured our day from start to finish so perfectly and truly brought the people and moments captured to life - we are so grateful! -

Perfect Team
Throughout every moment of wedding planning this team was there to give advice and help give great ideas and suggestions. Always so responsive which is so reassuring. And the day of, it almost felt like having guides to help us get through the day. They were so prepared and professional and made it so easy to just relax and enjoy the day while they captured every wonderful and important moment and detail. Especially things I never thought of but am so glad I have those memories forever in our photos. -

Amazing photographers- amazing company
The Midwest team was amazing to work with. We have nothing but good things to say about them! Our photographers were super fun, down to earth, and professional.
Our photographs captured all of the details from the entire day which is what we hoped for. My favorite thing working behind the scenes was their crazy fast responsiveness to all of our emails and calls.

Amazing Wedding Photographers

Their energy and passion is absolutely contagious! Which made for some of the BEST candid photos with ear-to-ear smiles!

Natural, real-color photos
To us, the most essential wedding vendor is the photographer. Someone who captures the entire day with clear, natural, beautiful, real-color photos to help us relive our special day. Midwest LifeShots met all of our expectations and then some! Beyond the beautiful 800+ pictures we received from our wedding, working with Scott and Jen was a pleasure! They are very easy to talk too, feel comfortable around, and are responsive whenever needed. Our family also loved them, Scott and Jen were like family friends! Incredible Photographers
Scott and Jen are no less than magicians. We got married on a somewhat chilly October day and they were able to get such amazing pictures in such a short amount of time so that we didn't have to stand outside in the cold :) They were professional, fun, made us laugh and feel SO comfortable and just so easy and great to work with. I knew they were going to be great by their social media accounts - I love that they highlight REAL couples who don't inherently just look like models. I think it's easy for any photographer to get good pictures of naturally gorgeous people. But you can tell when a photographer is talented when they get such amazing, beautiful pictures of everyday couples. This was not only confirmed when I saw our sneak peak photos, but they blew our expectations out of the water. Seriously such talented photographers - I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone in the area!! -

Love love love love love love love love
I do not even know where to begin for Midwest Life shots! I love them so much and I wish we lived closer because I would totally have them photograph our family forever! We had them do our engagement shoot and wedding shoot and I could not be happier with our photographers and results. They made us feel so relaxed and we had so much fun posing! Meredith is so wonderful to work with and her energy is infectious! They wore masks the whole time and we felt very safe with them. Their customer service is off the wall amazing! Scott, Jen, Meredith, and the whole team are just the kindest, most wonderful humans and I just am so happy we went with them for our wedding. Everything was great! Highly highly highly recommend!

We absolutely LOVED working with Midwest LifeShots! From the first time we met with Meredith, we knew that our wedding day would go smoothly because of this team. :) Our wedding gallery was beautiful, even more amazing than we ever dreamed! Plus, we got the gallery back in 3 DAYS! 3 DAYS! It was awesome! We looked through all of our photos and relived our day while sitting on the beach during our honeymoon. Dream Come True Wedding Day thanks to MLSP!
The absolute BEST wedding photographers hands down. The weather tried to put a damper on our day but Scott and Jen did not let that stop them and showed us just how much fun we could still have even in the cold and rain! They are an absolute joy to work with and made us feel special throughout the entire process leading up to the wedding. Working with them is not a one day thing, you get so much more than that! 100% highly recommend
After my first phone call with Scott, I knew I struck gold. His personality instantly made me feel like he was my newfound friend. He constantly put me at ease answering all of my questions at all times of the day/night up until the day before our wedding.
Meredith, Renae and Sam were the team members assigned to photograph our wedding and cannot say enough good things about them all.
We first spoke with Meredith who developed our timeline for the big day so we could ensure everyone was in the right place at the right time. She also made sure we'd have time at the cocktail hr to thank our guests which was important to us and also make sure we got our pictures taken at the golden hour which were by far my most favorite pictures of all.
They all made taking photographs incredibly easy, had so many great ideas for the location and readily corrected our positions/out of place hair or whatever it may be to ensure we looked our best in the pictures.
Meredith even went of her way to sew on the top front button of my husband's suit that had fallen off after the ceremony to make sure it wouldn't affect anything.
But what really meant the most to us was that the team had printed and framed a photograph to place on the gift table. The day itself flies by so quickly and that picture helped us focus and reflect back on that moment that happened just an hour or so before and fall in love with the day all over again.
I've been recommending them to everyone and can't wait for the day to work with them again!

Perfect Wedding Photographers!
Midwest Lifeshots Photography captured all of the small details, emotions, and special moments from our wedding day and we could not be happier. This team is truly talented and passionate about what they do....and they are a lot of fun to be around. During the planning process, they communicated so well and always checked-in during the planning process to make sure everything was going well and would ask questions about our special day. On the day of the weeding, they were so much fun to be around with making everyone laugh and having a great time. They did such a great job with finding the perfect areas for photos and how to place everyone in the group photos (we had uneven sides and a bridesman). When we received our photos, we were so in love with them. Midwest Lifeshots went above and beyond our expectations and we will cherish these photos for a lifetime. -

Working with Scott and Jen was a D.R.E.A.M. As an Event Planner, I work closely with the photographers-especially at weddings. So Much More Than a Photography Team
I say that Midwest LifeShots Photography is more than a photography team because they were our friends and biggest fans throughout our 18 month engagement; they were our wedding planners, helping us plan and schedule out our entire wedding day; they made sure we still "dated" during our engagement by sending us coffee gift cards, movie tickets, and so much more (just because!!!!). We worked with MLSP for our engagement shoot as well as our wedding day and we couldn't have been happier! We could not begin to say how happy we were with the service we received from Scott and Jen at Midwest LifeShots. Our pictures are amazing! MLSP was hands down our best investment for our wedding. We had a recommendation from a co-worker who told me "MLSP made our wedding." We thought we had found our photographer until I looked at their site and I was hooked by the combination of photography and video clips. Because I didn't think I would ever sit down and watch our entire wedding, it did not make sense to us to pay for a videographer, but I did want clips which made them ideal. (*Note- if you want the audio, then make sure you get a videographer). My husband and I immediately clicked with Scott in our initial with his love of his art and geeking out on it! Since our theme was geek chic, why wouldn't we have someone who geeked out on his own profession like we do =) Besides the personalities matching, we felt the confidence and saw the quality of the photos. Throughout the day, Scott and Jen made everyone feel comfortable and laugh and the end product was breathtaking. We had such a difficult time picking out which ones we want to use for various different things. We highly recommend this company and suggest booking both Scott and Jen- worth every cent. Also, afterwards, I was debating ordering photos through them or just going through Walgreens. I printed a few from Walgreens and a few from them- the quality is much better ordering through MLSP, however, I think printing on matte is better color wise than the glossy if you want to go the cheaper route. -

We were very picky with our vendors for our wedding, however, it only took a few minutes with Scott at Midwest Lifeshots Photography to know without a doubt they were the best for us. They sat us down and not only promised us great photos, they delivered us confidence in knowing that the most special day of our lives was creatively and completely documented. Hands down best decision we made for a vendor. Even compared to many of our friend's weddings photographers, MLSP still has that extra spark.

We had to find a wedding photographer while living 3,000 miles away! We had recommendations for Midwest LifeShots and after the first phone call with Scott we knew this was the team to go with. The team made us feel like we knew them forever. They were very organized and made the planning from so far away soooo easy! We met for the first time on wedding morning and it was as if we were long lost friends. We were completely at ease all day and they had our full trust. They did not let us down. I love everything about Midwest Lifeshots. I had seen photography they did for a cousin of mine. I like how they put together a slideshow for your photography and incorporate candid video. They take time to get to know you and to find out what your dreams are in the photography you want done. My husband was not as excited as me for our engagement session, but Scott made it a really fun and special moment. Jenn did a really good job with the wedding. We really appreciate all that MWLS has done, and how they've gone out of their way to make this milestone even more special. We have memories we can cherish forever now. -

We can't wait to work with Midwest LifeShots again after having them do our engagement and wedding photography! Scott one of the owners shot our wedding and he was AMAZING! He could always make me and my husband laugh so our smiles never seemed forced. By the end of the day he seemed like more of a friend than just a photographer. The team that shot our wedding definitely brought their A-Game. We had a small snag(one of the bridesmaids was hours late!) in the wedding timeline the morning of the wedding and Scott jumped right in and rearranged the entire photo timeline to make sure I still got all the photos that were important to me. They were even able to make me laugh when I was beyond stressed out over the late bridesmaid. Everything they do right from the initial meeting down to the final viewing is perfection! They are worth the cost as they are exceptional in what they do. -

It was wonderful to work with photographers who seemed genuinely as excited about our wedding photos as we were. As an added bonus our photos are beautiful! My husband and I are a bit non-traditional, and our photographers did everything they could to capture our personalities with the photos. -

We got married about a month ago, we have had midwest for our engagement photos but now we have had them for our wedding and they were even more fabulous for our special day! They are truely an amazing group of people and it isnt like they are photographers, they are like friends. It doesnt seem like you are in front of a camera instead it just feels like you are making memories and setting milestones for your special day to be remembered! After getting engaged, my fiancé and I discussed the most important aspects of our wedding, besides the ceremony. We both agreed photography was a HUGE feature and like every couple, we wanted the best. After wading through several cheesy websites, we found Midwest LifeShots to be right up our alley. Scott, Jen and the entire team at Midwest LifeShots are fantastic.
Besides their photos, we give an A+ for customer service. We were shown our options, walked through the process and did not feel pressured in the slightest. From day one we trusted them completely to take care of us and our important day. They certainly delivered!
Our wedding day went on without a hitch. We got all of the shots we had requested, plus a lot of very creative photos! They captured our personalities without ridiculous staging and were able to produce amazing shots while remaining low-key. They did a wonderful job keeping everything on schedule and made sure we were happy every step of the way. After all was said and done, we were grateful we chose Midwest LifeShots as they were professional, kept us comfortable and provided a service beyond compare.
My husband and I GLADLY recommend Midwest LifeShots to any future bride and groom; the photos and customer service are worth every penny

We were so thrilled with our experience at MWLSP. I honestly have no hesitations in recommending them from any aspect (and I am a tough critic). A few reasons they rock:
(1) Their photos are amazing. Obviously a must-have in a photographer.
(2) They gave PHENOMENAL customer service! They followed through on all their commitments, which after you get married, you will realize this can be rare. Not only did they follow through, but they taught us what to expect, helped us with the photography schedule, kept us on task with formals (which I had several of my friends who have recently gotten married say our photographers handled it better than theirs). From this photographer, you can expect that they will ask questions of you. You aren't going to have to think of everything all on your own. They will be your partner in this process. They will take the time to understand your day and your vision for your wedding.
(3) They are so much fun! it's always a bonus if you truly enjoy working with them.
Seriously, you should at least consider scheduling a meeting with these photographers! -

I have read the many other positive reviews and here is what I have to say: they are all true. My husband and I had a great time working with Scott and Sara. I was not much of a wedding planner... and Scott and Jen made everything easy for us. They were very organized and gave us lots of wedding day tips. On the day of our wedding, I felt that they not only ensured that the photography flowed smoothly, but actually helped to keep the whole wedding ceremony on track. If I had it to do over again, I certainly would. I would be happy to say more about our experience to anyone who is interested. -

We LOVED working with Midwest LifeShots!! Originally, I didn't want to do much in terms of wedding photos, but after I saw their website, I knew they would do the best job capturing our personalities and making our pictures unique. They took so many great photos of us, we're having difficulty deciding which pictures to get in a larger print. I knew from the first meeting with Scott that PHOTOGRAPHY is the one thing I would NOT have to worry about at all, and that's why we decided to go with them. If there's ever been a shining example of a pair of people that LOVE their jobs, it's Scott and Kat. They both jumped into the wedding on time, prepared, and enthusiastic. It's so great to see their reactions whenever they catch an epic shot, and they show off their cameras to each other like trading cards, "Check THIS one out!"
Scott has a process that he follows with every bride, and his professionalism shows. They are aware of many of the possible hangups that could happen throughout the day, and they are prepared to deal with them. They have phone numbers, a schedule loaded on their phones, and an emergency kit (just in case). They aren't "just" photographers, they're pretty much an extension of your personal attendant.
In the mere MONTH following the wedding I had my pictures BACK! I was shocked to have them so soon! They had taken over 1,500 pictures during the day, and I can't imagine the TIME it takes to thresh out the best of those shots, and edit them. We now begin the process of building an album, and Scott tells me "There's too many awesome pictures... it's too hard to choose!"
Photography is something I cared a lot about, and I wanted it to be flawless. And it was. Talk about exceeding ALL expectations! And the best part? They're not "just" the photographer now... they're our friends. :-D -

Midwest Lifeshots Photography was the highlight of our wedding day! (next to getting married, of course...) Scott and Jen were easy-going, professional, and spot-on when it came to spending the day with us and capturing the priceless moments we will cherish for a lifetime. A true class act, dynamic duo!
When choosing a photographer, we evaluated mainly on style of photographs in a photographer's portfolio. In retrospect, however, we realized that the quality of photographs go hand-in-hand with the character of photographer(s). In our case, we hit the jackpot with Scott and Jen! Your photographers are there for every moment of the day, and they totally enhanced and added to the fun of everything that was happening.
Also, on a logistical note, we live in Chicago but were married in Iowa. Rather than insisting we make the trip to Rochester for meetings, right away Scott was more than happy to set up virtual consults over Skype with us. This flexibility was a huge service to us, and it really set the tone that Midwest Lifeshots was our advocate throughout the entire planning process. Awesome. Their sense of humor, teamwork, and friendliness put our minds and perspective at ease with everything, from the big step towards marriage to the minor details of orchestrating the day.
You simply cannot go wrong with the Elders. Photography that captures the beauty, mood, and memories from one of the most important days of your life is more than mere talent for the photographers at Midwest Lifeshots Photography.
